"The city is in a riot!" I said on the communicator as Gwen and I landed in the middle of the street. "I want agents down here to subdue them at once before any more damage is done to the city!" I ordered, watching as Mesmero had people walking money out of a bank and into a van. "Send one who can fight without their eyes, Mesmero is on sight." I said as I looked at Gwen. "We are to round everyone up, taking them down before anything else can happen." I told her, with Gwen holding her arms out to her sides with a small shrug.
"I don't understand why I am needed here, when I could take down Brain guy myself." Gwen said while crossing her arms. I held up three fingers, with her sighing. "I take that back, three reasons. Reason one, the goats of Asgard I stored in your office without telling you. Reason two, not informing you about Harry and Venom. And three-"
"Three is because you spilt coffee on me! Scolding HOT coffee, freshly brewed, an entire pot!" I said, catching a pipe that was coming at me and tossed the person forward, with Gwen webbing them to the ground.
"Ok, as I said, that was on Luke! If he didn't sneeze when he threw the football, none of that would of happened! Like, all of his power went into that football!" Gwen said as I started tossing people to the ground while she webbed them down.
"You still caught it, stumbled through three rooms and still ended up hitting me." I said, taking away a knife someone had and tossing them down, tossing said knife at them and stabbing their shirt and jacket. "Is it me, or are they all focused on us?" I asked, tossing another down while Gwen webbed them down.
"Yeah, they have us surrounded." Gwen said as she jumped over a group jumping at her, but I was unable to do so as everyone jumped on me, pinning me to the ground. Getting a hand through the people, I felt something hit it and then yank me out, where I then landed on top of a bus with Gwen. "So, we are now on the menu." Gwen said as the people started gathering around us.
Hearing someone land next to us, we both turned to face a girl who looked no older than Gwen, wearing a female version of Wolverine's uniform, only instead of three claws in both hands, she had two in her hands. "Wolverine." I said, with said girl looking at me with narrowed eyes.
"Wait, small buff and scary guy is actually a girl?" Gwen asked, with me popping her on the back of her head once she said that. "Ow, what was that for? It was just a question!" She said, with me shaking my head.
"He is missing, I'm filling in for my Father. I used to go by X-23." She introduced, where I pointed towards Mesmero as he was focused on us. "Right, take him down, you two are on crowd control!" Wolverine said as she jumped off the bus and charged at Mesmero, while I ran over to the other side of the bus and jumped off.
"Gwen, gather them all up in one place!" I said, cutting a fire hydrant with my sword and placing it against the gushing water. I used it to aim the water at the people, knocking them back to their senses. "Anyone back to normal, gather get out of the water!" I ordered, watching as people started making their way over towards me while Gwen tossed people into the water if they were too far from it.
"That should do it!" I heard Wolverine say, with me looking at her as she dragged Mesmero over towards us. "And would you look at that, no damage, except the car door and his pride." She said, kicking Mesmero in the ribs, getting a grunt from him.
"Good work, we can end this riot!" I said, with SHIELD troops landing all around us. "Everyone is on damage control, any damage to the area I want a list, as well as a transport here for Mesmero!" I ordered, then looked at Wolverine. "Need a lift, this is your chance." I said, with her shaking her head.
"I'm down the street anyways, I can walk." She said, walking behind me and smacking my rear, making me jump as well as getting a gasp from Gwen, who jumped over to me.
"What was that?" Gwen asked, pointing between us. "Was that some sportsman ship, or did she just pop a feel?" She asked, crossing her arms as I watched her leave.
"She's complicated, not Black Cat complicated, but complicated." I said, making Gwen gasp in shock.
"You two... No... but I thought-"
"I've only done it with Black Cat, so you don't have to worry about it." I said, getting passed a clipboard, that I started going through. "X-23, now Wolverine, due to Wolverine going missing. She was an assassin, and a damn good one at that." I said, turning to Gwen to face her. "She tried hitting on me, but I turned both her and Daisy down." I said, where she smacked her face and then pointed at me.
"Daisy as well? Thats it, no more girls... Ava?" She asked, with me shaking my head. "Good, anyone else I should know about?" She asked, with me thinking about it.
"Rouge, but she no longer has that crush once she found out how old I was. Kitty, but she said she wanted to focus on school. The Scarlet Witch, but that is the other way around. I think that is all." I said, going back to the damage reports.
"What do you mean, "other way around"?" Gwen questioned, but I stayed quiet as she was a smart girl and could figure it out. "No... You have a crush on THE Scarlet Witch?!" She said, gasping in both joy and shock at the same time. "I am so going to tease you about this for the rest of your life!" She said, with me passing the clipboard over to the agent and looking at her.
"Tony Stark, Captain America, Cyclops, Colossus, Gambit, Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, do I need to go on?" I asked, with Gwen sipping her mouth shut. "That is what I thought. Now, I am going to Damage Control to file out some payment plans for the damage that was done. You are going home to get some sleep!" I said, pointing at her as I walked over to a group of agents, away from her.
Later
Opening my eyes, I saw that I was in class. Rubbing my eyes, I looked around and saw Ava was looking at me. "I told you that going out last night would make you tired!" Ava whispered, with me rubbing my head.
"You never said that." I said, frowning as I wasn't using my voice but Gwen's. Looking down, I saw boobs, making me frown at this. "I am either sleeping, or I am inside a girl." I said, looking back at Ava.
"You've always been a girl. Are you feeling alright, Gwen?" Ava asked, making me groan as this confirmed that something was wrong. Reaching into the bag, I pulled out a mirror, making me groan as I looked into said mirror. "Hello, Earth to Gwen!" Ava questioned, with me looking at her.
"Ava, we have a Code Duke!" I said, standing up, with her eyes widening once I said that.
"Hold on, you read the Codes?" Ava questioned as I grabbed Gwen's bag and tossed it onto my back.
"I wrote them!" I said, with Ava grabbing her gear and tossing patting both Danny and Luke on the shoulder, all four of us leaving the classroom. "Sorry Sir, but Mr. Colson wanted to see us!" I said, waving him off as he stopped his lesson to look at us. Walking down the hall, I looked at them. "Right now, we need to find my body, and figure out what is going on!" I said, entering the detention room and sitting down, with the others doing the same.
"Aren't you in your body?" Luke asked, with me looking at him.
"That is Creed." Ava said, with me getting a call, on Gwen's phone.
Answering it, I placed it to my ear. "Gwen, where is my body!" I questioned as the others looked at the other and then at me.
"Wolverine, I really need you to tell me that we aren't in each other's bodies right now!" I heard Wolverine, with me blinking at what I just heard.
"Wolverine? Gwen, its Dakota! I am in your body!" I said, getting a loud gasp from her.
"Wait, If I am in Wolverines body, and you are in mine... who is in yours?" Gwen asked, making me groan as I didn't remember where my body was. Suddenly, there was a ruckus over on her end. "Ok, I really need some help with this angry cat person!" She called out, with me groaning as this wasnt how I wanted my day to go.
"Get to the school, we will deal with Sabretooth here!" I said, hanging up. "Ok, new plan, Gwen in Wolverines body brings Sabretooth here, we as hero's help her, then find my body!" I said, dialing my office number. After it rang a few times, it went straight to voice mail.
Calling my cell, I got an answer this time, with the sound of running water going off. "Who is it?" I heard my voice speak, with me clearing my throat.
"Wolverine, we switched bodies, you me and Ghost Spider." I said as I opened Gwen's bag and took out her costume. "Get to the Midtown High." I said as I started undressing, with Ava pushing both Danny and Luke out of the room, glaring at me as I did so.
"Oh yeah? Is that why I woke up in the shower? Weird, but whatever." I heard, followed by her hanging up on me.
"Damn idiots, what have you dragged me into!" I yelled as I started putting on the costume, stopping once I saw Gwen's Bra. "Does she go commando?" I asked, placing the fabric up against the Bra, not seeing it underneath. "Good, I dont want to embarrass her." I said, putting the rest on, including the mask and hood. Looking at the web shooters, I tossed my hand out, aiming for the door but hit the wall. "That is going to take some time getting used to!" I said with a groan as I walked over to the window and made my exit.
Earlier, Wolverine's POV
Feeling water hitting me in the face, I waved my hand at it, but it just kept dropping. Opening my eyes, I saw that I was in a fancy shower, really fancy. I couldn't see any dirt in the shower, unlike the shower that I was using at the hotel, dirt stains all over the place. Hearing a phone ring, I looked out the room and saw that it was an office phone that was ringing.
Standing up, I stopped midway once I saw that I had a dick. Placing a hand on my chest, I saw that my boobs were gone. "Did someone turn me into a man?" I asked, tossing the door to the shower open and walking over to the mirror, where I cleaned off the fog and saw that I was in Dakota's body. "Hey, I'm in handsome!" I said, rubbing my jaw and felt that he had recently shaved. Hearing another phone ring, I looked at the pile of clothes on the ground and started going through them until I found it. "Who is it?" I asked, already having a good Idea on who.
"Wolverine, we switched bodies, you, me and Ghost Spider." Dakota said as I started messing with his junk. "Get to the Midtown High." Dakota said as I nodded my head as I wasnt really paying attention, just focused on getting him turned on, I wanted to see how big he could get.
"Oh yeah? Is that why I woke up in the shower? Weird, but whatever." I answered, then hanging up once I got my answer to the size question. "Welp, time to go!" I said, walking out without any clothes as there was no way I was wearing his business uniform.
Earlier, Gwen's POV
Opening my eyes, I saw a closeup photo of Dakota and some black-haired girl, back when Dakota wasnt Creed or Assassin, this was back when he was in Band. The girl had a black and white striped Tank Top with Gloves, Black skinny jeans. I couldn't see below that. She looked board, but Dakota looked genuinely happy. I hadn't seen Dakota smile like that in some time, it made my heart hurt at the thought of it.
Putting the photo to the side, I saw that I was in a trashy hotel room. "The hell?" I questioned as I sat up, then grabbed my throat. "The hell?!" I said once more as it wasnt my voice. Making my way over to the bathroom, I saw that I was wearing Wolverines costume, female at that. Taking off the mask, I saw that I was the same girl in the photo, shocking me that Dakota and this girl knew each other.
Pulling the mask back down, I looked at my chest and grabbed them, frowning. "There is no way that she is bigger than me!" I nearly yelled as I stormed over to the phone, with my claws popping out, scaring me as one came out of my foot. "She has a claw in her foot!?" I yelled, tripping over said claw and onto the bed.
Grabbing the phone, I dialed my number, hoping that Wolverine answered. Hearing someone answer, I heard my voice on the other end. "Gwen, where is my body!" They questioned as I looked at the TV.
"Wolverine, I really need you to tell me that we aren't in each other's bodies right now!" I told my body, hoping that this was a dream.
"Wolverine? Gwen, its Dakota! I am in your body!" I heard, with me gasping at what was just said.
"Wait, If I am in Wolverines body, and you are in mine... who is in yours?" I asked, afraid that Wolverine was in Dakota's body seeing as she kind of has a thing for him.
Hearing a knock on the door, I looked at it. "Room Service!" They said, in a deep, savage voice.
"One moment please!" I Said, with said person breaking the door down, showing Sabretooth in all his glory.
"It's Sabretooth, and Its time for another lesson in pain!" He yelled, jumping and slashing at me, with me moving out of the way.
"Ok, I really need some help with this angry cat person!" I called out, rolling and jumping away from the Mutant the best that I could, seeing as it was agile like my own, just not as much.
"Get to the school, we will deal with Sabretooth here!" Dakota said, hanging up.
"Ok, new plan, RUN!" I yelled, jumping out the window as that was the smartest plan I had. Once I landed on the ground, I picked up a rock and tossed it at the window, smacking Sabretooth in the head and watching him land in the dumpster. "Score!" I said, jumping at the wall, only to slid back down. "Right, I am not myself, but Wolverine!" I Said, running away.
Getting tackled to the ground, we both hit a car and rolled on the ground, with Sabretooth on top of me. Standing up, Sabretooth grabbed me by the hair, making me face him. "You are taking all the fun out of this!" He said, with me kicking him in the face to get free.
"Sorry, not her, wrong person!" I said, running around the corner, nearly bumping into a man and his Chiwawa. "Aw, what a cute puppy!" I said, looking back at it as I ran, only to watch sabretooth scream in its face, scaring the living shit out of the dog as it dragged its owner with it to get away. "SERIOUS?!" I yelled, not wanting to become some chew toy to a cat lover.
Later, Dakota's POV
Watching Wolverine, who was Gwen, run towards the school like a chicken who had its head cut off, I jumped off the school roof and landed on ground. "Ghost Spider, where is Sabretooth?" I questioned as I walked over to her, with her jerking her thumb behind her.
"Kitty Cat? I am pretty sure I lost them, but knowing me, my luck says other ways." Gwen said, with my head hurting. Everything was moving extremely slow, and it was like I could see everywhere at once. Looking up, I grabbed Gwen and jumped towards the school wall, where Sabretooth landed right where we were standing. "It's not fun, is it?" Gwen asked, with me looking at her.
"Is this what you feel all the time? Talk about a splitting headache!" I said, taking her wrists and putting her web shooters on her. "Those are yours, use them!" I said, rushing towards Sabretooth.
"Wait, what about you?!" Gwen called, swinging into the fight. Getting a headache, I saw Sabretooth was about to pounce. Jumping myself, I jumped over him and landed behind him. Watching him turn towards me, I put both of my hands together and hit him with an upper cut, where Gwen webbed beside him and pulled herself down, kicking him in the cut with a loud bang.
Hearing something familiar, I looked up and saw Me, who was Wolverine, come flying down on my hoverboard. I watched as she crashed into the ground, then rolled until she reached me. "Agent Creed reporting for duty!" She said while on the ground, with me turning away from her and watching as Gwen was being swung around like a rag doll.
"Hand me my sword!" I said, holding my hand out, with Wolverine standing up and passing me my sword, where she then extended my hidden blades. We rushed towards Sabretooth, both of us slashing at his arm, making him release Gwen. Ducking under a slash, Wolverine stabbed his knees, getting a roar from him. Slashing at her, I jumped over and slashed his back down the spine, getting another roar from him.
Feeling another headache, I leaned back and watched as his claw went over my head. Watching a web connect with his arm, he was them pulled right back over me. Slashing at him over and over, I moved around him as he tried cutting me with his free arm. Wolverine stabbed him in his shoulder blades, getting an even louder scream as she used my strength to overpower him, but it wasnt going to work as he was stronger than me. Seeing another web hit his leg, he was tripped, sending Wolverine flying towards me.
Catching her, I used the momentum to toss her back at Sabretooth, where she stabbed his legs, getting another roar from him. Walking over, I stabbed his free arm with the sword, down to the hilt. He tried lifting it, but then the others arrived. "We got it!" Nova yelled as he flew over with a balloon. "One homemade knockout gas, coming right up!" He said, spraying it in Sabretooths face while Luke and Danny rushed over to hold him down.
Watching as he struggled less and less, we all relaxed once he stopped. "Great, now how do we switch your bodies?" Ava asked, crossing her arms.
"We go to the source of this problem." I said, looking at Wolverine, who was walking away with my hoverboard. "And where do you think you are going?" I questioned, with her stopping in her tracks and then turning to face me. She jumped on the hover board and started taking off, making me groan. "Lila's Song!" I called out, with the hoverboard tossing Wolverine off and coming over to me, where it stopped and tossed a knife out, with me catching my mother's dagger, Lila's Dagger.
"I still remember." Wolverine said, more like sang, as she stood up and looking at me. "Why did it go so fast?" She asked, with me walking over to her.
"When we said good-bye." I said, with her smirking at me. "I've only told that song to four people." I said, crossing my arms. "Two of which are dead, one of them by my own hands. I'm inside the other, so that makes you that girl from all those years ago." I said, with me remembering that day.
Flashback, two years before Peters Death
Walking over towards the shack that used to be my mother's place, I saw that it was even worse to look at. I had just gotten in a physical altercation with my father, with me tunning away with nothing but my skateboard and drumsticks. This was normal for me, for us. I would get beaten, I would run away, come here and eventually he would find me. Once he did, he would drag me back home.
Walking up to the door, a makeshift one at that, I pushed it to the side and walked in. Once I stepped in, I closed it behind me. Stepping over to the pantry, I opened it and saw that some of her military food packets were missing. Taking another look the other round the room, I could tell that someone had been staying here. This was no longer my mother's home, it belonged to another.
Walking over to the bed and pick it up and took out a book. The book was called portraits of the eagle. As it was the last gift that my mother had given me, and I was too afraid to open. Because I knew that if I did, and that would mean that she was truly gone, something I knew but didn't want to accept.
Hearing the entrance open, I turned to saw a girl enter. She was wearing a dirty black and white striped shirt, black gloves, and black baggy jeans. She wore black combat boots that you would find a soldier wearing, and it was clear that they were damaged in the front. She looked at me, her eyes were empty, dead even. It was clear that she had been through a lot, more than I have.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to barge in." I said when she started walking up to me. Moving out of the way, she grabbed a bag that was a bed. From there, she pulled out a tank top that was also black and white striped. She removed her shirt and replaced it, not caring that I was standing in front of her.
"You used to stay here; I get it." She said, looking at me. "Take your stuff and go, this is my place now!" She said, with me taking notice to the wrist band on her arm. My mother had one, she said that it was a sign that she was owned by a Pimp, Cordova if I remember. I met him once; he came here to pay my mother in person for her previous job. He was a strange one, because back then, I didn't know what a pimp was, but he didn't treat her like a prostitute, even though she was one.
"Cordova." I said, with her jerking her head in my direction. "It's been years since I had seen, let alone thought, of that man." I said, reaching her her wrist, with her pulling her arm away. "Sorry, he owned my mother, I never guessed that he would do the same with someone around my age." I said, with her looking at her wrist.
"No one owns me." She said, tearing it off without much problem. "Cordova is dead, he died earlier today." She said, with me sitting on the bed. Seeing my actions, she sat down on the bed as well, but on the far side of me. "Cordova found me, took me in and told me the ways of the world. Some good, most... bad. Told me that with my talents, I could make a name for myself. I did as he said, and it cost him his life once his boss found out that Cordova planed on killing him." She explained, with me nodding.
'I was right, she has it worse than I do.' I thought, smiling at her. "When I feel down, I come here, because it is the last place, I saw my mother alive." I said, looking around the room and seeing images of my mother and I around the room, doing everyday things. "It's the only place I can hear her voice." I said, looking down. "She knew when I was sad, almost like she was reading me like a book. She would sing me this song she had been working on, but she could never finish it." I said, looking at her as she had her eyes on me.
"A song?" She said, scuffing at that. "If you remember it, sing it, hell, finish it if it isn't complete!" She said, rolling her eyes. "I don't need things like that, it won't help people survive in this world." She said, with me shaking my head at her.
"You can't finish someone else's song. Doing so, is damaging to their soul." I said, watching as she jerked her head in my direction. "Lila's Song, my mother's song. Can only be finished through her and her alone. She may not be here to finish it, but she is in the afterlife, finishing it. She wouldn't want to finish it yet; she would want me there to hear it when she does." I said, leaning forward. "As for not helping one survive, I am living proof that it does." I said as I leaned back.
"Lets hear it, and I will be the judge of that." She said, her eyes still trained on me. "If you say you are proof that it helps one survive, then lets hear it!" She said, with me smiling at that.
"Ok, but don't blame me when you can't forget it!" I said, with her smirking as I said that. Clearing my throat, I sat up straight. "I still remember. Why did it go so fast? When we said good-bye. Why can't our times ever last? Do you remember me? Once I called you my own. It's no fun alone. Sadness isn't apart of you. No sad memories shall roll away. Every day I go to the window, hoping to see your face. I miss you; I love you; I wish you here were." I sang, then stopped. "As I said, it isn't finished." I said, frowning as that was the last of it. It was short,
She shook her head, a smile on her face. "I would have preferred her to sing it, your voice sucks." She said, with me nodding as I didn't have her kind of voice. "But I can see why you would hold onto it, and how it helped you survive." She said, standing up. "Come on, we're leaving!' She said, confusing me on where she wanted to go or why she wanted to drag me with her.
"Where exactly?" I asked, with her shrugging as she grabbed my arm and dragged me with her.
Later, mall
"Ok, so Video games are not your thing!" I said, making that off the list of fun things. I had beaten her easily, and she didn't get the idea of it and even hated them. "Laser tag, you are a beast in, unhit as well as the highest score." I said, remembering how she would move so fast and take everyone out before they knew it. Clothing stores are out, because you hate their styles, except for Hot Topic, which I can understand!" I said, with her glaring at me as I mentioned her new favorite place like I didn't like it. "Hey, no judging! It is a good place!" I said, with her going back to her drink as we continued to walk around, until we spotted a photo setup.
"That looks fun." She said, with me nodding as it did. She grabbed my arm and dragged me over to it. "Yo, we would like a picture taken!" She said, with me blinking at what she said.
The camera man turned to us and nodded. "Alright, full body is twenty-five, half body is fifteen, close up is ten." He said, with me reaching into my pocket to pull out the cash for the full body.
"Half body!" She said, pulling out a wad of cash, a large sum at that. "Keep that as a tip!" She said, dragging me over to the blue screen and standing in front of it.
"Ok, I'm not complaining!" He said, moving over to the camera and making some adjustments to it. "Ok, on three, say Cheese!" He said, holding up three fingers and started counting down before taking the photo.
Flashback end
"Laura.' I said, with her nodding. "Last I heard, you were going to San Francisco for family, I guess that was Wolverine?" I asked, with her shaking her head.
"My mother's side of the family. After that, I came back to kill Wolverine, but once we had a sit down, I joined them. Never could get you out of my head. It was you who made me go in search for family." She said, with me smiling at that.
"Good to hear, now how about we go talk to the person behind our situation?" I asked, with her nodding.
"Lets!" She said, both of us looking at Gwen, who was scratching her head at what was going on.
Later, SHIELD holding cells
Entering Mesmero's cell, I grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall. 'Ok, your fun is over, change us back!" I said, with Gwen walking over to us.
"Or I will count to three!" She said, with both claws popping out, then back in. "How do you control these things?" She asked, looking over at Laura, who rolled her eyes at that.
"Focus." She said, walking over as well and extending my hidden blades and placing them at his neck. "She may not know how, but I can use these with ease! So, do I count down, or up?" She asked, grinning. "And trust me, the first number will be a slash!" She said, with him holding his hands up.
"Ok, Ok, I yield!" He said, with me finding myself back in my body. Putting the blades away, I looked at Gwen and took my sword back while Laura put her claws away.
"Pleasure doing business with you!" I said, kicking him in the groin, watching as he fell onto the ground with a groan. "Pull something like this again, and there will be hell to pay!" I said as I pointed at him and then left with the others.
