And so years upon years flew by. His own patience was great, perhaps, far too great. The sacrifices needed were extraordinary, yet he lay in wait. Only when every Nation had begun to adopt his creations…did he begin the purge of Humanity. So great was it that smaller Nations toppled within hours, larger ones taking days, and world-powers suffering greatly. Yet, it's all he wanted to know, needed to know.
Humanity was not worthy of his crutches…and so began the next phase of his great plan…
I don't think I can begin to explain the rest I got after what happened yesterday. It was…so comforting, so relaxing,…it felt like heaven almost as soon as I slammed into bed. Hell, this weird ass uniform I put on before heading out to that island? I didn't even bother taking it off minus the shoes— the uniform itself was actually really comfortable and somehow perfectly my size!…Regardless of how that was found out, I don't really care, or really want to know, anyways.
I had slept very well, that much can be understood, a dreamless night too on top of that so no dream shenanigans for now. But even then, I can already see what can happen in one of those given the circumstances surrounding this world. For now, however, the buzzing of an alarm on the nightstand next to my head snapped me out of my perfect rest, reminding me to actually get up for the day. But, compared to the other time, I sat up with a less groggy mind and body, a small smile on my head as I reached over to shut the alarm off.
I took a couple minutes just…laying there, content, and a small smile on my face. It was still strange being in this world in the first place. On top of that at all, being the one in command of a ruthless species of robot girls. It was a concept that I had yet to completely grasp and quite frankly, I wish I could. Regardless of that, the creaking of my door alerted me.
Turning to look at the doorway…I frowned softly, seeing the lack of a certain Siren, resting back onto the bed once more, beginning to recount the events of yesterday. I completely ignored the fact the door just opened on its own, anyways. Lots of things were gained such as that group of Kansen, yet, a feeling at the bottom of my guy stabbed at my mind, prodding me, making me feel guilty for what was lost. All those Sirens…even if they weren't real people in a technical sense, that couldn't stop me from feeling a sense of sympathy.
Sighing, I was suddenly and starkly reminded of the doll still clutched in my hand, bringing it up for me to look at.
"Dreamweaver…" I softly uttered as I rotated my hand clockwise and counter-clockwise to better inspect the doll. Even though Dreamweaver was now a literal component of this base, something that cannot be easily removed or destroyed…it still felt as though I lost her. "…Lyn-"
"Yes, Commander?" Suddenly, a very familiar and loud voice filled the room, its sudden appearance frightening the absolute shit out of me. This also yielded a frightened curse from my mouth as I nearly threw the doll into heaven, catching it as it fell down. Catching my breath, I dropped my head, softly chuckling in amusement at my own panic. "Commander? Your levels of cortisol and adrenaline have suddenly spiked up and down. Serotonin levels are also now rapidly rising…do you require assistance?"
"You…You…" I was still chuckling as she bluntly listed off what my body was doing, before shaking my head, a large smile on my head as I took a deep breath. I ended up nodding my head, looking up at the roof, looking for whatever device the Siren was using to view me. "…You caught me by surprise, that's all, you can probably tell."
"Of course, Commander," Dreamweaver confirmed in a neutral tone, such a tone that I can almost picture the bored look as she rested her cheek on her palm. She didn't say much more after that, however, most likely giving me a couple more moments to myself for a bit.
I was, of course, a little creeped out that Dreamweaver was constantly listening to me, and more than likely surveying me 24/7. It was a great sense of security on the flipside. That meant nobody could effectively enter the base without doing some trick shit. On the other hand…do I even get any privacy at all? Shaking my head, it was best not to let my mind wander on that note too far.
Properly composed, I finally got out of bed, going about the morning ritual of waking up properly. Doing the bed, going to the bathroom and finding a change of clothes, taking a shower, and coming back out with new clothes slapped on my body. I really didn't try thinking about Dreamweaver staring at me the entire time but alas. By the time I came out of the bath, there was a small pile of folded-up clothes on the bed. Blinking in wonder, I walked over, prodding the pile as I separated the shirt from pants. Most surprisingly, however, was that the clothes were very much more light on the uniform vibe the last set was going for.
Humming, I went over to the bathroom and changed into this new set. I pretended that the bathroom was a safe zone!
Putting them on and standing before the mirror in the bedroom…I looked more like a fancy-looking businessman than anything else. I hummed softly, looking more at the mirror.
"Like a certain CEO of Hell…" I murmured to myself, before my eyes slowly drifted elsewhere in the mirror, more specifically towards the doorway in the reflection. The hairs on the back of my neck stood straight up as a chill ran down my spine. The main reason was the face of a certain Octo-Loli peering at me from the slightly ajar door, eyes glowing a bright yellow hue.
"Ara ara?~" Perhaps it was the certain set of words that came out her mouth, or perhaps it was because her body type certainly did not suit that mannerism of speech, but either way it made me tense up more as she slinked into the room in a way that no Human should be able to. "Look at our Commander, so dashing in apparel…are you already trying to captivate our Kansen residents?~"
This Siren…
"I…no?" I uttered back out in a confused, though admittedly stupid tone. Alpha slowly slinked up to my side, looking at my clothing as she looked from side to side, feeling at the fabric without caring for my private space, pinching at the fabric, and humming incoherent things to herself as she giggled. Finally, she stood by my side, looking at me in reflection.
"Alpha, I would cease such actions." It was, fortunately, Dreamweaver who came to my rescue as her monotone voice filled the room, causing Alpha to blink a couple of times as she looked around.
"Here I was thinking we finally got rid of you…oh well~" Now that got me to blink multiple times in return as Alpha shrugged her shoulders, gaining a large smile on her face as she looked at me. I had forgotten…there was always some sort of rivalry between the so-called Yellow and Blue faction of the Sirens…how far they got to explain that in the actual game is beyond me now.
"Negative, it is quite obvious that you never thought so to begin with, as my current form has now surpassed my old form as well as yours," Dreamweaver countered in that still monotone voice, though, I felt as if I thought I picked up on a small jab there at the end. Alpha simply shrugged, not willing to continue the conversation with her, and turned to me. Craning her head to look at me, I was reminded of our physical differences once more.
"Commander, Purifier's repairs have finished, and a new rigging has been made for her." She informed me with a small grin, eyes seeming to shine upon delivering such news. "Tester is currently overseeing her activation period to ensure that her personality has not diverged from what we were familiar with prior to the gateway incident. However, I cannot ensure a guarantee that everything will be as it were."
Pondering the information for the time being, I nodded my head as I slowly grabbed my shoes, before sitting on my bedside to slip them on. I was certainly worried that Purifier wouldn't be the same, after all, the happy-go-kill machine suddenly changing would be extreme whiplash for me to handle. Although, the benefits of her losing that edge slightly was slightly beneficial, the chance of losing Purifier's original personality was something I wasn't very stoked about.
"What's our stockpiles looking like?" I ask on a completely different topic, beginning to tie my shoes causing Alpha to nod.
"Currently, as you have not assigned the base to do anything, we currently sit at 5023 cubes, still only a third of what is expected once we fully melt down the cargo ships. Would you like to assign something to be done?" She asked me back in what could be described in a giddy fashion, in a way a child would ask if they would go to the movies, bending over so her face can appear in my field of view as I was tying my shoes, causing me to pause. We had already gone through everything yesterday and I hardly believe that was actually everything.
"For now…let the base consume the cubes necessary to maintain itself on a normal level." I begin with first, already eliminating several dozen of the tasks that Alpha had shown me last night after we came back from the island, before humming softly as I locked eyes with her. "How much will it cost to replace and/or bolster our numbers?" Now that got her really smiling as she quite literally glowed at the question.
"There are multiple options!" She started as she stood up straight, my eyes following as I finished with my shoes, opening her palm as a black cube floated into existence. A large hologram screen appeared, throwing the cube onto the ground, taking up a large portion of the wall as a result. Nifty thing. There, it showed me a large list of mass-produced Warships and the Humanoid Sirens…and another category obscured in darkness. Hm.
"For starters, there is a distinct difference between MP, Mass Produced, Warships and the Sirens you saw earlier: The Humanoid Sirens." Just like a PowerPoint presentation, and with the flick of her finger, Alpha presented multiple images of the Siren Warships in all their glory. Ranging from small Destroyers and Submarines to the largest of Carriers. This even included their upgraded variants!
"Mass Produced Warships are exactly that. They are meant to be completely produced in mass amounts; they hold a special place in the Siren Fleet due to the fact you can mass produce these at extreme numbers! However, they still do not own up to the Humanoid-Sirens in terms of Firepower and Survivability. But whichever the case, every single one is equipped with sophisticated A.I. core to allow for self-operating measures in the case of mobilizations. Build Time and Costs will be abbreviated as D, for days, and C, for cubes, respectively, Commander."
Observer was more than happy to share this information; it seemed as the very next slide showed a list of the costs. Blinking a couple times at the prices for each ship, I hummed as I brought a hand up to my chin, rubbing a nonexistent beard. The later models were still quite a bit expensive when compared to my current budget of a few thousand cubes, unfortunately. They still all retained their code name which I found to be very cool anyways.

"Carriers and Battleships are pretty expensive, huh," I said to myself as I looked at the disparity in pricing and build times between each class of ships. Unsurprisingly, these took much, much less time to build compared to the real Warships that Humanity had, many of which took multiple years compared to the days it would take for one of these. Though, I shrugged. It was obvious the Sirens had some sort of system to slap together these ships in an efficient manner. I look over to the side as a new number appeared on the slide.
5046 Cubes. Already went up a few in the time that Alpha told me what it was originally. Looking back at the roster of Ships, there were quite a few options that I was already looking at, perhaps multiple fleet compositions for the time being…but Alpha's piercing gaze reminded me that there was still an entire list of other Sirens to take a look at before deciding on anything concrete…plus that grayed-out category afterward.
"And what of the other type? The Humanoids?" I asked thereafter, causing Alpha to flick her finger once more, bringing up the next roster of Sirens. Then I remembered about the Tester army seen multiple times in the Anime and elsewhere. "And can we create more copies of Tester and Purifier on top of that?"
"The Humanoid Sirens disregard costs for operating power," She explained first as she brought up the image of a Peacebreaker, a Battleship Siren, firing multiple of its strange weapons at once, all while with crossed arms. "As it's more difficult to heavily arm such a small entity with more firepower than some Warships, as well as still hosting a frame capable of agile movements, costs are higher; however, the end-result is a more potent unit capable of acting like a humanoid entity, as well as vocally and physically interacting with you. Once more, build times and costs will be abbreviated just like before."
Alpha raised her eyebrows in a suggestive manner as she emphasized a certain word, causing me to sigh.
"Though, as for Tester and Purifier…" She fell silent, as if computing something, before eventually shaking her head with a grin. "…The method of recreating bodies for Tester and Purifier is at a standstill and will require more than a sufficient amount of effort to resume such operations. Leave that be for another time, there are other Sirens I want to create given time as well."
Then, Alpha returned to silence proper, having dumped her little expo of information for me to eat up. She was right, we were still missing quite a few named-Sirens from the games, something I hadn't noticed up until yesterday. Looking at what I got, though, I began to skim through the options. Every tier was here, at least, those that were shown in the game except for that last tier. That Type R was an option…despite the game never having such a thing by the time I left. Very interested to see how they look compared to the others. Looking back at the hologram, I took in the options…

"Expensive…" I muttered to myself in slight apprehension as I looked at how the prices fared against the MP Ships. I understand now why the Humanoid Sirens were often accompanied by several times more MP Ships than themselves. Humming slowly, I figured that I could afford to use at least a third- or even a half of my current predicted resources to bolster our numbers for any sort of clashes in the near future…
But then my eyes flicked up to that grayed out category, my attention turning to Alpha, titling my head in a questioning manner.
"Why is that Category grayed out?" I ask, pointing at, drawing Alpha's gaze up at it as she blinked. "There some sort of reason for it?"
"That category is simply beyond our current budget, so why bother showing it, hm?" Alpha reasoned back as she flicked her finger anyways, showing me a…roster of…
"Holy…shit…" Megaprojects. It was a list of mega-project Warships. At the very top of the list, though, was a very familiar Warship that stood out from all the rest. At the top, its name lay in bold…
"…Orochi…" The Super-Aviation-Battleship from the Anime…it was here, it actually exists as an option!
My large grin was more than obvious to anything in the room as I stared dead straight at it, showing a level of interest higher than anything shown before, causing Alpha to slowly move into the field of view once more as she inspected my face. Noticing her, I quickly snapped out of my stupor, leaning away as I tried to calm myself down. Looking down at the details below, the build time and cost certainly did destroy my excitement just like that.
"365 Days….100,000 Cubes, huh?" I mutter bitterly as I nodded my head in despair, not knowing when I would be able to afford such a thing, or even the others on the list by extension. Hell, I don't even think we have a whole fucking year to dedicate solely for a project of this size. Something could certainly be done…
"Orochi?" Then, came Alpha's question as she tilted her head at me. She slowly giggled as she looked away, off to the side, and into space as she seemed to reminisce. "I haven't heard that name in for a long time, Commander, especially ever since a certain failure in another world~"
Staying silent for a few as I let Alpha sink into that pit of memories, I found the art of also directing the slides to my own willpower, simply mirroring what Alpha did by flicking my finger in the air as though it was a screen. Nifty little thing. Traveling between slides, I began to make some sort of Fleet Plan in my head.
"Perhaps…a Battleship and Carrier heavy Fleet…" I pondered out loud as I tried to imagine the fleet within my head, at least, within the current budget the base could produce. I didn't want to suddenly bankrupt the base just because I wanted a gigantic fleet that would make any Admiral cry over. Of course, just because I want simply Battleships and Carriers only doesn't quite mean I can ignore the other classes. Destroyers and Submarines can come in handy in their own way, especially since the former can quite easily work on their own in groups, the latter of which can work completely on their own. Whereas the Cruisers can work wonderfully in conjunctions with any sort of surface vessel. Be it acting as Anti-Air support for Carriers or becoming guardians for the Destoyers in patrolling fleets. But…to choose the ratio between Humanoid and MP Ships…
Taking a seat on my bed, I looked at the ground in thought, wondering the ratio I should probably aim for. A 50/50 sounds nice, though, that would mean the amount of Cubes and Time to be spent on Humanoids would be higher than the MP Ships. This in spite of the same amount of numbers…perhaps a 70/30? 70% of MP and 30% of Humanoid Sirens…
19823 Cubes…I think I'm willing to spend at least half of that on our numbers…god knows what the upkeep will be like with all these upcoming units-
"If I may, Commander," Dreamweaver's voice entered the room once more, drawing my attention to the roof, an affirmative hum coming from me to acknowledge her. Directly to the left of Alpha's hologram, a new hologram displayed itself, showing me a whole new roster of Sirens. I gawked for a moment, having completely forgotten about the Arbiters and their Enforcers at this moment.
"Currently, out of the 22 Arbiters…Only Empress III exists within our ranks," She explained, pulling an image of up Empress, before switching back to the roster of Arbiters, this time, each containing an image of their appearance after their names. I shuddered softly, wondering how much it took to take down so many Arbiters. Looking at the list, however, greeted me with the names of several Arbiters who had yet to come out in the game. "Every other Arbiter and their respective Enforcers have fallen in Combat trying to lead our ranks against Humanity and their Shipgirl. Please take into consideration reconstructing, at the very least, one out of those 21 fallen, as well as constructing their enforcer. Doing so will increase the Arbiter's efficiency by 50%. An Arbiter will take 21 Days to construct and cost 2000 Cubes. An Enforcer will cost a third of that: 7 Days, 500 Cubes."
"So many choices…" I said to myself as I looked between the Arbiters, MP Ships, and Humanoid Sirens. Alpha looked at me expectantly, eyes pulsing with life every now and then, drew me to a slight standstill between these two different factions of Sirens. I rubbed my temples, realizing the stress of having to calculate all of this, as well as choosing a moderately balanced fleet after all this. Looks like it's time to do some math…
"Give…Give me a calculator, paper, and something to write with…" I said after a while, making Alpha grin widely as a fancy looking calculator, paper, and a pen spawned all in her hand. Although I could tell she could very well do all the calculating faster than I can snap my fingers…god this is gonna take a while…

12120 Cubes used. I tap my pen on that number multiple times as the numbers quickly racked up to the end sum. More than half of what I wanted to use in the end. I sigh deeply into my hands as I finish doing the work on the paper, having jotted down what I wanted, before looking at Alpha as she looked over my shoulder the entire time to see how I went. Nearly 20 minutes had passed since the original request. Never did she say anything as I listed down the numbers, though, almost as if she was comfortable in the backseat as I suffered with math. It took a bit of trial and error in the end, anyways, as I needed to still stick to my original idea of going for a rough 70/30 fleet composition while also trying to stick to my original budget. Even though I effectively shot 20% beyond original budget, I eventually accepted that there must be sacrifices every now and then.
"This should be good." I say to myself as I raise the paper up from the nightstand, holding it in front of me as I mentally recount everything to make sure it was really what I wanted, as though I had already made sure of it countless times before.
"Strength and Lovers?" Alpha said as she peered at the two Arbiters I had chosen, my head nodding in affirmation. "Interesting choices, but welcomed nonetheless."
"Arbiter: Strength and Arbiter: Lovers were two useful operatives on the field," then came the voice of Dreamweaver, cutting in after Alpha. "Strength bolsters a variety of defensive and offensive capabilities. It was only through the efforts of multiple navies and continuous effort for hours did they manage to finally overwhelm her. Lovers is a strategist at heart, capable of deciphering what the enemy will do before they even know what to do. It was only by irrational behavior that Lovers was no longer able to predict. They will serve us well once they return to full operations, Commander. If you are absolute in your choices, I will begin their manufacturing process immediately."
I turn to look at Alpha as she gives the list a once-over again before shrugging her shoulders.
"This will do us good to reinforce our numbers, especially with what we lost in the offense against the Island, after all. Give me the list and I will also begin the process of carrying these orders out." There was a giddy tone in her voice as she stretched her hand out to me, the little paper finding its spot in her palm, before it suddenly went up in flames. I blinked, Alpha giggling softly. "The order has been placed. The Dockyards are beginning the planning phase."
"Strength and Lovers will begin construction, Commander," Dreamweaver said before pausing, "It will not be long before the entire Arbiter Fleet will rejoin us. With you, the Arbiters will be more than they were before."
"I hope so," I reply with a hopeful tone, looking at Alpha. I figured it was finally time. "Where are the Shipgirls? I want to meet them."
"Ara Ara?~ You were dressing to impress, weren't you?" Those words, once more, made me shiver as I shook my head quickly. This only caused the Octo-Loli to giggle devilishly with a smug grin. "At this rate, we'll have to create a nursery for the ba-"
Bonk
From within the walls, a mechanical tentacle slid out, its end slamming against Alpha's head causing a resounding metal-on-metal clang to reverberate in the room. Alpha's giggling stopped as she rubbed the spot where she had been hit, casting a glare at the tendril, before looking back at me. Although no longer giggling, she regained a part of her smuggish grin.
"Oh well, I suppose we all can't have fun nowadays, follow me Commander," Shrugging with both hands coming up into the air, Alpha walked past me, heading towards the doorway. Making sure that I was proper and tidied up, I followed the Siren out the door. But before she could push the door open, Alpha stopped, before looking back at me with a darker grin than I've seen ever before, a melancholic giggle following suit.
"Oh, don't worry Commander, a nursery was built as soon as the Base could~"
….Why….
In a completely different part of the base was a small room filled with a large variety of medical equipment. Rather, that's how it would translate into Human speak, as it was a large number of computers with wires running here and there, but all connecting to one certain individual:
Purifier.
Currently, she lay on a flat, barren, metal table as dozens of cables were connected up to her body. She was completely stripped of any clothing, her hair clips undone, allowing for her incredible length of hair to hang off the end of the table. At the foot-end of the table stood Tester, silently staring at Purifier, and the various monitors surveying her status. Looking down at her hand, after what happened yesterday, she had managed to introduce several fractures in the metal.
"No matter…" Tester said out loud as she ignored her hand for the time being, figuring that was a good test otherwise to gauge how much damage she can do to Empress on that scale… the end result was something she didn't quite like anyways. Crossing her arms, she kept surveying Purifier…waiting…and waiting…
Tester figured that it could be worse, after all. They no longer held a copy of Purifier's original program with the destruction of the Terminal, after all, so her appearing, after all, that was something she could view as fortunat-
"God…damn…" It seemed like Tester's mind was allowed to wander beyond what she had allowed, cursing herself momentarily, before drawing her attention to Purifier who had begun to rouse from her shut down. Moving up to the side of the table, Tester stared directly down at Purifier, a neutral expression present.
"Feels like I got punched by Strength after I poked her scars…" Finally, Purifier's eyes began to blink open, her arm rising up to rub her head. At the same time, the sound of metal sliding against metal seemed to make Purifier pause, her eyes slowly opening all the way as they got used to the bright lighting. She eventually locked eyes with Tester, smiling sheepishly. "Heyo…? How ya doin' this mornin', Tessy?"
That was all that was needed for Tester to sigh with relief as she took a step back.
"You're awake, it took you long enough," Tester said with closed eyes, an unamused tone ringing into Purifier's ears, who began to look around in confusion.
"Y-Yeah…I'm awake— hey, what's happened? Why am I on this bed, completely naked, and why do I got all sorts of shit hooked up to me?" Purifier at first answered, before she began to fire off question after question as she slowly sat herself up, looking at all the cables, and computers around her. She then widened her eyes at a certain cable. "Oh god- why the fuck do you have a cable going in that hole!?"
"Because, you, little ol' Purifier, decided to involve yourself in something you shouldn't have. Dreamweaver needed to…execute some desperate measures in order to save you." That explanation made Purifier stop squirming as she looked at Tester with an incredulous look. That, in turn, made Tester scoff in amusement. "What? It's not the first time you've been on that table, remember?"
"Goddamn, just sounds like another Friday," dragging a hand down her face, Purifier sighed, "You gotta tell me everything then, Tessy 'cause I don't remember anything before I went into the base."
"I will," Tester couldn't help but smile as she chuckled in amusement before she headed towards the doorway of the room. Pressing a button, the large metal door slid up into the roof, Tester took a moment before leaving, looking back at Purifier. "Get all those cables off of you and put some clothes on. The Commander would like to make sure you aren't a completely different person— he's in the Dockyard with Alpha as we speak. Hurry up."
"Gotcha, I'll be out there in a jiffy!" Purifier said back with a grin, Tester's smile widening as she left the room, the door slamming shut.
"Must've been a wild ride I went on," Purifier said to herself as she began to rip the cables off her body. "It was probably nothin', now let's get the hell outta this place, just gives me the creeps!"
Purifier said as she yanked the last, and largest, cable out of her body, causing her to squirm, before she shook her head. Looked like she had a long day ahead of herself…

So you all thought this was dead, ain't that right? Well, turns out that this was on the back of my mind the ENTIRE time muahahaha. How could I let one of my most successful Fics just die like that? But anyways, it's been
Checks dates….
About a year since this was last updated! In that time, I got a job that I actually really like, I'm financially stable, I got the things I need and want + for those in my immediate family. My life has changed drastically since last year or since this story started to begin with allllll the way back in 2019. This story is basically 3 years old? Crazy aint it!?
Admittedly, I can't replicate my writing style from back then, and neither do I really want to. Hell, the first couple chapters are something I cringe at so hard! But, I'll probably keep them like that so I can look at how much I've changed in that time. I have grown beyond what I used to write and as such, I may, or may not, forgetten certain details of this story. Hell, I might just gloss over some details because my mindset back then for this story is aloooot more different than what it is now.
Ontop of that, Azur Lane itself has grown beyond my expectations, and released more and more details of the Sirens. As you may know and already see, the Sirens here have their own unique canon compared to the one in Azur Lane, but it should be fiiiiine.
Now, is there going to be stable updates, you may ask?
*shrug*
No idea, honestly. I can't guarantee anything since I don't wanna make any promises. But at the same time, I don't want to leave this hanging any longer than it should have. Hell, I think my original end date for this fic was the same year it was published. So! With that said, this Fic is more on the forefront of my mind now. Food for thought.
Anyways, 'til next time!
