Bella's eyes drifted open but was surprised to not see the walls of her makeshift bedroom at Sam's house. She scanned her surroundings and was surprised to find herself in Jake's bedroom. She felt off kilter. The room was familiar, but felt different, like she had forgotten something important. Shaking her head she slowly eased herself off the side of Jakes bed and stretched her back. She ran a soothing hand across her belly and smiled when she felt the soft fluttering beneath her hand.

Soft sounds emanated from the kitchen and Bella groaned. She prayed Jake wasn't trying to cook again, she did not have the energy to put out any grease fires. She padded her way slowly to the kitchen and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Please tell me you're not setting fire to the house again." She laughed as she rounded the corner into the kitchen. Her laughter died in her throat and her feet rooted to the ground. Her hands flew, one to her mouth and the other to her belly.

There standing five feet away was a face she never thought she would see again. A sob tore from her throat as bright eyes and a soft smile greeted her. "Hello baby girl. I've missed you." Her knees shook and her eyes darted around. "How… but you're…oh god." Before her brain could process her actions she was flying across the kitchen and into the arms of the only mother she had ever known. "Sarah." She sobbed. Her hands fluttered everywhere, feeling the solid body and pulling her close. "Shhh. It's okay honey. It's okay." The soothing words pulled more sobs from her throat.

"Oh god Sarah. What is this? Is this real? Am I…am I dead?" Bella's hands flew down to her own belly again.

"No. No baby you're not dead."

"I don't understand. Is this real or is this all in my head?"

Sarah smirked. "Of course this is all in your head Bella, but that doesn't mean it's not real."

Bella gaped and a laugh burst out of her. "Did you just quote Harry Potter?"

Sarah laughed. "Hey, us dead folks like to read too ya know." She winked.

Bella fell into a kitchen chair. "I'm crazy. That's it. I've lost my mind."

Sarah laughed again and sat down beside her.

"You're not crazy Bella. I wish I could explain it all, but honestly I'm not sure how much time they're giving me, and there is a lot we need to talk about." She grabbed Bella's hands and rubbed soothing circles on them.

"Them? Who's 'them'?" Bella asked.

"Oh you know. God, the sprits, The Powers that Be." They go by a lot of names down here she winked.

Bella nodded numbly. Sarah pulled her into another hug. "First, I need to tell you how incredibly proud I am of you. You have grown into such a beautiful woman. We don't see everything, from where we are, but we do get to see the important stuff." She smiled and then rested her hand gently on Bella's belly. "I can't believe I'm going to be a grandma. I'm much too young for that." She laughed and winked.

Bella laughed but it came out like a sob. "I'm so sorry Sarah. I'm so sorry that mom kept me away from you. I missed you so much."

"Oh Belly-boo, you have nothing to be sorry for." Bella's eyes brightened at the nickname. God she had missed hearing that.

"Bella. I know this is hard for you and I'm so sorry. If there was another way we would have done it, but with the chaos in the pack right now this was our best option. We needed to step in and your gifts made you the best choice."

Bella blinked. "Gifts? What do you mean?"

"You don't even realize how special you are, do you?" Sarah's eyes crinkled at the corners and Bella tried to burn the image into her memory.

"But I'm just an ordinary human," Bella hummed "There's nothing special about me."

Sarah lifted both hands and grabbed Bella's cheeks. "Oh my girl. You are so much more than ordinary. Bella, from the moment I held you in my arms just after you were born, I have known that you would do extraordinary things." Sarah gently wiped the tears from Bella's face.

"You see, when I was young my mother took me to see an old medicine woman, her name was Halona. I had been having dreams. Dreams that no one could explain. I would wake up and know things. I would know things that I had no way of knowing. She called it "the sight". As I got older it got easier to interpret my dreams and sometimes even awake I would get these… feelings. I would get a feeling about something or someone and just know what was going to happen."

Bella scrunched her brow.

"Have you ever had this kind of dream Bella? Dreams that you couldn't explain, but when you woke you knew them to be true?" Sarah's eyes were deep with understanding.

"I…my dad. I dreamed about him, I knew something was wrong." Bella's voice shook and Sarah nodded. "And I dream about the wolves. I had dreams about Sam and Paul."

Sarah sat up straighter. "Good, Bella, good. This is important. I need you to think for me, have you had dreams about what's coming? Have you had more dreams about the wolves?"

Bella thought hard and shook her head. Sarah sighed.

"Okay, that's okay. It will come. I'm sure of it."

"But what does it mean Sarah? Why would I get these dreams? What can I do?"

"I know this is scary love. I know you worry so much about the pack, about our boys, but you have to have faith in yourself. You have to trust in your strength. You have such a large heart darling, and that heart and the love you hold in it is what will bring unity and strength to the wolves."

Bella was silent for a moment.

"Did…did you know? What was coming for you?" Bella asked quietly.

"Mmm.." Sarah hummed. "I knew that my time on Earth was short. I knew that I would have to leave you all behind, just as I know that my time with you now is nearing an end." She stroked Bella's hair.

A sob caught in Bella's throat. "Will I see you again?" She asked.

"Hopefully not for a very long time, my love. You have many things left to do in this life."

Bella nodded. "Do you know what's coming? Are we all going to be okay?"

"I have only seen glimpses of what is to come. I can only tell you that you, and my granddaughter have many years of smiling to do."

Bella gasped and dropped a hand to her stomach. "A girl? She's a girl?"

Sarah nodded and placed her hand on top of Bellas. She leaned down and whispered quietly to the baby. Bella could not make out the words.

A fine haze started to creep along the room and Bella felt herself begin to grow tired.

"No," she cried. "I'm not ready to say goodbye, not yet."

"Oh my girl, it's not goodbye. It's only see you later." Sarah smiled and hugged her closed. "Please Bella, tell Jacob I am so very proud of him and that I love him dearly." Bella nodded.

"And tell Billy…" Sarah's voice cracked. "Tell him… that what he's been searching for is in a shoebox in his closet. The box is marked as "Important Things"." Bella nodded again and wrapped her arms tightly around Sarah. "Please tell my Dad that I miss him. That I love him so much."

"Oh Belly-boo, your dad is never far away, and he is always watching over you." She pulled back and winked, "make sure to tell Paul to keep that in mind." Laughter burst through Bella and with a jolt she was back in her bedroom.

Her jerking movements had Paul sitting up quickly and as sobs wracked through her body, he wrapped her tightly in his arms.
