Part Two: The Final Conflict Between Two Factions

Chapter 04: The Flaw to Inverse the Expected

Act I

Under the Rain

Location: Night Public Park / Fukawa District (01:38 PM) (Seventeen Minutes Before the Explosion)

A silence encroached on both Keima and Fujiidera as both of their eyes were locked on to each other, amidst the rain that kept falling heavier than before. However, neither of the individuals was bothered by that, especially since their clothes were soaked by the rainfall.

What really mattered now was the stunning revelation that the library girl has revealed to him.

And the other…

A flow of fresh blood that's pouring continuously onto the ground from the fatal wound within the newly fresh crooked corpse.

With his hair covering his face from the cause of rain droplets, Keima didn't have a single clue as to what he wanted to say next.

That is, till he looked to his left and took a notice of Ryou's eyes that was already lifeless, his focus began to replenish. And he started to get really nauseous from it. "Did…" Accompanied by the bravery in his frail heart, he resumed what he desired to express earlier. "Did… you have to kill him…?"

Fujiidera, who's not expected such a question from Keima, answered without a single concern for Human morality: "He tried to kill you, didn't he? And besides, I've already planned to shut him up way before you started your grand speech about your motivation to become a pacifist."

Her reply caused Keima to laugh like a sociopath. "Ha… hahaha…" His broken guffaw was quite disturbing. 'Haha… hahaha… "Maybe it's because he never experienced seeing a person die instantly in front of his eyes." Hahahaha…!' Or maybe his decency was reaching its limit as he found himself between the grip of ease or grief. "You're kidding me. Then why with the wait if you could just end him right away?" His tone sounded so spiteful.

"Because I want him to show you first-hand how simple-minded The Clementine Movement members' mindsets were," Fujiidera said callously. "You cannot reason with them once they have a goal in mind, Keima." She pointed her index finger at him. "Especially to the one that has become the center of this war." Keima didn't have anything to say about that part. "You need to understand. Your life is worth more than you know. That's why I said you have the key to end this terrible war." She elucidated to him, hoping to make him comprehend.

Until Keima asked her for clamancy, with his tone mirroring his own personal feeling about all of this: "How's exactly?"

"By doing nothing and staying alive." Her answer confused the God of Conquest at first. "If you die, that would be it. This war shall never meet its end." Her tone changed dramatically from before. "However, if you're alive... there's a chance; a slight chance that this lengthy conflict could be resolved."

"With your faction as a survivor and winner, am I right?" Keima pointed out what she has said earlier. At the same time, the wind from the rainfall has became more intense than ever.

"Of course." Fujiidera responded straightforwardly. "We have passed a point of no return, Keima. There will be no peace." She put the Silencer back into her right pocket. "The Clementine Movement has become a tarnished faction that needs to be erased, and that frantic view goes the same for them." She reached out her left hand to Keima. "That's why whatever truth you have, it won't matter anymore. All that remains is hatred between two factions that once have the same objective together."

As Fujiidera offered her hands to raise Keima up from his original position, he took it without a delay. Although as he did that, a singular fact came in mind. That means my own battle has been lost before it even begins. In truth, that frustrated him since he couldn't do anything than keep on living. What kind of a joke is this...! Keima wanted to believe that he could make a change. He genuinely thought he could do something that would decrease the tension of a conflict caused by the death of his father. However, as cruel as the reality might be, it's nothing more than a fantasy; a faint hope that's easily crushed by the weight of objectivity. If that's the case... The reality was harsh but kind. I've made the wrong choice after all...

Because there's nothing he could do, even if there's a chance to reverse the whole war around to his favor.

At the moment when Keima had a thought that uncovered the uselessness of his mighty desire to erase the stains that were caused by his father's death. Fujiidera suddenly noticed something unusual, making her to stare at the dark skies; the source of these ceaseless precipitation.

"Keima, wait." She said belligerently.

Startled by her words, Keima asked with curious eyes: "What's the matter?"

Fujiidera delayed the answer as her eyes glanced back unto a location that has became her interest. "We're being watched."

"Watched...?" That term caused him to be a little bit shocked. "Is it The Clementine Movement?"

"It could be, but it's something else although they're only observing from afar." Fujiidera answered as she prepared her Silencer ready, in the case of the worse scenario to come. "Just stay calm and act like what we did earlier, understand?" She instructed calmly even though the rain disrupted her serenity. "The MJSA shall guarantee your safety. You have my words." But even with that, there's something wrong with him. "Keima?"

Since for some reason, Keima strangely went silent.

So that's what it is. His surrounding started to move slowly. The MJSA... the faction that my Dad once served, looks like they still regret his death even now, as far as they are determined to protect me at any cost. He began to suspect their motive. But is it all true? As there must be a grand reason for their action and decision to keep him alive from any harm. It seems I misunderstood the context this entire time. If my false commitment to fix the broken lines that are sourced from the death of my Dad is stained, then perhaps...

"Keima!" Noticing that he's been out of the loop this entire time, Fujiidera immediately confronted him. "Do you listening to me?"

"!" Her question forced him to go back to reality

"I need you to focus." She said as she perceived his blank expression for a second.

"I-I am...!" Keima responded in a bitter tone after his deep thoughts were interrupted. "Uh..."

"What is it?" Fujiidera queried him again.

There was a hesitation in his voice to reply, but Keima decided to say it anyway. "I haven't know your name yet. All I know is that you're friends with Shiori."

Hearing that, Fujiidera instantly realized her mistake. "Sigh... and here I am, too focused on my job right now that I forgot to introduce myself." She rubbed her nose temple. "The name's Fujiidera, but you can call me whatever you want."

"Whatever I want?" Keima asked slightly before he chose to speak like a true Gamer. "Well then, if that's the case, it seems from now on I'll be relying on you to support me against these savages that tried to ruin the route that I've chosen to walk into, Fujiidera."

Stunned by his words, Fujiidera smiled slightly. "Even in this dire situation, you still mention the essence of galge games." She loosen her serious mask for a bit. "You really are an Otamegane."

Choosing to not argue with that, Keima rubbed it off coolly. "Heh, I guess that makes me what I always am." But deep down, he felt that was the only last part of him that kept him together in this cruel reality. I'm nothing without it after all.

"You do not even hesitate to reject that." Fujiidera smiled even more. "Never changes, Keima. No matter what happens next."

Keima nodded his head slightly. "I don't intend to." He replied candidly before looking back at Ryou. "Anyway... what about him...?" His eyes are still full of terror, like a child traumatized after a recent incident that scarred him for life.

Especially as they were talking, the blood from the corpse was flowing even more intensely than ever before.

Leaving such a pool of blood within its park soil.

"There's nothing we can do." Fujiidera said straightforwardly. "Let his corpse rot."

"And let the entire neighborhood be alerted by... this kind of thing...!?" Keima asked in distress as he rose his left eyebrow. "This is your mess! And if we get caught because of this..." He gripped his hands. "You should take responsibility."

"Hah..." Fujiidera sighed after she realized he was right. Even though the world of curses is brutal, they still live in a society where an act of murder is the highest deed of immorality. "Fine, I'll hide the body." And besides, she's the one that killed him after all.

"Wait, hide the... body!?" Keima was quite speechless and surprised to hear her solution.

"Yeah, unless you wanted to dirty yourself even further." Fujiidera said in a monotonous tone before walking into Ryou's body to grab the weapon that he used to threaten Keima's life. "Here, take this." She threw the Ballester-Molina at the God of Conquest, forcing him to catch it reflectively.

Keima looked upon the object, which he said in a solemn tone: "What what...? I don't ev—" Before she cut him off relentlessly.

"That's for pre-caution only. You never handle a gun before so use that only when it is necessary." Fujiidera explained briefly, but that doesn't convince him to actually use the gun. That is until she later added. "And don't worry, I'll teach you the basics on how to use it later on."

"Are you..." Keima said in a deadpan tone. "You know what, never mind." Of course, he felt quite grateful because now there was a way to protect himself. But still, to even hold a gun in the first place, he never believed that day would come. This feel like kinda those Western crime drama series that Dad's used to watch. He smiled a little as it remind him of his father. What would Dad thinks of me now when he sees me holding this, I wonder...? He then unconsciously looked at the broken phone that was caused by the collision of the sudden fall. Ayumi...

Suddenly, his left hand was clenching the moment his mind switched back to the threat that was told by the deceased Ryou.

That is until Fujiidera noticed that kind of gaze on him as he glared at the fragments of the phone itself. "She should be fine."

"What?" Keima asked in confusion.

"Takahara." Fujiidera replied without a second delay. "There's no one at the end of the call." At the same time, she dragged the body off the premise. "It's only a bluff made by Ryou."

"A bluff?" Keima repeated a word that she said in a questionable manner. "For what purpose?"

It took her two minutes to reply since she's been busy hiding Ryou's body in the bushes.

And when she's finally done with the deed, she answered calmly: "Because hurting a Goddess or their Host would only mean a declaration of war towards them, leading a possibility of this cursed world to also be revealed to those girls." Her tone was serious. "I don't know why The Clementine Movement nor the MJSA were very much complied for the Goddesses to not be involved with the conflict of this shadowy world, but one thing is for certain..." Her eyes were locked on him. "It's the same reason why Jujutsu Society is still being kept secret to the three worlds for thousands of years until now."

"I see..." Keima muttered after that explanation. "That's a relief, then."

"Hmm...?" Fujiidera intrigued by his reaction. "You seem too laid-back after what I've just told you regarding the Goddesses and their connection with the secrecy of this world. Someone told you about this before?"

"Yeah." Keima answered casually. "Gojo told me everything after he saved me from my supposed end three days ago."

Fujiidera went quiet for a while as her eyes narrowed in a fixation on his casual reply. "Interesting."

Listening to her response made Keima ask a question that he should have asked moments ago. "That reminds me, how did you and... Ryou know about Gojo?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Fujiidera asked back. "Everyone in Jujutsu Society knows about Satoru Gojo since he's the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer ever to exist."

That answer took Keima by storm. "The strongest!?"

"I'm not kidding." Fujiidera responded calmly before walking passed Keima and turning back slightly. "Anyway, we should get a move on."

After calming himself a little, and being interested in her choice of action, Keima asked without hesitation: "Where are we headed?"

"The Base of Maijima Jujutsu Sorcerer Alliance." Fujiidera answered with a serious tone. "It won't take a long time for The Clementine Movement to pick the puzzle pieces together and branded me as a traitor. So before that happens, we shall be two steps ahead of them."

"Wait, why there?" Keima asked for more information. "If The Clementine Movement is hesitant enough to launch their attack near the Jupiter Sisters, then my house should be quite safe." He continued after catching a little bit of breath. "Tenri, my childhood friend, she's one of the Goddess Hosts. It wou—"

"It could work." Fujiidera cut him off. "But it won't be much longer."

"Why? From my point of view, it's a simpler solution." Keima rebutted assertively.

"I agree, that is until The Clementine Movement decided to send her and hunt us down." Fujiidera answered as her tone began to shake.

For the first time seeing her in fear, Keima asked again instantly: "Her?"

Of which, Fujiidera didn't answer him. And instead, she disregarded his question like a fly. "Enough about this topic. In the end, it's useless. Trust me." She said as she continued to walk away from him.

Dumbfounded by her sudden changed behavior, Keima wanted to press her further as he noticed her sullen expression. Her eyes look terrified, what could have happened? But eventually, he decided to let the matter go for now and followed her from behind. "Fine. You're more experienced in this kind of situation than me after all." He said after admitting to falling back. "Anyway, where is this place exactly?" He asked, not even bothered by the stains of droplets on both of his lenses.

"Underneath the Wai Wai Road, there's a multi-layered hidden underground venue that could only be accessed by the Jujutsu Sorcerer." Fujiidera answered apathetically. "A black market's known as the Plotemy, that's the location of our base." Her words convinced him that heading to the MJSA Base was a safe option for both of them.

Except, what she didn't realize... the truth was far fiercer than that.

Since the one that they are proceeding is already filled with death and blood.

Location: Sapphire Café / Balcony / Third Floor / Fukawa District (01:44 PM)

Meanwhile, far away from their location, different from the one that Fujiidera has noticed before, a women were tracking them insidiously. With the white jacket as their uniform and the Kanji symbol of [クレメンタイン] branded on the right arm of the jacket; symbolizing the one that watched them is the Executive Advisor of The Clementine Movement.

Based on their action, they were actively talking to someone while sitting on a café chair at the balcony with an active laptop on their table.

"As we have predicted, Fujii-san is indeed one of the moles." The Executive Advisor said in a very composure manner. "It's a right choice for us to give false information about our attack to her and Ryou to cover up the massive scale ambush that we have launched at the MJSA Base within the Plotemy."

"A shame, but it's an unavoidable one." The other side of the call said in a disappointed tone. "However, with Fujiidera's action to lead the boy to her faction base, that should close our problem in taking care of Keiichi's son for good."

"I agree. But for reassurance, shall we notify our members to pursue them? In case of... some unexpected situation occurs?" The Executive Advisor proposed a contingency plan to her.

"That's a good idea." The caller responded positively. "I will check and call the members that are active in the area to track them down."

"There's no need for you to do that. Allow me, Vice-Leader Yanagi." The Executive Advisor replied with a little bit of a smile; unexpectedly, they also revealed the one they have been talking to. Reiko Yanagi, the Servant of the Shiratori Family and Vice-Leader of The Clementine Movement. "I've already checked the availability of our active members, and there are only three of them remaining since most of them are active at the Plotemy right as of this moment."

Astonished by their quick action and precise decision, Reiko asked curiously: "And who are they?"

"Koba, Saito, and... her." The Executive Advisor answered straightforwardly.

"Her? That lone psychopath?" Reiko wanted to confirm the given information.

"Yes. The one that pushed her own extremist to the limit." The Executive Advisor explained as they pointed out casually.

"I see..." Reiko said plainly. "That will do just fine. It's been a while since she's active in any duty," Her tone turned sinister. "And knowing her, she shall be very pleased when she's heard there are no rules in this one."

"I very much agree." The Executive Advisor spoke in an honest tone. "In that case, I shall notify them after our call is done." They proceeded to prepare the message ready to the three members with their laptops. "Moving onto the next topic of this end conflict, Vice-Leader Yanagi." Their warm tone began to diminish. "What about taking out the Vice-Leader of the MJSA?"

Reiko took five seconds to reply, as she already know how that story would end. "My benefactor and I have personally taken care of it."

Hearing those words, the Executive Advisor asked her bluntly in order to confirm their suspicion: "When?"

"Ever since Ino was declared dead." Reiko answered with a bit of remorse when she mentioned the name of Sanzo's son. "And you don't need to worry. This time, it would be them to hear the sorrowful melody of their closest one to fall."

"If that's the case, what's the sign of that success?" The Executive Advisor questioned the effectiveness of their plan.

"At the moment when the smoke has risen." Reiko responded confidently. "He has confirmed the credibility of the new technology that his organization has been building for the past years. And I was there to see the devastating result of its test run." An ominous tone began to rise from the way she spoke. "Besides, she already took those from my own hands and delivered them to his location. All that's left now is a sound of thunder and the sign of devastation that went high up to the very God themselves." Switching perspective to the person that calls the Executive Advisor, the scene now focused on a woman wearing a business suit with short brown hair, currently standing at the front gate that led to a huge oriental mansion.

The woman is revealed to be Reiko herself.

"I see." The Executive Advisor said plainly. "You trust him that much, aren't you?"

"He's one of a few people that I respected greatly, alongside Sir Sanzo." Reiko spoke apathetically, before pausing for a few seconds. "Anyway, when that's over I'll leave you to take care of the rest."

"It will be done." The Executive Advisor responded clearly.

"I'm thrilled to hear that." Reiko agreed with their notion. "Now that we have cornered those rats in their own cage as well... Sir Sanzo shall head to the base directly to deal with Akimitsu." Her eyes gazed upon the dark sky that was pouring its rain unto her. "The MJSA determination to retaliate will soon crumble."

"They may have already thought of themselves as a winner because of their mastery in controlling cursed energy. But the stage is not over yet." The Executive Advisor said earnestly. "We will crush them, Vice-Leader Yanagi."

"What an optimistic word to say." Reiko said straightforwardly. "Let's hope it all went well, Executive Advisor Okada." She ended the call. At the same time, revealing the name at the end of the call is Okada, the Manager of Kanon Nakagawa.

Location: Shiratori Mansion / Front Gate / Tanaka District / West Maijima (01:47 PM)

Looking at her phone intently after her call with Okada was over, Reiko forwardly typed in a new number, which was now limited to only three digits that were shown on her phone screen. As she calmly began to type the digits that would execute one of The Clementine Movement's major plans, a series of lightning started to run amok throughout the city scenery.

[BOOM] Unexpectedly, a wave of light caused by those flashes of lightning scintillated the entire city for the duration of 0.2 seconds, accompanied by a horrendous sound of pure agony.

Perfect timing. Reiko thought to herself calmly as she tried to balance her composure because of that sudden phenomenon. Such immaculate weather that will mark the beginning of the end to our long struggle. Hence without any more time to waste, she then quickly inputted those numbers in order.

[TAP] Firstly, the number two.

[TAP] Secondly, the number six.

[TAP] Lastly, the number three.

Thus, after all of those digits were put into their correct place, Reiko tap the call button.

And what happened next is an event that no one or even she would expect.

Act II

Expected Variable

Location: Somewhere Within a Small Apartment (01:25 PM)

A terrible rainfall in the middle of the day pushed most people to halt their outside activities. With no sign of stopping down either, the storm has marked today as their domain of power. So many families decided to not stand foolishly against nature and hid themselves inside their comfort zone within their prudent homes.

Including the many people that were living their best life in a very cheap apartment building near Maijima High School; one of the most notable people that lives there is a certain girl that has now been living her school life with her mother and Chauffeur.

"Milady... why do you wear your school uniform even though today it's your day off from school?" Her Chauffeur wearing a professional business suit asked in a curious but respectable tone. His name is Morita.

"It's because... because..." The girl with blond twin-tails hair appeared to be blushed at his question as she was wearing a standard Mai-High school uniform. Her name is Mio Aoyama. "I-I don't have that many clothes left! A-And this is one of my most comfortable uniforms, so stop asking me!"

"I-Is that so..." Morita replied simply, not questioning her taste in clothes any further. Therefore, he quickly surrendered to the harsh response that could push many people to stay away from such an arrogant young lady. Even though the truth was far from that and only a few people would know about it.

In this reality, those who live in luxury sometimes couldn't comprehend the bitter taste of poverty. Even as far as to mock the people from within the economic layers of society; those that suffer on the Proletariat level based on Marxism power hierarchy.

That's why according to the arguments of social analysis, it maybe seemed weird at first. Why would a rich girl with a Chauffeur decide to live and rented on a cheap apartment room?

Is it because she wanted to experience what's like to be poor? Or rather she just wanted to feel freedom from the shackling of the Bourgeoisie? Shockingly, the answer to those questions was none to any of the build-up hypotheses. As the justification for that one...

Were initiated by the unfortunate fall of her family assets, caused by her father's cessation.

For the past weeks, Mio has been working hard as a part-timer to secure her own economic value. Harsh as it was, her persistence to survive was driven by a particular person that involved with the Devils themselves. Although regrettably, the identity of that person she's already forgotten about it. It couldn't be said to the other man in the room with her.

Since nothing is what they always assumed to be.

"Looks like we have enough food for today, how lucky for us." Mio looked at her fridge which only contained six instant ramen cups, sufficient for her and her Chauffeur. "Morita, do you want one?"

"No Milady, I'm not interested." Morita refused her offer kindly. "You should take it instead. Recently, you haven't eaten much lately because of how much effort and dedication you've put into that part-time job of yours within the past week."

"!" Blushed by his genuine response towards consideration and kindness, Mio shouted loudly: "Do-Don't be silly!" However, realizing her sudden outburst, she then quickly composed herself. Her expression looked very mature, unlike before. "Look, let me treat you for once. You always stay by my side, so this is the least I can do to repay you back for all the problems that I've caused for you."

"Milady..." Morita muttered quietly as he's couldn't contain his surprise. Yuuri-sama... your daughter truly has grown up... He's very glad to see such a positive change in Mio. She developed from a rich brat who didn't appreciate anything in life, to a humble girl that now took even little things for granted. Just like mine... The slightest remembrance of his own daughter made him happy a little bit. Maybe back then they were very much like an ode of opposites, but I wonder if Yaza and Milady could meet up once more in the future... That thought excited him, but he quickly brushed it off without his Mistress's acknowledgment and put on a grateful mask in front of her with a smile. "Thank you, then I'll take that offer if you don't mind."

And in return, Mio smiled back like an Angel.

"!" Seeing that pure smile, Morita could only think of himself in pure nostalgia. That smile... He still remembered that pure smile. It was the very same smile that she gave when he returned to her side as her Chauffeur. If my assumption is correct on who's the one that supported her in the past... In truth, it was never known who was the person that changed Mio's life forever. After he took his position as her Chauffeur again four months ago, she thanked him for a beautiful dance on that fateful night; at the same time, changing her mindset to become a better person. Although it's very clear that he never had any memory of that romantic event, Mio was convinced it was him. But even so, there are many theories in his head.

It must be Keiichi's son. If that's the correct answer to the mystery, then it would make perfect sense. And that's because it aligns with the event that contained an anomaly; one of which Keima decided to confess to Mio out of the blue, pushing her to command Morita in order to bring him down with brute force. Even though he didn't approve of his Mistress's decision back then, he still did it for the sake of his professionalism.

Katsuragi sure was reckless, what was he even thinking when he confessed to her for the first time? All he knew about Keima was leaning more toward the secrecy involving the three worlds. With that boy having been working together closely with New Devils to save unfortunate girls from Weiss, Morita has been keeping a close eye on him after Keima's own conquest to conquer Mio herself. He knew this from the confidential intel by Gojo and his students; one of which described very little information regarding her conquest.

Such an immoral thing to do and yet it saved Milady's life... He felt bitter just thinking about it. The Jujutsu Sorcerer has no means to detect a Weiss. But, if Katsuragi wasn't there back then to protect Milady...! That possibility terrified him. I'm already failed once. I won't fail a second time. Only a few Higher-Ups within the MJSA were granted full information regarding Keima's secret performance and his connection with the Goddesses.

To be more precise, there are only nine people, besides Akimitsu himself.

And one of those said higher rank individuals is him; the person that holds the title as the Vice-Leader of the MJSA.

Location: Third Layer of the Plotemy / Main Base of the MJSA (01:25 PM)

At the same time when a peaceful time between two people occurred, a secret war has begun.

An ambush by The Clementine Movement that the MJSA didn't foresee beforehand has led the peak of their own war into a stalemate. With 138 members attacking the MJSA Base without mercy, all members of the MJSA that were present on the base have been dragged out from their little haven to fend off the invaders by any means necessary.

At first, there was confusion and shock among men and women of the MJSA. From their perspective, it's not possible for Non-Sorcerers to know or even enter this hidden part of Jujutsu Society in the first place as it is bounded by a restricted domain boundary; governed completely by the Eye. The origin of that restriction is unknown. But, history has shown from the Edo Period that the Eye has condemned people with diminutive cursed energy so much, if those people enter the black market anonymously despite their experience of encountering Cursed Spirits before, they all will be killed off immediately on the spot. Hence, that's the origin of the one rule that the Plotemy has offered relentlessly.

The proof of cruelty, marked by an unknown entity, should be enough to close off The Clementine Movement's chance of breaking through the barrier that tore apart the line between mastery and fakery.

However, they did it successfully.

And now, that Non-Sorcerer faction has bravely launched their all-out attack to destroy the unprepared members from existing. A cataclysmic episode that has been manifesting into all three layers; all of which forcibly turned into a warzone. And roars of men and women that accompanied the Non-Sorcerers rally to end the MJSA once and for all, even causing several casualties from the bystander themselves.

For around 26 minutes it has been progressing, the battle between the MJSA and The Clementine Movement was brewing even more intensely, accompanied by dead bodies from both factions that have been falling from left and right.

And in the midst of it all, one particular girl stood still from the chaos in front of her; blood staining her Maijima Jujutsu Sorcerer Alliance uniform and her emotionless face, with her knife...

"Wh... why...?" Has stabbed down a member of the MJSA. "Trai... tor..." Accordingly, that also was the last word that she muttered to the girl.

But even so, her eyes were dead like a corpse. "Am I doing the right thing...?" Her knees dropped to the ground. "I betrayed the people that gave me kindness. All for the sake of my mission..." She gritted her teeth and put her hands on her face. "Is this... truly... the right thing to do...?" Her breath became heavier and heavier, until at a short distance...

"You know it is." Another feminine voice immediately caught her guard off with an icky surprise.

As Mio is busy heating up the ramen cups for both her and Morita in the kitchen; loaves of sandwiches that she didn't touch to eat were laid out in the open beside her father's memorial altar, with incense is burning dimly to honor him. Out of nowhere, an unexpected phone call suddenly rang that vibrating the entire room with its upbeat tone.

"Huh...?" Noticing the sound originated from his phone, Morita quickly picked it up only to see that the sudden call came from an unknown number. "This is...?" Of course, he himself knew who it was. But, in order to not notify his Mistress, who was concentrating on making the ramen, he swiftly went out of the room and decided to take it from there.

After the coast was clear, Morita reluctantly accepted the call, ignoring the vicious rain that was happening right at that moment. "Ayako, it's me. What happened?" He asked the caller in a firm manner.

"Morita, I'll cut to the chase." A woman's voice came out from the other side of the line. Her name is Ayako Yama. "A report just came in from our spies within The Clementine Movement. And... it's bad, really bad." By her tone, something terrible sure has happened. "You need to watch your back."

"Watch my back...?" Listening to her warning, Morita was genuinely confused. "Ayako, what are you talking about?"

"They have made their move to target you," Ayako rose her tone. "Don't trust anything that's in your location! Especially since The Clementine Movement have been am—" [CUT] However, right before she filled him in the most important information of all, the call got disconnected. Like there's someone who's interrupting the connection between him and her.

"Hello? Ayako? Ayako!?" With their call abruptly ending, Morita looked at his phone with astonishment. He tried to call the number again in bitterness, but his attempt didn't bear any fruit. "The signal has been cut off..." He gritted his teeth as his frustration build-up significantly.

What is happening!? He recalled his short conversation with Ayako, including her unforeseen warning. Those bastards...! And that's when he realized that the adversary of the MJSA could be the reason for this mysterious anomaly. Could it be that The Clementine Movement have made their move against us!? As he reached the fatal conclusion, he was also reminded of something. If that's the case...! Horrified by a sudden realization, he immediately ran over to the very edge corner of the apartment building to grab a mysterious package that he has secretly received 25 minutes ago.

A package that could become the ground zero for a much sinister purpose.

Surprised by the sudden familiar voice, the girl quickly turned her head, and what she saw was none other than her peer; or to be exact, her partner in crime.

"Don't worry it's just me, Mobuko-san." Another girl responded to her calmly while grabbing one of the heads that she has beheaded mercilessly; revealing herself to be Hiyori Sakurai.

"Hiyori...?" The girl said with a low tone. Her name is Mobuko Kana. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at the Second Layer. Not here."

"I know. I just want to visit a fellow companion. Can't I even allow you to do that?" Hiyori asked with a smile.

"In the middle of these bloodbaths?" Mobuko asked back.

"Of course," Hiyori said without a care in the world. "Nobody care what we do at this moment. They're busy turning themselves into..." She looked at the fresh corpse that her partner has killed. "Her. A lifeless hunk of nobody." Looking at her fallen comrade, Mobuko stayed quiet. "Your determination is wavering, isn't it?" Her fellow Insurgent Agent asked calmly.

"I... I..." Mobuko gripped her right hand that held her knife. "I don't know if I can keep doing this, Hiyori..." She confessed to her. "I know my duty as an Insurgent Agent is to infiltrate and fulfill my mission. But..." Her mind wandered into a certain memory. "These people... I've created genuine friendships with them over these past seven months. We chat together, we... laughed and cried together, sometimes we even told each other embarrassing stories, mostly about the boys." Tears started to fall from her eyes. "They... they were my... friends..."

Respecting a remembrance that caused Mobuko to be depressed, Hiyori listened to her story without saying a single word.

"When the Eye shut down and I lured The Clementine Movement members into the MJSA Base, they were there... gazing at me with a horrified look on their faces." Mobuko eyes were filled with sorrow. "And it was at that moment, I know what must be done. But I-I..." She covered her face even further. "I can't do it...! Instead, I'm trying to reason with them!" Her breath began to shake uncontrollably. "I know I shouldn't do that, but... I don't want to hurt them. Not until they... attacked me first with the intention to kill..." Her tone started to break down. "All of them called me a traitor, so they forced my hands. But... but instead... I... I KILLED them all...!"

And with that, Hiyori has listened enough to her dismay. "You did what you have to do, Mobuko-san. It was either them or you."

"But...!" Mobuko tried to disagree with her.

"Listen to me," Hiyori said in a cold tone, her usual smile was gone. "We never have the privileged to live a normal life once we became Insurgent Agents. Everything that we did is for the sake of a debt that we must pay for the people that took pity on us and raised us." Her eyes met with hers. "We're nothing more than a pawn, and they were nothing more than a tool for us to use. It's our only way to live."

That last sentence resonated so much with Mobuko. A quick reminder that her normal life was non-existent in the first place.

"Remember what Shiina-san has said to us: control your emotion; never took pity on your surroundings. That is why we must only focus on our mission and completed them to the best of our abilities. For never attaching ourselves with an innocent is the best salvation to our sanity." Hiyori smiled at her partner again. "So move on from this tragedy and be the ruthless girl that you always were, Mobuko-san..."

"!" Like a wake-up call from the Devil themselves, hearing those words invoked something in Mobuko; sheer darkness gripped her heart tightly to ease the pain that she has felt greatly.

At the hidden location which no one would dare to enter, Morita frantically unboxed the questionable gift and opened it.

"At first, it was my assumption. But if that warning from Ayako is true..." His breath caught up to him as his blood boiled. "They really plan to kill me along with Milady with this...!" Inside the package was nothing more than a bunch of chocolate cake bundled up neatly together. However, that's nothing more than a façade to hide the real intention of the parcel. "If the one who picked this up is Milady, I can't even imagine the outcome would gonna be." The most disturbing thing about the package is that it's intended for Mio, sent over by none other than her childhood friend, Yui Goidou. It's even written on the box, complete with Yui's own signature and a personal note to the supposed poor girl.

But that deceit was quickly discovered by Morita since he knew it was nothing more than an illusion. "I can't believe they successfully track me down. Are those bastards have moles as well!?" He thought back to the many loyal members that allied themselves with the MJSA. "How did they know who I am?" Those were the questions that he didn't have the answers to, although he sure needed it right at this very moment. "I need to investigate that later. For now..." He focused his attention back on the deadly trap that The Clementine Movement have set up beautifully for him. "Ink of Perseverance. What a genius Cursed Tool that they used. Good thing I quickly took this before Milady even noticed this gift exist in the first place." He muttered in a sarcastic tone as he examined the package, hoping to find anything worthy. Or at least that was the plan that he had.

Since not even a minute later, he found it.

This is...! A mechanical piece of death that could impact numerous people on its way; one of the most devastating weapons ever to exist within the footnote in mankind's history. "So they really have done it..." Morita's face now darkens like a Demon. "Putting a bomb in here in the hope for Milady to receive this innocently, they must be really confident to think this kind of cheap trick would work." His voice resounded into pure rage. "They will not get away with this." His left hand formed into a fist. "They will pay for this trickery!"

[BOOM] A thunder immediately echoed throughout the skies and shook the ground at that exact juncture. But Morita didn't even flinch for one bit.

As the rain was pouring on him even harder, he began to think about another matter. This time, one that is very much closer to his familial heart. "Yaza... I'm sorry, looks like I have to break our promise to not use violence." Ignoring the droplets that has been falling from the sky, he took out a single photo from his breast pocket, which showed a girl who was smiling at the camera, wearing a Misato Hisagi High School uniform. "I know you'll gonna berate me for this decision that I've made, but I hope you're also not doing something stupid at the base with your friends as well." Without him realizing it, he formed a small smile on his face as he started to remember many happy memories with her one and only daughter.

Looking at her photo, it was only a few things that could keep his emotion in check; at the same time, delighting him from a rage that have been dwelling within him earlier, which has cooled down tremendously. I'm curious if Milady and Yaza could be best friends again, even after their feud has ended so many years ago, maybe when the time is right... Suddenly, he remembered something crucial. "Milady... I shouldn't keep her waiting."

Intending to return back to Mio's house before she got suspicious, Morita calmly began to do what must be done first: removing the ominous package that would mark the end of it all. "I'll make this quick." He then pointed his index finger at the box, like a handgun. "Horobiru." And not even 0.5 milliseconds later, the package decayed into nothing more than a rotten slime that stained the ground. Looks like I do not even need to do my other technique after all. That's good at least. For him, an Innate Technique was all he needed to neutralize The Clementine Movement's deadly trap. It was more effective this way.

And after that was done, he walked further from the gooey slime without ever looking back.

With Hiyori's statement crushed Mobuko's will to refute back, all she could do was tolerated reality.

One that brought back her twisted perspective on life and loyalty. "Ruthless... huh..." Mobuko's face was darkening, like a soldier that finally found her purpose again. "I guess... you do have a point..." She got up from her fall. "This is my sin to bear with after all." She then walked closer to her friend's corpses and picked up a knife that she used to kill them. "But don't get me wrong, Hiyori. They were my friends, and I will cherish them till the day I die."

"Even after they tried to kill you?" Hiyori asked coldly. "I guess your heart did soft a little after you engaged with those fallen girls."

"Say what you want," Mobuko fired back. "In the end, I did my duty. And you know my loyalty will always be towards Et Umbra." She walked passed her before muttering another word. "Cause like you said, this is a debt that we can never repay." And with that, she left the grisly scene.

Hiyori couldn't say anything after her rebuttal. However, she did notice something peculiar. "Loyalty, you say..." At that word, she grinned sinisterly. "It seemed like you missed my point, Mobuko-san." She glanced once more at the corpse. "We're going to die someday, but it's never about loyalty that kept us going." Noticing a photo that was dropped by one of the victims that Mobuko has killed, Hiyori picked it up. "It's rather fear and hatred towards the people that have abandoned us. Hoping one day we will get the revenge that we deserved." Focusing on the photo, she took out her lighter and burned the photo to ashes. "The equality for this cruel society; an anti-thesis to the asymmetry of this very life that we live in." As the photo was burning, it revealed two people that were in that picture, smiling perfectly at the camera.

A girl wearing a blue dress, with a pure smile and her hands formed a peace sign; the one who died.

And the other, a middle-aged man wearing a professional business uniform, also with a joyful smile on his face.

Act III

Vice of a Disappearance

By the time Morita returned to his Mistress's house, Mio has already finished preparing food for him and her.

"You're back." Mio said to him as she looked at him with curious eyes. "Where have you been?"

"Just outside of the house Milady, there's a call that I must pick up earlier." Morita answered, which was based on the truth.

"A call?" Mio asked straightforwardly; wanting to pursue his own personal matter with the phone call. However, she changed her mind immediately at the very last second. "Never mind. Anyway, the food's ready." She glanced at the two cups of ramen that she has made, before giving one of them to her long-time Chauffeur. "Be careful when eating it, it's still hot." True to her word, the ramen itself is boiling from the flame that ignited it, with steam coming out relentlessly from the cup.

As Morita received the ramen from Mio, it took at least six seconds before he responded to her in a grateful tone: "Thank you... Milady." A little smile formed on his face like he once before.

And Mio didn't give a verbal response to his gratefulness. But rather only a nod, with a small grin forming on her face.

Current Time: 01:44 PM (Phase of Serenity)

Tranquility in the middle of a raging rain like this is sometimes what both of these individuals need to improve their bond with each other. A connection that could only be considered as a relationship between the master and her Chauffeur.

While a false event like The Fateful Dance Under a Full Moon at 63rd Flower Banquet was what pushed Mio to finally show kindness to him. For Morita, this little session of eating cheap food together is nothing more than an opportunity to finally fix the bridge that his frustration has caused a few months ago; an internal crater that remained strongly until Keima Katsuragi decided to fix it for the sake of his conquest.

Although truthfully, there's a deeper layer of reason as to why he needed this moment of peace; a temporary getaway from the detrimental inconvenience that he has dealt with a few minutes earlier. One that involved a world that he doesn't want his Mistress to know about.

For a whole minute, Mio and Morita didn't interact with each other.

Until suddenly, his Mistress called out to him: "Morita..."

"Yeah... Milady?" Morita responded directly.

"How's Yaza these days...?" Out of nowhere, Mio asked him about his daughter.

And that curiosity of hers made Morita widen his eyebrows a little bit. "Yaza? She's doing fine."

"I see..." Hearing that, Mio dropped her cup of ramen gracefully. "Has she... changed a lot?"

Changed..? At first, Morita didn't understand what she meant. That is before everything clicked within the back of his mind and realized what she wanted to know regarding the mental development of Yaza. "Yeah, she has." His memories with her began to replay in his head. "I mean... she now has a few friends that she can rely on, and also her cooking skills have improved greatly since five years ago..." His tone falter as he looked upon Mio. "Huh...?"

Which now has a sad expression on her face. "I'm glad to hear that." She uttered while her head lowered slightly.

"Milady..." Morita muttered as he stopped eating his ramen and looked her in the eye. "Is something wrong?"

"Wha...?" Mio stuttered in confusion. "Wh-What do you mean?"

"You look like you're in anguish," Morita said in honesty.

"N-No... I'm not..." She tried to look away in order to hide her true feelings. "I'm just..." But to do so isn't her specialty. "Wanted to see her again..."

Hearing her confession made Morita to be interested more in her answer. "You wanted to meet Yaza?" He asked straightforwardly.

"I... am...! Hmph!" Mio admitted heavily after regaining her serenity with an act of a cute pout to her end. "But don't get me wrong! After what happened between us last time, I really wanted to show her that I have changed as well!" She then added another word. "I'm not the same egoistic girl from before."

Morita didn't expect that to come out of her mouth. Especially since his daughter also desired to do the same when one day she could meet with Mio again. Looks like you're not the only one that wanted to prove her wrong, Yaza... He felt at ease knowing that his Mistress also has the exact objective as Yaza. "I see. If that's the case..." Without warning, he patted his Mistress head like a child. "I'm sure my daughter would be very pleased to hear that, Milady."

"Morita..." Mio muttered happily, with her cute face beamed significantly, alongside comfort from the head patting by her Chauffeur. "Thank you."

As she was very pleased to hear his reassurance, Morita's about to respond to her once more. "There's no nee—"

[BEEP] [BEEP] That is, an ominous sound began to echo timidly throughout the room; changing the wholesome atmosphere into a tense one without any warning. Of course, this has caused Morita to be alarmed. "Wh... what...?" Turning his once smile into an expression of pure horror.

"Wh-What is that... sound...?" And understandably, Mio's started to panic as well.

Current Time: 01:47 PM (Phase of Hysteria)

A looming faint sound of an emergency alarm from the unknown created a dread feeling among the individuals in the room, causing Mio and her Chauffeur to abandon temporarily what they'd been doing for the past few minutes.

Breathe... breathe... Morita tried to calm himself as his eyes were wary, but deep down his emotion erupted into chaos. It's not possible... All because he was familiar with this kind of vicious sound. But if it is... He truly believed that the enigmatic gift box was their grand trick to kill him covertly. This could be the worst scenario possible... However, it seemed it was only a lure to lower his guard down.

And because of that, knowing what must be done and no more time to waste, Morita quickly got up from his position and commenced to survey the whole room. I must find it fast! Meanwhile, Mio who doesn't know anything of what's happening at the moment could only gaze at him from below. Her sudden fear and puzzlement were the grand reason for her to do so.

Thus, with the ruthlessness of precipitation becoming the melody of this intensity, Morita started to investigate the many parts of the apartment room, hoping to find the suspicious object that would mark the end of them all. It's not even in here... where is it? Where? Where!? His frustration couldn't be contained any longer. I thought I've destroyed it! How did they able to infiltrate Milady's house!? He felt like a failure, but he must keep his composure. I have to find it, before...

[BEEP] [BEEP] Precisely, caught at the perfect timing, the notorious forewarning suddenly returned. This time, it was crystal clear, and both of them could hear it very well within the spacious area. Consequently, because of that sublime quality of coincidence, Morita began to gaze in terror at the hidden evil that was placed beside the memorial altar of Mio's father. Could it... be...? The reason for that is because he always assumed that the Cursed Tools... or the ticking machinery were some kind of metal object, thus could be easily detected like that bomb that he has destroyed earlier.

Not some kind of object that he never imagined was possible to manipulate.

This was... His sweat triggered to fall from his forehead. Foremostly, his legs began to turn really hefty when he tried to walk closer and closer toward the source of its nefarious signal.

Since by the time he realized the origin that shadowed the toll of an ingenious trap, it was all but overly late.

Current Time: 01:49 PM (Phase of Conviction)

Currently watching his deviant behavior after realizing the location of that mysterious alarm, Mio tried to ask him what he found, although her voice tone became stuttered because of the tension.

"Mo-Morita...?" She stood up and looked at him with determined eyes. "Are you okay?" It took a few seconds for him to reply.

And when he finally did, Morita asked his Mistress to take action immediately. "Milady, how about you stay outside for a little while?"

"What...? Why do yo—" Mio tried to refute, but Morita quickly reassured her.

"Please trust me on this one." He said in a serious manner. His cold tone caused Mio to open her eyes. She had almost never seen that kind of expression on Morita in all her life.

She wanted to ask questions regarding his sudden change of behavior. But for now, it seemed Mio didn't have any choice at all, even though her anxiety started to rise tremendously. "O-Okay..." It was the only thing she could do for him.

"Thank you... Milady..." Morita said to her with a smile to hide the bitterness in his tone; one that is filled with fake persona.

"!" Unfortunately, the moment when she opened the apartment door and was inches away from the outside world, Mio caught a glimpse of that phony comfort of his; a tone that reminded herself of when she had her last talk with Yaza, her once childhood friend that was lost. "Morita..." Leading her curiosity to finally got the better of her; contradicting the conceded mindset that she has painted earlier. Therefore, with renewed perseverance, she turned around to ask the one thing that's been eating her inside: "Everything's gonna be okay, right?" She looked him straight in the eyes.

"What...?" Her unexpected question almost made Morita lose his composure. I need to calm down. He tried to reassure her again. "Of course... you don't need to worry about a single thing, Milady." For some reason, his hands started to tremble.

"...Then why are you telling me to leave?" Mio asked directly about the crux of the matter. "Why are you looking so worried about the beeping sound that we just heard? What is it that you're trying to do?" For every crucial question that launched from her mouth, she pressed the concern even further. "I don't... understand it at all..." Unwillingly stepping closer to the secret that he's trying to hide from her.

"It's not like that... I..." Morita attempted to make a valid reason. Till the grave sound of [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] was getting more frequent than ever before; driving the abnormality to its highest extent.

No... it's already... He thought to himself in advance as his heart was conflicted greatly. "Milady, listen to me." His frantic eyes met with hers for one last time before turning his back to face The Clementine Movement's trap within the house. "Whatever happens next, please stay safe."

"Morita?" Mio started to feel uneasy. "Wai—" Unfortunately, it was at that moment Morita made up his mind and didn't give her any more chance to excavate the truth of the situation.

"I'm sorry!" He exclaimed in pain before pushing her lightly from the room and locking up the door. [CLICK] Thus after accomplishing so, he lowered his head in shame and muttered faintly: "It's me that they want."

At the same time, in the wake of being pushed away by her Chauffeur. "Morita? Morita!" Mio cried out relentlessly and attempted to open the locked door with all her might. "Morita! Open the door!" As the sound of rainfall accompanied her despair and confusion, she called his name desperately. "MORITA!" But to no avail, her pure and valiant effort went for nothing.

It wasn't an easy task for him to do what must be done. However, he did all of that in order to not let Mio be involved any further.

"It must end now." Ignoring the emotion that he has felt earlier, Morita's eyes changed like a murderous man that wouldn't show mercy to anyone. "This trickery, whatever this is, I will destroy it." Both of his hands were now engulfed with cursed energy, targeting the object which now has shown its true colors.

[BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] A color that was dyed with a massage of death; an innocent lure that brought him to this moment.

"To think that they use Milady's favorite food in order to trick her. How disgusting." As ridiculous as it may seem, the ticking bomb has been implemented deeply into the substance on the loaves of sandwiches that Mio has been saving for a month to buy. It was the result of her hard work, and she wanted to bring those proof before her father's memorial as a symbol of success and accomplishment toward her better self; also for payment since she never lit up her incense for her deceased father before. "Even though I'm their target, they dared to spit on Milady's hellish struggle." It was more than a lure to trap him. "Are they willing to go that far just to achieve victory against us!?" His frustration was beyond anything. "What a bunch of cowards." He aimed his index finger at the food existence, ready to activate his Innate Technique before the vile countdown reaches the desired zero.

That is, a cry of a young girl has reached his ear.

"Morita! Open the door!" Mio yelled as her voice harmonized with the sound of falling rain. "MORITA!" Her tone was very much frantic in hopelessness.

But even so, Morita ignored her plea. He already had enough for The Clementine Movement to expose him like this. She didn't run away, even though I have treated her harshly just now. Nevertheless, that didn't mean he didn't want to seek tribulation for his sins. I'm sorry Yuuri-sama, I have to hurt your daughter deliberately today. The air surrounding him started to circulate intensely. For I won't allow myself to fail a second time. He's hell-bent on keeping his promise at all costs.

Since at this very moment, that's exactly what he wanted to prove.

Even as far as to risk his own life.

"Horobiru." A single word uttered from his mouth. Thus, the pure energy at the tip of his index finger wallops the iniquity within the span of 0.8 milliseconds. [BUZZ] Critically hitting the hidden evil without any merciful intent; accompanied by a glorious faint of scarlet flash which confirmed the effect of Expansive Technique to be ventured into the many molecules of Omelette-Soba sandwiches that about to launch its devastating surge at t-minus 27 seconds into nothing more than a puddle of foul slime.

In other words, his certain glorious victory is already at hand.

[BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] [BEEP] Or... is it?

"I knew it won't be that easy," Morita said to himself as a timer continues to fall into a grinder of naught.

Current Time: 01:52 PM (Phase of Confliction)

For what is like a minute, to her, it felt like forever. She didn't know what the heck is going on, nor what kind of event that has just transpired. A few minutes ago, she and Morita were having a very nice meal and a conversation that made her reminisce a little in regards to her childhood friend.

However, in a flash... it all went away like a fleeting dream.

And now, Mio found herself in front of a door that has been locked away by her Chauffeur. "Morita... please..." She tried again relentlessly to open the door, even as far as to implore while her strength started to leave her body because of the confusion and intensity that she experience abruptly.

Why didn't you tell me anything...? Mio's beautiful blonde hair was dripping from the droplets of rain. Just what's happening...? As she tried to question herself again, her legs finally gave in on her whilst she dropped down to her knees and sank her head low. Morita... His words were very much stuck with her. He wanted her to stay safe, but what is it that she has to protect herself against?

And most importantly, what is the danger that he was very much afraid of?

This doesn't make any sense... Frustrated as she may be, she longed to find out the hidden truth.

Cause this premature event is the one thing that she could never understand.

Gazed with expected eyes to an event he was very much afraid would occur, Morita didn't waste any more time to make his next move.

[BUZZ] [BUZZ] With strokes of fulmination already fuming from the ground; creating a perfect circle around him and a puddle of slime that by now already tainting the photo and incense within the altar of Mio's father, his left hand grasped with his right to assembling a sign that signaling his own extreme measure to finish a job that should have ended the moment he destroyed that box 27 minutes ago.

A Barrier Technique that I've learned from the secret of the Ashikaga Family that I discovered long ago, a Domain that's capable of breaking the law of physics without ignoring its own fundamental structure. Many molecules from the slime began to rise from within; floating in the air. And with this, I... He then spoke plainly, with the ground accepting a portentous juncture of his capability; a stunning flash of red light blinding the entire apartment room. "Actuality Technique: Rīpā." And also a familiar legacy that was left behind by a great family who failed to achieve greatness.

A technique that was used by others for necessary evil within the shadows.

[BEEP] [BEEP] [BE—] Therefore, with such a method that he has applied to his own current reality, the notorious sound was stopped temporary from the technique that has been activating; breaking off the whole variables into million fragments, alongside the altar and also the man who casted the Barrier Technique, into a place where emptiness is a normal norm to everything.

One that's far away from the girl's current setting.

Current Time: 01:53 PM (Phase of Glory)

No resources at her disposal were effective enough for Mio to open a gate that led her to the inside of her house, in an attempt to discover the real reason of her Chauffeur's actions. Since by that time, despair was already consuming her soul and body. Thus, acceptance was the only thing she could do in a situation where she knew nothing at all.

An enigma that was painted by a revelation of Morita's choice to keep her safe.

I don't know what to do... Leaning against the wall as she's sitting on the ground with both of her knees raised upwards so that it could get closer to her face, Mio conceived herself lost amongst the refrain of a drizzle and a negative thought that was circulating her mind unto the matter of impossibility. I'm scared... This is her pure emotion, accumulated from everything that has happened over the past 15 minutes; a reaction that's understandable, knowing she's only a civilian that doesn't know anything about the world of curses.

Her eyes were watery, her body started to get cold. Furthermore, Mio's legs and hands began to give in completely on her, as her mental state is worsening from the repercussion of this sudden event. I... But even so, there were a few things that could keep her positive emotion in check. I still remembered of what you told me, Morita... Such as the dance on that evening which changed everything for her.

A vital point that ultimately pushed her to become a better person.

Location: Miyamaki Manor / 63rd Flower Banquet / Rear Garden (Time: 06:15 PM) (Flashback)

Frustrated with the three egoistic gentlemen that mocked her verbally, alongside the unfortunate demise of her father, Mio couldn't help but feel a sharp hatred toward those foolish rich people.

A-Am I a loser...? B-But I'm Papa's daughter! She said to herself in exasperation. Held it deeply into her heart and locked it far beneath the warmth of her once innocence.

[CRACK] Before all of those things got crushed by the words of a man that charismatically said to her in advance.

Or is it the one who's she expected to be?

"...Won't you quit it already?" A boy who looked to be no older than 17, said to her critically while keeping his poker face. His appearance was covered in twilight. "Nothing will come of staying in a world like this, won't it? So just quit already..." The cruel truth that she's too afraid to admit it has now arrived in front of her doorstep.

"Shut up! I'm rich! I'm really rich!" Mio exclaimed desperately. "You're the one who said you'd help me!"

"But you've already done enough." The boy said with a deadpan expression. "Your father... would have been satisfied." His sharp gaze pierced through her fragile emotions. "You don't want to forget your dead father, so you've been holding onto everything he taught you. That's why you continued to pretend to be the daughter of a company president without once offering incense at your father's altar." He approached her passionately. "But, it's time for you to walk your own path in life!"

Choose... my own... path...? Mio's eyes widen at his words. No... as long as Papa still lives within me, how could I... Her tears started to fall as she tried to reject everything that he has told her.

Even though all of them were true and precise.

"Papa... will never die...!" She held on to her false fantasy firmly. "Papa will live on in my heart! As long as I hold on to what he taught me!"

Inducing the boy bravely put an end to that once and for all. "But just yesterday you smiled!" He grabbed her hands in order to not let go of her. "As someone who never smiles... didn't you especially have fun yesterday?" Hearing that, Mio was stunned as she realized her own verity. "That smile you had yesterday, I want to see more of it!" Hence, he went straight to the kill. [CRASH] For his declaration irrevocably destroyed the girl's perception to reality, like an alluring crystal that shattered into million pieces.

Back to the Present

After recollecting such memories from her psyche, Mio raised her head as she noticed something was wrong with her present apprehension.

"Who... is that?" Mio muttered faintly. "Wasn't the one who said those was Morita...?" Once more, another mystery is added to her mental list, which drove her to be distressed as she is torn amidst the truth and lies. "Wh-What is going on...?" As well as her paranoia started to emerge from those inner turmoils.

At the same time, a flash of red light radiated through the window. "H-Huh...?" Causing Mio to notice such inconceivable peculiarity that was happening right in front of her eyes, with diminishing sound that led to nothing more than silence. "M-Morita..." She quickly got up and took a step back, accompanied by mannerisms that symbolized her current fear. "Wh-What did you... do...?" Granted for her puzzlement, the tunnel to that answer is enclosed comparatively.

As the once door that has been locked from the inside is also slowly opened, although it seemed the lock itself let out an exiguous extent of smoke.

"The door!" And so, without any more time to waste, nor questioning of how the lock could release such smoke, Mio quickly rushed into the room, where she could finally obtain an explanation that would put everything in her mind to rest.

But what she found instead...

"Huh...? Where is...?" A disappearance, for Morita and her father's altar; an undeniable proof that showed Mio the footprints of impossibility.

As well as...

[KABOOM] An event from miles away that's linked to that vile evanescence.

A clear devastation that he has left behind.

Location: Fukawa District / East Maijima (01:55 PM)

Hearing an enormous explosion that immediately grabbed Keima and Fujiidera's attention, both stopped in the midst of their track to witness a smoke that echoed throughout the city.

"That... can't be real." Keima said as his eyes were filled with terror. "Do you think..."

"I... don't know..." Fujiidera answered immediately, with her tone didn't as compose as she once before. "But if it is what we're imagining, then the more reason for us to reach the base quickly."

"I-I agree." Keima said plainly. "We should keep moving." However, contradicting to what he felt, his heart didn't deem the same as his verbal action. I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this. He acknowledged his situation. Is this really a good option for us? To keep on moving toward the destination that she assumed could be a safe haven? He stared cautiously at Fujiidera as he kept following her from behind. And who is this girl that she really afraid of?

So many questions in his head. And yet...

Only a little bit of truthfulness has shown itself.

If that explosion also connected to this shadowy conflict between the MJSA and The Clementine Movement... He clutched his left hand in vexation. Then there's no place left as safe haven in this city. His conclusion painted perfectly to the current situation in Maijima City. I should keep my guard up, that is till... He memorialized what Gojo has warned him back on that decisive day. His students could be in the area. Even though the madlad promised Keima that his pupils will protect him when the war between the two factions arrived. For now, he shall deal with this on his own; where he has tossed his gambling coin to the abyss.

And the result is already at the intersection between life and death.

Following a large explosion that marked the beginning of an end to both factions' deadly conflict, Imoko and Kusuma have their last conversation before both of them went their separate way.

Or in other words, heading toward the locations to progress the next step of their wicked plan.

"Tell me, Kusuma." Imoko said apathetically. "How much did you expect this would happen the moment you gave that experimental weapon of ours to that lady?"

"Nothing much." Kusuma responded straightforwardly. "I just pushed her desire to kill the Vice-Leader of the MJSA with the most effective method possible. And since she is also aware of Morita's exemplary capability of cursed energy, this is the only few options that she has left in order to reach victory."

"And yet you marked her location to one of our Apex Agents." Imoko pointed out a fact that's hidden from The Clementine Movement. "Do you think she'll survive?"

The moment he heard that question, Kusuma formed a light smile. "You tell me, Imoko. Do you assume that she will?"

Knowing him, there's only one answer for Imoko to respond to his counter query. "She won't. Because like the firm of our philosophy..." He gazed once more at the black smoke that elevated to paradise. "Equal to all men." True to that statement, it's not just Morita that has experienced the flaw to inverse the expected variable from the effect of the Second Phase.

Given that Reiko has crossed off from the list as well.

Location: Shiratori Mansion / Front Gate / Tanaka District / West Maijima (01:55 PM)

Pouring heavily from the rain that doesn't seem to incline at any point soon, stood by a girl with a knife in her hands; blood dripping from its blade, and a broken phone that was laid out on the ground.

With her objective has been finished flawlessly.

To kill Reiko Yanagi anonymously, after she's ignited an explosion to kill Morita.

"It has to be done." The girl with distinctive pink hair said without a sign of emotion. "But I will honor your memory for one last time." She then grabbed her phone from her pocket bag, displaying a picture that contained two people; one is a boy and the other is a girl. "For the equality of society." Before showing a bitter grin as she left swiftly the area.

Leaving behind Reiko's lifeless body as her eyes still opened in shock; the so-called glare of an undeniable betrayal, directly after she realized who was the one that has stabbed her mercilessly.

The one who's presumed still within the area of East Maijima, with her alias has been called by Reiko several times.

The infamous lone psychopath of The Clementine Movement.

Furthermore, an extremist who's willing to push her anarchy to the point of madness.

Actuality Technique: Rīpā: A Barrier Technique that's distinct from other Actuality Techniques, which is mostly focusing on offense. Passed down from the Ashikaga Family, the technique itself is more like a combination between teleportation and a barrier, with an eccentric spark of red lightning as a manifestation of a successful culmination between the Sorcerer's mind and their focus on perseverance will. In order to function: first, the Jujutsu Sorcerer must imagine a place where they wanted to be, and then their cursed energy must be aligned perfectly to the synergy of air for no less than 7 seconds. Failure to do so will result in the immediate death of their part without any granted mercy.

Apex Agents: An Insurgent Agent who has been acknowledged by Kusuma himself for their numerous achievements and immaculate talents. They longed for perfection. Thus, they were willing to eliminate anyone who stand in their way in order to achieve such an epitome result for a task that was given to them.

Horobiru: An Innate Technique, solely used by Morita. It's one of the most dangerous techniques that's heavily known within the circle of the Jujutsu Society in Maijima City as an instant death. With only one hit from the index finger of his left hand, he could convert living creatures and dead objects into rotten slimes within 3-6 seconds, and the effect is permanent. The accuracy for the technique isn't any lower than 99.7% and the speed for a guaranteed hit is between 0.5 — 0.9 milliseconds.

Author Notes

The rest of the chapters for Part Two will be around 10k words, with three Act each (or maybe more if the story demands it). And after that, the beginning of Part Three, where the story would mostly involve the awakened girls who have been conquered by Keima, and a new terrifying evil who's targeting them one by one.

I really hope it all went well for me to write this because I truly have learned a lot within one year of me writing this crossover fanfic.
