Tony rushed around the Lab. The whole complex was in a rush as Reports came flooding in about captain Rogers and Sam Wilson engaging with a sniper over in Sokovia. Ross had gotten the UN to green light an Avenger mission to go to Sokovia.

Now Vision and Rhody were helping to load up the Quinjet as slowly as possible to give their old friends enough time to leave. Sadly, Tony was unsure of this decision as he was positive that the sniper was the young man he had recruited. He had wanted to rush to the city and bring him home.

Nora had even begged him to run over and get her son back. It wasn't until Rhody pointed out that the boy had made some very powerful enemies since his disappearance that Tony slowed down. Rhody was right, he had killed Ross's daughter, fury's men and even Happy himself now that he was reminded of it.

His heart broke at the thought of the young man being forced to do these vicious acts. These thoughts plagued his mind as the Quinjet took off, Rhody in the pilot's seat. About 2 hours into their flight, they received a call from Ross.

"We have a problem on the ground." His voice rang out over the intercom. Everyone's attention was instantly grabbed. Everyone thought that their old teammates had escaped and that Ross had lost the trail. "The city of Novi Grad, or what remains of it, have become blocked by some unknown force."

Tony looked confused and Vision wasn't too different from his creator. "Like a forcefield?" Rhody asked into the comm.

"We don't know." Ross gruff voice came back. "United Nations are deploying forces to the area. The rest of Sokovia is trying to deny entry but with the majority of their military in the city, they can't do anything about it. Once you get here report to the forward operating base outside the city limits. Coordinates should be sent your way shortly, hurry over." With the orders given, he hung up leaving the team of three in silence.

It took a couple more hours to reach the border of Sokovia. Once they did, the United Nations hailed them and they were directed to a landing zone. The area around them was a flutter of activity. Men and women ran around in a flurry of activity. Tony exited the Iron man suit and picked up the suitcase it formed into. Vision glanced at the city before them, and tiled his head in confusion.

Tony couldn't blame him. The city looked positively peaceful from here. Of course, that peaceful picture shattered when one realized there was no movement or sound coming from the city. Even with how poor Sokovia was, the city should have produced a cacophony of noise. Instead, it was as silent as a graveyard.

When Tony walked a little closer, he noticed a shimmer run across his field of Vision. People were setting up light towers around the shimmer. Setting up barricades and other equipment to monitor the situation and keep people out. Turning around he noticed a protest forming. Natives, crying out as American troops held them back.

A woman walked up to them in the standard uniform of the United Nations. "If you could all follow me, Secretary Ross is waiting for you." Rhody motioned her forward and the three Avengers followed her into a large Structure.

Inside people were sitting at Monitors, taking stock of the situation. People were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Rolling his eyes, he took a moment to compose himself, he had a job to do and that was bringing that kid home.

Shaking his head, he looked back around the room and noticed Ross looking over a report. To Tony's pleasure, he looked stressed and annoyed. The man deserved it for all he was concerned. "Good of you to finally join us." Ross stated as he moved to the Avengers. "We have a serious problem on our hands."

"Does this problem have to do with whatever energy field is surrounding the city?" Tony asked as he continued to look around the room at the various screens.

Ross glowered at Tony before nodding his head. "As a matter of fact, Stark, it does. As you all know, we received reports of Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff and Sam Wilson engaging an unknown gunman. Examining the footage, we have determined that this gunman was in fact your newest recruit. The Same one who killed my daughter and many others earlier this year."

"What footage is this?" Tony interrupted.

Ross glared at him again but chose to ignore the insufferable billionaire. "As I was saying, the footage suddenly cuts out and shortly after reports of the City of Novi Grad disappearing came in. When we arrived, Civilians were already on scene and attempting to gain access to the city. We quickly formed a perimeter and have since sent in drones. All of which have stopped responding as soon as they cross the barrier."

"Sir?" Rhody gets his attention. "We only found out about this a few hours ago, how have you done all this so quickly?"

Ross nodded his head at his respect. "With UN forces already in Sokovia, the security council granted me command of these forces, hence our quick response time. Sadly, we have missing men within the barrier. We have been unable to locate or contact them."

"So, what are you doing about it?" Tony interrupted again.

Ross sighed. "We have gathered specialists in the area to try and figure out what is going on inside the barrier. Right now, they are all trying to use their field of expertise to give us an edge in this situation."

"So, what do you want us to do?" Rhody asked before Tony could open his mouth. As far as he was concerned, they couldn't do anything at the moment especially with that barrier up.

Ross grimaced. "Right now, I want you all on standby. Ready to go as soon as we learn anything about this." Tony scoffed but otherwise kept his mouth shut. He would do his own personal research into this and eventually save the kid.

The next few days were relatively boring, or as boring as things can get on a military staging area investigating an unknown barrier trapping an entire city.

"I got it!" A woman shouted. It had been a few days since Tony and company arrived and they were once again talking with Ross in the command center. Turning, they noticed a woman had her arms up in victory as she looked upon a screen. On that screen seemed to be an old black and white show playing. Vision jolted as he noticed Wanda on the screen wearing old 1960 attire.

"What do you have Ms. Lewis?" Ross asked as they all walked over.

Hearing her name, the woman turned around and noticed the Avengers and Ross looking at her. Lowering her hands in embarrassment she smiled nervously. "What's up everyone."

Tony huffed in amusement as did Rhody. Vision smirked in amusement as Ross rubbed his forehead. "What are you watching?" Ross asked, clearly exasperated.

"Oh, that is the weird thing. This is the signal coming from the dome. It's some old sitcom starring Wanda and this guy that went missing after the whole airport fiasco." Darcy moved aside so they could all watch the screen as Rob and Wanda kissed in the opening.

Tony and Rhody were flabbergasted as they watched the show play out. Apparently, something about a town talent show raising money for a school. Vision however experienced something he never felt before. A pain in his system as he watched how affectionate Wanda was with this man.

"I want everyone on this. Start identifying people in whatever this is. And send in more drones. I want to know exactly what this is before we send in the big guns." Ross started barking out orders.

With nothing left to do, Darcy and the remaining Avengers continued watching the show. Another hour later and everyone was shocked when Wanda became nine months pregnant in a few seconds. Of course, they all noticed the small lapses in Rob's demeaner while everything played out. Wanda's were fewer but just as profound. And when Natasha was on screen, everyone freaked out at how normal she was. Seeing all their old friends playing normal everyday people freaked them out a bit as everything was just so pedestrian.

Eventually the broadcast just started replaying previous episodes. Calling it a night they all agreed to see if anything changed in the morning. The next day a new episode aired and everyone theorized that a new episode would air every day. Counting the episodes seemed to confirm the theory and they sat down to enjoy the show as Ross tried over and over again to get some kind of eyes inside the red dome.

Shorter than I wanted it but I would rather get back to the show and Wanda. Hope you enjoy this insight into the outside world. Probably won't do one again until the hex is gone. Anyway moving on with the story now so let me know what you think.
