I don't own any of this Ed, Edd N Eddy belongs to Danny Antonucci and IT belongs to Stephen King.
Eddy
Racing out of the classroom in great speed. Eddy felt like bursting due to how happy he is feeling, he only felt this happy when he either struck it rich or getting a jawbreaker, but today is the perfect excuse to feel this happy as today is the last day of school. Which means that no more homework, no more teachers that look down on him as they never gave him any high regard, and most importantly now that he was free from this prison. All the scams that he's been thinking of for the past two months can finally be put to life.
"Woohoo! Seeya teach! And hello sweet! Sweet summer!" He shouted in joy. Behind him are his only two friends who ran to catch up with him. Ed is equally happy for summer, while Double Dee is the complete opposite as he is visibility sadden for the end of the school year.
"Time for fun in the sun!" Ed shouted in joy.
"You got that right lumpy!" Eddy laughed.
"Oh the school year. How I will miss the." Double Dee sadly lament.
Reaching their lockers, the three opened them up to clear them out with Ed's locker having a pile of trash crash onto the floor, Double Dee is neatly putting away books and school supplies in his bag for next year, and Eddy is just tossing his things to the trashcan behind him. The sooner he can clear this junk out, the sooner he'll be able to get outta here.
Double Dee took notice of Eddy's little regard for his school supplies with slight concern. "You should really save your school supplies for next year Eddy."
Tossing another textbook into the trash, Eddy looked to him with a blank look. "Listen sockhead. After wasting all these months in this dump. I don't wanna to see anything that's related to school."
"Come now Eddy. If you actually pay attention in class and don't play your infamous tricks. You wouldn't be having any trouble in school. It's rather very lucky that you're not going to summer school." Double Dee lectured sternly.
"Like I would go to summer school. Who's the idiot that decided it is a good idea to have school in the summer?" Tossing the last of his textbooks, Eddy slammed his locker shut and leaned against it as he waited for his friends.
Ed meanwhile reached through the pile of trash, he soon feels something amongst the pile. Forming a huge smile, Ed pulls out a very moldy sandwich. "Look guys! The sandwich I lost on the first day of school!" Opening his mouth up wide, Ed tosses the moldy sandwich into his mouth and ate it, much to Eddy's and Double Dee's disgust. Swallowing it whole, Ed happily patted his stomach. "That hit the spot."
Double Dee wanted to say something, but honestly at this point he might as well not even bother. So instead Double Dee just continues to collect the last of his things, while Ed dived right back into his pile of trash. Eddy being as impatient as ever tapped his fingers against the locker with a very bored look on him, time is money and he doesn't want to waste it on still being stuck here any longer. "Come on! You guys done yet? I wanna at least try to do a scam while there is still daylight outside."
"Please be patient Eddy. I just need to collect a few more items before leaving." Double Dee pulls out several papers, highlighters, pens, pencils, several measuring equipment, notebooks, and a tube of glue from his locker and into his bag. Ed meanwhile had stuffed his trash into the trashcan which definitely got overfilled. "Alright. Shall we get going gentlemen." Double Dee finally said.
"About time." Eddy commented. He and his friends walk their way down the hall, passing many other lockers and rooms, but they all soon came to a slow stop upon coming up to Jimmy's old locker.
The shocking murder of the young kid had been very shocking for all of them, it was even more shocking that whoever had killed him had completely ripped his arm right out of its socket. It was utterly unreal that one of the kids they have seen so often had been killed in such a gruesome way, in fact for the next couple of weeks after the grizzly discovery both the Eds and the kids were silent. Eddy even restraint himself from calling Jimmy by his nickname that he had given him, which he is still doing as although he and Eddy didn't exactly get along, Jimmy does deserve to be called by his real name after meeting such an unfortunate end.
What was worse? Is that three other kids had been found dead with all of them mangled up in some way and one kid had been missing for several days now. This resulted in the sheriff to call in a 7:00 curfew for everyone. "You know guys. No matter how much we pass that locker. I still find it hard to believe that Jimmy is gone."
"I know what you mean Eddy. I keep thinking to myself that we would see him playing with Sarah." Double Dee agreed.
"Oh yeah. Mrs. Loudmouth." Eddy said in distained for lately Sarah had been getting more aggressive and violent, especially towards them. They didn't have to even do anything in order to invoke Sarah's wrath. Eddy definitely remembered that he had been just walking down the hall minding his own business, then he accidentally bumped into her, then the next thing he knew was that he got attacked by her. But if anything Eddy felt extremely bad for Ed as he had to live with that beast of a sister. He can only imagine on what he had to go through and he already had several ideas.
"Well Eddy. When it comes to the death of someone your close to, sometimes people show very negative emotions." Double Dee countered though Eddy could very well tell that he is very afraid of facing her. Looking over to Ed, Eddy could also see that he to is scared of facing his sister as well as being deep in thoughts. But the visible fear on him is swiftly replaced by his trademark smile. "Time to play underneath the sun!"
Running forward, Ed races towards the doors with Eddy and Double Dee fallowing closely behind him as they both stare at that abandon locker.
After meeting back up with Ed at the front doors. The three came out on to the steps with Eddy happily explaining about the scams they are all going to be doing this summer. "So we'll do this rodeo in the lane. Ed will be the bull that someone is going to be riding for ten minutes. With this one, we will definitely make it rich."
A sudden object hits Eddy in the side of the head after he reached the bottom step. The force from the object is strong enough to physically fly him into the grass with a loud thud. Getting out of his daze, while on his back Eddy looked above him to see a football lying there. A familiar mocking laugh soon follows which made Eddy groan in agitation for he knew who that obnoxious laughter belonged to.
"Don't you know how to catch a ball dorky?" Kevin mocked in his usual smugness.
Angrily Eddy gets himself back up on his feet and stared at his long time nemesis. "Watch where you throwing this shovelchin!" Picking up the football Eddy threw it at the jock, which went right over his head and splash right into a puddle of mud. Looking at his now dirtied up ball, Kevin turned back to Eddy with fury in his eyes. "Look what you did dork. You dirtied up my ball!"
Raising his fist up in which Eddy instinctively backed away from, Kevin shook it a couple times. "I otta pound you for that."
However Double Dee gets himself in front of the jock with his arms reached out defensively. "Now Kevin. There's no need to beat up Eddy over this. You can just clean up your ball with some soap and water, then it'll look as good as new." A sheepish smile spreads out through Double Dee's face as he hoped that Kevin would take his advice, instead of beating up his friend.
Kevin meanwhile look to him and to Eddy with a glare, his fist still at ready to pound down on a dork. Eventually Kevin let out an angered sigh. "Fine, I'll let this one go. But you dorks better prepare yourselves for I know that I'm going to give all three of you dorks a thrashing, once one of your stupid scams goes wrong." With one last glare aimed towards the three of them, Kevin picks up his muddy football and walked out of the schoolyard.
Once the jock was both out of earshot and eyesight, Eddy gives out a long raspberry. "Man! That shovelchin sure can get on my nerves."
"We're just lucky that Kevin back down for once Eddy. No doubt he would have gave you a couple of nasty bruises." Double Dee firmly stated.
"Pfft! Whatever! Let's just get out of here shall we."
"Summer, funner guys!" Ed happily announced and with that the Eds ran off in the direction of the cul-de-sac. They didn't get far for as soon as they turn the corner to the business district, three familiar laughs that chilled them to the bone filled their ears.
"Good one May!" The distant voice of Lee Kanker stated.
"Kankers!" Ed shouted in terror.
"And they're coming this way." Double Dee fearfully spoke up.
They needed to get out of the open quickly or else suffer the unwanted kisses of the Kanker sisters. Eddy quickly looks around for a place to hide, eventually his gaze fell upon the laundromat. "Quick in here!" Grabbing his friends by the back of their shirt collars, he hauled them into the laundromat where they all hunkered down beneath the window.
Pulling out a mirror from his pocket with visible sweat going down his hand. Double Dee angles it to where they can see the outside. The Kankers soon came into view, laughing loudly before coming to a stop. The three Eds kept quiet for if they make any noise, they're done for.
"This school year has been a real hoot. Hasn't it girls?" Lee deviously stated.
"You said it Lee. We got a whole ton of lunch money and we scared off that janitor." Marie laughed which is shortly fallowed by May. "We sure sent him to the cleaners!" The three go off into another fit of laughter that lasted for a couple of seconds before they eventually died down.
"Alright girls. Now that we have all that out of our system, I believe you all know what the game plan is for this summer." Lee said with great maliciousness.
"Pick on the small fries." Marie said in so much glee.
"And spend as much time as we can with are boyfriends." May added with a lovestruck smile.
"You got that right girls. Will give them as much affection as we can give them, so you better prepare your lipsticks girls as your going to need them." With that the Kankers walked off to hang around in the junkyard, the Eds did not come out until they couldn't hear their voices. Once the coast is clear they slowly came out of the laundromat and kept a good eye out just in case they came back, seeing that they weren't the three sighed in relief for that had been a major crisis averted.
"Looks like we gotta keep our eyes out." Eddy commented.
"I fully agree with you on that Eddy. Though I fear that they'll find ways to ambush us. Just like they usually do." Double Dee mumbled on that last part.
"Kankers bad for Ed guys!" Ed cried in despair.
"Don't worry your head off lumpy. We'll be one step ahead of those stupid Kankers this summer." Eddy assured with great confidence.
However Double Dee had his great doubts about that. The Kankers always found a way to get them, they can literally pop out from nowhere or ambush them like a lion with a zebra. "Forgive me Eddy, but I have a strong feeling that we'll end up in the clutches of those vile Kanker sisters." Letting out a sigh Double Dee looked down to his feet. "Fate unfortunately doesn't seem to like us very much."
"Chill sockhead. I promise both of you that those stupid Kankers won't be getting their paws on us." Eddy loudly stated.
"I somehow doubt that promise is going to be fulfilled." Double Dee muttered under his breath.
Feeling like that they had enough talking about the Kankers. Eddy felt that now is the perfect time to get down to business. "Alright boys. Let's start talking about our first scam for the summer."
Pulling themselves into a circle. Eddy begins to discuss the ideas of his new scam that will get them rich and allow them to get their hands on those sweet, sweet jawbreakers. Eddy could just already taste those orbs of greatness.
"Step right up folks! Step right up! Come on down to Ed's Hot Dogs to get yourselves a tasty dog!" Eddy loudly announced.
The Ed's have set up a stand in front of Eddy's house. Ed is dressed up as a hot dog, while Double Dee is in charge of making the hot dogs AKA; bananas that he placed on buns. "Eddy. I don't think people are going to mistake bananas with hot dogs."
"Shush it will ya. We have customers coming." He sharply whispers as Rolf along with Johnny and Plank approached the stand.
"Oh boy! Plank and I are craving for some hot dogs." Johnny exclaimed in joy.
"Yes. Rolf is also craving the pig meat that's wedged in-between bread." Rolf happily agreed.
Eddy comes up to them with a smile and his money jar in his hands. "Of course you two are! Here at Ed's Hot Dogs! You can get a tasty dog for the cost of only $0.25." Reaching out his money jar to them, Eddy eagerly shook it until both Rolf and Johnny put their money into the jar.
After paying for their hot dogs, Johnny and Rolf head on over to the stand. Ed meanwhile happily waves to them for customer service and Double Dee came up with a plate of two hot dogs. "Order up." He announced with a kind smile.
The two took their hot dogs and ate them immediately. The taste is a bit strange and not unlike a hot dog they ate before, perhaps it is a secret recipe Double Dee invented. As they leave Eddy is lovingly looking at the money in his jar, for he is already making it rich, he just needs a few more pigeons and then he and the others can head on down to the candy store.
"Hey dudes! You making some hot dogs?" Nazz asked after approaching the stand. Upon seeing her Eddy goes into a sweaty, blubbering mess for he can never talk normally when he's in front of Nazz. "Y-y-yeah. I-i-it only-y costs twenty five cents-s-s."'
"Cool. I think I'll try one." Nazz hands in her twenty five cents and came up to the stand where Double Dee is just a sweaty and blubbering mess as Eddy. "Order-er Up miss."
"Thanks dude." Nazz takes a look down at her hot dog and immediately noticed the banana between the buns. "Hey isn't this a banana?"
"Y-yes. It's uh, a more healthier hot dog." Double Dee stuttered in explanation.
"Rad. Thanks for the hotdog." Nazz leaves the stand while she began to happily eat, leaving the three to stand there blushing with a pool of sweat damping their feet. Just like the other boys in the cul-de-sac, (besides Rolf), they are absolutely smitten with Nazz's beauty. It is an absolute curse that Nazz seems to bring out to all of them and they each hope that they could go on a date with her one day, but deep down they knew that was never going to happen. After all, why would a popular girl like Nazz go on a date or even hang out with outcasts like them?
Getting over their lovestruck daze, the three get right back to their jobs. However their peacefulness didn't last very long for Eddy had spotted Ed's loud mouth sister standing in front of Jimmy's house, looking very sadden by the way she is slouching down. She is most likely thinking about the boy she would be happily playing with right at this moment.
Eddy really hope that she would stay over there as he really didn't want to deal with that bratty half pint. Unfortunately his usual luck is playing against him as Sarah had turned around and laid her eyes on the Eds. Her demeanor immediately changed into pure hatred, clenching her fists to her sides, with her mouth opening to reveal her teeth. Sarah could be heard growling as she started to storm her way towards them.
"Run boys! Sarah's coming!" Eddy warned his friends before running off to get away from her wrath.
"Oh dear! Run Ed!"
"Sarah, bad for Ed!"
Catching up with Eddy, the three ran off as fast as they can in order to get away from the raging Sarah who stopped in front of their stand. She's very angry that she wasn't able to thrash any of those idiots heads, letting out a loud scream Sarah turned to the stand and kicked it down, then stomped on both of the bananas and buns into messy mush.
Stopping in the lane to catch their breaths, Double Dee looked back to make sure that Sarah isn't coming down after them. He is fully relieved to not see any sign of her. "I think we lost her."
"That was close." Eddy panted before throwing on an annoyed look. "That darn brat! We were just minding our own business of running a scam! Then she comes along ruining everything!" To show off his aggravation over this turn of events, Eddy kicks the dirt that flew and hit against the wooden boards.
"Sorry Eddy. Sarah's been awfully angry lately. I think she's under the influence of Evil Tim." Ed said as if that was a reasonable explanation.
"No Ed." Double Dee corrected. "Sarah's is in grieving and unfortunately some people grief in extreme emotions from sadness to anger. As I said so before earlier at school."
"She's lucky that she didn't get a hold of my money." Eddy interjected with his jar of money tucked firmly under his arm. Speaking of money, Eddy checked it and formed a smile for they just had enough to get jawbreakers for all three of them. "Despite that setback. Guess what boys? We have enough for jawbreakers!"
"Jawbreakers!" Ed happily shouted. "Yum! Yum! Yum!"
"You got that right lumpy." Eddy replied with a smirk.
"Well then gentlemen. Let us go get those delicious orbs shall we." Double Dee chimed in with glee.
Quickly the Eds ran off towards the candy store. It's very rare for them to actually have a successful scam and keep the money without any angry kids taking it back or the Kankers stealing their money. When they are successful, it felt very good. Especially when they got jawbreakers in their mouths, suffice to say that today is very good for the three.
After separating from his friends to head home at sunset, close to the 7:00 curfew. Eddy entered his room from his backdoor and hopped onto his bed with a proud smirk on him with the after taste of jawbreaker in his breath. Placing his arms behind his head and crossing his right leg over his other leg, Eddy let out a relaxed sigh.
This day has been absolutely perfect for him: it had been the last day of school, he managed to avoid the Kankers, ran a successful scam, and finally to top it all up he had managed to enjoy a full jawbreaker. Yep. This had been a perfect first day of summer and maybe he'll have another great day tomorrow, that is if his luck doesn't catch up with him. Plus he also has to think up of another scam for tomorrow.
As for right now however; all Eddy could think of is what's going to be for dinner tonight? He'll have to wait awhile for both of his parents will be home in about a half hour from now. Now what should he do now? Perhaps he could have a read with one of his magazines. Leaning to the edge of his bed, Eddy reaches for underneath it as that's where he stores them.
"Knock! Knock!"
Eddy jumped in fright and looked up in alarm towards the door for was his parents back home early? "Mom? Dad?" He called out.
Louder knocks rang against his door, shaking it a bit from its hinges. "Alright! Hold your horses already!" Jumping out of bed, Eddy opened up his door, only to reveal that no one was there.
"What the?" Looking left and right down the hallway, Eddy looked for anyone that had knocked on his door. Casting his gaze towards the floor, Eddy's eyes went wide in excitement for right there on the floor is a quarter.
He snatched up the quarter as quick as a flash, Eddy just stuffs it into his pocket when he noticed another quarter on the floor, which by looking up Eddy had discovered a quarter trail. This is absolutely great! Money free for the taking! And since they were in his house that means the quarters are automatically his.
Fallowing the trail Eddy gleefully picks up the quarters, he goes down the hall, up the stairs, down the second floor hallway, and right into his brother's room which is mysteriously opened despite it being firmly locked up earlier in the day.
Eddy had picked up the last quarter in the middle of the room and stuffed it in his filled up pockets. This was when he noticed on where exactly he is at. When Eddy realized that he is in his brother's room, he felt unpleasant memories from whenever his brother dragged him in here. It made him shiver from thinking about that game "uncle", his brother very well loved to play. Then there is the conditioning his brother had made him go through in order to run his own scams.
No one knew on what his brother had been really like, especially not Double Dee and Ed. The persuade of his brother being cool has to be kept up in order for them and maybe others one day will think that he is cool. It's the only way for people to like him, if they think he had an awesome brother.
But now, the more Eddy stood here, the more he wanted to leave. Eddy turns to do so when a creaking sound filled his ears, slowly turning towards the closet. Eddy's eyes widen as a hand pushed it open to reveal his brother who smirked at him as he stood in the closet. "How's it going pipsqueak?"
"Bro!" Eddy jumped into the air in absolute panic for what is his brother doing here? Wasn't he supposed to be far away? And wasn't supposed to come back unless he informed mom and dad first.
His brother meanwhile stepped on out of the closet with that smirk growing wider. "Whatcha doing in my room? You know that you're not allowed in here."
"I-I was just getting these quarters bro. Honest." Eddy stuttered, he couldn't move from how scared he felt right now.
"Sure you did pipsqueak. But I know that you just want to play our favorite game of Uncle." The smile on his brother's face grew even wider, making Eddy's fear to grow more deeper. "No! Please anything but that!" He pleaded as he backed away from his advancing brother.
"Don't deny it. I know you really want to play it. I can give you a indian burn. Throw you against the wall. Punch you until your nose bleeds. Oh, there are so many ways to play. I can just hardly contain myself." The smirk on his brother's face now opens up to reveal that his teeth are sharp. He leans forward to grab Eddy, but Eddy turns and runs, he felt his brother's fingers grip the back of his shirt that thankfully slipped out of them.
Racing out of the room, Eddy ran through the hall, down the stairs, and down the hall leading towards his room. Behind him he could hear his brother chasing after him, while making all sorts of insults and threats at him. Eddy just makes it back into his room, he slams the door shut and locked it where shortly after doing that his door shook as banging and pounding came from the other side. "Open up and take your medicine you little freak!"
Backing away from the door, Eddy feared that his brother is going to bust right on through the door any minute now. Looking over to his closet, Eddy runs right in and shuts that door. Now inside his closet, Eddy backed up all the way to the wall as he feared for the worst. His brother is going to come in here and give him a good beating until he is left unconscious with bruises covering his body just like on the day before he left.
But suddenly the banging stops and everything went quiet. Eddy remained where he is at for all that he knew his brother left and is going to enter from the back door. It is very tense for Eddy who is reduced to a quivering mess of fear. Suddenly he hears something on his right, Eddy looks and sees a red balloon floating right beside him with a message written on it. "See ya very soon, pipsqueak."
The balloon pops, leaving Eddy to sit there in his fears as he wondered on what happened to him tonight.
