Nagisa ends up sleeping on a roof next to a vent that blows hot air every 15 minutes. It's not comfortable, but he doesn't freeze to death.
In the morning he heads home. Maybe mother will forgive him if he does absolutely everything she says? If he begs and scrapes and swears he'll be perfect?
The doors locked and he doesn't have the key.
He debates school. On the one hand, it would be warm. Plus, he could find something to eat on the mountain. His stomach growls in polite agreement.
On the other hand. He has no supply's, no uniform, no shoes and no explanation.
He decides to at least walk in that general direction. That gives him time to think.
On the way up the mountain he picks all the sloe berries he can get his hands on. They're bitter and dusty but nothing else eatable grows in November and they fill his belly.
At school he finds inspiration in the form of his P.E uniform and shoes which he had left them folded in his locker.
The worst part is trying to explain to the teachers why he was wearing his P.E cloths. He comes up with a long rambling story describing his washing machine malfunctioning and flooding his apartment till they get so confused they just send him to his seat.
Koro-Sensei loans him spare notebooks and pens.
"Now Nagisa my boy!" He says cheerfully. "This teaches a valuable lesson! Don't leave the washing machine on over night!"
The class in general was not impressed by this lesson so Koro-Sensei made a hasty retreat.
Nagisa lost himself in the monotony of school work and P.E exercises. Today was drills, something he was thankful for. All avoided human interaction was appreciated.
His stomach growled.
The end of the day crept closer. He changed back into his jeans and stayed after school to help the cleaning crew. Then he helped Koro-Sensei organise the equipment shed.
"Nagisa my boy." Said Koro-Sensei eventually. "I think it's time to go home now."
Nagisa shrugged and tried to look like he didn't care.
"Unless there's a reason you can't?" Koro-Sensei rested a tentacle on his shoulder.
"You can tell me if something's happening."
Nagisa nods. It'd be so easy. Koro-Sensei would make all the problems go away.
But how? What would he do? What could he do? He was a super being, but he couldn't make this particular problem go away. He'd call the police, who'd send him into foster care. If that happened he might have to leave school. Move far away.
And everyone knows what happens in foster care. Mother tells him almost every time he gets out of line. His skin crawls just thinking about it.
And he'd have to tell them 𝘞𝘩𝘺 he'd been thrown out. Would they want to help him after they found out what he really was?

"Thank you Koro-Sensei, but I'm fine. I'm just trying to put off doing my homework."
Koro-Sensei laughs and he heads away to... wherever he spends non-school hours.
Nagisa takes a breath and knocks on his front door. He can hear his mother moving around inside. She's right next to the door. He knows she is.
"Mother?" He calls softly. "I'm really sorry. Please can I come in?"
Nothing.
"I'll be good. I promise."
Nothing.
"I'll do whatever you want me to. Anything!"
Nothing.
Eventually he walks away in defeat.
There's a dull ache in his stomach. The sloes hadn't filled him for long and it felt like his fingers and toes were going numb.
He couldn't sleep outside again. He really couldn't.
He tried. The roof he went to the night before
was occupied by a drunk women who threw a bottle at him.
The breeze rattled right through him and by 11pm he genuinely felt like he would freeze to death.
He walked up and down streets, trying to stick to the well lit areas. It wasn't until he was chased by half a dozen angry teenagers he finally made up his mind.
He sat in the same bus stop as before, heart beating fast. Maybe he wouldn't show up after all? Maybe he'd just sit there and nothing would happen. Maybe?
Was he really doing his? His stomach growled and every part of him burned from the cold.

Just when he thought this whole thing was a waste of time he heard the same man from the night before walk up behind him.
"Hey kid." He said, sitting down. "Your dad show up yet?"
Nagisa shrugged. He couldn't start the conversation, he really couldn't.
"The offer still stands." The man says. "My cars right over there."
Nagisa nods. His ears ring.
"You sure?"
"I'm cold." His voice feels very small.
"Come on kid." The man puts his hand on his back and guides him to the car. Nagisa climes into the passenger seat. The man turns the heating on full blast.
"Call me... Haru. Ok kid?"
"Ok."
They sit in silence for an awkward moment.
"I don't know what I'm supposed to do." Says Nagisa quietly. And he starts to giggle. He presses both hands over his mouth but he can't suppress it. It gets louder and louder till it pours out of him and Haru joins in.
He doesn't know how long this goes on for.
Eventually he stops gasping and Haru wraps an arm around him.
His presses a kiss for his forehead.
"Ready?" He says and Nagisa can't say anything.
Haru kisses a trail down his face to his neck and runs a hand up his leg.
Nagisa blinks and it's over. He's lying on the reclined passenger seat. Haru's sitting in the driver seat straightening his cloths. Nagisa sits up and stretches as best he can in the small space. His back hurts.
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥?
His mind feels blurry, the last 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 the last hour? The last hours just blank?
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
He doesn't know he doesn't know
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
"Thanks." Says Haru. "I had fun tonight."
"Ok."
"I'd love to do this again."
"Ok."
"You know where to find me."
"Ok."
Haru pulls money from his wallet and tucks it into Nagisa's hand.
"There's a small capsule hotel not far from here. It's really cheep if you need a place for the night."
Nagisa stares at him blankly. Right. It's night time. It's cold.
"Here." Haru wraps the scarf around him. "I'll drive you there."
They pull up outside the hotel and Nagisa gets out of the car.
"Thanks kid. Stay safe out there."
He nods and hugs the scarf tight. He stands on the sidewalk as Haru drives away.
It isn't until a particularly angry breeze digs right into his bones that he finally shakes himself and heads into the hotel.
The women behind the counter raises her eyebrows when she sees him, but excepts his money none the less.
The first thing he does is wash his cloths in a locked shower cubicle. Nagisa sat cross legged and used the complimentary soap to scrub the past few days from his cloths. His socks appear to be past repair. He hangs everything up on the door to dry.
Too bad he doesn't have an iron.
They're so wrinkled from when Haru...
He vomits so violently he can't stand uptight.
On his knees he heaved into the shower drain, his stomach spazaming painfully.
"Please" he chokes out.
"Please"
He curls up under the shower spray and wraps his arms tight around his stomach.
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
His skin crawls. He feels something slimy coat him all over inside and out.
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
His mothers face
Haru's face
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
Haru's face, contorted, mouth open and drooling as he
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
His mothers face, confronted, angry as
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦?
His mothers face bleeding
𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱
Haru's tongue dragging up his chest
𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱
Mother screaming, arms around his neck
And he Can't breath Please stop Stop stop Stop
And he claws at her face till the skin comes off under his finger nails
𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺
"I hate you! I hate you I hate you!" Her face so shocked, and it's true he hates her he does but
"I'm sorry Mother"
Too late, it's too late
he ruins everything everything everything
Nagisa wakes up in the morning still on the floor of the shower.
He pulls himself to his feet, shuts off the water and dresses in his slightly crumpled cloths. This is fine.
He is fine.
He wraps Haru's scarf around his neck and heads into the crisp morning.
With some more of the money he got from... earlier, he buys hot bread for breakfast (nothing's ever tasted so good) a notebook and pens.
With a smile on his face he makes his way up the mountain for school.
