Happy birthday to me everyone!
Man, yesterday, let me tell ya, when I saw the first episode of season three, I cannot have been the only one who felt for Luz after everything that happened. I wouldn't blame her for wanting to stay in the Human Realm.
But think of it this way: sure, she messed up big time, but she delivered big time and fixed her mistake. If she didn't bump into Phillip in the first place, or stumbled into the Demon Realm for that matter, I bet he'd find the light spell himself somehow and meet the Collector a different way, and there'd be no way anyone would've known about the Day of Unity.
Everyone on the Isles would've dead if it weren't for Luz.
And besides, Luz made one mistake, big deal. It's true, we all do. It's why we're exceptional human[and witchly] beings.
Now with that being said, enjoy!
And feel free to wish me a happy birthday!
Four days later...
Hello, everyone. Today's a semi-good day on the Isles because the carnival's in town.
Right now, we see Ace Adri, who did not have Red on his back, at the front of a line for a 'test your strength' game. Y'know, with the mallet and the bell, those kinda games?
Ace looked at the mallet in his hands, then at the carny. He smirked because he knew the game was rigged. The weight that was meant to go to the bell was next level heavy, and the mallet was insanely hollow.
Man, Ace loved it when people tried to trick him. They could really trick him, but sometimes he likes to let them try.
He made an illusion of himself holding the mallet, while his invisible self put a small hole in the mallet and filled it up discreetly with the gravel from the ground.
After it was completely filled Ace put himself back in place and in sight as the illusion dispelled. He cracked his neck, jumped up, and with a somersault, slammed the mallet into the ground making the weight go up high and fast enough to knock the bell off the game and onto the carny, knocking him out.
Ace threw the mallet away, grabbed an octopus plush, and walked over the carny on his way away.
Not too far from where Ace was standing, we see Willow and Gus run to a dropped rotten candy[the Isle's version of cotton candy].
You might be thinking this isn't a big deal, but it is because these two are in a, little fix. Literally. Due to a weird potion, these two shrunk to the size of a crumb. They ran to the rotten candy for cover because they were just attacked by a creature that was shrunken down by the same kind of potion.
"Quick! We have to find Luz and get her attention before any more carnival animals hunt us down." Willow said.
The two suddenly heard thumping and when it stopped they hesitantly turned to see an animal that was...familiar.
It was a canine, but this one in particular was white and-
"Red?" Gus said, making the wolf in question bark.
The wolf lowered its head and Gus petted him without a problem. in this situation, it was nice to see a friendly face.
Willow then realized something.
"If Red's here, then that means-"
"*whistle* Red, c'mere boy! Where are you?"
Willow and Gus looked and saw Ace looking around a far distance from here, the plush still in his hand.
"Ace! He can help us!" "Red, can you give us a ride?"
Red ruffed to say 'yes' and the two climbed onto his head, as Red made his way to Ace.
"Where is that wolf? *sees Red coming* Oh, there you are."
Red then jumped onto Ace and sat on his shoulder.
As Ace started walking, he heard, "Ace! Over here! Ace!"
Confused, Ace stopped then looked around to see who was calling his name.
When he looked at Red, he noticed Willow and Gus on his head.
He suddenly moved his shoulder upward, making Willow and Gus go soaring, and they landed on Ace's glasses, after almost falling off.
As Red turned back into Ace's jacket, Ace said smiling, "Hey, Gus, Willow. Looks like you have a tiny problem on your hands. What happened?"
After sitting upright, the two explained what happened.
They were with Luz and King, who came here with Eda, and after Luz went to get something to eat, King dropped a bottle of something and it sprayed all over Willow and Gus, making them shrink. And instead of King telling Luz what happened when she came back, the just left to get tickets to win some friendship bracelets.
"So can you take us to Luz?"
"Well, I was gonna go deliver this plush to someone, but sure, I can make a detour. *starts walking* Hold on, and try not to look down."
"Whoa!"
"And, that's the reason the 'not''s there, Gus."
After two minutes of walking, they saw Luz at a prize counter with King.
Ace blinked his eyes making them and his spade glow.
Over to Luz, she felt something in her pocket vibrate. it was the charm Ace gave her. She pulled it out and saw it flash twice. She pressed on hit and said to it, "Hello?"
"Hey, Superstar."
"Hi, Ace. How's it going?"
"Pretty good. Things are going easy, Boscha's out running errands for me, I got a gift for someone, life's going good. Hey, turn around. Got something to show you."
She did as Ace said and saw him waving at her.
"I'll be right back, King." she said as she put the charm in her pocket then walked to Ace.
As Ace ended the call, Luz said, "Hi A-"
She noticed Willow and Gus on Ace's glasses.
"Oh my gosh!"
Ace lowered his glasses and lowered the two friends into Luz's open palms.
"What happened to you guys?!"
As they both explained everything again, Ace started looking around because his attention span was wearing thin.
When he looked in a certain direction, he noticed something; his spade was faintly flashing.
Just like with his Uncle Thorn's stopwatch.
"...I'll meet you guys later." he said, walking off as King arrived to them a second later.
Ace used his spade to detect where to go, and ended up going behind a tent. It just, stopped there.
The spade was flashing bright, meaning he was in the right place, but he didn't see where the thing he was meant to be looking for could be.
"Hey, wait a minute...*looks down*"
He got on his knees and dug in the ground. He found something but when he was about to grab it, but suddenly, it and him suddenly went up into the air quick. Ace got a good look at it and saw that it was a palm-sized, black and white, globe.
Smirking, Ace reached out for it.
When he touched it, his spade glowed and he was in another trance. In his head he heard,
"Hey, Ace, remember, don't give up when someone says there's no hope.
Keep pushing on, and don't stop until it's done.
Love, Patrician, your grandmother."
A few seconds later, Ace blinked his eyes and snapped back into reality as his spade stopped glowing.
Ace then felt himself falling fast. Miraculously, he landed on his feet, and made a crack in the ground. Okay, I get his legs are strong, but sheesh, not one broken bone!
"...My Momo's old globe! I loved messing with this thing!" he said, remembering who the globe in his hand was for. Yes, he calls his grandma 'Momo', some of us do. Take DoubleA135 for example.
Hey, guilty as charged. Say what you want, sue me.
Ace put the globe in his pocket, and before he could do anything else, he heard. "There he is!"
"*looks then smirks* Hey, coven scouts! I was waiting for things to get interesting! C'mon, let's make a carnival kerfuffle!"
He ran as the scouts started going after him. One just stopped and was slowly backing up when another one stopped them.
"Where are you going?" "I can't do this! Every time we try to get this kid, we end up with broken bones or burnt skin! And haven't you heard?! He's got some kind of time magic now! He's learning new magic! I. Am not. DOING THIS!" "Fine. Be that way. You're not getting a share of the prize money. *runs to rest of the scouts*"
"...What prize money?! We'll never catch him!"
We see Ace approach the molar coaster, and starting to parkour up the beams and supports. The scouts followed using plant magic to make it easy to climb straight up.
Standing on the coaster track, Ace looked down at the climbing scouts. He then thought about something,
Like Uncle Thorn's stopwatch, the magic in his Momo's globe must've gone into him. What kind of magic did the globe have?
Grinning he said, "Hey scouts, you don't mind if I turned things up a bit, right? Eh, I'm sure you won't mind."
He used his new magic and did turn something up.
The scouts started to fall, taking the plants with them. They started to become really heavy.
They were now on the ground, stuck under the heavy plants.
However, if you were wondering, the weight of the plants and scouts aren't what changed.
Their gravity did.
"This ought to make things fun." Ace said, grinning.
Four scouts managed to reach the top. They got on the track, two on each of Ace's sides.
Ace sped forward and with one punch, knocked a coven scout of his feet and off the track! He flew far because as the punch came, he decreased the scout's gravity, making him lighter and stay in the air longer.
Ace moved to dodge a fire spell and backflipped onto a scouts shoulders. He flung him onto the ground by leaning back, doing a full three-sixty. The scout's increased gravity made him land hard into the track, and Ace landed on his feet as the scout landed.
The last two looked at each other before rushing in to get Ace, but Ace just rolled his eyes before stopping the two in time, and decreasing their gravity entirely. He just tapped the two of them on their foreheads, sending them floating backwards.
"Send me a postcard!" Ace said, waving to them as they were starting to go out of sight.
He jumped of the track and landed on the ground, he said as he walked, "The more you guys try to catch me, the stronger I get. Just learn your lesson and take the L. Thanks to my fam's stuff, I'm earning magic you guys wish you could master."
One scout in particular, the one who wanted to stay out of this, was listening and taking note of everything.
He didn't want to get involved with detaining Ace, almost half of the Emperor's Coven didn't want to, but he thought this was worth knowing.
He watched as Red got off Ace's back and became the staff that Ace rode off on.
We'll come back to that though.
The next day, at Hexside, near the end of the school day...
At the school entrance, we see Ace, Luz, Willow, and Gus on the stairs.
Ace was telling them about what happened at the carnival, after they told them what happened.
"You can change gravity now?" Willow asked.
"Mhm. You can thank my grandmother for that.
Ace made a portal appear, dropping his family album in his hand.
He opened the book and stopped the flipping pages on a page that showed a woman in her early sixties, with her hair tied behind her back. She had five moles on her face, two on one cheek, three on the other, and on her right cheek was the marking of a crown.
"My Momo, Patrician, or Patricia or Pat if you want, had a globe that could shift gravity on an object or more than one. It can change the gravity's direction, or how much gravity was on an object. I used to play with it all the time. Sometimes she'd let me, sometimes she'd scold me for using it when she said no. I was a hardheaded kid."
The word 'patrician' means high-class, so it kinda makes sense how a crown as her mark got her her name.
"Let me tell ya, she was sweet, but do the wrong thing in my family, she'd get you for it." he said, taking out the globe from his pocket and spinning it on his finger.
He then thought about something, then said as he stood up, "Oh yeah, I said the words she told me in my head when I touched the globe, on the exact day I met Phoenix. I thought I got that from somewhere."
"Who's Phoenix?" Luz asked as the three of them got up and followed him as they walked away from the school.
"Crazy story. Luckily, I can show you."
Ace opened a portal and a lot of blank sheets of paper flew out like a swarm of insects and swirled around Ace's head. Ace's spade glowed making all the sheets stop in front of it, and all the paper turned into a book.
On the cover was,
How Ace met Phoenix
along with a picture of a silhouette of Ace, reaching out to grab a girl's hand from the ocean.
"It's a family thing." Ace said to his friends surprised faces.
The four of them went to sit down at a bench as Ace opened the book.
Everyone in the Adri family can make a book using their memories. The book shows what happened to the Adri during a certain event, what they were thinking, and what they were doing.
Basically a story of their life.
Ace started to read, "'It began on an average day near the seaside,'"
Ace was with Red in his wolf form near the shore.
He was throwing a disc around for Red to catch.
"Okay, Red, go longer for this one!" Ace said before throwing it as far as he could.
Red ran after it.
It took a minute, a long minute, but Red didn't come back yet.
"Red? *whistles* Red, you coming back?"
Ace then ran in the direction Red ran in. He saw Red's tracks in the sand and followed them to a cliff above the boiling sea.
The only thing on there was the disc.
Well, part of it. The rest was bit off.
Ace picked it up, examined it and said while looking away from the cliff, "A little big to be Red's bite."
What Ace said was an understatement. It was far from a 'little big' from a wolf bite. Nearly half the disc was gone.
Ace then noticed a huge shadow being cast over him.
He turned around and was met with a loud screech from what the shadow was made from.
It was made of stone but it was alive. It was a huge statue of a girl around Ace's age, and she did not look happy. Her mouth was open wide and her teeth were really sharp, there were dark holes where the eyes should be, and her stiff hair was wild and pointing in all directions.
Putting his smile on, he said, "Hello, miss sea statue, how's your day?"
He ducked to avoid a beam coming from the statue's eyes. It hit the sand at the back of the cliff, and the sand turned to stone!
"Oh, got it; Miss sea gorgon statue. My apologies."
He backflipped out of the way to avoid the statue's arm that tried to swipe at him.
When he landed he heard a noise. It was coming from the sea gorgon statue's head.
It sounded like...howling.
"So that's why you're angry. Can't imagine palismen tasting good. That and whatever else is in there."
Red was alive and inside the statue. He was calling for help. Not for himself, but because something wasn't right.
Ace dodged again to avoid another beam, then as both arms tried to swipe at him. He corkscrewed to dodge the left one, and when the right one came, he sliced it off with his axe. That made the statue screech in pain.
"For someone with a possible heart of stone, it looks like you can feel some things."
He readied his Abom-carnAcetion arms, reached out, grabbed a strand of her hair with each arm, pulled back, and flung forward towards the statue's face.
And on purpose, he dove into the statue's open mouth!
When he landed, he was in a pitch black area.
His spade glowed, giving a bit of light, and he made a light spell in the shape of a star appear.
He heard something coming and saw that it was his canine partner.
"Red! Nice, you're in one piece!"
Red yipped then gestured Ace to follow him, and he did.
"What's up, boy? What's the rush?"
"Hello? W-Who's there?"
Red pointed ahead to who was speaking.
Red jumped onto Ace's shoulder, and the Adri son walked to the source of the new voice.
The person in need, being in the dark for so long, shielded their eyes from the sudden light.
They removed their hands, and it's shown that it was a girl around Ace's age.
She had long dark red hair, warm skin, turquoise eyes, and a dark green top. She's waist deep stuck into the stone ground.
Ace then said, "Huh, you look just like that stone statue outside trying to eat me."
"No, please! I've got nothing to do with- W-Wait, you came from outside,...right?"
"*nods*Yeah, why?"
She then started saying while crying, "P-Please tell me that you're here to save me...I can't take this place anymore..."
Ace then knelt down to her and said, "Hey, relax. Something tells me you didn't mean to get involved with this."
He wiped away her tears, causing her to look at him.
"Don't worry, I'll get us out of here. *winks* Alright?"
She blushed seeing Ace's face like this.
"A...Alright."
Ace got up as Red turned back into his jacket. He started to look around
"Okay, let's see what I can do here. Excuse me- Hey, I never got your name."
"Oh, it's Phoenix. Just Phoenix."
"Really? Oh, well I'm Ace. So, Ms. Phoenix of the sea, do you know anything about this place or how you got into this situation?"
"Well, I was swimming in the boiling sea, when I saw a glowing gemstone in the water. I touched it, and suddenly my tail was petrified. The next thing I know, this place formed around me."
"Gemstone, huh?"
As if on cue, and both him and Phoenix looked to see a light coming from somewhere. It was a green, now-glowing gemstone stuck in a wall.
"That's the gem." she said. "It glows whenever this place needs power."
"That's all I need to hear."
He dispelled the light and the his spade stopped glowing as her went to the gem and was about to grab it when Phoenix said without any hope, "*sigh* Don't bother. It's as stuck as I am in this place."
Ace then said, "C'mon, Phoenix, a little positive thinking wouldn't hurt, y'know."
"Oh, I-I'm sorry. It's just that I'm tired of hoping for nothing."
"Well, Phoenix, I've been told to not give up when there's no hope."
He grabbed the stone, and tried pulling it, It was really trapped in there.
"*straining voice*Just gotta keep on, and don't stop 'til I'm done...I promised I'd get us out of here...and I will, so have some hope for me..."
Watching Ace pull the gem, she hesitantly said, "I...I believe in..."
Then, to her surprise, Ace started pulling the gem out!
"*gasps* Oh my-!" She started smiling and she was blushing again. "I do believe in you! My hero!"
However, neither one of them noticed the glowing green cracks being made in the stone as the gem was being pulled out.
And on the outside, the statue was screeching again because the same cracks were forming all over her.
Ace was focused on pulling out the gem, and Phoenix was swooning over her savior.
"*straining noise*...Gotcha!"
Ace finally got the gem out, but that's when he finally noticed the cracks.
He felt the place start to rumble, and Phoenix then started to take notice of the situation.
Then, the place started to fall apart.
The entire statue broke apart into pieces, and Ace and Phoenix, who was revealed to have an emerald green mermaid tail, started falling fast.
Phoenix in particular was falling towards the jagged rocks at the bottom of the cliff.
She screamed as she fell towards them and closed her eyes for the impaling she was about to get, but she ever got it.
Because her hand was caught before she was about to head for the rocks.
She opened her eyes to see Ace caught her on Red in his staff form.
"I gotcha, Phoenix!*pulls her up*"
"Ace!" When he pulled her up, she immediately went into his arms, taking him by surprise. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
She then realized what she was doing, and she pulled away to look at him.
He chuckled and Phoenix blushed while smiling.
Ace rode the two of them to the sand, and Ace carried Phoenix to the sea bridal style.
He smiled looking at her, and she smiled back, still blushing.
Ace lowered Phoenix to the boiling water, and she went in. It wasn't harming her because she was a mermaid that could survive in all temperatures of water.
"Thank you again, Ace."
"Weren't nothing."
"No, really! I don't know how to thank you enough! If you haven't come along, I would've been trapped in that place forever."
"Trust me, it was nothing. I'm just happy you're happy."
She looked away and blushed again.
"I promise, I'll find a way to thank you for what you did. *waves* Goodbye, Ace."
"*waves back*See ya, Phoenix."
And with that, Phoenix swam off into the boiling water.
"'The end.' *closes book*"
"Aw, Ace, that was so sweet of you." Luz said.
"Oh, I'm sure anyone else would do the same thing."
"I don't think 'anyone else' would get themselves eaten to save someone in need."
"Well, I guess you have a point, Willow."
"So where's Phoenix now?" Gus asked.
Before Ace could speak, they were met with another voice.
"Hey, kids."
They looked and saw Eda approaching after a long day at the market. Behind them was a certain someone in a green sundress and a necklace with a seashell charm.
"Hey, Ace, I ran into your girlfriend at the market." she said gesturing to the girl behind her.
"Hey, Owl Lady, I told you we're not dating yet." Ace said, smiling at her and the girl.
The girl was shown to be Phoenix, but like this, she had legs!
She ran to Ace, and he caught her in his arms.
"Whoa, how's she here? I thought she was a mermaid-sea gorgon girl or something."
"Well, Superstar, Phoenix and I have been hanging out for a while. When I met Phoenix yesterday to give her the plush I won at the carnival, she had something she wanted to show me. She found a different gem this time, and it gave her the ability to be able to go on land and in the sea.
She went up to me and said that she knew how to thank me for what I did."
Phoenix continued, wrapping her arms around Ace, "I asked that I could stay at his place and look after it while he was away. I'd say I'd cook, I'd clean, I'd do anything if it meant I could stay with him. He did save me after all."
"I said she didn't have to do that, but she insisted and wouldn't let me get a word in.
Ever since she moved in with me, she started being really affectionate. She then told me that she had a crush on me since the day I saved her.
It was sudden to me, and I didn't know how to respond, I said I had to have some time to think about it."
"Then I said I was okay with that. I told him that I'd be with him even if we went straight off a cliff. Even if it took me the rest of my life, I'd keep showing my love for him until he said yes."
"...I like her style." Eda said.
Luz then noticed the necklace.
"Ace, is that the charm around her neck?"
"Yep. Oh, right! I didn't tell you guys!"
He nodded at Eda, who pulled something out of her pocket and put it on her left ear. It was a single earring that had a moon charm.
"Depending on who you are, the charms'll turn into jewelry."
"Really?"
The three pulled out their charms, and they flew out of their hands. Luz's star landed onto the back of her left hand and turned into a Panjas bracelet, Willow's clover flew into her hair and turned into a hairpin, and Gus' magnifying glass flew onto his right wrist and became a bracelet.
They were stunned in awe.
"Yeah, you should've seen Phoenix's reaction."
Okay, back to this.
At the Emperor's Castle, in the throne room...
Remember the scout that skipped out on attacking Ace?
They went to report what they found out about him to Belos.
Kneeling in front of the ruler on his throne, the scout finished, "I'm telling you, that kid must've been finding all kinds of stuff to get new magic. He got gravity shifting magic from touching a weird globe!"
Belos thought for a moment before saying, "Tell the others to keep an eye out. If the child comes out to find to find more of these artifacts, make sure he doesn't get his hands on them."
"Yes sir."
Okay, this may be a problem for the future.
And, that's all I had.
Again, feel free to wish me a happy birthday, and I hope you guys have a great day.
What else did I want to say?
...
...
...
Oh yeah, I'm working on a new story, so keep an eye out for that.
See you guys later!
