Rosalina and Pit walked out of the temple towards the Lightning Chariot. Normally, a newlywed couple may take a limo to their reception party but being on a floating island in the sky would make that impractical. It already made parking a pain. The Lightning Chariot would at least let them fly across the sky to their reception.
As Pit and Rosalina approached the chariot, Rosalina stopped. "Oh, wait!" Rosalina said, "I still need to do one thing…" Rosalina flung the bouquet behind her. Pit watched as many of the women attending dove for the bouquet. He escorted Rosalina onto the seat of the chariot.
"Phos! Lux!" Pit yelled at the unicorns pulling the chariot, "Let's go!" The two flew off in a flash of light to the reception hall.
Pit had chosen chicken as his dinner, and Rosalina had gone with the fish. Pit's groomsmen sat on his side of the table and Rosalina's bridesmaids sat on her side.
Once dinner had been completed, Pit and Rosalina sliced their wedding cake together. They handed out slices to their friends and the other attendees before getting their own slices and sitting back down. The bridesmaids and groomsmen gave their toasts to the newlyweds.
Marth stood up. "Back when Pit and I first met," he said, "I feel there may have been some…animosity between us. But as we've fought alongside each other, we've found that we have more in common than either of us thought. We both want to fight for what's right and to protect our loved ones. And we both think the women from the Mushroom Kingdom are beautiful." Peach blushed and smiled at that comment. "So, I wish the two of you centuries, if not eons, of happiness together." He sat down, with the others applauding.
With her husband sitting down, Peach stood up. "Rosalina, ever since you helped the Mario Bros. rescue me from Bowser and Bowser Jr., I've known that you're a good woman. Spending time with you, whether it's go-karting or tennis or golf, you've seemed like someone who needed friends, and you've grown so much happier since we first met. I'm so glad that, by joining the Smash tournament, you could meet someone whom you want to spend the rest of your life with. I'm so glad Pit makes you happy and that you make him happy."
Roy stood up. "I didn't get to meet Pit as early as Marth did," he said, "So I didn't get a chance to know him as well as Marth does. But from what I've seen, Pit, you seem like quite an upstanding angel. You have a good head on your shoulders, a good heart in your chest, and incredible skill with a bow and arrow. I know these skills combined with your love for Rosalina and your fellow man will help you in overseeing the universe." He sat back down.
Samus stood up. "Rosalina, I've known Pit for quite a long time. The kid's got a lot of excitement and a lot of energy. I'm amazed you're able to keep up with him and that he hasn't worn you out yet." A few people chuckled. "But seriously, Pit, you've found yourself a wonderful lady, and Rosie, you got yourself a wonderful man. Don't mess this up. If you two do something stupid to ruin your relationship, I'll be there to kick both of your asses until you're back together." People weren't quite sure to laugh or not. "No pressure!" She sat down.
Link stood up. He cleared his throat. Everyone looked at him to see what he was going to say. He gave a thumbs-up and smiled at Rosalina and Pit. He sat back down. Everyone applauded lightly.
Zelda stood up. "Thank you for the brevity, Link. Rosalina, I can't say I know you as well as Peach or Samus. But what I can say is you're such a nice, lovely woman. And I hope you enjoy being with Pit for a long time." She sat down.
Everyone looked over at Dark Pit. He remained silent and looked away from everyone.
"I guess I'll speak next," Palutena said. She stood up. "Pit, Rosalina, you are two of the most amazing people I've ever had the fortune of meeting. I know I'm the mighty Goddess of Light, but I've found myself amazed at how you two have shown such love and compassion that I didn't even know was possible. I know deep down in my heart, you two were made for each other and you belong together. And I know if I ever need someone to take over Skyworld when I retire, you two will be my first and only candidates." She sat down as the others applauded.
As Palutena sat down, Dark Pit stood up. "Wait. I want to say something." Everyone looked at him. "Pit, I know you and I aren't exactly the best of friends. In fact, I don't know if we even are friends. But I do know that we're two sides of the same coin. And if you're happy being with Rosalina, then I'm happy with you being with her. Especially if you're gonna be in outer space a lot more." He sat down and everyone applauded.
"Thank you, Pittoo," Pit replied, "I think…"
With the toasts done, Pit and Rosalina made their way onto the dance floor.
Palutena went to the sound mixer. "The couple has chosen this song for their first dance as newlyweds." Palutena started playing the song. A bit of piano started playing. Pit and Rosalina took each other's hands and started slow dancing together. The spotlight was shining down on them.
"You know our love was meant to be…" Peter Cetera sang, "The kind of love to last forever…And I want you here with me…from tonight until the end of time…"
The two moved their feet in time with the rhythm. Though this song would hardly be considered a slow dance song, the tempo was one the newlyweds found themselves moving to with relative ease. Rosalina led, which they both knew they were fine with. Rosalina was more the slow-dancing type.
"You're the meaning in my life…You're the inspiration! You give feeling to my life…You're the inspiration! When you love somebody to the end of time…"
Rosalina looked into Pit's big blue eyes. Pit looked into Rosalina's big blue eye. They leaned in to kiss each other.
