Chapter Seventeen: Just a servant and only a queen
10 years ago
"This is immoral to do!"
Queen Idun of Arendelle was in a heated argument with her husband in the council room. The council members weren't there, but they could speak in private for once.
Agdar sighed. "What do you wish for me to do?! I know that kingdom is in trouble, but I cannot do more! We'll have to wait for help from the other kingdom..."
"How long will we wait?!" Idun yelled. "Our people are going to die if this keeps going on!"
"I know!" Agdar yelled. "But what can we do..." He threw his arms up and turned his back on her. His arms then fell down at his sides and he let out another sigh. "I'm sorry, Idun...I'm so sorry..."
Idun walked up to him and hugged him from behind. ≠"My love, I know it's not your fault, I am sorry for blaming you...but...I am merely frustrated as you are..."
Agdar nodded. "Aren't we all..."
The door opened up and Daniel, Agdar's personal servant, stepped into the room.
"King Agdar. Queen Idun." Daniel made a short bow and then straightened his back again. "We have a small problem."
"Small problem?" Idun asked.
"Princess Elsa is missing."
Idun gasped. "You call that a small problem?!"
"Idun, calm down." Agdar said. "The child couldn't have gone far."
"What if she has gone outside?! What if she'll get attacked?!" Idun glared at the men. "I know that you two don't care about her, but I do! I'm going to look for her in the places that she probably would hide in!"
Agdar rolled his eyes as Idun stormed out of the room. He turned his attention back towards Daniel.
"Daniel. You have seen her, right?"
Daniel chuckled. "Perhaps. But I needed to talk with you in private..I think I found the spy in the castle."
"Who is it?"
"One of the kitchen staff...should I bring them to you?"
"Shortly. I should calm Idun down first."
"Understood, your majesty."
Adgar nodded. First Daniel left the room and Agdar did after a few minutes. He walked out into the hallways. Kai, one of the servants greeted him shortly, but he only gave him a short nod back. He had to find Idun and calm her down...
Agdar walked down the stairs towards the garden. Idun would often go to the garden when she was upset. She might be there...
He stepped into the garden. He didn't see Idun, however...
"What are you doing?"
His daughter, eight year old princess Elsa, was standing on a high ice block that she had created and trying to pull herself over the edge of the garden wall.
"Ah!"
Elsa jumped at his voice. She fell down to the ground. Agdar sighed and took a step closer to her. Elsa quickly jumped up and stroke her dress.
"Father, what are you doing here?!" Elsa asked with an innocent smile.
"I could ask the same thing to you. Where you trying to sneak out of the garden?!"
Elsa nodded silently and her smile faded away. "Yes...but I have finished my homework! And I wanted to see behind the walls...I know that it sounds crazy, but I heard music coming from the town and it sounded fun..."
"Do not lie to me, Elsa." Agdar said. "There is no market. Why did you really want to leave the castle?"
"Because...I wanted to see the outside world. I am going to be queen one day and I need to connect with the people, right? So, when..."
"WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO BE QUEEN THEN YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE RULES!"
Elsa jumped at his loud voice and an ice spike shot out of the ground.
Agdar glared at her. "Really, I am dissapointed in you, Elsa. You send the whole castle into a frenzy and for what? To see the town for a few minutes? Your poor mother has been worried sick."
"And you?" Elsa whispered. She looked directly at him with her cold blue stale eyes. "Do you...worry about me sometimes?"
"No. But I worry about the crown. If you're not following the rules and keep acting up...then there won't be a ruler after me. Idun doesn't want any more children. So get your act together, Elsa, or let our kingdom down."
Elsa's lip trembled a little bit at his harsh words, but she put her hands behind her back and nodded.
"Okay..." Elsa said. "I'll be better. I..." She lowered her head. "I am sorry, sir."
"Good girl." Agdar smiled slightly at her. "It might sound harsh, but if you want to become a queen then you'll need to obey certain rules...it's the only way."
Elsa tilted her head up towards him again with a worried face.
"The only way?"
"The only way."
Her heels clicked along the stone.
Elsa sighed as she stepped into the council room. Lately she had been busy with everything; meetings, talking to the public, signing letters, checking their stock...
She stopped in front of the door. She could already hear the council members talking. They were probably discussing how they were going to convince her to sign some new law...
Elsa gathered her courage and opened the door up.
She was surprised to see not only the council members, but also her husband.
"H-Hans!" Elsa said. She closed the door behind her and walked up to him. "What are you doing here? I thought that you were training with your brother."
Ever since the war Christian had decided to teach Hans as well, in the unlikely event that Elsa wouldn't be able to fight, then he would be needed to fight in her stead.
Hans smiled slightly at her. "I'm here to discuss something with you and the council...a matter that is very important to all of us."
Elsa cocked her head in confusion. "Hm? And what could that be?"
"Well...we know that it has been a few weeks since we've won the war. But there is now a completely different pressing matter. An heir!"
Elsa frowned. "Not this again...Hans, I told you that I would give it some thought."
One of the council members stepped forward and said; "Your majesty, it is one of our ancient rules that you provide us with an heir. One way or another."
Elsa nodded towards Hans. "Everyone does realize that he can't?"
"Yes." The council member said. "That is why we have made a list of royalty that can provide us with one."
Hans grabbed a paper from a nearby table and handed it to her. He saw the annoyed look on her face as she pulled the paper from his hands.
He chuckled and said: "Elsa, sweetheart, I know that it isn't something you want, but as a queen and king we need to follow the rules...believe me, I would have liked to give you a child, but I can't."
Elsa looked up at him again. "So, I'll have to consumate with some random prince?"
"King." Hans said. "These are all kings from different kingdoms who probably don't have a wife and do not care about children..." He put his arms onto her shoulders. "Please, look at it and decide for yourself. I won't force you towards someone..."
Elsa nodded. She knew Hans was pressuring her into picking someone specific from this list. Even when she already knew that she wasn't going to choose anyone...
After the meeting Elsa decided to pay Hannah a visit.
She knew that her sister's shift hadn't already started yet.
Elsa walked into the whore house. She wore a cloak and had already managed to sneak out of the castle and through town without anyone noticing her.
As she walked into the whore house Hannah was busy cleaning tables while Kristoff and Gerda were cleaning the bar and some other girls were moving some chairs around.
"Oh, we're closed!" Gerda yelled.
Elsa giggled and pulled the hoodie of her cloak down. Hannah gasped, swiftly moved forward and pulled the hoodie back over her sister's head.
"What the hell?!" Hannah whispered nervously underneath her breath. "What are you doing here? And don't let your face be seen by the others, queen!"
Elsa chuckled again. "Hannah, do not be alarmed, no one has recognized me yet."
Hannah sighed at her. "That is because of your cloak, stupid. Come on, let's go upstairs."
She took Elsa's hand and the two went up the stairs. Gerda and Kristoff didn't pay them much mind since they already guessed that it was Elsa who was hidden underneath the cloak.
The two sisters went into Hannah's room. Hannah motioned for Elsa to sit on her bed.
Elsa looked around. She noticed how small Hannah's room was. There was just enough place for a small closet, a desk and chair and the middle to stand in. There was also a window with thin curtains where the light was barely shining through.
Hannah closed the door behind her and turned towards her sister. "Elsa, what are you doing here?"
"I..." Elsa pulled the list from her pocket. "I need my a woman's advice...and I..." She nervously avoided Hannah's gaze. "I don't know any other woman who can talk with me about this...at the castle there are servants, but besides Jack, I'm not close to any of them..."
Hannah sat down next to her. "It's okay. What's wrong?"
Elsa turned her gaze back to Hannah who smiled a little at her. Elsa handed her the paper and said: "I need to choose a man, a king, to...to have sex with."
"H-huh?" Hannah glanced at the paper and blinked.
"Hans...my husband is sterile. And a part of my job as queen is to create offspring. So, he and the council created this list to let me choose..."
"Are they insane?!" Hannah exclaimed. "You fought in the war for our kingdom, protected everyone, and now they want you to have sex with some random guy?!"
Elsa sighed. "Hannah...those are the rules...I can not disobey. I came here for your advice on the men..."
Hannah jumped up.
"Okay then!" She turned around to face Elsa. "But we'll need a lot of sweets!"
Half an hour later Hannah returned with a bag. She proudly pulled a bunch of chocolate bars and two boxes of ice cream out.
"Hannah, I can't eat all of this!" Elsa exclaimed.
"Ah, live a little, ice queen." Hannah jumped onto the bed besides her and laid on her stomach. She grabbed the list as Elsa laid down too.
"They put a few drawings next to their names." Elsa remarked.
Hannah nodded. She uncovered a bar of chocolate and took a big bite. Elsa stared at her sister as she took a big bite. Her sister noticed her staring and swallowed a piece of chocolate before pointing the piece at her.
"Want a bite?"
"Hannah, I can't..."
"Really, you look pretty enough, you don't need to lose weight." Hannah said.
Elsa blushed and smiled. She cracked a small piece from the chocolate bar and put it into her mouth. The taste made her groan and bury her head into the sheets.
Hannah laughed at her reaction. "Do you never get chocolate or something? That was a big reaction."
Elsa pulled her head back up and looked at her. "Lately not very much, unfortunately."
"Ah...anyway, let's focus on your list!"
Elsa nodded. She put the list between them and pointed at the first king; a man with blue eyes and blond hair.
"Okay, so the first one is king Harold Son of the Drisuizar Kingdom."
Hannah cocked her head at the drawing. "He doesn't look too bad though."
"Drawings can be deceiving. And he is married with eight children."
"Eight?! Isn't that too much?"
"It is...next! King...okay, how do I pronounce this...king War...k...c...sis...lauhw...nee...who...mier?"
"It says Warcislaw Gniewomir..." Hannah said. "You pronounce it war-chis-lov."
"I see...the king of the Kheanid kingdom...he doesn't have any children." Elsa looked at the drawing. The man had a big black beard and looked a bit rough. "But...this one might not be up my standards..."
"You don't find him attractive? I thought you liked guys with big bushy beards."
"I...wait, are you teasing me?"
Hannah giggled. "Perhaps."
"Keep laughing girl-who-was-fawning-over-my-servant."
"Says the woman from an arranged marriage."
"Says the girl who current crush is a man who is almost engaged to his reindeer."
"Oh, now you're going to get it!"
Hannah grabbed a pillow and hit Elsa onto her butt. Elsa yelped and jumped up.
"Hannah!"
She took a pillow too and hit Hannah back. Hannah fell onto her back. Elsa was worried for a second until Hannah got back up and started to hit her again.
The queen laughed as she and her sister kept pillow fighting. The sweets all fell down onto the floor together with the list, but the girls didn't give it any attention. Instead the two kept hitting each other, each trying to win.
After a bit the two got tired. The both fell exhausted onto their backs onto the bed.
Elsa gave Hannah a tired smile as she turned her head towards her. "Okay, alright...we should both admit defeat..."
"You really hit hard for a queen..." Hannah giggled. "Really..." She turned her head and body towards Elsa. "I think that you should make your own choices...especially when it's about your body."
Elsa's smile faded away and she frowned. "I can't..."
"I think you can...if that husband of yours really loves you, then he'll let you..."
"What if I'm not that strong to find the right words?"
"You'll be fine. You've defeated a king before...plus...I...I...I...I think that our parents would be proud of you if they saw you now."
Elsa froze. Proud of her?
"I mean it." Hannah said with a serious tone. "At least I am."
Elsa's eyes filled with tears. "Really?" She managed to choke out and Hannah nodded.
"I mean it. And I'm sorry for thinking that you sold me when I was little."
Elsa wiped her tears away and chuckled. "Right...I'm sorry for being so angry at you."
"And I am sorry for not being there for you. I heard from Jack what has happened with Kristopher."
Hannah sighed. "Yeah...our friendship is a bit of a mess."
"Do you love him?"
"I don't know...I do like him, but love him? He left for Corona when he found out I had been in love with Jack. He wanted to expand his business there, but instead he started to work for the queen there and only returned to hand you the letter of the war...I don't think I can't love someone who won't go one hundred percent for me."
"I see...and do you still have feelings for Jack?"
"No..." Hannah giggled. "Why, do you?"
Elsa became red and sat up. "No! He is only my servant, nothing more!"
Hannah sat up too and wrapped her arms around her. "Elsa, there is nothing wrong with your feelings. I know that you need to be harsh to keep your job, but you don't have to fake it with me. You love him, right?"
"I..."
All of a sudden the door flew open.
Jack stood there, breathing heavily with wide eyes.
"Ah, Jack." Hannah said calmly and she released Elsa. "What's wrong?"
"Don't act so calmly!" Jack said. "The whole castle has been looking for queen Elsa for the past hour!"
Elsa jumped from the bed and grabbed the list from the ground. She walked towards Jack and pushed the list against his chest. "I needed a woman's help to find a man to have sex with. And no, I didn't ask one of our female staff because I am not close to them. Now, I'll go back to the castle and you can follow me or not."
She walked towards the door and slammed it shut as she left.
Jack looked bewilderd at Hannah. "What just happened?"
Hannah shrugged. "I'm guessing that she is angry...better run after her."
Jack turned around and ran out of the room. Hannah sighed and fell back down onto her back. She grabbed the chocolate and took a hard bite out of it.
"Your majesty, wait!"
Jack ran after Elsa, who already had put her cloak and hood back on, marched through the town to go back to the castle.
"Hey!"
Jack caught up with her. He grabbed her by her shoulders and pulled her into a smaller street with fewer people. There he turned her around.
Elsa glared at him with her cold blue eyes. "What is it?" She whispered.
"Just..." Jack smiled at her. "I'm sorry for upsetting you."
"It's not that...I...I actually don't think that I can do this one thing. And as a queen I should be able to...but I just can't! I can not do it with someone I don't know!"
"I understand." Jack whispered. "How about we come up with a different way..."
"That's just it. There is no other way." Elsa said. "And...if it could...if I were able to choose...then I would do it with you."
Jack pulled his hands away from her shoulders and took a step back. Elsa stared at him for a second before she smiled sadly.
"Now I'm scaring you..."
"It's not..."
"You are my servant, I know that." Elsa took a step towards him. "Excuse my words, they..." She gulped before speaking further. "They do not hold any meaning."
"Then why say them?"
Elsa ignored his question and turned around.
"We should head back to the castle before I worry everyone even more."
As they walked in silence back to the castle Jack kept thinking about what she had said...and how painfull her expression was when she spoke those words.
"Where were you?!"
Hans was surprised to see her again. He immediately walked up to Elsa when she and Jack stepped into the hallway. All the servants stopped in their tracks when the queen stepped into the hallway and she let her cloak fall down onto the ground.
"Hans, can we please talk in private?" Elsa asked. "I know that everyone was worried..."
"Of course."
Hans and Elsa walked up the stairs to speak in their bedroom. Jack grabbed the cloack from the ground. He looked at Kai who seemed just as concerned as him.
Elsa and Hans stepped into their bedroom and closed the door behind them.
"I know that you were all worried..." Elsa started, but Hans cut her off.
"Did you? You do realize that you, as our queen, won't be able to just dissapear anymore?"
Elsa grabbed his hands. "Hans, I know! But I also know that I can't do this!"
"Can't do what?" Hans asked.
"I went to see Hannah and ask for her advice...I know that I need to bring an heir, but I can't have sex with a random man...I know my duties, but..."
Hans glared at her. "Elsa, I know that it must be hard for you, but there is no other option!" He pulled hands back. "Do you think I want this too?!"
"No, but..."
"I want us to have a child together, but the possibility of that happening is at a very low point!"
Elsa got angry too. She felt as if he didn't care about her feelings, only about the crown.
"Don't you care about my feelings?!" Elsa yelled.
"I do! But doing your job is a bit more important!"
"You don't care that I'm sleeping with a stranger?"
"Well, you've done it with Jack, so it shouldn't be a problem!"
Elsa gasped. "You...I can't believe you!"
She raised her hand to slap him, but Hans quickly grabbed her wrist. His eyes got a dark glance in them.
"Were you about to slap your husband?" He clenched her wrist tighter and Elsa whimpered.
"Hans...let go..."
"I am not tolerating this kind of behaviour..." Hans pulled her closer to his chest. Elsa wanted to pull away, but all of a sudden he kissed her.
Elsa closed her eyes. The kiss was a bit foreign to her since they hadn't kissed for a long time and...
Hans released her wrist. Elsa put her hands against his chest and pushed herself more into the kiss. It was like it was before. Before she had fallen for Jack, before her parents had died, before she found out about Hannah being her sister...
She pulled out of the kiss. Hans stared at her confused.
"Elsa?"
"We can't turn back time..." Elsa whispered as she looked up at him. "I..."
"I do love you." Hans said suddenly.
"I..."
He started to kiss her again. Elsa wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him back. She wanted everything to go back to how it was, but she knew that she could make the future better.
Elsa pulled away from the kiss and looked at Hans.
"I...love you too." She said. "And...I want to be with you...I'm sorry for being such a trouble sometimes, but at some moments there is too much pressure..."
"I understand. I'm sorry for doing that." Hans put his lips onto her forehead and whispered; "How about I'll be more open and you'll are going to be a bit more easy?"
Elsa giggled. "Alright, I'll keep that as a reminder."
"And..." Hans pulled away and stared at her. "I want you to only fall for me. Not for Jack or any other man..."
"He is just a servant." Elsa lied.
"But..."
"And I'm sorry that I went behind your back...I won't do it again...my feelings should not affect my job as queen."
"Good girl."
A few weeks later it was a normal day as usual.
It was an early morning when Jack woke up. He quickly dressed himself and ran down to the kitchen. There he managed to grab some bread and water for a quick breakfast and saw a glimpse of a few new maids in training.
Some of the new maids would surely quit after a few weeks and a few of them would survive.
Jack shook his head. He should hurry up and brush his teeth before Elsa would wake up.
He was about to run up the stairs when he almost bumped into someone.
A woman with blond hair and brown eyes stared back at him. She was wearing a maid outfit and Jack immediately guessed that she was one of the new maids.
"Ah, I'm sorry!" The woman yelled.
"It's okay, you must be one of the new maids." Jack said. "I won't tell Kai, so don't worry about it."
"Thanks...wait..." The woman cocked her head at him. "You're Jack Frost, right?"
"Yeah...I'm the queen's personal servant."
"Ah, I'm so sorry!"
The woman made a bow towards him. Jack gulped and waved nervously with his hands.
"W-wait, you don't need to bow, it's fine, really! Speaking off...I have to go."
"Of course!"
Jack said her goodbye and ran up the stairs.
He had forgotten to ask her name, but he didn't have time for that. He ran up the stairs to his own room. quickly brushed his teeth at the sink and then made his way to Elsa's bedroom.
Just as he got there the door opened up.
Hans stepped out first and nodded towards him. Jack immediately made a bow. Elsa stepped out of the room after her husband.
She looked at Jack and sighed. "You're a bit late, Frost."
Jack straightened his back again. "I am so sorry, queen Elsa, I accidentally ran into one of the new maids."
Elsa chuckled a little and started to walk. Jack followed behind her.
"They're already training them? Isn't it a bit early?"
"I wouldn't know..." Jack muttered.
They walked down the stairs to the dining room. There Elsa and Hans both sat down for breakfast.
Jack leaned against the wall. He already noticed that both of them weren't eating a lot, even though the staff were bringing a lot of food.
"You aren't hungry?" Hans asked Elsa.
Elsa shook her head. "Not really...but you know why..."
"Right..."
The two of them stayed seated in silence until Kai came to get them. They immediately went with him to the docks. Jack followed them close behind. The atmosphere was suffocating.
When they got to the docks there was already a ship. Elsa was holding Hans' hand as they both stood there with the guards and Jack behind them.
Elsa gulped when she heard the sound of shoes on the wooden docks coming towards them. Hans gave her hand a squeeze as someone came towards them. A man with brown eyes and dark hair appeared. He wore a dark blue royal attire.
The man stopped in front of them and made a bow.
"Your majesties, I am so glad to meet you both. My name James Redford from the Ulsish kingdom." He straightened his back again and smiled at them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Hans said. "My name is Hans Westerguard and this is my wife, Elsa."
The man looked at Elsa. Elsa nodded at him. She had chosed him because he was the most normal man on the list. The others all had some weir habits or were married. This man was a clean slate; he was a king who's wife had died ages ago. Since then he didn't have anyone and he would like to keep it that way.
"Shall we head inside for some tea?" Elsa said.
James Redford nodded. "Of course."
The three of them went back inside the castle where the staff prepared some tea for them while they sat down in the living room.
James looked around as they sat down. There were a few old paintings in the room, some of them were of Elsa's parents.
He looked back at Elsa. "Queen Elsa, I am so sorry for your loss...I don't know if it's too late..."
"It's not." Elsa said. "Thank you..."
Hans chuckled. "Elsa is a bit nervous around new people. But we should discuss the deal."
"Yes." James said. "Of course, king Hans. I assume that we should choose a date for a consumation?"
Elsa shivered a little. She hated that word. It sounded like a business deal. And she didn't want it to be just a transaction..
"Firstly!" Elsa suddenly said, making both of the men jump a little. "I assume that we need to get to know each other a bit more...it might consu...take a bit of our time, but it is necessary for me to perform well."
Hans raised his eyebrows at her. "Isn't that unnecesary?"
"I think it is fine." James said to their surprise. "I want to perform well too and for that...knowing a bit more about the queen would be nice. How about we spend some time together?"
Elsa nodded. "That sounds good."
And so, while Hans was training with his brother, James and Elsa decided to sit down in the library to talk about their lives.
"...And that is how I won the third war."
Elsa leaned on her elbows as James told her about his life. She learned about how he met his wife, how the two wanted to have children, but how his wife died, that after that he got crowned and had to fight in battles to defend his kingdom.
"And now my kingdom is florishing." James told her. "I heard you had to fight as well?"
Elsa stopped leaning on her elbows and nodded. "Yes. But only one...and I had to train with Christian for a while before I got good in sword fighting..."
"Who is..."
"Oh! Christian is my husband's brother...he is the king of the Southern Isles."
James raised his eyebrows and a dark glint briefly appeared in his eyes. His voice sounded a bit more deep as he said: "He is, huh..."
"Hm?"
The dark glint dissapeared and James smiled softly again at her. "Nothing. But it must be a lot for you to handle this all by yourself. Arendelle is not an easy kingdom to manage."
"Any kingdom is difficult. But I will never give up on Arendelle..." Elsa smiled at him. "But I am glad to have my husband by my side. And with an heir to the throne we won't falter."
"Alright. What about your personal servant."
"He is..."
"Just a servant?"
Elsa stared at him in surprisement. James chuckled at her look and folded his arms.
"Queen Elsa, there is no way that a servant of 3 years means nothing to you. You must care a lot about him to protect him with those words."
"I..." Elsa gulped and she quickly changed the conversation. "How about we go for a walk? Perhaps I can show you my powers."
James stood up. "Powers? Alright..."
Elsa jumped up with a happy smile. She was glad that he wasn't asking more about her servant. It was heavy on her heart and tiredsome to lie.
Meanwhile Hannah was in town, sitting on a bench together with Kristoff.
They were both eating a sandwich and watching some kids play.
Hannah glanced at Kristoff. "When are you going back?"
Kristoff didn't look at her, but said; "I don't need to go back."
Hannah stopped eating her sandwich. She felt how her heart skipped a beat. She almost dropped her sandwich.
"Wait, what?"
"Yeah, the queen already knows that I'm not returning back, didn't you know that? I..."
Hannah suddenly yelped and threw her arms around him. Kristoff's sandwich dropped onto the ground and so did Hannah's , but she didn't care.
"You jerk!" Hannah yelled. "Do you know how scared was about you moving away?! I thought that..."
Hannah pulled away and looked at him.
"I...uh..." Hannah became red. "I...I...I want you to stay."
Kristoff became red too. He rubbed his neck and smiled sheepishly. "Ah...so...what do we do from here?"
Hannah cocked her head at him. "We could date."
Kristoff almost fell from the bench. "D-d-date?!"
"Yes. Why?"
"Aren't you..."
"No, I'm not love with Jack anymore. He is in love with my sister and I'm in love with someone else."
Kristoff chuckled. "And who could that be?"
Hannah gave him a playfull push and giggled.
"It's beautiful."
Elsa and James were walking through the forest. They decided to skip the town since it would cause too much commotion.
Elsa looked at James as he spoke those words out loud. "Hm? Ah, yes, the forest is beautiful..."
"And so are you."
Elsa stopped in her tracks and looked at James. The king stopped too and smiled at her. He walked towards her.
"Don't deny it." James said. "You are..."
Elsa gulped. She suddenly felt a chill and took a few steps back. "Thank you...but I think we better return home, it's going to rain soon." Her back bumped against a tree behind her and she shrieked.
James walked up to her and put his hand next to her head against the tree stump. He looked her right into her eyes.
"It's going to be fun."
"W-w-what is?" Elsa stuttered.
"Doing it with a weak queen like you...and making you scream my name..."
James leaned closer in, but Elsa had enough.
An ice spike suddenly shot out of the ground between them and James was knocked back.
"Stay away from me!" Elsa yelled. More ice spikes shot out of the ground around them and ice covered the tree behind her.
James slowly stood up and wiped from the mud from his pants. He glared at Elsa who glared back at him.
"You really are a monster..." James said."The rumors were true..."
Elsa gritted her teeth. "Say that again..."
"Fine. MONSTER!"
Elsa her eyes widened at his words. James was suddenly a completely different person...he was not the nice man Elsa wanted to trust...instead he was...only this.
"A witch with ice powers is all you are!" James yelled. He took a step forward. "These powers are not normal, you shouldn't have been born!"
Elsa felt how her body started to shake. "You...why are you saying things like this..."
James sighed and took a step back again. He put his hand against his head and said; "This should've been easy...if I knew about your powers then I wouldn't have come...but..." He pulled his hand away from his head and looked at Elsa with an evil smile. "King Christian is your brother. And the Southern Isles is a kingdom I do want on my territory. I-"
"Get away from me!"
More ice spikes shot out of the ground towards him. James quickly avoided them.
"Get away, get away, get away, get away, get away, get away, get away, get away!"
James quickly ran off. When he had dissapeared Elsa stopped screaming and the ice spikes stopped coming out of the ground. She slowly sit down to the ground and wrapped her arms around herself.
"I shouldn't have tried to trust him..." Elsa whispered.
Jack was helping Kai clean downstairs, since the maids were in training and he didn't have much to do, when James marched into the hallway.
King Redford!" Kai said. He looked surprised at the man. "You are back a bit earlier then we expected...where is the queen..."
James stopped in his tracks and looked at him. "There was never any mention about her powers."
Hans walked down the stairs with his brother and he noticed James immediately. James sighed in annoyance.
"Really, are you going to ask me the same thing?" He muttered.
Hans raised his eyebrows at him. "Where is my wife?"
James took a step closer to him. "She told me about her powers and showed them to me, king Hans...really, that woman is a demon with what she can do..if I knew about it beforehand, then I would have never agreed upon this. Surely, I would never care for the child she would bring into this world, but I don't want to bring a demon..."
Suddenly Hans punched him down.
James fell down onto the ground with a loud thud. Kai and Jack both gasped while Christian simply chuckled.
"Don't talk about my wife like that." Hans said harshly. "You don't understand or know anything about her. Her powers are a gift and I wouldn't want to change anything about her. Now, you can go while we search for her. Oh." Hans chuckled. " And my brother won't be so easily manipulated by your weakness. You can forget about the Southern Isles becoming yours."
James stood up and rubbed his cheek. "One day I'll take the Southern Isles."
With that he walked off. Hans rolled his eyes and then turned his attention back towards Jack and Kai.
"Kai, gather a team of guards to look for the queen. Jack, since you are her personal servant, you'll have the lovely pleasure of already searching for her."
"Yes, your majesty!" Kai and Jack yelled. Kai made a bow and ran off and so did Jack.
Hans looked at Christian. "Well, there goes plan A..."
"I told you it wasn't a good plan in the first place." Christian said. "'We should go over to plan B."
"Right..."
Christian noticed Hans' nervous tone and gave him a small slap on his shoulder.
"Don't worry...it will be alright..."
"I know..."
Jack ran through the forest.
It started to rain heavily. His shoes started to get muddy and his clothes were getting wet, but he didn't care. He had to find her. She was probably scared and alone, lost...
He almost fell over a branch, yet he managed to keep himself up and ran further.
He had to find her. It echoed throughout his head. He knew that as her servant he was the one who had to find her. Even when the world was ending, he had to find her. And he knew that he eventually...
"Jack?"
Find her.
Elsa was sitting underneath a tree.
"Queen Elsa!" Jack ran towards her and helped her up. She was soaked to the bone. "You're cold...we need to heat you up!"
"J-Jack..."
"There is a small cabin nearby that the knights sometimes used when they were training, come on!"
The cabin was not too far away.
Jack wanted to rbing her there, since there was a fireplace. He knew Elsa was always cold, but he wanted to prevend her from getting sick.
As the stepped into the cabin it was cold. But there was a fire place in front of a couch. Jack quickly put Elsa down onto the couch and lit the fire up. He then told Elsa that she needed to stay put and ran around to check the cabin out.
There wasn't much. Only a kitchen with a few rotten apples on the counter, a hole in another room that had to be a toilet and a bed upstairs.
"Jack, are you finished?!" Elsa yelled.
Jack ran back to her and told her what was in the cabin.
Elsa sighed. "I see...well..." Her hands moved to the back of her dress to pull it off.
Jack became red and waved with his hands. "W-w-what are you doing?!"
Elsa froze in her movements and quirked an eyebrow at him. "I am taking off my uppergarments...don't worry, I stil have a dress underneath this one. This one is simply too wet, calm down."
Jack lowered his hands and looked away with a blush. "Alright..."
Elsa smiled slightly. She pulled her dress off within a swoop and it fell down onto the ground. But something rolled out of a pocket.
"What is..." Elsa picked a small bottle from the ground. It looked like it was wine. She didn't remember putting a small bottle of wine into her opened the bottle up and sniffed at it. It did smell like any other wine.
Elsa sat back up and looked at Jack.
"I have found some wine in my pocket...perhaps we can drink this up to warm up?"
Jack looked back at her. He blushed even more when he saw her in her underdress. He quickly jumped up.
"A-a-alright, I'll see if I can find some glasses!"
He ran to the kitchen and opened up a cabinet. He shook his head. There was no reason for him to think like this...he was her servant only. His job was to make sure that she safe. He was going to drink with her, hear some of her troubles and then put her to bed. He would sleep on the couch downstairs and as soon as the rain stopped they would go back to the castle...
He grabbed two glasses from the cabinet and walked back to Elsa.
She smiled at him softly when he came back.
"H-here..." Jack put the two glasses down onto the table. Elsa handed him the bottle of wine and he poured it into the two glasses.
"Jack?"
Jack looked at her. "Yes?"
"Are my powers...do you think of them as monstrous?"
Jack sighed and moved closer. He gently took her hands with a smile. "I know what king James said to you...and it is completely out of line. Your powers are beautiful and-"
"You don't mean that." Elsa interrupted him and she looked away. "I'm...I'm trying, but I can never hold them fully back. And we both know what kind of damage they can bring."
"Yes, we both know. But they are a part of you." Jack whispered. "And like everything else about you...they are beautiful."
Elsa blushed. She felt how her heart started to thump louder.
"R-right..." She whispered. "You and A...Hannah are the only ones who like my powers."
"Is that so wrong?"
Elsa's eyes widened. Jack stared back at her with a serious and intense gaze.
"I..."
"We should drink this wine!"
Elsa grabbed her glass. Jack sighed, smiled sadly and drank the wine as well.
Elsa knew what he was about to say. And even though he had told her it before, this time it was worse...because...
This time she understood him.
She put the glass down onto the table and so did Jack. The wine tasted a bit strange, but it was good nontheless. She was no expert in wine and neither was Jack.
Elsa let out a yawn and Jack chuckled a little.
"Are you tired, your majesty?"
Elsa stopped yawning. She moved closer to him and laid her head against his shoulder.
"I want us to stay like this..." She whispered.
Jack stared at the fire. "You know that we can't...it is...against the rules."
"Is sitting like this forbidden? I am only tired."
"There is a bed upstairs." Jack pulled back. He didn't look her into her eyes. "I-I'll sleep on the couch."
Elsa bit on her lip. She knew she wanted them to be more professional...but this hurt more than ever.
She jumped up and forced a smile onto her lips. "Okay! I'll sleep upstairs on the bed! I'll shall see you in the morning."
She didn't wait for an answer and ran up the stairs.
Elsa shut the door behind her and wiped a few tears away that were forming in her eyes. She noticed a mirror against the wall and walked up to it. She put her hand against the mirror and sighed at her own reflection.
She shouldn't be feeling this way. Not about a servant. And she shouldn't be acting like this. She should be a strong queen with a strong heart...but...the way he looked at her and held her hands...his warmth, his smell, his soothing voice...the way his brown eyes looked at her...
Elsa groaned a little.
She felt something.
A strange feeling formed into her core...but it weren't her powers...it was something else...
"Elsa."
Jack stepped into the room. He shut the door behind him and walked up to her.
"Jack?" Elsa smiled at him. "What's wrong? Are you unable to sleep? I'll be glad to switch with you-"
Jack grabbed her roughyl by her shoulders and pushed her against the mirror.
It cracked a little and before Elsa could respond she felt his lips against hers. He moved in a more aggressive manner against her than usually.
Elsa quickly pushed him away a little, breathing heavily. She looked into his eyes and saw a hunger in them.
"J-Jack..." She whispered. "What are you doing..."
"I want you." Jack managed to whisper through a groan. Elsa felt something against her leg and realized their situation. Jack gave her a half-smile and said: "You feel it too, right?"
"Y-y-yes, but I try to surpress it."
"Don't..." Jack kissed her against her neck. "Don't..."
Elsa moaned as they moved towards the bed where they fell down onto the matrass with a thud. Jack kissed her everywhere where it was sensitive and Elsa allowed his love. Somewhere she knew that it was wrong, but...
She stopped surpressing her urges and allowed it to unfold.
