"I'm here!" Drew yelled.
The front door was open and he walked right in.
"We're in the kitchen!" Dolph yelled.
Drew walked out in the kitchen and found Dolph and Adelina. She was packing the coffee maker down in a box.
"Wow, you got a lot of boxes. I can't believe you're moving today," Drew said.
"Believe it," Adelina smiled.
"Are you sure you don't need my help?" Drew asked.
"She's sure," Dolph smirked.
"My brother is coming with a bunch of his friends. They're used to working as a team. You'll be in the way. No, it's best if you two take the entire day and drive around to car sellers. Test drive a lot of cars and find the right one," Adelina said.
Dolph walked over to Adelina and kissed her.
"Not in front of the kids," Seth chuckled.
They both looked in the direction of the kitchen door and saw Seth standing there.
"Everyone is waiting outside," Seth said.
"I'll call you once I find the right car," Dolph said. "I'm gonna need your help to put down a payment."
"I'll make sure he won't go overboard," Drew said.
"Don't worry about it. Have fun," Adelina said.
Dolph and Drew left the kitchen. Seth kept watching them walk out of the house.
"And they're gone," Seth looked over at Adelina. "Are you okay?"
"That was our last kiss. It's weird to think about," she sighed. "Yes, I'm okay. Let's move."
They walked outside where a team of men stood waiting. There were two moving trucks too.
"Roman already brought his stuff," Seth pointed at one of the trucks. "Even if Dolph gets the great idea of backtracking here, the new owner will already be inside and Dolph will be trespassing."
"I love you," Adelina said.
"I love you too," Seth chuckled.
Roman came walking towards them. Adelina met him when he came to see the house. He had already signed the papers and the house was his from today. She pulled up the keys and handed them to him.
"Every key I ever made is there. I stole Dolph's key last night. He hasn't noticed," Adelina said.
"I like you," Roman chuckled. "If you ever miss the house, feel free to stop by for a cup of coffee."
"Thanks. I might do that," Adelina said.
Seth gave Roman a look and got a smirk back in return.
"Alright, let's clean out the house!" Seth yelled.
Adelina walked back inside followed by several men that started picking up furniture.
"Your sister is cute," Roman said.
"No dating my sister," Seth said. "You can't use each other as rebounds. I don't wanna hear both of you whine about the other."
"Maybe I'll wait until my divorce is through and I'm ready to meet someone again then," Roman smirked.
"And maybe I'll approve then," Seth smirked back. "Now move her stuff, silly."
They spent hours getting Adelina's stuff out of the house and Roman's stuff in. Everything that Seth had space for went to his house. The rest got stored in a storage he had rented. By the end they only had Dolph's things left.
"Damn, he got a lot of crap," Seth said.
"And he probably still owes money for all of it," Adelina said.
"What do you wanna do with it?" He asked.
"Let's drive to Drew's home and dump it there. I've decided Drew has adopted Dolph from this moment," she said.
He chuckled and got back into the moving truck.
"Lead the way," he said.
They drove to Drew's house and placed all Dolph's items in the front garden. As kind as Drew sometimes was and would offer to do things like pay for lunch, he also was terrible when it came to enabling Dolph. Those two together were a train wreck. One she didn't want to be part of anymore.
They got back into the moving truck. She looked at her brother and smiled. She was just about to say something when her phone rang. They both knew who it was before she took her phone out. She needed to do this. Dolph needed to know they were done.
"Hello," Adelina said.
"What the hell is going on?" Dolph asked.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I decided to drive home to get you but your parents say you never made a deal about us living there," he said.
"That's true. I didn't," she said.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" He asked.
"It means I'm breaking up with you," she said.
She looked over at her brother who tried keeping himself from laughing out loud. Dolph had been mooching off his sister for years. It was time for a hard reality check.
"Where am I supposed to go?" Dolph asked.
"I don't know. Figure it out yourself. I'm done," Adelina answered.
"No!" He growled. "I'm going back to the house. You can't force me out."
"And how are you gonna get in there without a key? Breaking and entering is illegal," she said.
She heard some noise while he was pulling his keys up from his pocket.
"Where the fuck is my house key?" Dolph shouted.
"I gave it to the new owner. He moved in today. If you try getting in, he'll call the cops," Adelina said.
"Or beat the shit out of him," Seth smirked. "Roman's strong. Dolph doesn't stand a chance."
"I left all your stuff on Drew's lawn. I suggest you come get it before the neighbors think it's a free yard sale," Adelina said.
Adelina hung up and blocked Dolph's number. She looked over at Seth and smiled.
"I feel so fucking free right now," she said.
"Because you are," he grinned. "Let's get out of here."
He drove down the street and away from Drew's house. She looked in the side mirror until she couldn't see the house anymore. She turned her head and looked over at her brother.
"Thank you so much," she said.
"Don't worry about it. It's gonna be fun having you as a roommate for a while. Like when we were kids and would make pillow forts and watch horror movies half the night," he said.
"Mom got so mad," she laughed.
"Of course she did. You've been showing me horror movies since I was 8," he chuckled.
"And you've loved every second of it," she said.
They both cleared the air with some laughter. It felt good finally moving on and starting her life over.
"Roman," she said. "You work with him, right?"
"Yes. Why?" He asked.
"Oh, nothing really. He's cute," she said.
"I will tell you the same as I told him this morning," he said. "No dating each other. No using each other as a rebound. Once you've both moved on from your relationships, we can revisit this conversation. But for now, let's focus on dinner. What do you want? Burger? Pizza?"
He looked over at her and smirked. In reality he wouldn't mind if she ended up dating Roman. He just didn't want any of them to be hurt which was why he wanted them to work through their broken relationships and be damn sure they were ready to date again. Something he knew both of them agreed with.
"Pizza," she said.
"You're gonna make me do it, aren't you?" He asked.
"Yup!" She grinned. "Pineapple on pizza, little brother."
