Authors Note: I don't own anything
The next day…
Kelso walked into the basement. "Hyde man I've been looking for you" "Yea what for?" replied Hyde. "Sam came to the club last night and got into some trouble and she used W. B's name, the club owner knew W.B., so she called him and he wasn't happy. He told her he didn't know who she was and they could call the cops on her." "What?! what club? what are you talking about?" asked Hyde. "Oh, I guess you don't know, we haven't seen much of you guys lately." "What are you talking about Kelso?" asked Donna. "Jackie got a job as a personal assistant for the co-owner of Glamour. That club out in Kenosha." Sam's been talking about that club a lot recently, thought Hyde. "Liz, Jackie's new boss, owns the club with her brother, Leif. It isn't their only business; they have a ton of businesses. She pays Jackie a salary to basically shop for her. So, a few months ago Jackie introduces me, Fez and Brooke to them, since Jackie can go into the club whenever she wants, we went with her." Kelso shrugged. "Brooke starts talking to Leif, who's totally into Jackie by the way, and they end up liking a lot of the same books. So, Leif is impressed with how much Brooke knows and offers her a job as his personal assistant. She makes the same salary as Jackie, which is a butt load of money. He basically has Brooke finding really old expensive books for him because he collects them. Then Fez gets to talking with Liz and she ends up hiring him as her personal hair dresser and gives him a salary too, but she also introduced him to some of her old rich lady friends and now he has them as clients also. Since I'm always with them, Leif gave me a job working security at a few different clubs he owns. They own some apartment buildings, that they use for employees, so they gave me and Brooke a super sweet condo in one of their buildings. They gave another one to Jackie and one to Fez. So, we all live in Kenosha now. I'm surprised you guys didn't notice we were out of Point Place. The Foreman's visit us about once a week, we all have dinner." said Kelso. He was quiet for a minute while he processed his thoughts, then he asked "The Foreman's didn't tell you they're having dinner with us every week?" "No," replied Hyde, "every week Kitty bakes some kind of dessert and says that they're off to have dinner at a friend's house but she never mentioned the friend." Hyde wondered why they wouldn't mention that it was their friends they were having dinner with. "They consider us their friends!?" yelled Kelso. "I wonder if they'll sit us at the adult table during Thanksgiving now? I can't wait to tell Jackie and Fez were friends with Red and Kitty!" Hyde rolled his eyes while Donna smiled sadly at her friend. The realization that they weren't able to be friends with the Foreman's because they hadn't grown up yet hit her hard. Kelso, Jackie and Fez grew up, got jobs that paid well and moved out of Point Place into their own apartments. Kelso even had a family! What were her and Hyde doing? Sure, Hyde was married but he didn't even remember his own wedding, how serious could their relationship be? The Foreman's still saw her and Hyde as children because they still were. She had assumed it was because they grew up with their son but so did the rest of the gang and they were now seen as peers.
Hyde and Donna were speechless. Had they really abandoned their friends so much? "Wait, so what happened with Sam?" asked Hyde. "Oh yea, she came down to the club but wasn't let in because she didn't meet the dress code. Apparently, she's been going every Friday for the last few weeks. She's never been let in. She started arguing with Liz who was watching the door last night. I don't think Sam realized she was arguing with the owner, anyway, somehow Sam found out Jackie works for Liz so she kept saying she was friends with Jackie, but Jackie had already told Liz what had happened with you all, since they're basically best friends now. Liz knew not to believe Sam. She asked her to leave but Sam wouldn't, she kept getting louder and causing a scene. Finally, Liz said if she didn't leave, she was going to call the police and that's when Sam yelled at her to go ahead because her father-in-law was William Barnett. Liz laughed and mentioned that they were business associates, Sam looked like she had just shit herself, it was great. Then Liz went to call W.B. to see if he wanted to help Sam. This was close to midnight by the way. W.B got really upset and said he didn't know Sam. So, he told Liz to go ahead and call the cops. So, she did. Then Sam ended up getting arrested. You didn't know? Is she out yet?" asked Kelso. "She's asleep." replied Hyde. "She came home at 4 in the morning. I thought she had been working, she didn't say anything just went right to bed." He was seething. How dare she try to take advantage of Jackie and then his father. He was not looking forward to hearing from W.B.
"I can't believe W.B let her go to jail." said Donna, appalled. Hyde scoffed. "She shouldn't have used his name, or Jackie's for that matter. She isn't Jackie's friend, why would she think that would work?" asked Hyde. "Was Jackie there?" asked Donna, ready to be angry at her for not defending Sam. "No, she doesn't go to the club on weekdays. Only every other Saturday." replied Kelso. "I don't think she even knows what happened. She usually doesn't hear from Liz until the evening. Liz gives her a list of things she wants done for the next day and Jackie stays busy with that during the day. I only know because I was working security yesterday. I told Brooke so she might've told Jackie." Kelso shrugged.
Hyde thought it'd be a good idea to change the topic. "So, what's the salary for a personal assistant to rich people?" he asked. "Brooke, Jackie and Fez get $3000 a month, plus tips and bonuses. We also don't have to pay rent at the condos. That's one of the bonuses. I get $10 an hour working security. I wanted to buy so many dogs but Brooke said they aren't allowed in the condo." Kelso pouted. Hyde and Donna were shocked at how much money their friends were making. "How can they afford to pay their employees so much? How rich are they?" asked Donna. "Jackie said they're millionaires. Not just a couple million either. Leif said he pays his employees well because he wants their loyalty. If you treat employees badly, they won't want to work for you." answered Kelso. "You said Brooke's boss was into Jackie?" scoffed Hyde annoyed that he felt the slightest hint of jealousy. "I would've thought that Jackie would be all over him since he's so rich." "Nah, Jackie isn't into him. I keep telling her to sleep with him because he's man pretty. I mean I'm man pretty but he's way better looking, but Jackie won't give in," said Kelso. "Jackie doesn't understand that when someone is that good looking and they want to sleep with you, you do it. How many times will you get that chance?" Donna and Hyde looked at Kelso with disbelief. Did he actually believe that thought Hyde?
"So," Donna began, wanting to find out more information, "When do we get to see your new apartments?" "I'll have to ask Brooke, since we have Betsey, we're trying to get her on a sleep schedule. Fez would probably have you over whenever he's there. I doubt Jackie would want you at her place." replied Kelso. "Why wouldn't Jackie want us there?" asked Donna a bit angry. Even Hyde scoffed at that. "Why would she want us there?" asked Hyde. "After what I did and you taking my side and becoming friends with Sam and ditching Jackie, were lucky all she's doing is not inviting us to her place." Donna sat back and thought about what Hyde had said. She hadn't ditched Jackie, had she? Oh God, she thought horrified. She did. She just realized they hadn't spoken in months. How did this happen? Jackie was her best friend but she obviously wasn't Jackie's. She needed to find Jackie and apologize. They needed to get an invite to her apartment. "Well, I figured I'd let you know about Sam, just in case she was still in jail." Laughed Kelso. "I'll leave you my new number. I'll also give you Fez's." "What about Jackie's?" asked Donna. "No way Big Red. Jackie would kill me." With that Kelso left the basement and headed back to Kenosha.
"How did so much happen without us knowing?" Donna asked Hyde. "Everyone decided to grow up and we refused to. We still hang out in the Foreman's basement drinking and having circles. The only thing that's changed is having Sam here and she isn't doing us any favors in becoming better people." Hyde said. "I'm going to go wake her up and ask what she was thinking trying to involve W.B. in some scheme to get into a club. I'll be lucky if W.B. isn't pissed enough to take back the store." Oh shit, thought Donna, she hadn't even considered that as a possibility. Sam might've just ruined Hyde's relationship with his new dad as well as his career.
Hyde walked into his room and looked at Sam, in disgust, on his bed. He lifted the blanket off of her and yelled for her to get up. Sam looked up at him groggily and asked what his problem was. "When were you going to tell me you got arrested?" Sam huffed. "It was your ex-girlfriend's fault. All she had to do was say she knew me and I could've been let into the club." "From what Kelso said, she wasn't even there last night and then you had them call my dad close to midnight! What were you thinking?! Do you think he's going to trust me with the store now?" Hyde yelled. Sam rolled her eyes. "What's he going to do? Disown you? He's rich just go to the press and talk about how he never owned up to his responsibilities of being a father, then he'll pay you off to stop talking." "I can't believe all you think about is money!" said Hyde, he had thought Jackie was money hungry and shallow but he was finally seeing what that actually looked like. Sam looked at him as if he were crazy, "Did you really think I'd be here with you if William Barnett wasn't your father? Do you even realize how famous he is? Or how rich? I figured I could wait it out in this dingy basement until he gave you some money but that doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon and since you might lose your store there really isn't any reason for me to stay. I'm going to go back to Vegas. Oh, by the way, we aren't really married, I already have a husband back in Las Vegas. I guess I'll have to call him and tell him this was a bust." Sam got up off the bed and started packing her stuff. Hyde was dismayed. He couldn't believe he gave up Jackie for this, so what if she slept with Kelso, they were broken up and she had forgiven him for cheating on her. But…had she slept with Kelso? Kelso had said he and Brooke were together and he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his relationship with Betsey. He had to call Kelso and find out the truth. Did he jump to the wrong conclusion again? Hyde didn't even acknowledge Sam as she left. He was too angry with her; he might do something that would end up with him getting arrested. He went back out to the basement to see Donna still sitting there with pity in her eyes. She had heard everything. No time to dwell on that, he had a phone call to make.
