I do not own Terminator: Genisys.

But everyone needs a hobby and this one's mine. ;)

The Terminator and The Little Girl

Sarah Conner, Age 13

"Umm, Pops, I don't think I can do this."

"The procedure is very simple, Sarah Conner."

"Yeah, I know, but it's like . . . can't I practice on a pillow? Or a banana? Or a bag of beans or something?"

Sarah Conner, unprepared trauma surgeon , stands horrified, frozen solid.

And totally . . .

"A bag of beans is not an acceptable substitute for human flesh, Sarah Conner."

. . . grossed out.

"Yeah, I know, Pops."

He has cut his arm, cut his arm, and is now steadily bleeding all over the towel he had her lay down beforehand.

"You must learn standard first aid skills, Sarah Conner. It is essential to your survival."

"Yeah, I know, Pops."

"But won't it, like, hurt, Pops?" she had asked.

"I can sense injuries. The data could be called 'pain'."

And then, he had just, like, done it.

Cut his arm.

"Pops! Oh my gosh-"

And blood had welled up.

"Don't worry, Sarah Conner, it is only deep enough to require two or three stitches."

And she had been terrified.

"Pops! There's so much blood!"

And she had realized . . .

Oh my god, what if something happens to him?!

. . . just how scared she was of losing him.

I'll be all alone and-

"Sarah Conner," he had intoned, could it have possibly been 'gently'. "You must do this."

And then . . .

"Take the needle and the thread."

She bit down on another pleading 'Pops'.

And with her stomach churning and teeth gritted, picked up the surgical needle and thread.

"Push the needle through the skin at a 90-degree angle one centimeter to the right of the wound."

"Where?"

"Here."

She did her best.

Her best was awful.

But she didn't throw up, she didn't pass out.

And she didn't . . .

"You will need more practice, Sarah Conner. Improper suturing can cause wound complications such as infection, improper healing, circulation issues, or puffy, broad, or dark scars."

. . . quit.

"We will try again tomorrow."

"Yippee."

If I don't get good real quick, he's gonna end up looking like Frankenstein.

I'm in a hospital room with my husband the gallbladder man.

So, there's that.

Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing anyone who is out there. :)
