Two Faunus bandits walked side by side as they walked across their camp. They snickered through their red bandanas that they wore over their mouths. One of them had a skunk tail and the other had black and gray stripes in his hair like a raccoon. They stopped when they approached a cage hanging by a pole overhead. Inside was a girl who looked down at them.

This girl wore a black hood, gray outfit, black armor, and black gauntlets that matched her boots. Her hood was lined in red along its rims that concealed her short, black hair. She wore a red sash across her waist with a triangular symbol on it. She looked down at her captors with a deadly stare from her hazel eyes.

The skunk bandit gave a little laugh. "Look at this, Kuno. This is the legendary June Shado?"

"It is laughable, isn't it, Odie?" the raccoon Faunus agreed. "All the hype around her, and we managed to catch her."

Shado knew who these two were. They were members of the Lost Fang, a group of Faunus who were once part of the White Fang. Back when Ghira Belladonna was the leader, these Faunus were excommunicated for being too extreme. But when Sienna Khan took command, they were welcome back by Adam Taurus. But the official members of the White Fang weren't Shado's focus right now. She just wanted the Lost Fang.

"Enjoy this victory, boys." Shado said. "You and your boss are the only ones left on my personal list."

"Big talk coming from an unarmed Hidden One." Kuno said. "Yeah, we know what you are. We also know all about that silly little blade you kept on you. That's why we removed it and locked it in a special chest just over…"

"You two! Enough!"

The Faunus gasped and turned to their leader, a large, muscular woman with bear fur and armor. She carried a metal club over her shoulders. Odie and Kuno gulped as they approached leaving Shado behind.

"Lady Ursula?" Odie asked nervously.

"Don't provoke the prisoner." The leader said. "Not until after I finish interrogating her."

"Why? She's defenseless." Odie asked.

"Yeah." Kuno agreed. "She's no danger to us."

"No danger?" Ursula asked. "Do you know anything about June Shado?"

"I know that she's been attacking several other Lost Fang camps these past few months." Kuno said.

"But do you know why?" Ursula asked. "If you believe the stories, Shado came from a village of hunters, but they didn't hunt Grimm like anyone else. They hunted a much more cunning type… Faunus."

Both Odie and Kuno gulped.

"One day, her village got word of a White Fang rally and decided to go for a hunt. Because she was too young, June Shado had to stay behind. Sadly, they never returned. Shado went on a hunt to avenge her family and attacked a fox boy. Instead of killing him however, she realized she didn't have the stomach to take a life. After the fox boy got her to see that not all Faunus were at fault, the two of them fell in love."

"Real cute." Odie said. "But what does that have to do with us?"

"Well, a human and a Faunus falling in love. That's unnatural, even to the Lost Fang. So they did the only sensible thing. They found the two lovebirds, ambushed them, and beat them. Shado managed to survive, but her boyfriend… Well, you get the idea."

The fear in the two Faunus' eyes kept intensifying. Ursula relished in their fear and continued.

"Through sheer will and anger, Shado survived just long enough to make it to Haven Academy, where Professor Lionheart found her and healed her. It didn't take long for her to join the Hidden Ones and use their teachings to hunt us down one by one. And now, we're the last three."

"Okay, we see your point." Kuno said. "But if she's that dangerous, then why are we keeping her alive? Shouldn't we kill her now?"

"Because Adam Taurus has allies who are interested in the Hidden Ones." Ursula said. "He tasked us with finding out what this girl knows, one way or another." She rested her club in her hand to emphasize your point. "Now are you ladies going to gossip all night, or are we going to beat that girl?"

"Understood, ma'am." Both Faunus said.

The three of them turned back to the cage only to find a startling sight. The cage that was hung was open and empty. June Shado wasn't trapped anymore. Ursula then turned her attention to a large wooden chest and widened her eyes after seeing it open wide.

"She's out!" Ursula shouted. "And she's armed! Watch your backs!"

The three Faunus stood back to back looking at all possible directions, all that lead to shadowy darkness. The boys struggled to breathe, but Ursa kept her head leveled knowing that if she didn't, she'd give her enemy the opportunity to get the best of her.

Suddenly, something flew from a tree. Odie and Kuno quickly aimed their pistols at it, but as soon as it landed on the ground right beside them, it ignited letting out an explosion of white, blinding smoke that quickly engulfed the Lost Fang. They closed their eyes and coughed trying to run from the smoke.

Odie was the first to escape, so he was the first to go. Shado was perched in a tree branch above him, and when he emerged, she dropped from above and sank her hidden blade into his throat. He died instantly.

Shado turned back to the other Faunus just as the smoke died out. The two of them regained their vision just to see Shado standing over their fallen brother. Kuno gasped at the sight of Odie's bloodied corpse.

"YOU FILTHY HUMAN!" Kuno cried out as he raised a pistol. At the same time, Shado reached to a sheathe on her back and pulled out a jian sword.

When Kuno fired his rounds, Shado blocked each bullet with her sword. As soon as the bullets ran out and Kuno tried to change his rounds, Shado ran at great speed toward him. He didn't comprehend what had happened until he already felt the sword in his chest. Shado pulled the sword out and wiped its blood while Kuno fell to the grass.

After cleaning her blade, Shado turned to her final target, the bear Faunus and sole member of the Lost Fang. The two of them locked eyes more than ready to kill each other.

Quick as a flash, Shado made the first move and dashed herself forward, but this time, she didn't hit her mark. She was caught off-guard by Ursula who grabbed her by her wrist before she could lunge her sword in. Ursula tightened her grip forcing Shado to drop her jian. Ursula then raised her club and swung it down bringing Shado down to the dirt with her aura flickering. Ursula still held onto her wrist, so she spun and threw Shado across the field.

Shado struggled to get back up, but was surprised when Ursula ran at her with her club again. Shado raised her arms to block it, but it didn't stop her from being knocked to the side. Not only that, but her hidden blade bracer shattered upon impact. And to make matters worse, her aura shattered too.

Ursula grabbed Shado by her throat and held her up of her feet. "Well, I gotta hand it to you, you surprised me more than I thought. You came really close too. But I'll get more Faunus on my team. I'll be back, but you won't. Any last words?"

"Gu… I'll… kill you." Shado groaned.

Ursula snickered. "You and what blade?"

"This one." Shado said before shooting a kick right to Ursula's stomach.

Much to the bear woman's surprise, as soon as the kick connected, her aura broke instantly. She then started to cough out blood and released Shado who stepped back to gain some distance. Ursula gasped seeing what it was that broke her aura: another hidden blade, one that came from under Shado's shoe.

All of a sudden, Shado's semblance was activated. She disappeared from sight and just as quickly reappeared right in front of Ursula. She swung her foot at her slashing her throat with her boot's hidden blade. Ursa held onto her throat struggling to breathe, but she couldn't fight it. In only a minute, she collapsed to the ground dead as her brothers.

With all her enemies dead, Shado was finally able to breathe. She was free to rest, but something stopped her from doing so. Something inside her felt uneasy. She couldn't rest just yet, not until she went to talk to Professor Lionheart.

June Shado returned to Haven with news that her mission is complete. She sat in Professor Leonardo Lionheart's office giving him her full report.

"The mission is done sir. The Lost Fang is no more." Shado said sullenly.

"That's excellent news." Lionheart said. He then took notice of the assassin's expression. "Shouldn't you be celebrating? I thought you'd be happier now that they're gone."

"I should be," Shado said, "But… I don't know. Something doesn't seem right. It's like I'm still incomplete."

Professor Lionheart nodded his head. "Not surprising. Revenge is natural to be desired, but once it is achieved, there's still so much left."

"How do I fill that void?" Shado asked.

Lionheart stood from his chair and walked to his window. He was lost in thought as he stared at the sun rising.

"I've decided to transfer you." Lionheart said much to Shado's surprise.

"What? Why?"

"What you need is a path to being peaceful, and unfortunately, I'm not the man to help with that. So I'm sending you to the Vale branch to learn under Professor Ozpin."

"But… What about you? You were the one who brought me into the life of the Hidden Ones, the one who gave me purpose."

Unbeknownst to her, Lionheart looked down with eyes full of shame. He lifted his head and turned to Shado. "I've done all I can for you. Go on. I'll send word to Ozpin that you'll be reporting to him."

Though she still had many questions on her mind, June Shado knew her mentor wasn't going to change his mind. She stood from her chair and bowed to him. "Thank you, Professor Lionheart." She turned to leave the office.

As soon as Shado closed the doors behind her, Lionheart frowned. He sat back in his chair slouching and pressing his fingers on his head.

"Oh, Shado… I'm really, really sorry."
