Finally reached these three chapters I have had planned out for a while and now they are.
I do not own Thomas the Tank/Thomas & Friends or I would have kept them in their models forms.
One day at Knapford station Gordon was chilling and relaxing within his engine that was off to the side.
"Welp it is a hard life being me. Having to be the pride of the line is a hard life, one needs their beauty rest to keep up appearances." He boasted out loud to no one in particular as he relaxed as he gave out a relaxed sigh.
Suddenly he jumped when he heard a engine whistle next to him and he soon scowled over as he saw Number 3 pulling up into the station.
"Guess who's back!" Henry called as he drove his engine past Gordon who grumbled at his relaxation being interrupted.
"What cheeks! The audacity of that Henry to interrupt my rest! I need my rest more than anyone else, me the pride of the line, me who has never had an accident!" He exclaimed loudly angry about his relaxation being ruined.
"Don't burst safety valves and jammed whistles count as accidents?" The cheeky voice of Thomas sounds off as he came over to Gordon with that cheeky grin of his. Gordon scowled at him he was so glad that Thomas's branchline will be reopening very soon.
"Nonsense those can to anyone! Unlike Henry, you and James I have never once come off the rails! My track record is spotless as I will never come off the rails ever!" Gordon boldly exclaimed as he shakes his fist in the air to which Thomas rolls his eyes at.
"Sure Gordy." Thomas said grinning before walking off as Gordon scowled at him as he watched him leave. He grumbled before deciding to go back to trying to have a nap, however the Knapford Stationmaster Eddy came over to him and Gordon looked over at him wondering what was going on.
"Gordon you got a special train to take." Eddy told the large driver who stood up at that and stretched as he knew there was no going to sleep now. "Coaches or trucks?" He asked hoping for the former, but the answer he got dashed that hope away. "Trucks."
"Trucks…" Gordon grumbled annoyed that he had to handle that seeing as of late he's been handling more Goods Trains than Passenger Trains as of late, but he knew better than argue so he better get this over with.
But trouble was brewing.
He tried to light Number 4's firebox, but it was refusing to light and thus his train couldn't move at all. He growled annoyed before leaning out of the cab and called over to Edward who was nearby asking if he can give him a push to Knapford Sheds so he can use its turntables to get into right position. Edward smiled and shrugs as he decides to help out his fellow train driver, so Number 2 was busy pushing Number 4 towards the require destination and during that time Gordon kept trying to the fire going.
Eventually they got to the sheds and Edward helped put Gordon into right position on the turntables so the wind give Gordon troubles again, but right now the wind was low, for now. Gordon gives him a wave as Edward left and Gordon signals to the operator to start turning the turntables, but as he did he did not notice the fire in the firebox was starting to go now and seeing the fire wasn't lighting properly for sometime Gordon had foolishly hadn't put Number 4's brakes on.
Gordon still didn't notice when the turntables started moving around and he looked towards the sheds that were once the main place for the engines until the move to Tidmouth. He refused to admit he was a bit sad to see the sheds started getting taken apart seeing it was first sheds constructed on Sodor and for a long time it was where the engines were kept for a long time. Sad to it go, but he understood why it was getting taken down as it was old and seeing how popular & more built Sodor had become it was understandable to move the main shed location to Tidmouth.
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted when the wind picked up greatly and he looked at his brakes to make sure they set so Number 4 wasn't move, he saw his mistake and one thought only came to his mind.
'Oh bugger…'
With that the wind pushed Number 4 greatly and the train was off the turntables before Gordon could apply the brakes on, he than saw that he was pushed onto an old washed-out track that led into a ditch filled with stagnant water.
Gordon quickly jumped out of the cab as Number 4 went headfirst into the ditch where it sunk into the disgusting dirty water.
Gordon groaned as he saw the sight after standing up and he rubs his face with his hands as he knew this was going to cause problems.
He was right about that as when the news was sent to Sir Tophm Hatt who instantly came over quick as possible. Gordon was glad his boss wasn't too hard on him as it was accident and he told Gordon he will get Number 4's firebox looked at. However, Gordon should have put the brakes on and thus still had to be punished for it so Sir Topham Hatt assigned him to handling Good Trains from this point onward onto he decides Gordn learned his lesson.
The rest of the day the two watched as workers had to make a makeshift platform underneath Number 4 so it will be easier to pull the engine free of the ditch.
Gordon groaned when he saw James and Henry arrive with ropes attached to them ready to pull Gordon's engine free. Both they did chuckle at his situation as Gordon now was 'off the rails' just like they had experienced once, but they quickly went quiet as Sir Topham Hatt have them a warning look so they attached the ropes to Number 4 where they started pulling with their respective engines.
Not long after Number 4 was free of the ditch, but had a bad smell to it as disgusting oozing mud was latched onto the train and Gordon knew it desperately needed a clean. He drove Number 4 to Knapford Yards so it can be cleaned by tomorrow, but the smell was terrible and had stayed with him making his clothes stink.
It was a 'fun' night that night at the bunkhouse as Thomas and Percy made jokes nonstop about it while Toby and Duck felt sorry for him. Henry and James would have joined in on the teasing, but Edward had sorted that out and felt sorry for Gordon too.
Gordon now knew to have brakes on whenever not moving so he doesn't come off the rails again.
Sorry, this took a while, full time job hunting was taking up a lot of time.
Hoped you all enjoyed.
