Vitani's Quest Chapter 8.
The other pridelanders were just as shocked as their king and prince had been when they saw Vitani and a massive lion riding on top of a thirteen-foot bull elephant. Simba and Kovu on either side of him. They were resting on a hill when they heard Makonnen's trumpeting trunk. Sarabi said, "You don't see that everyday," in a bewildered tone. Kiara ran up to the behemoth and exclaimed, "Is that you Vitani?!l"
"Who else would it be princess?" the war lioness asked sarcastically. She leapt down, then looked at her two comrades and said, "Introduce yourselves boys!"
Hodari jumped off Makonnen's back as well, bowing and saying his name.
"It's pleasure to meet you ladies."
He'd done the same to King Simba and Prince Kovu when he met them.
"He's even bigger than Mufasa," Sarafina whispered to another lioness.
"I wouldn't want to piss him off," an outsider lioness named Spotty said to one of her sisters.
"You must be Kiara the princess," Hodari said turning his attention to the Princess Regeant of the Pridelands.
"Vitani's told me lots about you. Specifically, how you rejected Kovu's plan of running away, and convinced the Outsiders and Pridelanders to cease hostllities. Very impressive."
"Thank you Mr. Hodari," Kiara said gratefully.
"She also said you were a looker, which you are," he continued, causing her to blush brightly.
"I'm just glad Kiara believed that I didn't ambush Simba. I'd have died if she'd shunned me like everyone else," Kovu said looking down as he remembered the horrible day he was exiled.
"Sorry for believing her Kovu. I don't know why I did, I knew she was a liar and schemer," Simba said apologetically.
"At least you saw the errors of your ways my son, just like Vitani and the Outlanders saw the errors of theirs," Sarabi spoke up, approaching the new arrivals. Hodari bowed in reverence to Sarabi, who lifted his head with her paw and said, "I've stepped down from ruling dear, No need to bow."
"Pleasure to finally meet Simba's mother!" Makonnen exclaimed, holding out his trunk for the late Mufasa's mate to shake, which she did.
"And how did you come to meet my sister-in-law Mr.…"
"Makonnen is my name. And Vitani saved me from a smaller bull elephant in musth. She threw a rock into his eye when he had me pinned."
Every pridelander but Simba and Kovu stared at Vitani in awe, who just grinned proudly.
"After I saved him, I saved four lion cubs from Black Mamba climbing up their tree by crushing ti with my head. Bad news is I fractured it, and had to spend 90 days in a cave. Kito even had to do surgery to remove the blood in my between my brain and spinal fluid."
"You fractured your skull?! And whose Kito?," Simba asked. Vitani elaborated on how she had been found by a white lioness named Yoruba and how the cubs she rescued were hers. The lioness brought her to the eponymous mandrill healer who nursed her back to health. She continued the story, once again impressing her audience when she mentioned killing three female crocodiles while still injured. Every lion growled fiercely when she revealed of her near-rape by the two-males, her brother's being the loudest. After hearing of her grandniece's rescue by Iperile and Lerumo, Sarabi said, "I have to meet those two saviors of yours."
"Considering they both fly, they might have to find you."
"I had been about to rescue her before those two flying foxes swept in," Hodari continued where Vitani left off.
"Tell us about yourself son," Simba requested of the newly arrived male lion.
Hodari reiterated that he didn't remember his family and that they had disappeared one day, and that he'd lived on his own since then. Sarabi expressed her sympathy, while Nala remarked, " For you to survive on your own as a cub to adulthood, and to be so healthy, it's miraculous!"
"How old are you Hodari?" Nala's mother asked.
"Five. How old are you Vitani?"
"2 years old. And before you ask, I don't care that your older."
"So you two are already an item?," Kovu asked.
"Of course not you dork! I just met him," Vitani said gently shoving his head to the side.
"But I am willing to give him a chance to win my heart. You should have heard what he said to me when were still in the Marshlands. Hodari's quite a smooth talker."
Sarabi smirked and said "Oh and what did you tell her my son,"
All eyes turned toward him, and nervous at being put on the spot, Hodari ran off.
"Hey, where are you going ?!" Nala exclaimed.
"I'm not repeating those words!" he shouted as his form grew smaller.
"Lets pin him down and make him talk!" a lioness named Agbala suggested. She ran after the giant male and every lioness including Sarabi followed.
