Fullmetal Saiyan
~Eastern Command~
It was the middle of the night in streets of Central Command, as a man dressed as a State Alchemist with a Waluigi mustache, and a scar over the bridge of his nose, was walking down a dark alley, out for a midnight stroll to clear his thoughts, before a he stopped as a lone figure stood in front of him.
"You are Basque Grand, the Iron Blood Alchemist, correct?" The man questioned.
"Why, who's asking?" Basque inquired.
"Foolish Alchemists who have turned their backs on the ways of God, shall all be punished." The man said, raising his hand.
"I see. You must be the blood thirsty murderer who's been making it a habit of targeting State Alchemists lately." Basque said equipping his gauntlets. "Well this time, you picked the wrong target." He declared punching his fists together, causing an electric transmutation reaction as he slammed one of his hands on the ground, creating a barrage of cannons, that were used to attack the Alchemist Killer, but the man just dodged them. "You're fast… try this." He said creating chains that went to ensnare the man, but were unable to as he expertly dodged and deflected them. "A little more…" Basque cried out, creating a steel box that surrounded the man. "That wasn't so difficult." Basque said, hopping down from the cannons and removing his gauntlets, and walked up to the box, stopping just before alchemic light zapped about the surface in front of him, and it was destroyed, giving the Serial Killer a chance to grab his face. "What, no how?"
"Now you perish." The man exclaimed, before he used the destructive force of alchemy to kill Basque and turn his brain to mush.
~Afterwards~
"Another State Alchemist Dead." Hughes sighed, investigating the scene of the crime, with Major Armstrong and several other officers.
"This killer is highly skilled." Alex said.
"Major, you watch yourself, for all we know you could be the next one, he comes after." Hughes exclaimed.
"Understood." Alex said, before a light came into view as a car drove up. The door to the car opened and out came Fuhrer King Bradly, as he came to investigate the scene of the crime.
"Fuhrer Bradly your excellency, what brings you here?" Hughes asked as all the officers there saluted him as he came forward.
"I got word of what happened." Bradly said.
"Lieutenant Colonel Hughes. You're the officer in charge of this case?" Bradly questioned.
"Yes, sir." Hughes said.
"Should you need any additional personnel, just ask." Bradly said. "The man doing this is a traitor. I want him stopped."
"Sir." Hughes said.
~Eastern Command Following Morning~
"Lieutenant Breda." Riza Hawkeye said, handing the Lieutenant across from her a hand full of paperwork.
"Right." Breda said, taking the papers. "Jeez, the Colonel's sure letting his work pile up again huh?" He sighed sitting down. "Havoc, give me a hand will ya?"
"I've got plenty to do over here already." Havoc said. "Next up, who's this?"
"Lieutenant Yoki. Remember? The crook who was using the Youswell coal mine concessions to line his own pockets. Anyway the Elric brothers exposed what that dirty thief was up to, and now he's on the run." Falman said.
"Master Sergeant Fury, how's the radio?" Riza questioned.
"The receiver on this thing has seen better days. I think I'm gonna have to replace it." Fury said, before an echoing clap and a flash of light filled the room, resulting in the radio being better than ever. He was amazed and looked over to see the Elric Brothers and Kaen standing beside the grouped desks. "Hey, it's Edward, Alphonse, and the Saiyan Alchemist." Fury said, getting up and saluting them.
"We were just talking about one of the jobs you did a year back." Falman said coming up to Kaen. "An' congrats to you young man, for becoming a State Alchemist after such a showing in protecting the country."
"Thanks." Kaen said, shaking his hand.
"What's with the dead fish you're giving me?" Falman asked.
"Psst, Falman." Ed whispered. "He had to take care of something yesterday, involving putting someone who was suffering, out of their misery upon their own request. An' he's a little bummed about it."
"Not used to taking a life huh? I wish I could say it gets easier, but I'd be lying." Falman said. "Hang in there. A strong guy like you should be able to get through this."
"Welcome back you three, go on in the Colonel's expecting you." Riza said, causing Ed's smile to fall.
In Mustang's office, Ed, Al, and Kaen were sitting on the couches, ready for some information the Colonel might have for them.
"Well done on the Liore case you three, nice work." Mustang said. "I appreciate you resolving the matter."
"No big deal, it's not like we did it for you." Ed sighed. "But what was all this about postponing the debriefing from yesterday to today?"
"I had to take care of some business that couldn't wait. But I take it, the reason you went to Liore was because of…" Mustang paused when seeing Kaen looking down. "Is it okay to mention this in front of the greenhorn?"
"No need to worry. Kaen knows our secret, and has kept it." Ed stated.
"He's able to sense the life force of any living creature in a certain radius of him. An' I do kinda make a hollowed clanging sound whenever I walk." Al added.
"Plus, he's got his own reasons for searching for the stone." Ed sighed. "Namely his daughter's body. She lost all four of her limbs, and he wants to use the stone to restore them."
"How'd she lose them?" Riza asked.
"You wouldn't believe us if we told you." Kaen said.
"Right, well as I was saying, your reasons for going to Liore were to find the Philosopher's Stone. Another false lead?" Mustang asked.
"Not quite." Kaen stated. "Cornello did have a stone, and he was using it to make false miracles happen and gain a loyal following, but it turns out the stone was nothing but a fake, with a limited power source. Still it was enough to fool the people, and in a few years, he would have amassed an army capable of overthrowing Central."
"How so if you don't mind me asking?" Mustang inquired.
"It had plenty of power to it, despite how finite it was." Ed stated.
"That is interesting." Mustang said. "An' astonishing at the same time."
"Even though the stone was a fake, its power was real enough. It gave Cornello such immense power, he transmuted this huge Chimera right in front of us." Kaen added.
"I still wonder how he was able to use the stone to do that." Al continued. "I'm not familiar enough with the field of Bio-Alchemy to really understand it."
"Yeah, I'm kinda curious about the field of Bio-Alchemy to. It might be worth looking into. Who knows, maybe we could find something that could help restore our bodies." Ed exclaimed. "Might even help with restoring Eri's body too."
"You think?" Kaen asked. "But where would we even start looking?"
"It might help if you consulted a specialist." Mustang said, reaching into his desk and handing a file to Riza so she could give it to them. "Before coming to Eastern Command, Basque Grand was his CO, then transferred to my command when he came to East City. His name is Shou Tucker."
'Another name I've heard before from my world. If I remember correctly, Tucker was an I-Island Bio-Engineer, who used his Alchemy based Quirk to create practical miracles within the science community, but was later branded a terrorist, when it was discovered he was using his power to experiment on humans, and the reports said his wife and daughter, were the first of his many victims.' Kaen thought. 'This probably isn't the same guy. So I don't think I have anything to worry about with this Tucker.'
"His handle is the Sewing Life Alchemist. He specializes in transmuting Chimeras. Heavy research stuff. I'll introduce you." Mustang said, getting Kaen's attention back to reality.
"You would do that for us?" Al questioned.
"Okay what's the catch, you want something don't you?" Ed questioned.
"Don't doubt my motives, I'm trying to repay you for your work on the Liore Case." Mustang said, defending himself. "Doing you a favor is better than being indebted to you."
"Even if you introduce us, it's still not a fair enough exchange." Kaen said. "So you still owe us one."
"Damn it." Mustang hissed.
~Car to Tucker's~
"Two years ago, tucker transmuted a Chimera that could understand human speech." Mustang said. "That earned him his certification as a State Alchemist."
"Understand human speech, you mean… Wait you mean it talks? A Chimera?" Ed questioned.
"Right. Supposedly, it only said one thing." Mustang said "I want to die. After it said those words, it didn't say anything else, and starved itself until it had died."
After they'd finished talking about the Chimera, the driver stopped in front of the Tucker residence. Mustang and the others got out, and went up to the door step to ring the bell.
"Man this house is huge." Ed said looking up, before he was covered in a shadow as a giant dog leapt and landed on top of him.
"You okay Ed?" Alphonse questioned while Kaen tried to stifle his laughter.
"Daddy." A little girl's voice came from the door as it opened. "There are people out here. Look."
"Nina, this is why I told you to keep the dog tied up." Tucker said, coming to the door.
After getting the dog off Ed, Mustang and the others followed Nina and Shou inside the house, where it didn't look all that clean.
"I'm sorry about the mess. Ever since my wife ran out, this place has been a wreck." Tucker said putting tea down in front of them. "I'm not much of a house keeper."
"It's fine. The life of a State Alchemist is a busy one." Kaen said.
"Now that we're all settled in, let me say that it's a pleasure to meet you both Edward, you to Kaen. I've already heard so many great things about the Saiyan Alchemist. As the Colonel told you, I'm the Sewing Life Alchemist, Shou Tucker." Tucker introduced himself.
"Ed and Kaen are interested in the field of Biological Alchemy." Mustang said. "They would like to have a look at your research if that's possible."
"Oh yes certainly, I don't mind." Tucker said. "However, if you want me to show you the tricks I've got up my sleeve, it's only fair you show me the tricks you've got up yours as well. It's the code we live by, equivalent exchange. Now, why are you interested in Bio-Alchemy?"
"Oh um Ed, well you see he's…"
"Colonel…"
Ed stopped Mustang from talking, figuring Tucker at least deserved to know the truth as to why he'd be needing to look into Bio-Alchemy.
~One Detailed Explanation Later~
"You transmuted your mother, as an eleven year old child?" Tucker questioned in shock seeing Ed's Automail arm. "I see, so that's what earned you the title Fullmetal Alchemist. You've had a rough time of it for someone so young. I can't say for sure if it's gonna be of any use to you or not, but why don't you go ahead and take a look at my laboratory?"
Inside Tucker's lab, there were all sorts of different Chimeras he created using alchemy. Some had multiple heads, and others were just plain creepy. There was even taxidermy stuffed and preserved organs from animals and humans in jars on the shelves. There were even preserved animal fetuses in jars.
"It's kind of embarrassing. I'm fairly widely regarded as an authority on Chimeras." Tucker said. "But the truth is, it actually hasn't been going that well lately. But if this doesn't strike your fancy, I'm sure my library will."
Taking the boys to the library, Tucker turned on the lights revealing the numerous amount of books there.
"Oh, amazing." Ed said in awe.
"This is my library, feel free to look around." Tucker said.
"Alright, let's get to it Al." Ed smiled enthusiastically. "I'll start with this shelf."
"I'll try starting over here." Al said.
"I'll get started on this end." Kaen said.
"I'm going to head back to work now. I'll send somebody by to get you this evening." Mustang said. Only to get silence back from the boys as they were already nose deep in their research.
"They've got some ability to focus. I'm not sure they even know we're here anymore." Tucker chuckled pushing his glasses up. "Quite a catch these three, a number of prodigies."
~Sometime Later~
"No, doesn't look like anything like this might help Eri either." Kaen said, reading through another book. "The language in this world is close enough to English that I'm capable of reading and understanding it, but I don't think anything within these books will help me with getting Eri's body back to normal, nor getting the three of us home, if that's possible."
"Do you think you might find something in this book?" Al asked, holding another book to him.
"Maybe, let's give it a look." Kaen smiled, putting the first book back, and taking the book Al was handing him. His attention was drawn suddenly, when he sensed Nina's presence, and turned to see her spying on him, and Al. "Don't look now, but we got company."
Al turned to look at the entry to the bookshelves, and saw Nina there, startling her before she ran off. But she wasn't gone long as her head popped back out, showing that she was curious about them.
"Why don't you go entertain her for a while? I'll be good doing research on my own." Kaen smiled, seeing she was more interested in Al then him.
~Afterwards~
Alexander was laying atop of Edward again, with Nina laughing and hugging Alexander, while Kaen was still reading from Tucker's library.
"Hey Chief, your ride has arrived." Havoc said, coming in close behind Tucker. "What are you up to Ed?"
"Oh uh, let's just say I'm taking a break from a long day of research." Ed exclaimed, before he got back up as Alexander removed himself from Ed.
"After all that, you must be dog tired." Tucker said before stifling his laughter. "Why don't you come on back tomorrow and continue your work then?"
"You're really going to come again?" Nina asked Al.
"We'll play some more tomorrow, okay Nina?" Al asked.
"Kay."
As they left the house, Havoc turned back to speak with Tucker.
"Oh Mr. Tucker, before I forget. Colonel Mustang wanted me to tell you something when I came to pick up these three." Havoc said. "He says, don't forget, assessment day is coming soon."
"Yes, please assure him I know." Tucker said.
"Right." Havoc said, before walking off.
~The Following Day~
"So your mother left two years ago?" Al questioned Nina as she laid with Alexander, hugging him.
"Daddy said she went back to live at her parent's house." Nina said.
"Must get kinda lonely with just you and your dad living in this big house, huh?" Al asked.
"Not really. Daddy's so nice, and plus I've got Alexander to play with to." Nina said. "But lately Daddy's been studying in his lab all the time. I guess that does make me a little bit lonely."
"Well his Assessment Day is coming up, so I'm sure he's just wanting to make sure he has what he needs to keep you fed and in a home." Kaen said, before Ed closed his book loudly, getting up and giving off a yawn as he stretched.
"My shoulders are killing me." Ed stated rotating them.
"Maybe you should try to move around some brother." Al said.
"Yeah not a bad idea Al." Ed smiled, before pointing to the dog. "Hey, you mangy mutt. Looks like you could use some exercise."
"Let's go to Nina." Al smiled.
"I think I'll join in." Kaen said.
"Yay." Nina cheered with a bright smile.
So then, the rest of the day was spent playing in the yard, with Nina laughing, smiling, and just plain old having fun. Kaen even let Nina experience what it's like to fly.
But inside the house, in his lab, Shou Tucker was having a hard time, trying to figure out what he was gonna do, to pass his assessment. Hearing his daughter playing with the Elric Brothers and Kaen, he got an idea of what he could do for his assessment, as he looked at his pocket watch.
~Central Command~
"What I want to know, is why this guy is only targeting State Alchemists, and no one else." Hughes said, meeting with Alex in his office as he looked over Basque's file. "If it's the military he's trying to hurt, he could go after normal soldiers. Surely soldiers would be easier to kill, than highly skilled alchemists. Especially ones that have been state certified."
"Maybe the certification is the reason." Alex said. "State Alchemists are given high pay and special privilege. There must be any number of people who envy them for their positions. Or perhaps, they feel they have not upheld their creed, 'Alchemist, be thou for the people.' Alchemists who are supposed to be pillars of science and truth, are turned into the military's walking weapons as soon as they receive certification. There are plenty of people I'm sure, who've not forgotten the role that State Alchemists played in the Ishvalan Civil War."
Knock-knock…
"I have a report sir." A Lieutenant said coming into the office. "A canvas has revealed that yesterday, at around 9:30, or around that time, a man with a large scar on his face, was sighted in the Central City Train Station, by multiple station employees."
"The station? Looks like that bastard got away." Hughes said.
~Tucker Residence~
"Before I earned my State Alchemist Certification, our life was terrible. We were so poor in those days. My wife couldn't stand living that kind of life, so she left us." Tucker explained with Kaen, Ed, and Al sitting across from him, and Nina on the ground brushing Alexander's fur. "I can't afford to fail this assessment. I don't wanna go back to those days again, I don't even think I could."
"Don't worry Daddy, it's okay." Nina smiled. "If those people do tell you no, me an Alexander will growl at them until they say yes." She said proudly, getting a laugh from Kaen and Al.
"You tell 'em Nina." Al chuckled.
"Hey Nina. I've got an idea, do you wanna play with Daddy tomorrow?" Tucker asked.
"Really?" Nina asked, her eyes big and bright.
"Yeah." Tucker smiled, before Nina ran and jumped into his arms.
"Are you sure about that? What about your prep for your Assessment Day?" Kaen asked.
"It'll be fine. I should take a break every now and then to avoid burnout anyways." Tucker said.
"He's got a good point there Kaen." Ed stated.
"WooHoo." Nina cheered. "Alexander, Daddy says he's gonna play with us tomorrow." That got a bark of approval from Alexander, causing the trio sitting across from Tucker and his daughter to smile.
~The Following Morning~
"Hello, Mr. Tucker?" Kaen called out as they opened the door, after ringing the bell. "We came by."
"Thanks for having us again today." Al called out as they went through the house. "Mr. Tucker."
"Hey, Nina." Ed called out.
"Let's check his lab." Kaen said, leading them to the lab. "Mr. Tucker?" He asked, opening the door.
"There you are, so you are home." Ed stated as they spotted him crouching on the ground in his lab.
"Yes." Tucker said. "I did it boys, I finally did it."
'I'm getting a bad vibe from this. Oozaru is warning me to stay on my guard, and I'm not sensing Nina or Alexander anywhere, and that's twisting my stomach into knots.' Kaen thought. 'Yet I'm getting faint whiffs of their scents in here, but nothing more.'
"A Chimera that understands human speech." Tucker said, as they were looking at a creature on the ground that had long chestnut hair, and a white fur coat all over its body.
When Kaen saw the Chimera, his stomach dropped like a rock, and his heart began to pound in fear and repressed rage as thunder and lightning struck from outside in the stormy skies.
"Here let me show you." Tucker said. "Now listen to me, that person over there, that's Edward, and he's Kaen." He sounded out, pointing to the two.
"That person… Ed-ward. That person Ka-en." The Chimera responded.
"Yes that's very good well done." Tucker said, petting the Chimera on the head.
"That's amazing, it can actually…" Ed stopped, when he noticed Kaen's body shaking in anger
"Mr. Tucker." Kaen said, his eyes filled with held back rage. "When was it, you got your State Certification?"
"Let's see, that was two years ago." Shou Tucker said.
"An' when did your wife leave you?" Kaen asked.
"Kaen, what's this about?" Ed asked.
"Big brother Ed." The Chimera said, drawing the alchemists attention to it, before realization struck him.
"Answer the question Mr. Tucker." Ed stated.
"That was two years ago to." Tucker answered.
"Last question, if you don't mind Mr. Tucker." Kaen said, his body eerily calm at this point. "Nina and Alexander. Where the hell are they?" His question surprising Al, as he hadn't expected Kaen to ask such a question like that.
Tucker was silent for a moment before he turned to look at them, his eyes widened with shock and horror.
"Damn brats, figuring it out so quickly." Tucker said, right as Kaen was in his face, and with a palm to the chest, was sent through the wall and into the hallway in a daze, before the Saiyan grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against the window, raising him off the ground.
"Oh yeah, I figured it out. You did it again. First it was your wife, two years ago, that you transmuted into a Chimera, and now your own daughter and her dog to create a talking Chimera." Kaen exclaimed, his hair flashing gold and blue momentarily, before reaching into Tucker's pocket and pulling out his silver pocket watch. "You can only do so much with animals after all. It's much easier when you start off with a human being, isn't that right."
"No don't, that's mine." Tucker choked out, before freezing when Kaen looked right at him, and he saw Kaen's eyes were a golden amber color, with red shadow trim around them, and his canines, were longer and sharper, as seen among his gritted teeth.
"Not anymore it's not." Kaen growled, using Hakai to turn the pocket watch to dust. "I have a little girl of my own. An' the very thought, that you'd use your daughter for your twisted experiments, makes me sick to my stomach. Ed, Al, take Nina to another room, and call for Mustang. I'll make sure Tucker stays put."
"Right." Ed stated, as Al picked up Nina, and they left.
"I don't see what you're so upset about." Tucker said. "This is how we progress. Human experimentation is a necessary step in our evolution. I would think a scientist should understand."
"Shut up." Kaen growled. "Do you really think you can get away with this? Messing around with someone's life like that."
"As I said, human experimentation is required in the advancements of human evolution." Tucker stated. "But why are you getting so mad at me? Shouldn't you be giving this speech to the Elrics? They messed with a human life too, so I'm not the only one to blame. They're just as guilt as I am for using humans in their experiments."
"You shut your damn mouth Tucker." Kaen growled. "I know what they did, and I don't blame them for any of it."
"But why would you not hold them accountable, when you're berating me for what I've done to my own…"
Tucker was silenced when Kaen let go of his throat, and hit him with a spinning back kick that sent him flying down the hall, and into one of the walls.
"The reason is. You're a grown ass man, who knows the differences between right and wrong, while those two, were only sad scared children, who just wanted to see their mothers smile again." Kaen stated, stomping on Tucker's arm, causing him to cry out as it was broken. "I don't blame them, because their intentions weren't to cause harm, while yours were to use your own daughter for your own selfish gains and keep making money as a State Alchemist."
"Why you…" Tucker growled.
"What exactly was your plan here Tucker?" Kaen questioned. "After your assessment day, were you gonna report your daughter had gone missing? Maybe blame your 'ex-wife' for kidnapping her, before they dropped off the grid?"
"You think you're so smart, don't you? Figuring out my plan for my excuse as to why Nina was gone, but you forget. I'm still your superior, and I made it in time for my Assessment Day." Tucker smirked. "I'm still a State Alchemist."
"Like hell you are." Kaen growled.
Clapping his hands together, Kaen transmuted the wall, and Tucker's eyes widened in pain, when he felt the numbing sting of blades cutting through his arms. Looking to both his arms, he was shocked in horror, as a guillotine blade had cut off each of his arms at the mid upper arms.
"You'll never perform alchemy again." He stated.
~Afterwards~
"If ever there was an example, of the devils work in this world, this case would definitely be it." Riza said.
"A devil huh?" Mustang asked as they walked out of Eastern Command. "The State Alchemist must be willing to act, able to take anothers life, when ordered to without questioning. In some ways, Mr. Tuckers actions and our own, may not be that far apart, when it comes to interfering with other peoples lives. We choose our own path, knowing full well, what we're doing. That's the way it is, right Fullmetal, Saiyan?" He asked, stopping mid way down the steps, to speak with Ed, Kaen, and Al as the three of them were sitting on the steps.
"Don't give me that." Kaen growled. "What Tucker did, was plain and blatant human experimentation."
"You will more then likely come across cases like this, again in the future." Mustang said. "An' you may end up having to get your own hands dirty as well. You gonna shut down like this every time?" He asked, as he continued to walk down the stairs, making his way home for the day.
"We may be called dogs of the military, we may even be cursed as Devils… it doesn't matter. Al and I are still gonna get our bodies back." Ed stated.
"An' I'm still gonna restore Eri's body." Kaen said.
"We know the truth. We know we're not Devils. We know we're not Gods. We're human." Ed stated, getting to his feet. "We're only human. We can't even do anything to save one innocent little girl. So what good are we then?"
~Tucker Residence~
All was quiet within the Tucker house. Shou Tucker could only hear the sound of the rain falling outside, and the breathing of his Chimera daughter as she sat across from him. His arms were still in pain, where they'd been severed, but the bleeding had stopped, and he was still mulling things over.
"I wonder why no one's capable of understanding me." Tucker said, still thinking he was in the right, in this whole situation. "Nina."
There was nothing but more silence filling the room, before the echoing of footsteps alerted him to someone else being there, and turned to see who it was, just as the thunder cracked and the lightning illuminated the sky.
"You're Shou Tucker, correct?" The man asked.
"Who are you? Not military." Tucker said before getting to his feet as the man stepped closer to him. "Who are you? How did you get in here, there were military police out front."
"Foolish Alchemists, who turn their backs on the ways of God…" He paused as he pulled his arm back, and gripped Tucker's face. "…shall be punished." He stated, before using his power to destroy Tuckers brain and other organs.
Nina just looked at Tucker as he fell to the ground, before she came over and nudged his shoulder with her nose.
"Daddy's hurting." Nina said, before memories of her transmutation resurfaced to the forefront of her mind. "Daddy hurts… No, Daddy."
"You poor creature." The man said. "Once you've been given this form, there's no way of separating you again." He stated, stepping up to Nina and putting his hand on her head. "At least, your passing will be in peace."
~Afterwards~
"God." The man began as he stepped out of the Tucker residence, and into the pouring rain, the bodies of Nina and Shou Tucker, laying in a pool of their own blood as their killer departed. "Hear me… Two human souls have just been returned to you. Please accept them into your loving arms. Please grant these poor lost souls, everlasting peace and salvation." Removing his sunglasses, the man looked up into the sky as the rain continued to pour, revealing his red irises.
