Answering the knock at the Abbott front door, Jack was surprised at the identity of his visitor. "Diane," Jack said.

"Hi Jack," Diane said. Jack stood in the doorway, prompting Diane to say, "May I come in?"

Jack stepped aside, as Diane stepped inside. "Forgive me for being blunt," Jack started, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm sorry to come unexpectedly," Diane said, "I know I said, I would wait to hear from Kyle, but I'm so anxious to see him again. I hope nothing is wrong, that is holding him up from talking to me."

"Kyle, has a very busy life," Jack said, "He has other things to deal with besides you."

"I know, he's a successful business man," Diane said, "If he wanted to see me, he would have contacted me by now. Have I lost my chance to reconnect with him?"

"You would have to ask him," Jack said, "Any decisions Kyle makes are fully up to him."

"Of course," Diane said, "Does Kyle happen to be here?"

Distant laughter could be heard, from outside the back of the house, the sound peppered by happy voices.

"Sounds like we are missing all the fun," Diane said. Jack was quiet, so Diane said, "Is that Kyle outside?"

"My granddaughter is enjoying some pool time with her parents," Jack said.

"The baby is out there too?" Diane smiled.

"She's not really a baby anymore," Jack said, "She just had her first birthday."

"Do you think it would be okay if I went out there?" Diane said, "I would love to see Kyle and meet my granddaughter."

Wrapping Diana in a towel, Rachel said, "She sure loves the water."

"We have a future Olympian in our midst," Kyle said, "I can't wait until we can enroll her in swimming lessons."

"One day at a time," Rachel said.

Diana reached out for Kyle, so he took her into his arms saying, "Gold medalist Diana J. Abbott, in her flying debut." Kyle lay her across his arms as he proceeded to move around, to simulate her flying.

Rachel laughed at Diana's shrieks of delight, the sight of Kyle's closeness with his daughter, warmed her heart.

"And she comes in for a landing…" Kyle said, flying her towards Rachel, when Kyle noticed her lose her smile, looking past him.

Turning around Kyle paused at the sight of Jack, followed by his mother.

Diane lost her own smile, as Kyle said, "What are you doing here?"

"I don't meant to intrude," Diane said, "I know, I said I would give you some space."

"Yes, you did," Kyle said.

"I got anxious waiting to hear from you," Diane said.

"I was going to get in touch with you in the next couple of days," Kyle said.

"Of course, I realize you have a lot on your plate," Diane said. Spying the child in Kyle's arms, Diane continued, "Is this who I think it is? May I...?"

Diane was cut off as Rachel walked over and took Diana out of Kyle's arms. "I should take her inside and change her," Rachel said.

"Oh, may I see her?" Diane said.

"I don't think so," Rachel said.

"You must be Rachel," Diane said, "I'm…"

"I know who you are," Rachel said.

"We have met before," Diane mused, "You look familiar."

"That was probably my sister Susan," Rachel said.

"Yes, that's right, Susan had a sister," Diane said, "I hope she's keeping well."

"She's passed on," Rachel said.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Diane said, "From what I remember, she was a lovely woman."

"Yes, she was," Rachel said.

"Since I'm here, could I see the little one?" Diane said.

"I should change her, I don't want her to catch a chill," Rachel said.

"There's no harm if my mother wants to see her," Kyle said.

Kyle lifted the child out of Rachel's arms as Rachel protested, "I don't think…"

Turning back to his mother, Kyle said, "Mom, meet Diana Abbott."

Diane had a big smile as she said, "Hi sweetheart. Aren't you adorable." Holding out her hand, Diana took hold of her index finger, as Diane continued, "Hi Diana. We have similar names, I'm Diane. I hope to spend a lot of time with you."

Addressing Kyle, Diane said, "She's so precious. You have a wonderful daughter."

"She's the most important thing to us," Kyle said.

"It warms my heart to know you named her after me," Diane said.

"She's name after Dina too," Rachel said.

"Of course, that's a lovely tribute to Dina," Diane said. Holding out her arms, Diane said, "May I?"

"Kyle…" Rachel sternly said, her opposition clear.

"Diana just got out of the pool, she's pretty wet," Kyle said.

"I don't mind," Diane said.

"Not today," Rachel said.

"Maybe another time would be better," Kyle said.

"Certainly," Diane said, "It was nice to meet you."

Taking Diana from Kyle, Rachel said "I'm going to take her inside and change."

As Rachel walked away, Kyle realized he was still wearing just his swim trunks, prompting him to pull on a nearby sleeveless top.

"You don't have to be modest on my account," Diane said, "Since I'm here, could we talk?"

"Diane, I think it might be time for you to go," Jack said.

"No, it's okay," Kyle said, "I can talk."

"Then I will give you some privacy," Jack said, stepping inside.

"Thank you for agreeing to see me," Diane said.

"You're here now, makes sense to have our talk," Kyle said.

"You have such a precious little girl," Diane said, "You must be so proud."

"I am," Kyle said.

"Her mother on the other hand, seems a little hostile towards me," Diane said.

"Rachel wants the same thing I do, to protect Diana," Kyle said, "She is not sure she can trust you. To be honest I'm not sure either."

"I understand," Diane said, "But please be assured I would never do anything to hurt that sweet little one. That goes for you too."

"You can understand our hesitancy," Kyle said, "We weren't expecting to have you in our lives. My goal is to protect Diana and Rachel from harm."

"I understood Rachel is your ex-wife," Diane said, "It seems she is still important to you."

"Just because we divorced, doesn't mean we don't still care about each other," Kyle said.

"You seem very fond of Rachel," Diane said, "Spending time with her and your child today. Are you maybe, getting back together?"

"We haven't even talked about anything like that," Kyle said, "We enjoy each other's company."

"If you have feelings for her, you shouldn't wait to tell her," Diane said.

"Did you come here to give me relationship advice?" Kyle said.

"No, I just want you to be happy," Diane said, "However, I will stop meddling."

"I would appreciate it," Kyle said.

"I can hear the hostility you have towards me too," Diane said.

"Can you blame me?" Kyle said, "I don't mean to be harsh, this is all new for me."

"And for me," Diane said, "I just want to get to know you better and hopefully build a foundation for us to become close, like a mother and son should be."

"Maybe you should have thought about that, before you walked away," Kyle said.

"I deserve that," Diane said, "Perhaps, this isn't the best time to talk. I should go."

Diane turned to leave, when Kyle called her back. "Wait, I'm sorry," Kyle said, "I don't mean to send you away."

"Kyle, do you want me in your life?" Diane said, "I know I said I wouldn't push you into making a decision, but I do still love you and I want to be your mother again."

"I have been thinking a lot about this," Kyle said, "I've talked it out with people close to me and come to realize, if you went away again…I would miss you. I am still not sure if I can trust you, however I am willing to give you a chance to prove that you can be. I really hope you are sincere about re-building our relationship, because I would like the same thing."

"Oh, Kyle," Diane beamed, "I'm so happy you feel this way."

"This is only a chance," Kyle said.

"Yes, of course," Diane said, "Maybe we could spend some time together, take Diana to the park. I would like to get to know her better and Rachel too. Possibly, I can change her mind about me."

"We will see," Kyle said, "I'll be in touch when can get together."

"This means so much to me," Diane said, "I won't let you down again."

Kyle sat on the outside patio, deep in thought when Rachel walked over. "It's shaping up to be a nice evening again," Rachel said, "We should enjoy them, there won't be too many more."

Not getting a response, Rachel said, "Kyle?"

Pulled back to reality, Kyle looked at her and said, "What?"

"Your mind was somewhere else," Rachel said, "I'm sure I know what you were thinking about."

"My Mom's unexpected visit," Kyle said.

"I assume she's left now," Rachel said.

"Yes, it was awkward, but she did get the hint and didn't stay too long," Kyle said.

"I'm sorry this is so hard for you," Rachel said.

"That's putting it mildly," Kyle said, "Where's Diana?"

"She is spending some quality reading time with Grandpa," Rachel said, "Although I'm not sure who is reading to whom."

Kyle chuckled. "Her words are coming along."

"They sure are," Rachel said, "She will be talking up a storm in no time."

"I know what people mean now, when they say they grow up fast," Kyle said.

"It's fascinating to see her grow up, but I miss the little baby she was just a year ago," Rachel said.

"I couldn't get over how tiny she was," Kyle said, "This little person, just beginning."

"It was an incredible time," Rachel said.

Kyle fell silent again, prompting Rachel to say, "Did I lose you to your daydream again?"

"No, it's just something that my Mom said, it stuck with me," Kyle said.

"Oh, no, what did she say this time?" Rachel said.

"Nothing bad," Kyle said, "It was about you and me."

"What about us?" Rachel said.

"I don't know how you will feel about this if I say it out loud," Kyle said.

"Just tell me," Rachel said.

"She asked me if you and I were getting back together," Kyle said.

"What…what did you tell her?" Rachel said.

"The truth, that we haven't really talked about it," Kyle said, "I was thinking maybe we should?"

"You want to get back together?" Rachel said.

"We don't have to rush into anything," Kyle said, "But I can't deny I really like being with you and if we have feelings for each other we should get it out in the open."

"You have feelings for me?" Rachel said.

"You can't tell me you don't have them too," Kyle said, "Not after that kiss we shared the other night."

"Kyle, I really don't know what to say," Rachel said.

Taking her hand and leading to her to sit with him, Kyle said, "I need you to tell me how you feel."

Rachel hesitated, before she said, "Yes, I have feelings for you, things I haven't felt in a long time. I really like spending time with you. Whether it's you and me or us and Diana as a family, it's what I want."

Keeping hold of her hand, Kyle said, "We want the same things. All I am asking you is to try. To be together and maybe throw in a kiss here and there." He gave her that sly smile, that always got to her.

"That would be nice," Rachel said, with a shy laugh.

"I know we rushed everything last time and maybe that's why it didn't last," Kyle said, "We can take it slow and enjoy it, day by day. What do you think?"

"I like this plan of yours," Rachel said, "I'm willing to try with us."

Kyle smiled and said, "I feel like we should seal this with one of those kisses we were talking about."

"Oh, you do, do you?" Rachel said.

"I think it would be appro…" Kyle was cut off, as Rachel pulled him into an embrace.

Rachel momentarily closed her eyes in contentment, as she lay in Kyle's arms, sharing a lounge chair, watching the approaching dusk.

"You know, so far I'm liking this arrangement of ours," Kyle said.

"It's nice being with you like this," Rachel said, "I had almost forgotten how good it feels, to be this close to you."

"For me too," Kyle said, "I have an interesting idea."

"Do I want to know?" Rachel said.

"I think you and I should go on a date," Kyle said

"A date night?" Rachel said.

"How about a wedding?" Kyle said.

"You…what?" Rachel said, sitting more upright to look at him.

Kyle started laughing as he said, "You misunderstood me. I'm asking you to be my date at Mariah and Tessa's wedding tomorrow."

"Oh, that wedding," Rachel said, breathing a sigh of relief, while Kyle continued to laugh.

Rachel snuggled back with Kyle, as he said, "Sorry, did I shock you?"

"A little bit," Rachel said.

"Then again we could ask Mariah and Tessa, if they mind that we make a double ceremony," Kyle teased.

Slapping him on the chest, Rachel said, "I forgot about that sense of humor, before agreeing to get back together."

"You can't back out now," Kyle said, "You're stuck with me."

"Good," Rachel said, as her and Kyle began to kiss.

"I think I left them out here," Diane's voice startled the night, causing Kyle and Rachel to jump up from their position.

Jack was behind her and realizing they had interrupted, Diane said, "Oh, I'm sorry!"

"Mom, I thought you left," Kyle said.

"I did…I forgot my….glasses," Diane said, locating them on the table.

"Sorry, to interrupt," Jack said, trying to hide his smile.

"I'm leaving," Diane said, "Carry on."

Once they disappeared, Kyle sighed a laugh and said, "Nothing like getting busted by your parents."

Rachel laughed and said, "Speaking of parents, we should get Diana to bed."

"Good idea," Kyle said. Offering his hand to help her stand, he put his arm around her as they walked into the house.

Fen straightened his tie as he checked himself in the mirror. "Okay," he said with a nod.

The knocking on his apartment door, sent him to open it, staring at the vision on the other side.

"Wow, double wow," Fen said.

"I take you like my gown," Summer said.

"Breathtaking," Fen said, "Come in." He stepped aside, not able to take his eyes off her.

"You look pretty dapper yourself," Summer said.

"Wait a second, I was going to pick you up," Fen said.

"I know," Summer said, "I was ready early and I thought I would surprise you."

"You succeeded," Fen said.

"Plus I had a question for you," Summer said.

"Which is?" Fen said.

"Why am I going to this wedding?" Summer said.

"Because it's family and you were invited," Fen said.

"Mariah and I are not exactly close," Summer said, "They invited you because you worked with Tessa."

"Maybe it's time to bury the hatchet between you two," Fen said.

"I know where she would like to bury it," Summer said.

"You will have a good time," Fen said.

"Give me another reason to go," Summer said.

"I will be there and you can dance with me," Fen smiled, "Besides this kind of beauty needs to be showcased."

Knocking on Rachel's front door Kyle called, "It's the minister to pick up the most beautiful woman in the world."

The front door opened and Susie said, "Aw, that's sweet, but I'm not ready yet."

"I expected your Mom to open the door," Kyle said.

"She's doing some finishing touches," Susie said, "Come in."

"Aren't you going to the wedding?" Kyle said.

"No, I don't know them that well," Susie said, "But it doesn't matter this way I can babysit Diana."

"You are?" Kyle said, "Alone?"

"Yes, it's fine," Susie said.

"How much experience do you have looking after a toddler?" Kyle said.

"I've watched her lots of times," Susie said.

"During the day with someone around," Kyle said.

"Traci is two feet away if I need anything," Susie said.

"She's been trying to convince me all day that this is a good idea," Rachel said. Noticing how Kyle was staring at her, she said, "What?"

"I knew you would look beautiful, but this is stunning," Kyle said.

"Thank you Mr. Minister," Rachel said, "You look very handsome yourself."

"So go, have fun," Susie said.

"I'm not too comfortable with this," Kyle said, "You are only 15."

"Fifteen and a half," Susie corrected, "Nothing is going to happen to Diana. I don't need a babysitter, therefore I am old enough to babysit."

"Traci is next door," Rachel said, "I'm sure it will be okay. Susie, you just make sure you lock the door and don't hesitate to call Traci or one of us if you need to."

"Got it," Susie said, "Don't worry."

Offering Rachel his arm, Kyle said, "Miss?"

"Why thank you," Rachel smiled, linking with his arm.

As they left the house, Kyle and Rachel were met with a young man, standing outside the door.

Instinctively pushing Rachel behind him, Kyle said, "Can I help you?"

"No sir," the young man fidgeted.

"What do you want?" Kyle said.

"Nothing, I'm just stopping by," the young man said.

Noticing the boy was her daughter's age, Rachel said, "Susie!"

Susie appeared, her mother gesturing to the boy, Rachel said, "Do you know anything about this?"

"Well, I…" Susie stammered.

"I think it's time for you to go," Kyle said, pointing the way out to the young man.

"See you around Suz," the young man said.

"Sorry Karl," Susie said, as he turned to leave with a sigh.

Kyle shut the door, as Rachel said, "So this is why you wanted to babysit so badly, so you could be alone with a boy?"

"You are supposed to be watching Diana, not making out with some boy," Kyle said.

"Kyle…" Susie said embarrassed.

"Am I wrong?" Kyle said.

"Give me your phone," Rachel said.

"What?" Susie said.

"No phone, it's you punishment for trying to deceive us," Rachel said.

"That's not fair," Susie protested.

"What's not fair is that you put what you wanted, ahead of the needs of your little sister," Kyle said.

Susie stared at Kyle in shock, he had never tried to discipline her before. "You can't tell me what to do," Susie snapped, immediately regretting the words, when she saw the looks on their faces.

"He most certainly can," Rachel said.

"Especially when it comes to Diana!" Kyle said. Susie had almost forgotten Kyle was the father in this scenario.

"You apologize," Rachel sternly said.

"Sorry," Susie meekly said. She turned away sniffing back tears.

"Kyle, you have to be at this wedding, I will stay home," Rachel said, "It's obvious I can't trust my daughter to be alone."

"I have a better idea," Kyle said.

"Wow, what a great job with the decorations," Chloe smiled, as she and Kevin arrived at wedding venue.

"Should be a great event," Kevin said.

"You know, you will be the most handsome one in the wedding party," Chloe said.

"I know," Kevin smirked, "But I have the most beautiful date."

"I know," Chloe smiled.

"Ah, the first ones here," Faith said, rushing over, "Mariah will be so relieved."

"She knows I wouldn't let her down," Kevin said.

"Isn't Susie here?" Faith said.

"She decided to babysit her sister tonight," Kevin said.

"Oh, I thought she told me she wanted to come," Faith said.

"I guess she changed her mind," Chloe said.

"Whatever," Faith shrugged, "Food and drinks are over there, go mingle."

"You said we were first here," Kevin said, "Who are we supposed to mingle with?"

"Will we do?" Fen said, arriving with Summer on his arm.

"Summer, what a beautiful gown," Chloe said, "You look lovely."

"Doesn't she," Fen beamed.

"Thank you," Summer said, "Your dress is wonderful too."

"This '70's theme is kind of fun," Chloe said.

Focusing on Fen, Kevin said, "Are you sure you have enough grease in that hair?"

"It's the '70's," Fen said, "I had to slick it back."

"Yes, but this is wedding, not a rumble," Kevin said.

"This looks like the right place," Austin said, arriving with Lola on his arm.

"What a beautiful setting," Lola said.

"Austin!" Faith said, rushing over, "Thank goodness you're here."

"We missed you too Faith," Austin said.

"Tessa is a nervous wreck and she wants to see you before the ceremony," Faith said.

"Lead the way," Austin said.

"Dad," Summer said, spotting her father.

"Summer, my beautiful girl," Nick said.

"You know this is a celebration," Summer said, "Yet you are standing here by yourself."

"I was just waiting for Sharon," Nick said, "She's in with Mariah."

"Did you come together?" Summer said.

"Don't go reading too much into things," Nick said, "Mariah is Sharon's daughter and she's always been like one to me too."

"If you say so," Summer said.

"Where is your date?" Nick said.

"Who says I have one?" Summer teased.

"I know you would have no issue finding someone to attend with you," Nick said.

"He's right over there," Summer said, gesturing to Fen, who was busy retrieving drinks.

"Baldwin?" Nick said, "That thing is back on?"

"Nothing is back on," Summer said, "We are just friends."

"Good, because he looks like he got caught in an oil spill with that hair," Nick said.

"Dad…" Summer said, shaking her head.

Spotting Sharon, Nick said, "Ah. How is she doing?"

"Well, Mariah is nervous and excited," Sharon said, "She got me feeling the same way."

"Why is there no minister?" Faith exclaimed, her arms spread apart in the middle of the room.

"I'm sure he's on his way," Sharon said.

"It had better be soon," Faith said.

"Is now, soon enough?" Nick said, spotting Kyle walk in, with Rachel on his arm.

Chloe noticed Kevin's gaze was fixated on the entranceway, where Rachel had walked in. "Whoa," he said.

"Rachel looks lovely," Chloe said.

"Sure does," Kevin smiled. Chloe shifted uncomfortably, next to her husband.

"Are you nervous?" Rachel said.

"I wasn't until I walked in and saw all these people," Kyle said.

"You will do fine," Rachel said.

"You look fabulous," Fen said, walking over to Rachel.

"She sure does," Kevin said, appearing by her side.

"Thank you gentlemen, but I am not the one you should be focused on today," Rachel said.

"That's an interesting look you've got going on there Baldwin," Kyle said.

"It's the slick look," Fen said.

"Of course," Kyle smirked, "It's actually more '50's or '60's, but okay."

"How would you know?" Fen said.

"Clearly you don't," Kyle said.

"I forgot, Kyle knows everything," Fen said.

"That's Minister Abbott to you," Kyle said.

"He's only been reminding me of that all the way over here," Rachel said. She patted Kyle's arm and continued, "It's nice to see it hasn't gone to his head."

"Austin," Lola said, spotting her husband, "How is Tessa?"

"On top of the world," Austin said.

"Of course she is," Lola smiled, "About to marry the partner of her dreams."

"Okay, Kyle, Kevin," Faith said, "You need to take your places."

"See you afterwards," Kyle said, giving Rachel a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Did you see that?" Lola said.

"What?" Austin said,

"Kyle kissing Rachel," Lola said, "I thought he was with Summer. What was that about?"

"Maybe Kyle and Rachel are back together," Austin said.

"That's not worrisome at all," Lola said.
