The omega spent the next fifteen or twenty minutes continuing to work on the car while receiving 'help' from the little girl. Kurama found it interesting to watch the interaction between the two considering the fact that Yusuke had told them that she had a mean and violent streak in her.
Yet...her behavior towards the little one didn't seem the least bit forced to him. In fact, she seemed to be a natural at dealing with children.
The sounds of the little girl's laughter was contagious.
Sending all of them- even Hiei at least once- into fits of laughter as she asked the child to hand her a tool and got a sock. No one really knew who the sock belonged to. Only that it was one.
Something like this had happened repeatedly since the omega had asked the little one to help her. And despite that fact, the woman was very patient and kind in her dealings with the girl. She never chided her nor corrected her.
Though the child's grandfather tried to a few times before finally giving up to watch the show that the two put on for them as it unfolded.
And once it finally came to an end...Kurama felt just a tad bit disappointed. But only just a bit.
He had far more interesting things on his mind than simply knowing how well she interacted with children. Though that was definitely interesting to him too since he'd already told Hiei that he wanted offspring regardless of whether they mate or not. And Hiei had seemed to understand that wanting children was important to him.
Especially since Kurama knew for a fact that his lover wanted children as well.
Though he'd be happy with just one or two to satisfy him instead of the small army of kits that Kurama was likely to breed. But that was neither here nor there.
Right then he and Hiei needed to determine whether or not they would begin courting the omega.
And since his lover was such a sarcastic and surly demon- Kurama was going to let him get a bit unruly and see how the woman handled him. After all, if she could handle his temper then she could handle just about anything.
And if the fire demon was impressed by her once everything was over with; then they would start courting her immediately.
They stood quietly as they watched her get the vehicle down off of the ramps and back it outside into the open and then climb out of it to give the keys to the elder so that he and his grandchild could leave.
Up until then, both Kurama and Hiei had more or less ignored the omega's appearance since it honestly had very little bearing on whether or not they would even like her.
But right then, both demons could do nothing but admire her appearance since it would seem that Yusuke hadn't been wrong about it in the least.
She was an exotic beauty. One that was perhaps even more beautiful than any female that the two demons had ever laid eyes on before. And that was saying quite a bit since the two Alphas had been around for decades and had cozied up to a few beauties in their time.
At the moment, the woman was chatting with the elderly Beta in a friendly manner.
They weren't really paying all that much attention to what was being said between them until the elder tried to talk the omega into mating one of his children.
Apparently, he had several of them that were rather hopeless and needed the helping hand of their father to find a mate. The woman, of course, politely turned him down and then all but pushed him into his car while his granddaughter giggled madly and then waved them off.
Once she was sure that the car was leaving, she then turned and walked back into the garage. "Sorry for the wait, guys."
"That's quite alright," Kurama replied politely. "The wait was entertaining enough." He smiled at her as she walked over to him.
"I would imagine so," She said with a grin. "My ability to multi task is always entertaining to others."
Kurama chuckled while Yusuke decided to clear his throat and get her attention. "Hey, you're the guy from Yukimura."
"That's right." The hayou said as he pushed himself away from the wall that he'd made himself comfortable leaning against, "I'm a little bit surprised that you actually remember my face."
"Well, your face is a bit hard not to remember. I did cause some property damage to your place, after all." She said carefully. Yusuke merely nodded his head and replied.
"Yeah, you did."
"Was the money that I gave to you not enough to fix the damages?" She asked worriedly.
"Actually, it is. And then some. I feel a bit bad about keeping what I don't need though."
The omega waved a hand at him and quickly said. "You mentioned being married last night. So, use what's left over to get yourself out of trouble with your lady."
Yusuke looked slightly startled for a moment as he asked, "How'd you know that I get into trouble with my wife?"
The woman cast a calculating look his way and then replied in a deadpan tone, "Educated guess." Yusuke looked as if he'd just been smacked upside the back of the head. Which was amusing. But Kurama wanted the woman's attention back on him for a moment.
Thankfully, she seemed to have finished poking fun at Yusuke and returned her attention to him as she asked. "So, what can I do for you guys?"
"Well..." The fox began as he reached out and placed his hands on the omega's shoulders and steered her around so that she could see the damage to his car better. Absently noting that she didn't seem the least bit bothered by the innocent contact as he went on to explain. "My car seems to have had an unfortunate accident of some kind."
Of course, the phrase 'unfortunate accident' was putting it mildly.
Hiei had truly done a number on his vehicle. Not only breaking one of the doors, but breaking off a mirror, and busting taillight out. But he'd also left a sizable dent in the side of the car from his foot.
There was a literal footprint imprint on his car!
And Hiei, damn him- wasn't the least bit sorry for having done such a thing to his poor innocent vehicle. The jerk.
He waited for a moment or two for her to completely take stock of the damage that Hiei had done before finally asking her. "Do you think that you can fix it?"
She meandered over to the vehicle and took a closer look at the huge dent in the side, the broken door, missing side mirror, and the busted backlight before finally saying, "Wow, that is unfortunate..." Making Kurama seethe a little bit where he stood as she carefully tacked on, "But it should be easy enough to fix."
"Ah, that's wonderful news." Kurama said. Acting as if she were going to perform a miracle of some kind before finally asking, "How long do you think it will take you to fix?"
"I can do it within an hour, I think. If it looks like it'll take longer then I'll have to let you borrow one of the cars in the back to use until it's ready." She said warily. As if she were trying to gauge whether or not he'd react poorly to the information.
"I can wait." Kurama said quickly. His tone and expression still pleased.
She merely nodded her head at him and then asked for the keys and started to get to work.
While she was busy getting the car into the garage and grabbing everything needed to fix it, Kurama wandered over to Hiei and asked him softly, "Do you have a plan of some kind?" Wondering just what he should expect from his lover when it came to testing the omega to see how she would handle his mean temperament.
"No. I thought that I'd simply be myself." Hiei finally said after a moment or so of careful deliberation.
Kurama sighed. "Very well, I'll figure out a way for you to get close to her so that we can see how well she tolerates you." Hiei hummed and let his mind wander a bit as Kurama called out to the omega.
"Excuse me, miss!" The woman paused for a second and looked over at him to see what he wanted as the red head quickly moved to shove Hiei towards her. And almost sent the dark-haired Alpha stumbling into her. "Here, you can use him as your new lovely assistant since you're down the original one."
She blinked and looked at him for a second and frowned as Kurama went on to explain to her that the man could do the heavy lifting and hand her tools and such while Hiei mentally cursed at the fox for shoving him around in front of her.
After all, she might get the wrong impression of him.
The woman's frown stayed in place for a heartbeat or two longer before she finally seemed to accept that she was more or less stuck with Hiei, much to Kurama's immense relief since her reluctance had made him start to worry about just how rusty his negotiation skills might have become in recent months.
But in the end his work had paid off. Now all he and Yusuke had to do was sit back and wait for the inevitable train wreck.
