WHO IS DEADLIEST?!

Here in our elite fight club, we have gathered doctors, scientists and weapons experts to test out the lethal arsenals wielded by each of our combatants to determine who would win a fight when two fictional warriors go head to head.

No rules. No safety. No mercy. It's a duel to the death to decide who is...THE FICTIONAL DEADLIEST WARRIOR!

Using 21st century science, we will see what happens when two fictional warriors clash in a simulated battle:

Telmarine

Appearing from: Prince Caspian: Return to Narnia (1951 novel), (2008 film)

Loyalty: Telmarine Monarchy

Height: 5' 8"

Weight: 150 lbs.

Armor: Brigandine over Chainmail, Morion Helmet with face plate, and Tower Shield

Iron Legion

Appearing from: For Honor (2017)

Loyalty: Ashfeld

Height: 6'

Weight: 190 lbs.

Armor: Full Plate Armor over Gambeson, Steel Helmet, and Kite Shield

"Today we have a battle between two heavily armored warriors inspired by real-life counterparts. In one corner, we have the Telmarines, the conquerors of Narnia. In the other we have the Iron Legion, the defenders of Ashfeld," biomedical scientist Bradley Foster started.

"These are both front line forces hard wired for warfare," trauma doctor Joseph Kaiser followed, "They are both in a constant state of battle and thus, have to be on top of their game at all times. They are used to constantly training and spending lots of time in heavy armor, meaning they are kept in superior physical conditioning."

"We are talking Medieval here," computer expert Eddie Cortez added, "They bring swords and polearms to the front line. Not only that, for the first time ever, we are going to be featuring crew operated siege weapons!" he said, barely able to contain his excitement.

"Well, then we've got some testing to do," Bradley concluded.

The camera cuts to a young man with dark, shoulder-length brown hair and clad in leather and chain mail armor. He has a cutlass-like sword he takes a few practice swings with.

Up first to represent the Telmarines will be Caspian X.

A member of the Telmarine Dynasty and the rightful King of Narnia, he brings extensive knowledge of his peoples' weapons and tactics to today's battle.

"The Telmarines were ruthless warriors in battle and because of that, they were able to conquer the mighty land of Narnia," Caspian spoke.

The camera then focuses on a blond-haired man in leather armor who is shown doing some practice thrusts with a halberd.

Also representing the Telmarines will be Peter Pevensie.

The High King who reigned over the Kingdom of Narnia during its Golden Age, he would return alongside his siblings to battle the Telmarines and bring down their corrupt King Miraz.

"The Telmarines conquered Narnia during our time away. We had to help the Old Narnians reclaim their land in one of those most difficult battles we ever fought," Peter spoke.

The Telmarines had their beginnings when a group of pirates intermarried with women from islands in the Pacific. These pirates would find a cave on an island that led into the world of Narnia, finding the land of Telmar uninhabited and setting up a colony that prospered for many years. However, a famine would hit their adopted homeland.

"Terrible times had befallen my people. We needed to seek new lands and it would be when my ancestor Caspian I happened upon the Kingdom of Narnia after it had fallen into disarray," Caspian spoke.

Following their arrival, the Telmarines would set about conquering the foreign land, starting with the Siege of Beaversdam, followed by a series of victories that led to the destruction of the Narnian palace and the defeat of the Army of Narnia at the Battle of Cair Paravel. From there, they would establish a dynasty that lasted for over 300 years.

"They triumphed because they had advanced armor and tactics unlike anything the Old Narnians had ever encountered in battle. It wasn't until my siblings returned we were able to defeat them and restore Caspian to his rightful throne," Peter concluded.

The ruthless pirate swung into combat with an arsenal that enabled him to conquer Narnia:

Short Range: Telmar Saber

Mid-Range: Halberd

Long Range: Ballista

Special Weapon: Espada Ropera

But how will the Telmarine stand when he is pitted against a mighty armored defender?

The camera cuts to an older bald man with a gray beard clad in scaled armor, which include a pauldron with an elaborately crafted lion's head. He picks up a poleaxe and makes sure it is well sharpened before looking to the camera.

Up first representing the Iron Legion will be Holden Cross.

A veteran knight and mercenary who later rose to a prominent position in the Legion, he has stood on the front lines in some of their toughest battles and can attest to their toughness.

"The Iron Legion is comprised of the fiercest, most dedicated warriors from all of Ashfeld. These Telmarines are signing their death warrant in challenging us," Holden spoke.

The camera then cuts to another armored man wearing a helm with a skull atop it. He is holding a shield in one hand as he holds a flail in the other, taking a few practice swings with it.

Also on hand to represent the Iron Legion will be Stone.

A high-ranking lieutenant in the new Iron Legion, he has partaken in various conflicts against the Legion's foes.

"We've fought Vikings and samurai and come out on top. A few puny pirates are nothing to us," Stone spoke.

Tracing its origins back to the days of the Great Empire, the Iron Legion was composed of several legions having united under one banner. They fought on the front lines against the Samurai and Viking threats from distant lands, yet once the war had ended, the Legion fell into stagnation.

"We grew complacent and disorganized. Many of our number deserted without consequence. The Vikings would eventually resume their raids, catching us off guard. We were force to retreat, abandoning the people we had sworn to protect," Holden spoke.

With the Iron Legion in shambles, many remnants were absorbed into the Blackstone Legion. The cooperation would not last as several rebellions arose within their ranks and a small group of dissenters would come together to reform the Iron Legion, followed by more defectors. The new Legion would soon align with the Dawn Empire to lay siege to Blackstone Fortress, leading to its eventual collapse.

"The new Iron Legion rose up to become even more powerful than the old one. We didn't accomplish that by playing nice and we're not about to start. The Telmarines can count on that," Stone concluded.

The Iron Legion took on all threats with a metallic arsenal that spilled blood across the land:

Short Range: Longsword

Mid-Range: Poleaxe

Long Range: Torsion Catapult

Special Weapon: Footman's Flail

Both warriors were trained to be fierce close combatants and they each carried the sharpest swords for cutting down their foes.

For the Telmarine, he carried a cutlass-like saber for slicing through all foes in his way, the Telmar Saber.

(A Telmarine is shown cutting down a black dwarf with a slash from his saber.)

Telmar Saber

Single-Sided

Length: 2.5 ft.

Weight: 3.34 lbs.

Material: Steel

"This was the blade of my people," Caspian said showing off the saber for the panelists, "It's design was inspired by the cutlasses of our pirate ancestors. Quick and lethal."

"We've seen similar blades on here before, yet we need to see what kind of different techniques the Telmarines can bring into battle. We've set up 3 targets for you to test your blade on," Bradley said motioning to the targets, which included 2 slabs of beef and one suspended pig carcass.

"Very well," Caspian said taking his position.

"Caspian, are you ready?" Bradley called out.

"I'm ready!" he called back.

"Then on 3...2...1, cut 'em up!"

Caspian charged at the first slab of beef and swung his blade, leaving a deep incision. He then set his sights on the second slab and repeated the process, leaving another deep tear. He then set his sights on the pig carcass and swung at its gut, tearing through the skin and leaving its guts spilling out, before following up with another slash that cut deep into the pig's neck.

"Dinner is prepared," Dr. Kaiser chuckled as he went over to inspect the damage done, starting with the beef slabs.

"Both of your strikes penetrate deep enough to cut past ribs and into lung. These are both quick kills," he said before making his way over to the pig.

"In one slash you've disemboweled this pig and with another, you delivered a functional decapitation. Altogether, you have 3 kills," the good doctor concluded.

"Very one-dimensional," Holden scoffed, "We've got a blade that can slash and stab through anything you throw in front of us, be it man or beast."

Answering the challenge, the Iron Legion slashes back with a trusted killer of the Medieval ages, the Longsword.

(A Legion Warden is shown driving his sword through the gut of a Viking Raider before pulling the blade out and hacking into his throat.)

Longsword

Double-Sided

Length: 3 ft.

Weight: 3 lbs.

Material: Steel

"This is yet a small fraction of the steel we bring to battle," Holden said showing off the longsword for the panelists, "With this sword, we've spilled gallons of Viking and Samurai blood across the lands."

"It's the same test for you, Holden. You've got 3 attacking Telmarines and we want to see how effective your sword is against them," Bradley said motioning to the newly replaced beef slabs and pig carcass.

"Consider it done," Holden said taking his position.

"Holden, are you ready?" Bradley called out.

"I am!" he shouted back.

"Then on 3...2...1, hack 'em up!"

Holden let out a mighty shout as he swung his blade at the first beef slab before following up with a stab that pierced the opposite side of the slab. He swiftly withdrew the blade and repeated the process with the second beef slab before turning his attention to the pig carcass, delivering a charging slash that separated the pig's lower half before following up with a stab that went through the pig's neck and out the opposite end.

"No mercy. Just how we like it," Dr. Kaiser said as he went over to examine the targets, "Your longsword cuts just as good as the saber and your sharpened point punches all the way through on both of your targets," he remarked after examining the second target and then made his way over to the pig.

"In one full swoop, you cut this poor bastard in half and then your stab just tore through his throat and out the other end. Very impressive," the trauma doctor concluded.

"It's not over yet," Bradley called out, "Your blades have shown what they can do against unarmored targets, yet how would they fare against the armor of your opponents?"

Bradley then motioned towards two additional targets, outfitted in the armor of a Telmarine and an Iron Legion soldier respectively.

"Here we have two ballistic gel targets clad in the armor of the opposing army, each with body armor, helmets and shields. We want to see how your blades hold up against each piece of armor and you each have 15 seconds to make your case," Bradley explained.

Caspian and Holden nodded and took their places.

"Take it easy with that blade, boy. That's not a toy you know," Holden smirked.

"Are you sure you won't be tired out in the end, old man?" Caspian shot back.

"Save it for your targets, gentlemen," Bradley piped in, "And on 3...2...1, attack!"

Both men charged their targets with mighty war cries.

Caspian was first to strike, swinging his blade into the kite shield, yet only managing to make a small scratch. He followed up with a strike to the plate armor, only to be met by a jarring 'clang.' He followed up with a strike to the helm, yet only made another small scratch.

Meanwhile, Holden charged the Telmarine target and swung his sword at its tower shield, only to leave a scratch in its surface. He followed up with a swing directed at the brigandine, yet only scratched the surface. He then followed up with a thrusting attack, yet only left a hole. He then followed up with a strike to the morion helmet, only to be met with a jarring 'clang.'

"Time!" Bradley called out.

Dr. Kaiser made his way over to assess the damage, starting with Caspian's target.

"With your first strike to the kite shield, you failed to achieve any adequate damage, nor did you generate the force necessary to break any bones in the user's arm. With your strike to the cuirass, you again fail to generate enough force for breaking any bones. You might knock the wind out of the wearer and that's it. Again with the helmet, you only leave minor scratches behind and might stun the wearer, but not do enough to damage his skull. This guy is probably dazed, but not out of the fight."

The trauma doctor then made his way over to the other target and examined the armor.

"As for our other friend here, again his shield held firm and there wasn't enough force to break any bones in his arm. As for your strikes to the brigandine, your first swing again only leaves a scratch and your thrust failed to connect with any weaker spots, leaving only a small hole behind. As for the helmet strike, only scratches are left behind. You might give him a headache and that's it," the good doctor concluded.

Both blades showed what they could do, but where do our panelists stand?

"Normally, I would like the longsword as it offers more options aside from slashing, yet when you factor in the Telmarine's armor, I'm forced to call this a draw," Bradley started.

"I agree. The brigandine has its weak spots where a blade could penetrate between the steel plates, but you've gotta find it to make it count. The saber itself struggled with the Legion's armor. To me, this is a draw," Dr. Kaiser seconded.

"I have to go with both of you on this one. The armor held firm for a draw," Eddie concluded.

In short range weapons, our warriors are even.

Coming up, both sides will break out some nasty polearms in an effort to cut their opponent down.

XXXXXX

The Telmarines and the Iron Legion, a battle between a fierce conqueror and a fierce protector.

"The Telmarines conquered a land and made it their own. The Iron Legion could barely hold their fortresses to bands of undisciplined raiders," Peter spoke.

"The Telmarines got lucky they found an army that was a shadow of its former self. The Iron Legion might have fallen, but came back stronger than ever," Stone countered.

When their blades failed them, both sides utilized nasty polearms to cut their foes down.

For the Iron Legion, they relied upon the trusted Poleaxe to cut their enemies down.

(A Legion Lawbringer is shown swinging the blunt end of his poleaxe into the gut of a Samurai Orochi before bringing the sharp end down to behead him.)

Poleaxe

Length: 7 ft.

Weight: 5 lbs.

Material: Steel head, wooden shaft

"This is another commonly preferred weapon of Legion infantry forces," Holden said showing off the poleaxe for the panelists, "It's one of the most versatile weapons ever made. It has a sharp end for slicing, a blunt end I can use for bashing, and a spike on top for perfect thrusting attacks."

"It's similar to what we've seen before, yet it still brings its differences and we want to see what it can do against both an unarmored and an armored opponent," Bradley said motioning to two targets, "Up first, we have a large side of beef that we want you to demonstrate all three ends on. After that, we have a gel torso clad in the body armor and helmet of a Telmarine, along with one of their tower shields. You have 15 seconds. Make them count."

Holden nodded and got into position.

"Holden, are you ready?"

"Ready!" he called back.

"Then on 3...2...1, take 'em down!"

Holden drove the poleaxe's spike into the slab before pulling out and doing it again. He then swung the bladed end into it before repeating the process and then flipping it over onto its blunt end before swinging it as hard as he could, tearing a large chunk out of the surface.

With the beef slab taken care of, he set his sights on the armored target and swung the blunt end of his poleaxe into the tower shield, rocking it violently before flipping it onto its bladed end and swinging into the surface.

Holden grabbed the shield and tore it away from the armored target before he drove his spike through the brigandine before ripping it out, then turning his poleaxe sideways and swinging the blunt end into its chest. He then raised the poleaxe one final time and brought its blade down onto the helmet, leaving a sizeable dent near its crest.

"Damn, even all that armor and that was still brutal as hell!" Eddie exclaimed.

Dr. Kaiser made his way over to assess the damage done to both targets, starting with the beef slab.

"Indeed it was," he spoke as he traced along some of the fresh holes left behind, "Your stabs from the poleaxe's spike go all the way through, including one that would have pierced the spinal cord. Not only that, one of your hacking strikes manages to sever 6 inches into the thickest part of the femur, which would have resulted in a quick bleed out and another kill. Your blunt strikes also hit hard enough to tear through the flesh and shatter the ribs beneath. That would be a nightmare with fragments spreading about like that."

He then made his way over to examine the remnants of the armored target.

"The tower shield took some damage, but otherwise managed to withstand your attacks. However, we read that you did generate 470 psi, enough force to break at least one bone in the arm behind the shield," he said while setting the shield aside and examining both the armor and helm.

"You managed to find one of the weaker spots of the brigandine and you punched through his liver for a mortal wound. As for your strikes from both ends, you are causing broken ribs and possible punctures of vital organs beneath, in addition to another heart contusion. We have a series of delayed kills at least," he said before removing the dented helmet, "Your blow to this guy's helmet wasn't enough to cause a skull fracture, but it would disorientate him. All in all, a very impressive showing."

"Feeling intimidated, Peter?" Bradley asked the eldest Pevensie sibling.

"Not at all. The Legion thinks their armor will protect them? We've got something that will cut them down just as effectively," he replied.

The Telmarines strike back with their own deadly polearm, the Halberd.

(A Telmarine foot soldier is shown driving his halberd's spike through the chest of an attacking minotaur before then driving the blade end into its skull.)

Halberd

Length: 9 ft.

Weight: 6.5 lbs.

Material: Steel head, wooden shaft

"We previously saw the halberd featured in our 'Italian Assassin vs. Lin Kuei' battle, but we have yet to see it in action against the kind of armor worn by the Iron Legion," Bradley explained before motioning towards another target, "Here, we have a gel torso outfitted in the plate armor and helm of a Legion soldier, complete with a kite shield. Peter, you have 15 seconds to inflict as much damage as you can. When you are ready."

"Very well," Peter said taking his position.

"Alright Peter, on 3...2...1, hack 'em up!"

Peter swung his halberd into the kite shield, taking a chunk out of its surface before swinging again. Using the halberd's fluke, he pried the kite shield away and then drove the halberd's spike into the armored torso, managing to pierce the steel surface. He pulled out and then brought the blade end down onto the collar before going for a side swing into the torso's stomach again. He then set his sights on the helm and brought the fluke end down before going for a swing with the axe end, leaving another large dent behind.

"Damn, this guy still didn't stand a chance!" Eddie commented.

Dr. Kaiser went to examine the target, "Indeed, you're right. You swung hard enough to break a bone in the arm underneath, leaving him a virtual sitting duck. Once he got past that and went for the torso, he manages to pierce the surface, yet he might only manage to wound his opponent with his piercing attack, especially if he is wearing an extra layer beneath that steel. However, he did generate enough force to possible break a couple ribs with his side swing, along with internal bleeding. Your strike to the collarbone area would shatter the bones beneath. Your blow to the head from the fluke managed to pierce the helmet and went deep enough to pierce the brain for a kill."

"It took him some time, but he pulled it off," Caspian commented.

"With the armor used by the Legion, it'll take him too damn long and by then, he'll be dead!" Stone shot back. "That winter coat of yours is nothing compared to the Legion's armor."

Both polearms showed off their deadly versatility, but where do our panelists stand?

"This is far too close to call for me. They both have that deadly versatility that makes them a threat to whoever the weapon is used against and they've shown they can get past armor. For me, this is dead even," Bradley started.

"The halberd possesses the greater reach, yet the poleaxe was used on a type of armor with its glaring weak points. Given both circumstances we are facing in this battle, I call it even," Dr. Kaiser seconded.

"From what I saw in both these tests, I'm inclined to agree. Edge even," Eddie concluded.

In mid-range weapons, our warriors are even.

Coming up, for the first time ever on this show, two deadly siege weapons are put to the test.

XXXXXX

The Telmarine and the Iron Legion, two deadly armored warriors about to clash for the very first time.

"The Telmarines fell to an army of critters that were led by a group of kids! I can't see how they'd be in any position to threaten us," Stone scoffed.

"The Iron Legion might have been dangerous back in their day, but it didn't take them long to get complacent. It took them even less time to fall apart," Caspian spoke.

When both combatants needed to weaken their enemies' defenses, they relied upon deadly siege weaponry to wear them down before delivering the killing blow.

For the Telmarines, they relied upon a super-sized killing machine born in Ancient Greece, the Ballista.

(A Telmarine is shown loading a bolt into the Ballista before another pulls the lever, launching the bolt into the chest of a charging ogre.)

Ballista

Effective Range: 500 yards

Ammo: 4 ft. bolts

Capacity: Single Shot

The action has now moved to the outside range and the Telmarine experts stand before a makeshift fortress wall with their siege weapon at the ready.

"This is the ballista, inspired by those of the ancient Greeks from your world," Caspian said introducing the siege weapon to the panelists.

"It looks like a gigantic crossbow," Eddie commented.

"You could consider it the ancient world's howitzer," Peter added.

"We used these to great effect in the Siege of Cair Paravel and both Battles of Aslan's How. It is drawn by hand winches, which twist the torsion springs to create a far greater power than otherwise achieved. It results in faster projectiles that can launch even further away," Caspian explained.

"This is our first time using siege weapons and we're going to put the ballista to the test in a siege-type scenario," Bradley said motioning to the wall behind him, "We have erected a makeshift castle wall with 5 Legion knights standing guard behind it, one of whom is clad in Legion plate armor and a helmet. You have been given 5 bolts to prove your point and we want to see how effective it is when you are firing from 100 yards away."

Caspian and Peter nodded to one another and took their positions.

Both men made the necessary adjustments to make sure the bolt would go over the wall. Peter then loaded the bolt while Caspian cranked it into place and with a nod, he launched it and the bolt flew over the wall and into the shoulder of a foam target.

"I clocked that in at 198 mph," Eddie said taking a reading from a radar gun, "He would've never seen that coming until it was too late."

Peter quickly got to work loading the next bolt before Caspian pulled the lever and sent the second bolt flying, hitting the armored target in its chest. The duo repeated the process, sending their third bolt flying into the face of the target closest to the armored one. They grabbed the fourth bolt and launched it, but it again hit the first target, this time in the stomach. There was only one bolt left and they quickly loaded it, firing it again into the armored target, not far from the first bolt.

"Very nicely done," Bradley said before looking to his stopwatch, "You pulled this off with an average reload time of 54 seconds."

Dr. Kaiser made his way into the makeshift fortress to assess the damage done, starting with the first target.

"Your first bolt tore through this guy's shoulder, not only crippling his arm completely, but also severing vital arteries for a kill shot. Your second bolt went through the small intestine for a very slow, painful bleed out," he said before approaching the other unarmored target that was hit.

"This guy you hit in the dead center of his face. It's literally lights out for him the second it connects," the good doctor commented before making his way over to the armored target.

He struggled to pull out both bolts before removing the plate armor and examining the wounds. "The bolts did their job. This armored failed to hold up against them with the first shot through the heart for an instant kill. Your second shot collapses his lung and if not for the armor, would have been sticking out through the back, another kill shot. Altogether, you have 3 kills and 2 guys left unharmed and able to continue the fight," he concluded.

"From what I understand, they are using an outdated piece of equipment, one that was superseded by what we bring today," Holden spoke.

To counter the Ballista's assault, the Iron Legion responds with the Torsion Catapult.

(A Legion crew is shown pulling a catapult's lever, launching a flaming boulder into a Wu Lin fortress, killing several defenders as it strikes.)

Torsion Catapult

Weight: 700 lbs.

Effective Range: 100-150 yards

Ordnance: Stone or wood

"The catapult is one of the deadliest, most versatile weapons in our arsenal," Holden started, standing beside the catapult, "We have used these with great effect in past sieges against our enemies, and it's specifically designed for launching over castle walls with lesser adjustments," he said looking over to the Telmarine experts, who just shook their heads in disbelief.

"Legion experts, it's going to be the same test for you. We've got 5 targets defending an enemy garrison, including one wearing the Telmarine's brigandine and helmet. You've got 5 shots to prove your point," Bradley spoke.

"We will not fail you," Holden said looking to Stone before they took their positions.

They rolled the heavy boulder into the catapult's bucket before Stone pulled the lever and the projectile was flung over the stone wall, hitting an unarmored target right in the chest.

"Now that would leave a mark!" Eddie winced as both Legion experts repeated the process, lugging another heavy boulder over to the catapult's bucket and getting it settled before firing it over the wall and into the face of the armored target with a sickening crunch.

The Legion experts continued on with their task, loading a third boulder and launching it, yet it went to far and hit the ground behind the gathered targets.

Undeterred by the development, they loaded their fourth boulder into place and launched it over the wall, crushing a third target beneath the boulder's weight.

"How's about we spice things up a bit?" Holden suddenly called out.

Both men rolled the boulder into the bucket and Holden proceeded to cover it in pitch before using a torch to light it ablaze.

"I think I'm liking where this is going," Bradley smirked.

"Exite tantorum!" Holden shouted.

On cue, Stone pulled the lever and the flaming boulder was launched over the wall, striking the ground in a fiery blaze that swallowed up the fourth target and sent flaming shrapnel into the last target nearby.

"Literally raining down hellfire!" Eddie added.

"You had an average reload time of 1.1 seconds, with an average velocity of 36 mph," Bradley reported from his gathered readings.

Dr. Kaiser made his way over to assess the damage done to the targets.

"With your first guy, you hit him with dead on perfection. Whether or not he was armored, his organs are liquefied," he reported before making his way over to the armored target.

It was a bit of a struggle, but Dr. Kaiser managed to remove the crumpled Morion helmet.

"Damn, you crushed this like a soda can!" he said before checking the target's head, "Humpty Dumpty isn't getting put back together again!" he exclaimed before looking over to the third target, "And neither is this guy. He has been steam rolled."

He then made his way over to assess the last targets, "With your fourth guy, the boulder didn't hit him head on, yet he would have been immolated by the flames, only exacerbated by the pitch covering the boulder, he's dead either way," he said before approaching the final target and noticing the large gash in the side of his neck, "This guy right here was killed by flaming shrapnel alone, tearing through his carotid. All in all, you have 5 kills. Good job!"

"It's very easy to see a large rock coming at you while it's airborne. Enemy soldiers would know to get out of the way. Our bolts move so fast, you'd never see them coming," Peter spoke up.

"Yet, you would need a constant supply of specially crafted bolts for that," Holden countered, "All we need is anything heavy, be it stone, wood or whatever, and we are able to continue fighting."

Both siege engines tore through their targets, yet where do our panelists stand?

"I'll admit I was impressed by the damage the catapult was able to dish out, especially when it goes 'flame on,' but it's larger and heavier to move around, whereas the ballista is more portable, quicker to reload, and its projectiles fire much quicker you'd never see them coming until it was too late. I'm giving my edge to the ballista," Eddie started.

"The catapult on the other hand has ammo that is easier to find, can do more damage and it can be much more psychologically traumatizing, especially when you factor in the flaming boulders. Edge catapult," Dr. Kaiser countered.

The tiebreaker would fall down to Bradley.

"While the ballista certainly possesses its strengths, I was personally more impressed at the amount of damage the catapult was able to dish out, especially when the flaming boulders were employed. Not only that, the ballista required special ammunition, whereas ammo can be found more easily for the catapult. My edge goes to the catapult," he concluded.

In long range weapons, the Iron Legion takes the edge with the Torsion Catapult.

Coming up, it's the final stretch as special weapons are brought into play.

And then later, the Telmarines and the Iron Legion clash for the very first time!

XXXXX

The time has now come for both sides to break out their special weapons for the killing blow.

When the Iron Legion needed to deliver the final blow, they relied upon a deadly swinging killer to strike an enemy by surprise, the Footman's Flail.

(A Legion Conqueror swings his flail into the face of an attacking pirate.)

Footman's Flail

Length: 3 ft.

Weight: 8.4 lbs.

Material: Wood, iron and steel

"This is one of the most vicious weapons in our arsenal, used only by our heavy infantry," Stone said showing off his flail for the panelists, "I get enough momentum with one of these, I can crush bones into sawdust, or even crunch their armor."

"Well, then let's see if you can back up your words," Bradley said motioning towards 2 targets, "We have 2 ballistic gel busts here, one of which is wearing the Telmarine's morion helmet. We want to see how much damage you can do to both."

"Right," Stone nodded while getting into position.

"Then on 3...2...1, bash 'em up!"

Stone brought his flail down on top of the first target's head, its spiked ball tearing through the skull with even more gore spilling out as the ball was pulled away. He then swung again into the side of the target's face in another gory, tearing motion before going for two more strikes that left only a bloody mess behind.

Turning his attention to the armored bust, he swings and strikes with a jarring blow that violently rocked the bust, yet only left a large dent in the helm. He swung again, but was only able to inflict another dent and he retreated with a disappointed grunt.

"You managed to make quite the mess with our unarmored friend here," Dr. Kaiser said as he examined the first bust, "Your first strike alone tore this guy's head open, followed by another blow that shattered his cheekbone and jaw, a third strike that broke his spinal cord, and your last blow shattered his skull, removing all brain matter from the brainpan."

"And you generated a force of 1300 psi, more than 17 times the amount of force needed to fracture the human skull," Eddie added.

"As for our armored friend here," the good doctor started by removing the helmet, "I see no major damage to his skull. You're going to rock his world, possibly some minor head trauma, but he's going to live to fight another day. You are 1 for 1."

"That's fine. We'd just keep swinging away until he falls. He will sooner or later," Stone grunted.

"You gloat too soon. If you ask me, your little ball and chain brings a greater risk against its own user. Our side sword would cut you down where you stand," Caspian spoke up.

To answer the Legion's challenge, the Telmarine charges into battle with his own sneaky, yet graceful sidearm, the Espada Ropera.

(A Telmarine is shown stabbing an attacking faun with his rapier before dropping him with a slash to his throat.)

Espada Ropera

Double-Edged

Length: 35.5 in. blade

"This is the side sword commonly employed in addition to our usual saber," Caspian said showing the sword off to the panelists, "It's able to slash as effectively as our primary saber and can even thrust when needed."

"We want to see how effective your sidearm can be and we have two targets," Bradley said motioning behind up, "Up first, we have a pig carcass and then we have another gel torso outfitted in the cuirass of a Legion knight. We want to see how effectively it works against both in terms of slashing and thrusting."

"Understood," Caspian replied and got into position.

"Alright Caspian, then let him have it!"

Caspian charged the pig carcass and thrust his blade right through until it was driven through the back. He then went a little higher with his next thrust, going through the neck. He then drew back and went for a slash that cut the carcass in half.

He then set his attention on the armored torso and went for a thrusting attack that pierced the cuirass before he followed up with another thrust that also pierced the surface and yanked the blade out, delivering a slash attack that only left a dent. It wasn't over as he went for one final thrust, this time into the torso's exposed head.

"It is done," Caspian said stepping back.

"A lot more damaging than I expected too," Dr. Kaiser said as he started with the pig carcass, "Your blade goes deep enough pierce this guy's spine and then his windpipe for two instant kills, then proving strong enough to cut him in half!"

He then went over to assess the armored target, carefully taking off its armor.

"Your first strike made it through and broke the skin and went deep enough to hit the liver for a mortal wound that will kill. Your second strike went a little higher and you managed to strike the sternum, yet nothing vital. That will hurt, but not kill. It's only when you go around the armor you manage to score a definite instant kill, actually cutting the synthetic eyeball in half," he reported.

"If we can find a weak point, he is finished," Caspian countered, to which Stone chuckled.

"Plus, they bring a weapon that can be too unpredictable and even harm the user if they aren't careful," Peter added.

"Care to find our for yourself just how 'unpredictable' it can be?" Stone asked, glaring from beneath his helm.

"Hey, cut it out you two!" Bradley called out.

Both special weapons showed what they could do, but where do our panelists stand?

"While the espada ropera has its strengths, it still struggled to get past the Legion's armor. The flail can get around shields and take an enemy by surprise. Edge Legion," Bradley started.

"I disagree. As they pointed out, the flail seems to unpredictable and could possibly hurt the user if they aren't careful. Even if the espada ropera might struggle against the Legion's armor, it's still the safer bet in that regard. Edge Telmarine," Eddie countered.

The tiebreaker would fall down to Dr. Kaiser.

"Both weapons are lethal in their own ways without question. Even if the ropera's tapered end allows it to pierce the Legion's armor, it still doesn't do much. Even the footman's flail would struggle with an armored foe, but still delivers the blunt trauma that can prove problematic for such armor. My edge goes to the Iron Legion," he concluded.

In special weapons, the Iron Legion takes the edge with the Footman's Flail.

We also take into consideration the kind of heavy armor both warriors use in this battle.

It's the Telmarine's Brigandine over Chainmail along with the Morion Helmet and the Tower Shield versus the Iron Legion's Full Plate Armor over Gambeson, Steel Helmet and Kite Shield.

"Both of these sets of armor are very closely matched in terms of how well they protect the wearer. Both helmets worn provide plenty of protection for the user's face and neck, as well as large shields covering large parts of the user's body. The difference comes with body armor with the plate armor providing a larger swarth of protection, whereas the brigandine worn by the Telmarines has its weak points that could easily be exploited when found. Overall, the edge goes to the Iron Legion," Dr. Kaiser concluded.

For body armor, the Iron Legion takes the edge.

As it is with all warriors, there is a critical X-factor that makes them who they are. For the Telmarines, it was their ferocity.

"The Telmarines were humans taking on beings that were magical to them. They knew they had to be tough and were willing to do whatever it took, brutally putting down any resistance from the Old Narnians. They went as far as to destroy their capital to gain control of the kingdom to establish their own empire," Peter spoke.

For the Iron Legion, it was their victories over a diverse assortment of enemies.

"The Legion has taken on enemies from afar, each with their own approach to battle. We've taken on those savage Vikings, the highly disciplined Samurai, even the Wu Lin and all their ancient customs. We have fought against them and have taken them all down," Holden spoke.

Coming up, it's a clash of medieval proportions as the Telmarines battle the Iron Legion!

With our testing complete and our X-factors evaluated, we are now one step closer to deciding who will be "The Fictional Deadliest Warrior."

Our teams tested 4 weapons used by the Telmarines: the Telmar Saber, the Halberd, the Ballista, and the Espada Ropera.

On the opposite side, 4 weapons used by the Iron Legion were tested: the Longsword, the Poleaxe, the Torsion Catapult, and the Footman's Flail.

In short range weapons, both blades were locked in a stalemate.

EDGE: Even

In mid-ranged weapons, both polearms brought their variety of options that enabled them to match each other blow for blow.

EDGE: Even

In long range weapons, the Torsion Catapult set the Ballista aflame.

EDGE: Iron Legion

And lastly, the Footman's Flail found its way around and bludgeoned the Espada Ropera's offense.

EDGE: Iron Legion

Our scientists and weapons experts have concluded their testing. The results are in and the time has come to decide who will be the victor. The battle will be fought in a 5-on-5 squad battle between 5 Telmarines and 5 Iron Legion knights. To ensure the battle won't be decided by a single, lucky blow, the battle will be simulated one thousand times in a duel to the death.

Who will prevail in a battle between two heavily-armored warriors?

Steel

(A Telmarine is shown cutting down a minotaur with a hack from his halberd before finishing him off with a stab from its spike.)

vs. Steel

(A Legion Warden is shown brutally cutting down a Highlander with a strike from his longsword.)

Close Quarters

(A Legion Conqueror bashes a Wu Lin Shaolin's face in with a blow from his flail.)

vs. Siege Warfare

(Telmarines are shown firing off their ballistas simultaneously, one of their bolts flying into the eye of a giant and dropping him mid stride.)

Seafaring Conquerors

(Legions of Telmarines depart their boats to charge into a coastal Narnian village, sending the locals fleeing in terror.)

vs. Fierce Defenders

(Legion knights are shown assembled in their fortress as an army of Samurai approaches, raising their weapons and shouting in unison.)

"It's heavy metal warfare and it's time to see who crushes," Eddie smirked as he started the simulation.

We are taken to a war-ravaged landscape filled with blackened soil, the charred remnants of trees, and the ruins of long abandoned structures.

Among the ruins stands a stone outpost belonging to the renowned Iron Legion, the green, gold and black banner fluttering in the weak breeze.

Within the fortress walls are 5 knights of the Legion, a Warden walking along the ramparts on the lookout for any threats, while another Warden and two Lawbringers sit around sharpening their respective longswords and poleaxes. Nearby, a Conqueror practices swings of his footman's flail on straw targets.

They are the skeleton crew left behind to stand guard while the others have been sent out to intercept a rumored Viking invasion.

Iron Legion: 5

Nearby, 5 men clad in brigandine armor, Morion helmets with face plates, and carrying tower shields march along the scarred landscape, armed with sabers, rapiers and halberds, while lugging a ballista along behind them.

They are Telmarines from the distant land of Narnia, who have been attracted to Ashfeld by tales of a land in disarray, which they hope they can conquer to expand their empire.

Telmarines: 5

The quintet marches along until the scout leading the way raises a hand. Motioning for his leader, he waves him forth and points to the fortress in the distance. They can make out an unknown banner flying overhead and approach with caution, 2 of the Telmarines stopping to set up the ballista.

The patrolling Warden continues making his way along the ramparts, but suddenly stops when he hears what he believes to be a cranking noise and tries to peer through the thick smoke, staying in place until he notices a group of men in the distance wearing strange armor, followed by one of them shouting something in a foreign language.

The Warden tries calling out, yet is struck in the chest by a 4 foot long bolt and sent tumbling backwards, hitting the ground with a sickening thud that breaks his back and leaves him choking to death on his own blood.

Telmarines: 5 – Iron Legion: 4

The other knights stop what they are doing and the remaining Warden orders his men to take their places at the catapult, just as another bolt strikes the ground not far from where he stands. He peers through an arrowslit and sees the armored soldiers in the distance, readying another bolt. Shouting to his men, they load a boulder and launch it over the wall.

The boulder strikes the ground not far from the Telmarines, yet their leader orders them to continue and they fire a third bolt over the wall that hits nothing.

Meanwhile, the Legion Warden looks over and sees a barrel full of tar. He calls out to his men as they are loading another boulder and orders them to cover it in pitch. With the boulder covered, he grabs a torch and lights it before using it to ignite the boulder.

"Mitte super illud!" the Warden cries and the flaming boulder is sent flying over the wall.

The Telmarines are just about to launch another bolt when the leader looks up to see a flaming projectile flying over the wall towards them.

He shouts at them to scatter, yet the boulder strikes the ballista head on and demolishes it, in the process swallowing up one of the Telmarines in a fiery blaze.

Telmarines: 4 – Iron Legion: 4

The Telmarine leader shouts to his men and they charge the fortress with their melee weapons drawn.

The Legion soldiers see the enemy approaching and abandon their places at the catapult to gather their weapons and shields, taking a formation as the Telmarines come charging through the opened gate.

The Telmarines charged head on and met the formation with sabers and halberds, managing to push the Legion knights back, yet harming none of them as their kite shields withstood the barrage.

The Legion knights swung back, their blades striking the Telmarines tower shields, yet the Conqueror's flail managed to get around one of the tower shields and strike its user in the side of his helmeted head, stunning him and breaking up the formation. The wobbling Telmarine was then struck by a poleaxe spike being driven through his throat, killing him before he could hit the ground.

Telmarines: 3 – Iron Legion: 4

The Telmarines still fought valiantly as they were left outnumbered, one of the halberdiers using his weapon's fluke to go low and take a Legion Lawbringer off his feet before following up by driving his halberd's spike through the man's throat.

Telmarines: 3 – Iron Legion: 3

It was now down to a Warden, a Lawbringer, and the Conqueror and they put some distance between themselves to draw their enemies apart, each focused on their own opponent.

Both the Lawbringer and a Telmarine halberdier clashed their weapons' shafts against one another, finding themselves locked in a test of strength as they pushed against one another with no signs of ceding any ground.

It wasn't long before the Lawbringer's size and strength advantage came into play and he was able to push his smaller opponent back and follow up with a swing of his poleaxe the smaller man barely avoided, dropping his halberd in the process.

The Telmarine barely dodged another swipe from his opponent's poleaxe and quickly reached for the espada ropera strapped to his side. He waited for his opponent to raise the poleaxe above his head again and shot his blade upward into the man's exposed armpit, going deep enough to puncture his lung.

The Telmarine pulled his blade out and allowed his opponent to fall to the ground, leaving the man to bleed to death as he ran over to assist his colleagues.

Telmarine: 3 – Iron Legion: 2

The Legion Conqueror was locked in a struggle with a saber swinging Telmarine, bringing his shield up to block repeated swings, while trying to swing his flail with his own blows being blocked by the Telmarine's tower shield.

The two warriors continued back and forth until the Conqueror backed off and circled his opponent. He waited for his opponent to strike, the foreign warrior trying to punch at him with his shield, yet he leaped to the side and managed to bring the spiked ball down onto the man's wrist, causing him to drop his saber.

As the man howled in pain, he bypassed him and brought the flail's spiked ball onto his shoulder, hitting him hard enough to break it before going for another swing upside the head that knocked his opponent silly. The Telmarine fell to the ground and the Conqueror swung again, bringing the spiked ball down onto the man's neck and breaking it.

Telmarine: 2 – Iron Legion: 2

The Legion Conqueror looked over to see a rapier-wielding Telmarine charging the Warden, who was locked in a back and forth sword fight with another of the armored men and he ran over to help him, attempting to tackle the man down with his shield, yet the man still had his tower shield and they clashed in a brutal collision that knocked both men backwards.

Yet, the Conqueror managed to keep his footing and swung at the Telmarine, who intercepted the blow with his tower shield and tried to stab the knight with his espada ropera, only for the Conqueror to barely sidestep him and strike him in his exposed back.

The brigandine cushioned the impact, yet the Telmarine still grunted in pain and struggled to remain upright as the Conqueror went for another swing that he barely managed to swat away with a swing of his tower shield.

The Telmarine ducked low and shot his blade out, its tapered end piercing the Conqueror's armor and leaving him grunting in pain. He went for a slash that cut into the man's arm and left him struggling to keep his grip on the flail, yet the Conqueror would not give up and went for a mighty swing that struck the Telmarine right in the face, the plate crunching beneath the blow and leaving him with a depressed skull fracture underneath.

Unfortunately for the Conqueror, the blade's end pierced his liver and he collapsed to his knees from blood loss, slowly passing away.

Telmarine: 1 – Iron Legion: 1

It was now down to the Warden and the Telmarine leader, both men locked in a sword fight that had been going back and forth for several tense moments.

The Telmarine was smaller and faster, managing to deliver a few blows with his saber, yet the Warden's plate armor held firm and he responded with a few slashes of his longsword the invader managed to block or parry before finally landing a blow that was absorbed by his brigandine.

The Telmarine was winded, but threw down his shield and drew his side sword, attacking the Warden in a flurry of steel he brought his kite shield up to absorb. The force knocked him backward, yet he managed to keep his footing and deliver a strike that knocked the saber from the Telmarine's hand.

The Telmarine didn't let that stop him and he let out a loud yell before leaping at the Warden with his blade extended, only managing to scratch the plate armor's surface as the knight tried to sidestep him and responded with a swing of his longsword that struck the Telmarine in his helmet and managed to stun him.

Stepping forward, the Warden shot his longsword out and managed to find a weak spot in the brigandine, catching the Telmarine by surprise and sending him staggering backward clutching his side. He wasted no time and followed up with a low swing that cut into the man's leg, severing the tendons and sending him falling to the ground.

"Miserabilis!" the Warden grunted before driving his blade down through the final Telmarine's chest.

Telmarine: 0 – Iron Legion: 1

With his opponent defeated, the Legion Warden raises his longsword into the air and cries out "AD HONOREM! AD VICTORIAM!"

"It was another very close matchup separated only by 40 kills in the end, but the Iron Legion prevailed after a long, hard fought battle thanks in part to them having the better siege weapon, a more unpredictable special weapon with their flail, and better protection with their body armor. The Telmarines however, did have the more reliable mid-ranged weapon and armor that still kept the battle close enough," Bradley concluded.

"I don't know what to make of the technology that predicted the outcome of this match, but after having experienced their ferocity in battle first-hand, I honestly thought things would end differently," Peter spoke.

"The Iron Legion was the greatest of the legions of Ashfeld and this only serves to prove their dominance," Holden concluded.

(The Legion Warden stands tall over the freshly dug graves of his fallen comrades and then looks off into the distance where ships bearing the Telmarine coat of arms await. Today's battle has been won, but the war is far from over.)

Next time on "Fictional Deadliest Warrior" it's a battle between two non-surface dwelling fantasy warriors:

(An ebony-skinned elf with snow white hair and wearing a black cloak points a hand crossbow at the screen.)

Drow Elf: The cunning and merciless warrior of the Underdark who faithfully and violently serves Lolth...

vs.

(A pale violet-skinned aquatic humanoid clad in silverscale armor and a fish-like helmet thrusts his spear at the camera.)

Zora: The aquatic folk of Hyrule who faithfully aided the Hero of the Wild in his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon.

Author's Note: And so concludes another installment that thankfully didn't take me as long as the last one! This was another chapter where I had to do more digging around and found myself plagued by a few last minute changes here and there, but I was able to get it finalized.

For the Iron Legion I had to take some liberties as I am aware that the "Catapult" is just a Tier IV feat and that an actual catapult is never seen actually being used, but is rather just a shot fired from an unseen spot that is indicated by a red circle, followed by the flaming rock coming from out of nowhere. Granted, there are catapults actually shown positioned around the map, yet are never actually shown in use, so I make use of what would probably have been the most realistic type of catapult used, in this case being the Torsion Catapult similar to that which was used by William the Conqueror on the show.

Having the boulders covered in pitch and lit ablaze is my way of trying to make sense of how that could even be a possibility, unless the designers had the rocks lit aflame for dramatic, fantastical and aesthetic purposes.

I was originally going to make the Tower Shield used by the Telmarines their special weapon, but I literally had a last-minute change of heart on the subject and decided to give them a special weapon I figured would score them more kills in the end, which turned out to be the rapiers they used that are apparently supposed to be similar to the real-life Espada Ropera (dress sword) used by the Spanish Conquistador, of whom the Telmarines were physically modeled after in the movie version of "Prince Caspian."

As for the Latin translations I used with the Iron Legion:

"Exite tantorum!" - "Send a grand one!"

"Mitte super illud" - "Send it over"

"Miserabilis" - "Pitiful"

"Ad honorem, Ad victoriam" - "For honor, for victory"

The Telmarines and all other references to Prince Caspian and "The Chronicles of Narnia" are based upon the works of C.S. Lewis. The Iron Legion and all references to "For Honor" are the property of Ubisoft.

With apologies to Chronicles of Narnia fans!

Since I'll probably take a while to get the next chapter out, here's wishing all of you a Happy Halloween! As always, this is Metal Harbinger saying KEEP IT FUCKING METAL!
