Pinky:

Gee, Brain, what do ya wanna do tonight?

Sparkle(me):

I know what we're doing tonight!

The Brain:

That's right sparkle! Same thing we do every night, Pinky, try to take over the world!

They're Pinky and the Brain,

Yes, Pinky and the Brain,

One is a genius, the other's insane.

They met a little girl,

Who changed their whole world,

They're pinky,

Sparkle and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain,

Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain,

Brain.

Before each night is done,

Their plan will be unfurled,

By the dawning of the sun,

They'll take over the world!

They're Pinky and the Brain,

Yes, Pinky and the Brain,

Their twilight campaign

Is easy to explain:

To prove their mousey worth,

They'll overthrow the earth.

They're pinky,

Sparkle and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain,

Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain...

Pinky: NARF!

Sparkle (me): *giggles*

"Sparkle!"

It had been a week since they had to leave their mom, it was too much to go to school for a week, they couldn't bear to face anyone. I mean, I wouldn't blame them, they just had to go through something really really traumatic, and school on top of said really really traumatic thing, seemed a little too much. Luckily for her, it wasn't a school day today.

So, sparkle was happy to see a familiar face again.

"Hi Tress! I missed you too!" Sparkle exclaimed wheeling over to her and giving her a hug.

The 12-year-old giggled, hugging her back.

Tress had been the only one sparkle had the courage to tell everything to, Tress, despite being one of the youngest, was simply the most mature out of everyone. She looks at things maturely, not rationally doing stupid things like most of the boys would've.

"How are you guys holding up?" Tress asked, guiding Sparkle over to a table inside a cafe where they could talk about things.

Sparkle positioned herself, and then turned her wheelchair off. " honestly? Not well, our father got in contact with us... "She pauses for a brief moment, averting her eyes, focusing on whatever was happening outside as she tried to gather her words to continue, Tress patiently listening.

Yes, their father had somehow managed to get in contact with them. Sparkle didn't deny him right away, she explained the situation to him, about how their mother was unfit to take care of them, he understood, surprisingly, but that doesn't mean he's off the hook. After a two hour long conversation, sparkle very strongly expressed that she didn't want anything to do with her father anymore. He asked her why, because of course he did, and she emotionally explained how her father wasn't there for her when she needed him. She emotionally explained that she needed him, that little girls were supposed to have their fathers, her father did nothing of the sort. Instead he did cigarettes and played on his computer with his online friends.

Her father apologised, because again, of course he did. But sparkle couldn't forgive him like she could've before. She explained, very grown up, that her parents had indeed failed her and her brother. They did fail, they tried, and sparkle acknowledged that, but as soon as they felt they could trust again, they stopped trying, which sparkle didn't appreciate. Sparkle explained that she was tired, tired of lying to everyone around her about her parents, she was tired of having to make up stupid excuses as to why she couldn't do things, she was tired of wishing for things that she knew weren't going to happen anymore. Her parents failed, and that was that, they couldn't try again, they don't deserve to, no more second chances, no more do overs, no more restarts, they were done.

They were done.

Done.

As much as it pained her to have to cut contact with them, she had to. She'd been let down by them too many times by this point, it hurt, but it was true. She could trust lab mice better than her own parents, and it shouldn't have to be like this, she should be able to tell everything to her parents, but she can't, at least not anymore.

But eventually, she finds her words again, trying her best to make eye contact.

" I told him to never contact me or my brother again."

Tress nodded. "How did he take that?" Tress asked after a beat.

"Not well." Sparkle replied a minute later.

"Oh." Was Tress's only response.

"Yep..." Sparkle sighed.

"How are the others?" Sparkle asked after a moment.

"Worried about you guys." Tress says softly.

Sparkle nods, because that's the only thing she can do. She wants to tell them, she really does, and Tress knows that . But she also knows she Can't, either. Tress knows that she would've told Leela, but she knows why she didn't. Leela would be freaking out, and that's not good for her, especially right now. She has a lot to do in her own life, and sparkle doesn't want to distract her from that.

Tress knows that she would've told the others, Rob, Randy, Maurice, or maybe even Jess, but she knows why she didn't tell them yet, she didn't want them freaking out, she was just as anxious as they would be if they found out. Because she knows that they're soft, she knows that they put on the tough act for her sake, and Tress knows, very well, that Sparkle hates it when they do that.

"I can't..." Sparkle Whispers out, her voice breaking.

Tress takes her hand, squeezes it lightly and smiles softly at her. "I know..."

Sparkle officially breaks down, and Tress comes to her side, hugging her tight. "You'll get through this, you and Carl both will." She reassures, knowing that it won't help right now.

A few days later.

Sparkle returns to school, Carl being not so brave right now, and she wishes he was with her, but he's not, and she has to deal with that, even if she hates it.

Sparkle knows that the others are going to be angry, she knows that they are going to yell at her, she knows it's going to happen, but still, she's not ready for it. It makes her stomach drop, her stomach hurt, and it makes her want to turn back, it makes her want to go home, makes her want to curl up in her bed and cry. But she knows she can't do that anymore.

She wheels over to them, no expression whatsoever. She waits, she waits anxiously, and it drives her nuts.

Rob Eventually looks at her, and the tears start again. "Don't be mad... "she says through her tears.

Rob comes over, hugs her, and then wiped her tears. "I'm not... "He whispers. "I'm not mad Sparkle sweetie.."He murmurs.

He hugs her tighter, like the older brother he always was to her.

Maurice joins next, not hugging her at first, he just waits. "None of us are mad." He reassures, gently joining the hug.

She pulls him closer, needing her biggest brother to make it better. "I've got you.." He murmurs.

"Thanks, Mo." She says.

"Anytime." He replies.

The bell rings, signalling the day to start, and Sparkle tenses. Maurice Takes her hand, squeezing it reassuringly, guiding her into the school, with Rob, Jess Randy and Tress following behind, almost shielding her from any onlookers that threatened to make a comment.

They walk into the classroom, Leela getting up out of her seat and walking over to them.

"Hey, sister Sib." She said softly.

Sparkle just replies with a nod, finding words really difficult right now. Leela understands, guiding her to her desk, relieving the others from their shielding duties.

Leela wonders if she wants to talk about it. She wonders how she's doing, but she doesn't ask, she just tells her what they're doing, helping her with any task Mrs Everfree sets them on. But she can tell, very very clearly, she's distracted. Distracted with other things that aren't related to school.

"Wanna talk about it?" She tries.

Sparkle shakes her head. "No." She says, trying her best to focus on the work in front of her, but, it was fractions, she hated those, but she tried to focus, really, she did try. But, she was struggling, and Leela could tell, too.

Finally, the day's over. The day's over and she can leave. She wheels 'home,' slowly, knowing that the 'home' she had to go to was not her own.

She would have asked her friends to join her, walk home with her, maybe get some ice cream on the way, but she can't, she's overwhelmed and overstimulated and over everything. She just wants to cry, but she physically can't, no sounds escape.

She's just, done.

She stops off at a Target, going into the store quickly and putting on her ear defenders. She goes to get some chunky fries, Super mature cheddar, some quiche, and a couple of treats. She goes to the self check out, too overwhelmed to deal with any humans right now, and pays for her stuff, getting a bag, and asking one of the nice ladies to put it in for her. The lady patronisingly smiles, and it pisses sparkle off, and she would've told her not to smile like that, but she couldn't socialise right now. She doesn't say anything to the lady, just leaves, heading 'home.'

Her phone vibrates, telling her she received a message from Pinky, who's clearly worried about her. She pulled over into a park, grabbed her phone, and replied back to him.

Sparkle: I'm taking a slow walk back, i'll be in soon:)

Not even 30 seconds later, Pinky responds.

Pinky: Okay, NARF! Take your time:)

30 minutes later is when she returns.

When she gets 'home' Lila waves, doesn't say anything, just waves, and sparkle very much appreciates that.

She goes to her room, Brain greeting her with a smile, noticing her ear defenders, understanding that she is overwhelmed. He notices the Target bag, going over and getting it off the back of her chair. He understands this is what she wants to eat for dinner, he knows because the oven is already ready just for him to put the chunky fries in.

She nonverbally asks Pinky if they could have some relaxation pamper time before dinner, and he nods. The twins want some too, and sparkle only has the courage to say one thing to them. "Not tonight, girls. "She says in a broken voice. "Sissy is overwhelmed right now."

The twins complain, whining that "This isn't fair!"

Brain hears them, giving them a stern look. "Girls." He warns, they don't say anything after that, they keep quiet, not wanting to upset daddy or sissy.

Sparkle wheels herself in the bathroom, Pinky following, closing the door gently behind him.

Sparkle finally feels safe enough to take her ear defenders off, Pinky gently takes them with utmost care, putting them where sparkle could still reach them if she needs them.

"Hi." She squeaks.

"Hi Love.." Pinky says softly.

"Mommy..." she whimpers.

Pinky nods. "Mummy's here." He reassured her. Getting the brush with a unicorn on it, a welcome gift from Lila, and gently starts to brush her hair.

No words were exchanged, they didn't need words, good thing, too, because Sparkle couldn't speak right now.

Pinky Asked the Amazon echo to play some calming music while he brushed her hair, the little girl finally relaxing and letting her headspace go, reverting back to a much younger childlike state of mind, despite her being only 10.

Once her Elsa braid was done, Pinky Got his therapeutic make up out of the cupboard, and putting it on the sink. He climbed down onto the sink, getting the first thing for their therapeutic make up routine.

Moisturiser for her face, a little bit of blush, some tiny sparkles, and some lip gloss. They were done. Sparkle looked in the mirror, smiling a little to herself. They put everything away, Sparkle being a good little helper.

They left the room, Sparkle with her ear defenders on.

Brain comes over, mindful that she's in her littlespace. "Oh my goodness! My baby girl looks so pretty!" Brain exclaimed.

Sparkle giggled. "Thanw you papa!" She said in her littlespace voice.

Roman walked over, also aware that his little sister was in her littlespace. "Yeah sis! You look so pretty!"

She smiled, picking up her brother and giving him a hug, as he gladly hugged back.

The oven beeped, signalling that her dinner was done.

Sparkle was too busy watching Lilo and stitch the series to notice that her food was done, 15 minutes later and the megalomaniac comes in with her food chopped up in toddler sized bites, on her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles plate.

"Here you go, sweetheart, It should be the right temperature for you now." Brain said softly.

Sparkle smiled. "Thanw you papa." She replied quietly, picking up one of the chopped cheesy fries and eating it.

The next day came, sparkle dreading it like she did the first time she went back. Carl still wasn't going with her, he wanted to, but he ended up having an anxiety attack over it, so, his family, including Lila, even though neither of them would consider her part of their family, suggested that Carl stay off a little longer. Sparkle agreed to it as well, despite her wanting him to go with her today, she knew that staying off would be best for him today, she even recommended Jimmy come over to visit him, maybe his genius friend could convince Carl that school was a good idea.

With that, sparkle wheeled off to school. Dreading the eyes, laughter, snickers and hurtful comments that would be no doubt thrown her way. She began to wheel along, music playing through her headphones, brief escapism for her. Ever since the incident where her school bus broke down, sparkle opted to walk to school instead, her anxiety too heightened by the event. So now she just walks to school.

She arrived 10 minutes later, wheeling into the school yard.

"Mary Sue! " A girl shouted, throwing rocks at her.

"Attention seeker! "Another shouted.

"Spoiled brat! "Another shouted.

Sparkle tried her best to ignore them the best she could.

Then, a girl and her group of friends came over to sparkle. One of them had red hair with blue eyes, some type of Gucci outfit on, the other girls matched her, one of them having blonde hair, the other having jet black hair, and the last one having purple dyed hair in pigtails.

"Hey, wicked Witch!" Brittany sneered.

"Look at her hair girls, isn't it ugly?" Olivia asked.

"Yeaaaah!" The girls agreed.

Courtney yanked Sparkle's headphones off of her head, throwing them to the ground and stepping on them, while the other girls pulled her actual hair, yanking big chunks out.

Sparkle cried like a baby, absolutely defenceless. She was so weak, so tiny.

"Hey!"

Houston came running over. The girls stopped what they were doing, looked at the boy, and burst out laughing. "What are you gonna do? " Olivia laughed.

Houston pushed the girls off all of them on the ground. "Don't hurt my friend!" Houston yelled.

Courtney laughed. "Her? Your friend? You mean the one that shares lunch with you? I don't think so! "Courtney spat.

Houston growled. "I said get away from her!" Houston threatened.

Meanwhile.

"Hey Carl buddy," Jimmy said in a soothing voice.

Carl's eyes widen in shock, causing Jimmy to laugh a little. "Didn't mean to scare ya, buddy. Sparkle recommended I come to see my best bud today." Jimmy said gently.

Carl looked so small, so vulnerable. Jimmy frowned at Carl's broken expression. "I'm here for you, buddy, you can tell me what's going on, I'll listen.."

Carl shakes his head. "No you won't, you'll make some stupid invention, being all 'Sciencey' about it. When, I just really need a friend..." Carl said in a small voice.

Jimmy came over and gave him a hug. "You got it buddy, I can be the listening ear for you. No inventions, I promise, I'll just listen." He reassured, sitting on the bed Carl was sitting on too.

Carl took a shaky breath.

"I wanna go home... "Carl says.

Jimmy frowned. "With me?" Jimmy asked quietly.

Poor Carl started to cry. "Yeah!" Carl sobbed. "I-I-I miss you! I miss when we used to play together, when you used to protect me from the bullies, I miss you so much..."

Jimmy squeezed his hand, comfortingly caressing his thumb over it. " I miss you so much... I'm so lonely..."

Jimmy squeezed his hand tighter. "Oh, buddy... I'm so sorry you're going through that right now." Jimmy said gently, using his thumbs to wipe away the tears before he placed his hand on his friend's cheek, caressing it gently, Carl nuzzling into the touch.

Jimmy hugs his best friend tight as his friend broke down, Full on sobbing.

"Shh." Jimmy shushed soothingly, rubbing Carl on the back, massaging his back, knowing that Carl was about to have a meltdown.

"Shh, shhh, it's okay buddy, flap if you need to..."Jimmy says gently.

Carl started to rock back and forth in Jimmy's arms, making his little noises, Jimmy still massaging his back.

An hour and a half later, Carl was feeling better.

"Hi, buddy..." Jimmy said in a much quieter voice.

Carl doesn't speak, he can't right now. Jimmy understands, continuing to rub his back, humming softly.

An hour and a half passes again before Carl finds his words.

"Hi..." he says softly.

"Hi bud," Jimmy says just as softly. "Feeling a bit better?" He asked.

"Yeah," Carl nodded. "A bit." He says.

"Good..." Jimmy says.

"Now," Jimmy began, aware that this could trigger another meltdown. "Larry tells me that Carl doesn't wanna go to school right now, is that right Larry? "Jimmy asks his best friend's llama plush.

Carl starts to whimper, Jimmy eases him by massaging his back some more.

"School is a little much right now, huh buddy?" Jimmy asks gently.

Carl nods, starting to cry, Jimmy shushing him.

"Shh shh shh, it's alright buddy, it's alright... let's do our balloon breathing okay? Blow the balloon nice and big, and let it out again, okay?" Jimmy gently instructed.

Carl gently followed Jimmy's instructions, starting to feel calm, Jimmy smiled, giving him a big hug. Carl felt something weird happening inside of his belly, were they butterflies? He wasn't sure, but he liked it when Jimmy held him like that, it made him feel safe and loved, in a different way to his family.

Jimmy felt the same way too, it seemed, because the genius boy kissed his cheek. It was gentle, soft, reassuring even.

" I liked that..." Carl says gently.

Jimmy smiled softly. "I did too buddy, I did too." Jimmy replied.

"It's not a test, is it? " Carl asked.

Jimmy kissed his cheek again. "No, buddy, it's not. I genuinely feel this way..." he says softly.

"Like, a crush?" Carl questions.

Jimmy laughed. "Yeah buddy, like a crush." Jimmy answered.

Carl giggled. "I like you like a crush too." He says softly.

Jimmy interlocked their hands, smiling at him.

"Does this mean we're boyfriends?" Carl asked, a little fearfully.

"If you want to be, but we don't have to be boyfriends right now. I'll wait for you." Jimmy says gently.

Carl had a couple of tears fall, Jimmy gently wiping them. "We can't be boyfriends, though! We don't live in the same city anymore!" Carl wept.

Jimmy kissed his cheek again to calm him. "We can still be boyfriends, buddy, just cause we don't live near each other doesn't mean we can't be boyfriends." Jimmy reassured him, caressing his cheek.

That made Carl smile. "Then, I will be your boyfriend, if you will be mine." Carl said.

"Gladly. "Jimmy says, pulling him into another hug.

Now Carl realised, maybe this was why he was missing Jimmy so much. Maybe this was why, because he loves him.

He leans in this time, gently pressing a kiss to Jimmy's lips, Jimmy gently kissing back.

Pinky smiled, having been watching the moment between them. He didn't speak, obviously, just watching with a content smile on his face.

"So, we gonna try for school tomorrow?" Jimmy asked gently.

Carl gave him a nervous look. "I wish you could come with me..." he whimpered.

Jimmy sighed. " I can't buddy, you know that. The only reason I could come over today was because there was a teachers training day today, but I can't unfortunately." Jimmy says sadly. "But I tell you what, how about, on Friday, which is two days from now, I pick you up after school, yeah?" Jimmy compromised. " besides, you invited me to Brain and pinky's wedding next weekend, which I'm honoured for, so I'll see you sooner than you think. " Jimmy says, Carl smiles at that, Jimmy kissing his cheek again.

Jimmy blushed, smiled and checked his watch. He had to leave. Reluctantly, the new found lovers pulled apart, their fingers brushed each other's slightly, grasping onto the last bit of contact they had before Jimmy was out the door.

Carl watched him leave, with only the thought of him left now, but he would see him on Friday. He just, had to go to school before then. But he can try again tomorrow.

For now though, Carl would think about his lover and smile while doing so. Because, for a certain llama loving boy, love was definitely in bloom.

A/N: Trigger warning just in case!

Hi everyone, chapter 16! Holy hell this is the longest story I've ever written. Seriously, this is the longest story I've ever written on here. Over 40,000+ words so far! Holy hell that's a lot! *Mind blown noises*

Things for me these last couple days haven't been great. I had a sensory overload yesterday, everyone was being loud, and I just kind of broke down. Not to mention, we had a new student join our class, I don't know if it's permanent, I hope not, I don't need another person in my class, let's call them Sam. (As you can tell, I'm keeping their real names confidential) But anyway, Sam is alright I guess, they wouldn't be the type of person I would hang out with willingly, unlike Lilo. I would genuinely love to hang out with her outside of college purposes, she can be explosive sometimes, but I would love to hang out with her nonetheless.

Another guy, let's call him Keoni. Keoni is the sweetest boy ever! He's so sweet, he's on my table, with two boys we'll call Ruben and Hugo.

Hugo and Ruben are okay, Ruben is super sweet too. But Keoni is sweeter than both of them combined! He always helps me, telling the other kids to keep down their voices when it gets too loud. He always includes me, which not many people in my previous classes did very much of. So, thank you Keoni!

But, I did something awesome yesterday! I ordered my lunch myself for the very first time! Basically, you have to go down to the cafeteria and order your lunch, but every time I've tried, I've had panic attacks at the level of noise. (I swear, I must have some kind of sensory issues or possible autism or something) but I'm so happy! Yay!

But I thank another girl let's call her Hildegard. Hildegard didn't do sports with me, so she stayed to keep me company, thank you Hildegard! I owe you! XD

Also, I'm doing a Children In Need project with my college! I'm doing a treasure hunt activity! Organising it and stuff, along with Hugo and Clover. I'm so excited for that lol, the organisation we're doing it for means a lot to me personally.

But overall, the last few days before I broke up for a week were not fun... our teacher had to speak to the majority of the class about their behaviour yesterday, and I know for a fact they won't stick to being calm, but I know they can't help it. But I'm so excited for this week off, that means I can finish this goddamn story! Hallelujah!

Speaking of, let's talk about it shall we?

Jimmy and Carl got together! Yeee! I'm so goddamn happy about that! I shipped both of them since I started watching the series, I love the childhood friends trope XD

Don't get me wrong I love Jimmy and Cindy, I love them! But I have a really really really really really special place in my heart for Jimmy X Carl. There's just something so pure about their relationship that I love, it's so sweet, so adorable! I don't know how Rob Paulson and Debi Derryberry would feel about it however. But I'll never find that out lol.

The bisexualness is dripping from them lmfao. I love them so much!

This chapter is probably one of my favourites I've written in a while, as it deals with something that relates to a lot of people, especially people living in foster homes. Now, I've never lived in a foster home, thankfully, but I've heard from people that do, that it really isn't nice sometimes. Luckily for Sparkle and Carl Lila does in fact love them, Lila understands that this is a big change for them, so she doesn't pressure them and force them to do things they don't want. Which is awesome! Ask. For. Consent. People. Never ever force yourself to do something if you're not comfortable. :)

There's a reference to Leela in this chapter, I got a review from her recently where she empathised with me about how my situation is going, and she told me that she's struggling with her own personal situation right now. So, if she can spot it, yay!

Also, yes, sparkle and myself age regress sometimes... It means to mentally retreat to an earlier age. Also referred to as littlespace.

It's a coping mechanism to deal with stress, which for me, is happening a lot more in college then I'd like, so I regress to help alleviate some of that sometimes, some people talk younger than they actually are (which is what sparkle does) but I do not. I like to watch simpler childhood cartoons when I regress, like, pajanimals, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First. Sometimes I watch them when I feel okay and don't need to regress, sometimes I just watch them because I like them and they make me happy.

But yeah, if you're confused at the specific scene that little sparkle appears in, she's regressed and her family knows about it. Her therapist recommended it actually, Dr Scratchansniff. (But for me personally, I've always known what littlespace is, truthfully I thought it was weird at first, but it really does help)

But yeah, that's been going on in my life, and I'm so excited for you guys to see the wedding next chapter! You guys are gonna love it, also search for 'Songs for my Brinky wedding fanfic *don't ask*' which has all the songs that will be featured in the wedding chapter, that way you guys can sing along! Yay!

But I'll see you guys then, bye!
