Hi lovely readers!

Thank you so much for all of the lovely reviews on the last chapter. I was super happy you all loved it!

Lots of you said in your reviews that you love prompts that are set in Texas, as it happens this is another prompt based around that. This is a somewhat continuation of the last prompt however, set three years after. This is also full of babies and baby talk so if that's not your thing then this probably isn't for you.

Thank you so much to ThatAwkwardPotato for requesting. I really hope you enjoy!

Enjoy reading!

"I really don't see the point in any of this" Sheldon sulked as he slumped around the bedroom. He had been like this ever since the invitation to go to Texas had been made, he had no idea why or how Amy had talked him in to agreeing to it. "There was no point us even unpacking our suitcases" he moaned.

"Will you stop" Amy scolded him as if he were a child, "it's nice, she's just really excited for us" she reasoned. Although, she knew when he was in this mood, reasoning with Sheldon was near on impossible.

"She was at our wedding five weeks ago, everyone was at our wedding five weeks ago" he threw his arms up in the air.

It was fair to say the past five weeks had been a complete and utter whirlwind. Just five weeks ago Sheldon and Amy had married at The Anthenaeum in front of their family and friends. For Amy, it had been the kind of day that only dreams are made of and there were many occasions throughout the day where she had to pinch herself because she couldn't quite believe that this was happening to her . She knew it sounded cliche but her wedding day really was the most perfect day, it was everything she could have ever imagined and so much more. It still made her heart skip a beat when she realised she was now someone's wife and her breath caught in her throat every time her eyes landed on the gold wedding band on her third finger. She wasn't sure she'd ever get used to it. The day she married Sheldon was without a shadow of a doubt the very best day of her life.

"I know" Amy was gentle this time, she knew he was only panicking because he was being thrust into a social situation he wasn't keen on. She knew deep down none of this was directed towards his mother really. "Look she just wants to show us off and celebrate" she began folding their clothes and neatly placing them in the suitcase "She's proud of you. She's proud of us."

Sheldon and Amy had returned from their honeymoon just over a week ago. They had spent ten days in the beautiful Italian sunshine, soaking up the sun, getting a dose of culture and just relaxing into married life, it had been bliss and another moment in Amy's life that she never wanted to end. As soon as their plane touched down on American soil, Mary called, inviting them to Texas to celebrate their marriage. She wanted to host and throw her very own party for her son and his new wife. Amy had been on board with the idea from the get go but Sheldon had taken a little more convincing, probably because he knew exactly what his mother was like and half of Texas would be invited.

"Beside we get to meet the twins" she smiled to herself as she thought about her latest niece and nephew. Whilst on their honeymoon in Italy, Missy had given birth to twins, a little earlier than expected but everyone was healthy and now finally home. Missy already had her two and half year old son, Noah, she announced her pregnancy with him just a month after Amy had visited Texas for the very first time.

It had been such a lovely experience to witness Sheldon becoming an uncle. In the beginning he had been very nonchalant about it all but Amy knew as soon as he set eyes on his nephew for the very first time he had fallen in love. Having a child in their family had completely changed the dynamics. Whenever they visited Texas and did something together as a family, it was now all about Noah. The child like fun was heart warming and everything suddenly had this magical excitement to it, it was a feeling that made Amy's heart feel so full. In their own little way, they both absolutely adored Noah and Amy was beyond excited to now have two other little ones to totally fall in love with.

Sheldon was stumped, he couldn't argue with her on that one. What kind of person would he be if he protested meeting his newest niece and nephew. He was better than that now. He sighed realising, like always, his wife was right and winning.

"Now, make yourself useful and help me pack" Amy told him as she threw a shirt across the room towards him.

"Hello my darlings, come in, come in" Mary gushed as she excitedly flung open the door to welcome her son and brand new daughter in law. She couldn't have been prouder of Amy and thought herself very lucky to have her as part of her family. For many reasons she adored her but no more so than simply because she unconditionally loved her son, something which she knew at times wasn't the easiest of tasks. "Oh my goodness, look at you both, you look wonderful" she was dressed in a red and wiped checked apron and had a mixing bowl under one arm as she embraced them one by one into a one armed hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Ten days away in the sun must agree with you. You're both glowing" Amy watched as Mary took a step back and observed them both.

"Oh it was amazing" Amy beamed, "we have so much to talk about" it felt strange but in just those five weeks that past she had really missed Mary. In that time, Amy had realised just how much she meant to her and that despite only seeing each other a short time ago they had so much to catch up on. What with their honeymoon and Mary becoming a grandmother again, it seemed like they could talk forever.

"Hello mother" Sheldon smiled, finally being able to get a word in edgewise. "What are you cooking?" he asked as he hauled his and Amy's suitcase into the front porch.

"Oh just a cake for later" she stirred the mixture vigorously as both Amy and Sheldon followed her through to the kitchen. "Isn't it just the most perfect day for a traditional Texas barbecue. A real celebration for you both" it was clear Mary was on cloud nine. "Of course, I'm baking a ton of goodies."

As they stepped into the kitchen, they saw the surfaces ladened with a range of ingredients and flour and butter smudges left over from Mary's preparation. It really did look as if there had been some kind of explosion at a baking factory.

"Mary, this is so sweet, you really didn't have to go to all this trouble," although neither of them had asked for this, Amy felt guilty that Mary was going to all this trouble and pulling out all the stops just for their benefit.

"It's no bother at all" she placed the mixing bowl on the surface and wiped her hands on her apron. "It's not everyday your baby gets married is it?" Amy knew exactly where she was coming from, Mary was a homemaker through and through and loved nothing more than feeling wanted or needed, family was everything to her and even though now she had her grandchildren, her children would always be her babies. "Hey" Mary affectionately hit Sheldon's hand away from the mixing bowl as he dipped into finger in for a taste.

"That tastes really good" Sheldon mumbled.

"Well thank you. We really do appreciate it" Amy looked to Sheldon, her eyes staring into him, telling him to agree. She knew he had his reservations but even he had to admire the effort that had gone into all of this.

"We do" he nodded quickly, "who have you actually invited?" he was keen and somewhat eager to know the guest list, not sure aside from his sister and her brood, who else he would want to spend time with.

"Just some of the ladies from church" she was being coy, Sheldon could tell this. "Do you want some tea?" she asked already pulling the mugs from the cupboard.

"Tea would be lovely" Amy smiled as she sat down at the kitchen table.

"Do I even know these people?" Sheldon asked. Neither he or Amy were ones for big gatherings, he hated nothing more than being thrust into a social situation especially with people he didn't even know.

"Some of them yes" Mary poured the tea, she was brief and Sheldon figured he didn't know half the people she had invited. "Carla is coming, do you remember her? She used to babysit you and Missy when you were little. Oh my goodness Amy, I'm sure she'll have some stories" Sheldon just rolled his eyes as Mary dished the mugs round and joined them both at the kitchen table.

"Tell me about the twins" Amy asked wanting to change the subject, mainly for Sheldon's benefit, although she wasn't sure babies were the best option it was all her brain could supply her with.

"Oh they're gorgeous. Beautiful, beautiful little things" the smile on Mary's face was everything and Amy knew this party was now far from her mind. She held her mug tightly in her hands. "It was just the most amazing thing being there when they born. They're so tiny, even now they're just little dots. I can't wait for you to meet them. It takes me back seeing her with two little babies," she smiled fondly, glancing over at Sheldon.

"Oh I can't wait for a cuddle" Amy was so excited. She was so broody, she had been for a while and the thought of being around newborn babies was just heaven.

"Oh it will be your turn soon, mark my words. They'll be little Shelly and Amy's running round before we know it" it was said with such clarity and certainty that Amy almost believed it was true. Mary did have this strange sixth sense, did she know something Amy didn't?Sheldon coughed, awkwardly spluttering out his tea at his mother declaration.

"I'll um… I'll go and take our suitcases upstairs"

"Are you okay?" Amy asked. Sheldon had been a little quiet since they retreated upstairs to his childhood bedroom. After tea with Mary, Amy had soon followed Sheldon upstairs, they had taken a nap, not really being aware of how tired they were from their journey until they laid down on the bed.

"Mhmm" he nodded, as he stood in front of the mirror buttoning up his shirt. They were aware that guests were starting to arrive, Georgie was already here firing up the barbecue and they could hear the chatter from a few of Mary's friends coming from the garden.

Amy was hoping that the very brief discussion at the dinner table about babies hadn't terrified him too much, she knew what he was like. It really was just a fly away comment from his mother, she wasn't suddenly going to push the matter. Whenever the time came, she wanted this to be something they both wanted, equally and together.

"Are you sure?" she stood behind him, placing her hands on his shoulder. He felt tense.

"I'm sure" he nodded with a smile as he spun round to face her. "You look wonderful by the way." His compliment took her by surprise, all she had really done was thrown on a dress and reapplied her lipstick, she hadn't exactly put in a lot of effort but she appreciated his words all the same.

"Thank you" she smiled. Even though, they had been together for years and were now married, he still made her feel nervous, he still gave her that fluttering butterfly feeling in her stomach. He still made her feel like she was laying eyes on him for the very first time, she discovered new things about him every time she did. She never wanted that to stop.

"We should probably head down. This is all for us anyway" he shrugged his shoulders and smiled but it didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Hey" Amy reached for his hand, pulling him back to her. "This is all going to be okay you know. You don't need to worry" her thumb was tracing circles on the hand that was currently holding his, she knew this sometimes calmed him down. In that moment, Amy didn't really know what exactly she was reassuring him about. About the evening ahead, about all the people that would want to congratulate them and ask question, about them, about their future, she didn't know but what she did know was that he needed to hear everything was going to be okay no matter what the capacity. "I love you" she reached up onto her tiptoes and pecked his lips.

"Love you too"

Neither Amy or Sheldon could recall a time where so many people were so desperate to talk to them. People Amy had never met before and at times people she wondered if Sheldon even knew. Everyone wanted to see the ring and hear details about their big day, their honeymoon and ask when they would be having a baby. Although she knew it was only with good intentions, the latter question annoyed her. Although she knew that it was the next natural step, it was really nobody business however, she had a standard polite response that she used on everyone.

"Missy's here" Mary called through to everyone in the garden. Amy hoped that Missy and her baby twins arrival would distract the attention from herself and Sheldon for a little while at least.

"Uncle Shelly" before they had time to politely excuse themselves from the people they were talking to, they were saved by little Noah running across the garden and throwing himself at Sheldon. He wrapped himself around his uncles legs, his chubby little arms squeezing Sheldon tightly, Amy was sure she'd never seen Sheldon look so happy to see him.

"Hi Noah " Sheldon bent down to pick him up, holding him on his hip as Noah nuzzled closer to him.

"Oh, I think he's missed you" Amy cooed as she reached out and rubbed Noah's back. Sheldon would at times struggle with admitting this but he adored Noah, he was never really a huge fan of children but his little nephew was pretty special. It helped greatly that whenever she got the chance, Missy repeatedly told Sheldon how much Noah reminded her of him. He kind of saw him as his own little project, he wanted to mould Noah to be just like him. He was already showing signs that he was potentially very intelligent.

"I have babies auntie Amy" he looked up and flashed a smile at Amy.

"Mummy's had babies hasn't she?" he nodded her head. "Do you like being a big brother?" she asked, he nodded again, only this time pulled a face.

"They make loud noises"

Amy laughed at how utterly adorable he was. "They cry a lot don't they?" Amy tried to sympathise with him. She imagined it must be tough to suddenly have to share your parents and get used to life with not just one little person now in it but two.

"Can I show you the babies?" Noah asked looking between both his auntie and uncle, he was clearly, despite his reservations to their loud noises, a very proud big brother.

"Of course you can" Amy smiled. She was aware of Sheldon's silence, he always got nervous around babies. He was like this when they first met Halley and Micheal and when they first met Noah he told Amy how he worried about doing things wrong, dropping them or hurting them or just anything that would make him look like a complete bumbling mess.

Sheldon placed Noah down on the ground and Amy's heart melted when he reached up and took hold of each of their hands. For a split second, Amy allowed her mind to wander, maybe one day, one day, this could be them with their own little one. It surprised her how happy that thought made her feel.

"Are they asleep?" Amy asked, realising that maybe Missy and Will wanted a little bit of peace and quiet before introducing the twins.

"Ella just woked up" just when Amy thought he couldn't get cuter, he got his words wrong. "Ethan is still sleeping. He sleeps a lot" it was adorable how much Noah had picked up on already, he had absorbed so much information from simply watching and listening to his parents. He was already beginning to sound like a third little parent.

"Hello" Missy beamed excitedly when she saw her brother and Amy enter the front room, she left where she was standing by the pram and tightly embraced them both. "Look at you both with your gorgeous tans. I can't wait to hear about this honeymoon" Amy loved how excited the family were for her and Sheldon, it was a genuine delight that really made her feel like she was a part of something. Even Mary's friends all seemed happy for them and Amy didn't have a clue who any of them were. "Come and say hello" Missy smiled gesturing with her hand over to where the two little babies were laying.

"Noah has just been telling us all about them" Amy slowly peered into the pram and her heart exploded with love for the two little babies. One of which was wide awake, her dark eyes scanning the room as her tiny hands balled into fists. Ethan looked like every beautiful sleeping baby, his eyes were closed, lashes fluttering as he slept and he had the cutest button nose. "Oh look at them" Amy turned to look back at Sheldon who was smiling at the sight before him. "Oh they're so tiny. They're gorgeous Missy, congratulations" Amy pulled Missy into a hug again and embraced Will.

"Ella was smaller by two pounds" Missy laughed, "not much between them at all."

"Mumma says Ella looks like me" Noah piped up from where he stood at Sheldon's side.

"She does look like you" Amy commented, "you both have the same shape mouth" Noah looked on confused but Amy was too in love with the little bundles to even notice.

"Do you fancy a cuddle?" Missy asked.

"Yeah sure, of course, if that's okay?"

"Of course it is" Missy was already scooping Ella out of the pram, there was an effortless and efficiency to it that Amy was sure came bestowed upon all brand new mothers. She hoped when the time came, she was this good. "Els likes to be cuddled, Ethan not so much, we'll have to see later, you're truly special if Ethan lets you hold him" she laughed, clearly showing signs already of having a mummy's boy.

Carefully, Amy took Ella in her arms and held her close to her body. She was sure that she was the tiniest baby she had ever held, even at two weeks old she rivalled the weight of a newborn baby. She was tiny, a real dainty little thing. Every feature, every movement was so delicate. Ella's eyes watched Amy, taking in a brand new, smiling face, she wondered how many faces the twins had had to get used to over the last few weeks.

"Hi" Amy whispered. "I'm your auntie Amy" she had adopted a natural rocking motion, it seemed to settle Ella even though she wasn't making too much of a fuss. Amy felt it was an achievement in itself that Ella had been past to her and the baby hadn't started crying instantly. "You're so gorgeous, you really are" Amy cooed.

Feeling completely lost in the moment, she hadn't realised that Sheldon had saddled up next to her, his hand gently placed on the back of Ella's head, stroking her hair. She had so much hair, dark brown tufts of it. He was silent but the gesture spoke volumes. He moved his finger, placing into Ella's hand and with amazement Amy watched as he curled her fingers around it, clinging onto her uncle.

Sheldon hadn't anticipated what seeing Amy holding a baby would do to him. After all, he had seen her with Noah and their friends children but this time it felt different, the feelings he felt were very different to the times before. When he looked at her, he could picture their future, for some reason now he was starting to see it so clearly, their future together, their own little family. He had tried to push it down but the more things in life that seemed to happen the more it began to push its way to the forefront of his mind.

The evening grew dark and once the summer sun had started to set, the evening felt mild. Amy retreated from the main garden to the decking outside of the house, overlooking everyone and everything. Due to feeling a little chill, she had pulled an oversized beige cardigan on over her dress, grabbing both ends she pulled the garment around her and took a seat on one of the wooden chairs next to MeeMaw.

"You get a good view of everything here" Amy commented as she sat down. It was just the two of them up here and something about it all felt so welcoming and cosy. They were close enough to join in with the fun and games but also farther away to just be. Amy liked it like that.

"Oh I know. It's a good spying spot isn't it" she laughed. Meemaw had the cutest laugh, it was one of Amy's favourites. "You know I watch Sheldon sometimes and it's just like watching his pop pop" Amy's eyes landed on her husband, if someone had told her that the man she met in that coffee shop all those years ago would now be playing trains with a nearly three year old and expertly holding a baby in his arms, well she would have laughed in their face, if they also proceeded to tell her that he would become her husband, well she was sure she would have died on the spot. Life was crazy.

"I would have loved to have met him" Amy smiled softly. She knew what a role model Sheldon's pop pop was to him, in many ways he was his father figure, the only positive male role model he had. "I know he meant a lot to Sheldon."

"Oh dear, he would have absolutely loved you" hearing Meemaw talk about her husband struck a chord with Amy, it was emotional. This woman, once upon a time, had a man in her life who she loved whole heartedly, she could only imagine just as much as she loved Sheldon, to then one day have that taken away from you, no matter what age, was just heartbreaking.

"Do you think so?" Amy felt her eyes stinging, it meant a lot to know that someone who was a huge part of Sheldon's life long before her would approve.

"Oh most definitely. Anyone who loves Shelly just as much as we all do is a very special person" Amy smiled at that, all of Sheldon's family made her feel so lovely and welcome just because she loved their Shelly. "I know what he's like you know, I know at times he isn't the easiest person to love, he's just like my husband was, but it takes a very special lady to get through to them. That's us darling, me and you" she reached out and gently placed a hand on Amy's knee, giving it a squeeze. Amy knew Sheldon's was difficult, quite possibly one of the most difficult people she had ever met but it wasn't difficult to love him, loving Sheldon was the easiest thing Amy had ever done. "Look at him with Noah, that little boy worships him. You know all week he's been asking when his uncle Shelly is coming over to play trains."

"I think Sheldon's secretly been looking forward to that too" Amy laughed. "And now there's two more. You're a great grandmother of three that's quite an achievement"

"Oh it's wonderful isn't it" she smiled such a beautiful smile. Her grandchildren, even if they were all grown up, and great grandchildren meant everything to her. "Hopefully they'll be a few more soon" she added, giving Amy a knowing look. What was it with this evening? All everyone wanted to talk about was babies? All she could think about was babies, what was happening to her?

"Oh I don't know about that. Not just yet anyway" Amy tried to dismiss the subject but she wasn't sure Meemaw would be as easy to shake off as the others. "I think it would be nice to be married for a little longer, it's only been five weeks" Amy knew she wanted a baby but she wasn't sure how long was appropriate to wait.

"I understand that darling. Enjoy each other. He's going to be a brilliant father though, I can just feel it"

"I think he will be too"

Amy wanted to continue talking to Meemaw, she really could have spoken to that woman all night, she really was one of her favourite people to talk to. It was obvious why all of the family and especially Sheldon adored her so much, she was wise and comforting and genuinely made you believe that everything was going to be okay. However, Mary had beckoned over Sheldon and Amy, ready to thank everyone for coming and to toast the happy couple.

"Tonight wasn't so bad, was it?" Amy asked as she crawled into bed next to Sheldon. Amy always found it amusing being in this room when they came back to Texas, it was still very much a little boys bedroom.

"It was okay, yes" something about the evening had made her want to be close to him, maybe it was all the baby talk or maybe it was because the whole evening had been about celebrating them that she oddly felt proud of what they had achieve together.

"Ella and Ethan are just gorgeous aren't they" Amy still couldn't get over how little they were. "I did offer up our services whilst we're here, I think she might be taking us up on it tomorrow" even though she knew she shouldn't be, a part of Amy felt guilty. If she and Sheldon lived here or if Missy and Will lived in Pasadena then they would forever be over at the others home, helping out and just being there because that's what families did. "I hope that's okay" Amy asked once he didn't reply.

"Yeah, yeah, of course" he nodded quickly. Something was on his mind, she could tell, he was distracted by something.

"What's going on?" Amy asked as she pulled away from him, his eyebrows were knitted together and his eyes were narrowed, this is what happened when he was thinking about something. She knew that tonight at times could have been overwhelming for him, all the people, the intrusive questions, she hoped no one had overstepped the mark or said anything out of line.

"I've just been thinking" Amy nodded for him to continue, "I think I'd like us to have a baby."

The room fell silent, everywhere felt silent. Of all of the things she thought were about to come out of his mouth 'let's have a baby' had been the very bottom of her list.

"What?" she asked in her state of shock.

"Well it's all anyone wanted to talk to us about so maybe we should just do it" he explained.

"That's not a reason to have a baby Sheldon" she laughed at how matter of fact he could be at times. "It has to be something you want? Is it something you want? Really want?"

Sheldon thought about this. He never imagined a future with children in it until he met Amy. He always thought he was rubbish with babies until he met Noah, Ella and Ethan. He never wanted this but the people he had met along the way had completely changed his perspective, his future was with Amy, their family, their own little babies that could play with his niece and nephews. His future was nights like tonight but a garden filled with children, his children and their cousins. It was the most unusual feeling but he wanted it more than ever.

"Yes. Yes, I really do" he sounded so sure that Amy didn't have the words to question him. "I thought you wanted this too" he was now worried he had misread the signals.

"I do. I really do. I just wasn't sure you did…and…okay…let's say we start trying and it happens quickly, it wouldn't bother you that we haven't been married long?"

"Why would that matter? We've been together for eight years Amy, nothings changed because we're married, not really" he had a point, nothing had changed really, a part from her last name and the rings on their fingers, their life just stayed the same.

"Okay" she nodded enthusiastically, a huge smile upon her face. She never in her wildest dreams thought the outcome of a family get together in Texas, that neither one of them was really up for, would end like this. "Lets do it. Let's have a baby."
