"I've already told you all I- *WACK*"Blood shot out of his mouth and splattered on the white and blue tile floor.

He coughed and groaned from the pain and blood going down his throat. But as he was about to speak again Wam! Another smack from the heavy wooden Bobby stick against his mouth. The metal rod inside the stick made the already hard walnut baton a devastating weapon.

"Now's not the time to keep your mouth shut Micah. I'll beat you till you can't walk out of here"

Archers face was damp and perspiring from the humid dimly lit room. It's only means of cooling was a old rusty ceiling fan that lazily spun with a audible click every rotation, no windows and only one heavy wooden door that had steel bracing around its edges.

Micah spit out some of his broken front teeth and blood onto the wooden table that was in front of him. His lips were split like someone took a razor to them. They were bleeding profusely onto his chin and down his neck

"Heh you don't scare me BOY! Let me know if they are gonna send a man to do the job properly"

Micah spit another mouthful of blood onto Archers white shirt, staining it with the crimson liquid.

Micah was chuckling as Archer groaned in disgust.

Archer pulled the dense stick back and whipped it right into Micahs right ear and smashed it into a bloody pulp. The force of the blow sent Micah and the chair he was tied to onto the floor on his left side.

Micah growled out a odd sound of anger and pain as his most likely burst eardrum was bleeding onto his face

"Archer!" Archer spun around and immediately stood at attention

"Sir!"

"That's enough!"

Agent Ross clicked his tongue and went over to micah and picked him back up into his seated position.

He sat down in front of Micah on the interrogation table. He took out a cigar and handled it calmly as he lit it with a wooden match. He took some puffs and blew the smoke out towards the ground

"Now. Mr. Bell. You said you would work with us. this, Doesn't look like a helpful partnership so far" Ross's demeanor was unnervingly calm.

It made Micah nervous and he spoke in such a way that said he was fearful of Ross. "I-I have been helpful! I don't have anything else to say! And your dog! Back here has been beating up on me ain't asked me one question!"

Ross raised his hand palm towards Micah to silence him. He obliged. Ross let his hand fall to his lap and took a long drag of his cigar.

"Mr. Bell. You seem tense. Calm down. Care for a smoke?" Ross held out his hand with his lit cigar towards Micah.

Micah tentatively nodded yes.

Ross put the cigar in his bloody mouth and let him take a few drags

"Now. You said he hasn't asked you any questions. Now that's a fair point. Isn't it Archer? He can't exactly answer something you haven't asked, silly boy"

Archer nodded and spoke in a calm tone of voice "Yes, how silly of me"

Ross chuckled softly and sighed as he finished laughing. All while Micah sat and dragged harder on the cigar, his worry and fear grew as Ross seemed to be getting frighteningly friendly towards him "Ahh yes. Silly to expect you to answer something you haven't been asked" he smiled and put his hand on Micah cheek as he said this

"Silly, like how we were supposed to deal with Dutch's dynamite and two outlaws that killed thirty of our men! When our informant didn't tell us!"

Ross had a deep scowl as he said this. He gripped the back of Micah's neck and used the other hand to push the lit cigar into his mouth. Archer came and held Micah from behind as he trashed around as the cigar burnt his mouth. Ross took out his straight razor and while holding Micahs mouth shut with his left hand, he used his right hand to wield his razor and quickly cut from Micahs cheek bone all the ways to his eye and cut right through it. It made a sickening slick wet sound as he pulled the cold sharp steel through his eye socket and through the meat of his eyebrow as well.

Micah screams were muffled by the wad of burning tabocco that was choking him now.

Ross pulled away and Archer did the same. Micah coughed out the burning cigar, a pile of wet tabocco and blood with chips of teeth were on Micahs lap now.

"AGHH! Y-you sick old FOOL!" Micah yelled out at Ross

Ross scoffed and quickly grabbed Micah by the jaw and held the blade to his other eye "Shut. your. mouth"

Micah shuddered slightly as he saw the bloody sharp steel right next to his good eye

"Now you will answer my questions. No backhanded comments, no disrespect, just an simple straight to the point answer. Or else you will live the rest of your life as a blind eunuch!"

Archer pulled out his pistol and aimed it right at Micahs crotch. Micah shuddered more urgently now as he felt the tip of Archers pistol at his groin.

"Do you understand!?" Ross growled out through clinched teeth

"Yes!"Micah cried out

"Now. Where did Dutch go? And who did he leave with?"

Micah shakily exhaled before he spoke "He w-went- He went north. Towards the border. Bill Williamson went with him, and Jav- J-Javier Escuella. He talked about meeting up with some of those injuns from that reservation in the north. But I split with them before that happened. But before I separated from them Bill and Javier were arguing with Dutch"

"What were they arguing about?"

"Some foolishness about not turning their backs on Arthur. Didn't care to listen to it "

"What about the other members of your little Posey?"

"The drunk pastor left a while back, same with the stupid girl Mary-Beth. Tilly left with Jack and Arthur, I don't know where she went either. Pearson left sometime ago as well. No idea where to. That negro Indian split off from us and was with those redskins up north. That's all I know I swear!"

Ross sighed and put the razor against Micah's eyebrow and put pressure against it "Who is the woman with the blonde hair?"

"Sadie?"

"Who is she!?"

The razor began to cut into his eyebrow

"Agh! She just some dumb widow we picked up in the Grizzlies. She has a shine for Morgan! Sadie Adler! Sadie Adler is her name!"

Ross sighed and pulled away from him and let his hands fall lamely to his sides. He took out another cigar. and with the same calmness, lit it and dragged on it in a slow calm manner.

Micah shakily exhaled and grimaced as the pain from his now blind eye ached from his sweat and blood mixing in the wound. He tentatively spoke towards Ross

"You... you said that two of our members killed thirty of your men?"

Ross nodded sternly once at Micah's question

"Which two?"

Ross chuckled softly before he spoke "Wouldn't you care to know"

Micah swallowed nervously as Ross smiled in a strange way as he said that. Like a lion smiling at his prey before he pounces on it.

"No. You don't get to ask questions. But answer me this Mr. Bell. You told our men before that you had a altercation with one Mr. Arthur Morgan?"

Micah nodded "Yeah"

Ross drew more smoke in his mouth and blew it at Micah "What happened between you two?"

Micah scoffed "What do you think happened old man"

Micah realized he shouldn't have said that as Ross immediately nodded at Archer once.

From behind Micah Archer swung his baton right at Micahs left hand, shattering it with a resounding *SNAP*

"AGHHH!" Micah yelled out.

Archer raised his hand and hit it again.

*SMACK* and again *SNAP* and again *SMACK* only after the fourth hit did Ross nod at Archer again to make him stop. By then Micahs yelling turned into a guttural growl as his left hand looked as if someone had run over it with a buggy cart. A bone protruded from the base of his hand by his wrist, the thin skin on top had split and ripped, exposing muscle and blood messily oozed out all over his hand and down the arm of the wooden chair and dripped down onto the floor.

Micahs breath labored as he gritted his teeth and glared at Ross. Ross scoffed and smirked at Micah as he calmly dragged on his cigar

"Wanna try answering that again?"

Micah took some deep breaths and closed his eyes to compose himself before he spoke "We had a little tussle. We beat on each other for a while. But me being here should tell you how that went. He was all but dead, Dutch saw it and I guess it startled him to see Arthur like that. That's when we separated and your men picked me up"

Ross nodded and pursed his lips slightly as he listened to Micah "Yeah, I can only imagine what a "rough outlaw" like you could do to another man with your hands. I bet you have a lot of experience using just your hands to finish off men" Ross chuckled softly and then chuckled harder a moment later at that.

Archer smirked and chuckled softly as well from behind Micah. Micah just scowled at Ross.

"Anything else old man?" Micah snaped out

"Careful Mr. Bell. Wouldn't want Archer to hit your right hand too. would you?" Micah quickly shut his mouth and clinched his hands

"No. I didn't think so. Now just one more question"

Ross stood up and went to a file cabinet in the corner of the room and got out a folder from the top. He opened it and took out a sketch and sat it in front on Micah on the table.

"Who is this?"

Micah looked at the drawn picture and saw a man in a suit in a alleyway.

"Wait is that?..."

Micah realized upon closer inspection who it was.

"Josiah. Josiah Trelawny. He's one of Dutch's men, soft strange kinda man. Can sure talk his way out of a jam. left a while back like the others"

"Any idea where he might have rode to?" Ross asked

Micah shook his head no

Ross sighed "He was sighted going south, towards St denis, which is where we spotted him. And y'know, it'd be a shame if that good eye of yours matched the other one"

Ross flicked open his razor and fiddled with it

"Where was he going to in St Denis?"

Micah nervously replied "I-I ain't sure i... I don't know much about the fella. He hasn't really been around since I've been with the gang"

Ross stood up, grabbed Micah, and put the razor against the bridge of his nose and sliced it open in one fluid motion

"Aghh!"Micah cried out as more of his blood came dripping out from the new cut

"Tell me what you do know about him you miserable weasel!"

"H-he hangs around for a few weeks at a time. Apparently he has something tha- that k-keeps him awa-away from"

Micahs stuttering irritated Ross "Spit it out boy!" Ross held the razor to Micahs right eyebrow

"He has a family somewhere!"

Ross lifted the razor and softened his tone "Where?"

Micah shook his head "I'm not sure. H-he leaves somewhere every now and again at random. For all I know he moves his family around as we move around. Only reason I know about it is because I read the little fairy's diary. only thing note worthy is that he has two sons, didn't specify where though"

Ross nodded and put away his razor. He gestured for Archer to unshackle him. Archer came over and unlocked him. As the cuffs fell off Micah used his good hand to hold his injured one close to his chest.

"That's all for now Mr. Bell. We'll be In touch" Ross nodded his head towards the door.

Micah stood up and turned to leave, he got to the door and opened it to meet another guard standing by it.

Ross came up behind Micah and spoke to the other agent "Take our friend here to the hospital and make sure he gets his wounds treated. Wouldn't want him getting sick now would we?"

The agent nodded his head.

Micah walked with the agent down the hallway a few steps before "Oh Mr. Bell?"

Micah stopped and turned towards Ross.

Ross walked over to him and pulled out a fresh cigar and put it in Micahs jacket pocket.

Ross smirked as he spoke to him "Something to remember me by"

Micah scowled slightly and nodded before turning around and walking with the agent out of the hallway.

"So, any ideas sir?" Archer asked.

Ross shrugged and turned around towards a window as he talked

"Oh a few. But firstly I want you and a group of our finest men combing through this city for this, Trelawny fellow"

Ross stood at the window at the end of the hallway and looked out at the very early morning streets of St denis

"Any idea where we should start sir?"

*CRASH*

a lit molotov hit the window Ross was at. It broke the window and almost hit Ross but he managed to bearly move back as it landed on the floor and lit the hallway on fire. Archer quickly grabbed a fire extinguisher from the wall and began shooting the water onto the flames. Ross coughed and scowled as the smoke and steam from the fire filled the hallway.

"First things first" Ross pulled out his pistol and began walking towards the stairs to go outside, Archer dropped the fire extinguisher after he put the flames out and quickly followed Ross downstairs.

It was chaotic, papers were scattered on the floor, desks were flipped over towards the front windows. A barrage of bricks and anything not bolted down on the streets were being thrown into the front two windows of the old building that Ross was using for his operation.

Everything from whiskey bottles, loose bricks from the street, horseshoes, boots, rocks, even street signs. They had thrown enough heavy stuff to break open the front double doors into a messy pile of splinters and large chunks of metal.

The agents and secretaries hid behind their desks, cowering in fear.

Ross turned to Archer "Get our men here and gather up these degenerates!"

"Yes sir!" Archer turned and went over to the back exit to go rally the spare men

Ross turned and yelled to the other three armed agents in the office "Get your spineless asses outside and deal with this! Now!"

A lone agent kneeling behind a office chair peaked out and spoke tentatively to Ross "B-but there's a lot out there. And they have weapons an-OWWW!"

Ross grabbed the agents ear like a mother would grab her disobedient child and dragged the agent past the broken glass and trash and threw him out, through the doors onto the street.

The crowd of at least twenty drunk men turned their onslaught of random heavy objects towards the lone agent.

They quickly did a half hazard stoning of the agent with beer bottles and bits of a broken bench from the curb.

The agent cried out in pain as he was very quickly bruised and bloodied from the blunt objects.

Ross shook his head and shot his pistol in the air. The crowd quickly scattered and left the agency, they then immediately went over to the police station next door and began doing the same thing they were doing before and hurled every heavy thing in sight at the officers through the windows

Ross sighed and shook his head in frustration.

"Savages" Ross said with disappointment in his voice

It was a hot morning, the humidity was so thick you could feel it as you breathed in. Like a thin vail of a hot vapor was touching everything and everyone at once. It was aggravatingly uncomfortable at how the simplest of actions made one perspire, so much so that it caused sweat to run down the faces of the children as they picked the pocket of a police officer. He quickly chased after the troublemakers down the street. Abandoning his watch in front of a exotic looking greenhouse.

Inside the greenhouse there was a man who was frantically packing crates with his valuables. From

Exotic rare animals pelts, to large beautiful snake skins, even rare orcids from the furthest reach of the northern hemisphere.

A slim man dressed in a deep purple suit that looked expensively crafted seemed to be very overwhelmed. He wiped the sweat off his brow with a dark red handkerchief. He mumbled to himself as he tried remembering all the various things he had in his study. "Now where did i... aha yes!" He remembered where he had stashed some of his things by his desk. He was so engrossed with his hunt for his valuables that he failed to notice the two rough outlaws that entered his place and stood in the threshold of his study.

"Ahem!... Algernon.." Arthur said trying to cut through the clatter of Algernon fervently digging through a pile of rubbish.

"Algernon!" Arthur yelled out

"AHHH!" Algernon cried out with a girlish scream

"Now who on earth!...oh... it's you Mr Mor... Morgan? Are you okay?" As Algernon turned around he saw how sickly and beat up Arthur looked.

Arthur had taken off his wool jacket and unbuttoned his collar because of the heat. He had his sleeves cuffed, the ends of them were stained with old blood that appeared brownish in color. His collar had old blood stains as well, his exposed skin from his upper chest to his rough hands were covered in dirt and small cuts. His hands were bandaged and dirty looking. Not only was his dirty appearance shocking, his sickness had progressed since Algernon had seen him last. Arthur's eyes were sunken in even further then before, his lips had lost most of their color. He had multiple bruises along his cheeks and eyes, his eyes also had this dull sheen to them that made Arthur look almost half dead. He also seemed to be underweight.

Algernon was taken aback at this. Before Arthur appeared to just be under the weather, his large frame was enough to slightly scare Algernon. But now his frame had withered into something very unimposing.

"Yeah *cough* I've been better" Arthur leaned against the red stained desk of Algernons study. He sat down his jacket on the counter and shakily breathed out in relief. Sadie sat her jacket down next to his. Algernon hadn't noticed her yet, she was in disarray as well. Her hair and face was cleaner then Arthur's, but her clothes were just as bad if not worse. She had rolled up her sleeves to her elbows, they were just as stained as Arthur's sleeves were. Her collar was undone as well, along her collarbone you could see multiple bruises and old dried blood near her shoulder and up her neck, bruises were all over her neck. It looked like someone had tried hanging her. Also you could see where blood had soaked through her shirt on her right shoulder. She also had a couple fairly noticeable bumps on her face by her temple. She had a very faint black eye as well.

"Oh my word Arthur... what is that ugly thing on your head?!" Algernon asked pointing at Arthur's hat, seemingly overlooking their rough appearances Algernon was mainly concerned about what was on Arthur's head. Arthur looked slightly offended at what he said. He gently put his hand on the old tattered hat.

Sadie scoffed slightly before she spoke "Really? We're standing here bloody, dirty, exhausted and the first thing you ask about is his hat?!"

Arthur had picked up this hat at Hamishs cabin to replace his old one. It was a tan stalker hat that the rim of was chewed up looking, it also had multiple cuts and small holes in it.

"Oh um I lost my hat" Arthur said as he stifled a cough in his hand.

Algernon had a slightly sad look on his face as he spoke. Like a dejected puppy "W-what about the hat I gave you?"

Arthur slighty cringed as he remembered the bright hat Algernon gifted to him

"Oh that umm... I-"

They all turned as they heard shouting outside, muffled by the glass

"You men check over there, I'm gonna check in here" they saw the outline of a agent approaching through the dirty windows. Sadie quickly grabbed Arthur and pulled him past Algernon and under the desk.

"What are you-?"

"Please Algernon! Do me this favor and cover for u-" The bell rang as the agent walked through the door.

Arthur shut his mouth and tried to remain as still as possible with Sadie underneath the desk.

Algernon quickly without question put on a fake smile to hide his nervousness.

"Hello sir, we are currently closed but I am available. if I am of assistance?"

The agent walked up to the desk with a serious stern look on his face. Once he got there he pulled out a wanted flyer that had a sketch of a man with a mustache and handed it to him.

It read as follows;

"Have you seen this man? Goes by the name of Trelawny or Kilgore"

Arthur's ears perked up at this. "Trelawny?! How the hell do they know about him? He was always so careful" he thought in disbelief

Sadie was sweating so much that it was dripping off her face and nose onto the floor. It was hot and cramped under the desk. It was mainly the fact that another agent was less then a foot from her. She was nervous as hell that they'd be in another massive gunfight in this glass house.

Algernon looked at the picture for a long moment. He cleared his throat and spoke

"Umm... no. No I haven't. He does have a quite generic face so I might have seen him but forgotten it"

The agent curtly nodded once and pulled out two more flyers "What about these?"

He sat down both of them in front of him again.

One was a young woman. Mid to late twenties. It read as follows

Arthur was stifling a cough so he would not give up their position under the desk. Sadie put her hand over his mouth to help him keep in the harsh cough from escaping his throat.

The second flyer had a sketch of an slightly older man on it. Mid to late thirties.

"Oh umm.. I'm not sure?" Algernon said nervously

"Sir, I am obligated to inform you that any information about criminals withheld from an law enforcement agent is a crime and is punishable by hanging or time spent in prison"

The agent leaned in with his hands on the desk. "Do you know anything that would be helpful to our agency?"

Sadie took her hand off of Arthur after he succeeded in stopping his coughing fit. She grabbed her knife and was ready to explode out of the desk and kill the agent.

Arthur slowly pulled one of his revolvers out and pointed it at where the agent was standing, if need be he was ready to unload his revolver through the wood of the table.

Algernon swallowed slightly and quickly glanced down at the flyers on the desk but he was truly glancing towards where Arthur and Sadie were underneath the desk.

"This is a quite troublesome situation you have found yourself in Algernon" Algernon thought to himself.

He was conflicted but still sure of the decision he had to make.

Arthur held his breath and was praying that Algernon would not give them up. With how far his sickness has progressed and how beat up both Sadie and Arthur were, they would surely die if they were discovered in the agent filled city of St Denis.

"No. I'm sure that I would remember meeting such animalistic people as them. If I remember anything I'll contact your agency as soon as I learn anything"

The agent glanced at the two jackets on the counter in front of him and looked back at Algernon.

Algernon decided to not say anything about them unless he asked. He felt if he offered up information unprovoked it would arouse suspicion.

The agent squinted at Algernon as if he was trying to see if he was being deceitful.

Algernon swallowed his fear and steeled his eyes. It must have worked because the agent nodded and turned to leave.

"I'll leave those flyers with you. In case you do see them" He said this over his shoulder as he walked outside the green house.

Algernon breathed out a long breath that he didn't realize he was holding in. He sat down on his chair and put his hands on his knees as if he had just ran a great distance.

Sadie and Arthur came out from underneath the desk. Arthur patted Algernon on the shoulder.

"Thank you. I promise that I'll explain everything to you later. Bu- *cough*" Arthur started coughing hard. So hard that Algernon moved out of the seat and helped Arthur sit down where he was sitting. Sadie helped him sit by supporting his other side.

"I hope you don't mind me saying so Mr Morgan, but you seem absolutely dreadful right now"

Sadie handed Arthur the bottle of the makeshift drug as Algernon talked with him.

"Yeah *cough*cough* I'm in a bad spot. Turboculous. Nasty business *cough*"

Arthur sipped on the fluid in the bottle gingerly. It was almost completely empty.

"Oh my Arthur. I'm so sorry. Why have you come to me? I'm no doctor. And why are those men after you?"

"No time to explain. I came to you to see if you know anyone that might know more about treating this" Arthur pointed at his chest as he said this.

Algernon raised his eyebrows in surprise at this. "A-Arthur, how would I know who could fix this? I'm just a gentleman and exotic tailor"

"Because I figured that with as many rich and smart *cough* people you've done business with, that you might know some doctors or something"

"Arthur, I just make hats and accessories for stuck up snobs I'm afraid. Me having any dealings with doctors are rare"

"Algernon please, think hard. Have any doctors or whatever else mentioned anything about curing this or at least treating it? Anything at all?!" Arthur's voice was uncharacteristically nervous and desperate sounding.

Sadie hated seeing him so vulnerable like this, it made her furious and sad at the same time. She wanted nothing more then to take the sickness of Arthur away herself but she had no clue on how to help him.

Algernon shook his head no as he spoke

"Arthur I'm sorry but I don't know any doctors or... wait, actually... no. Never mind that. Maybe you should just take it easy an-"

Sadie intrupted him "Wait what do you mean never mind? What did you think of?"

Sadie got closer to Algernon as she said this. Slightly intimidating him

"Nothing! Just some crazy young man I met a while back that was on about some cure for most dieses. But I doubt that it'll be of any help-"

Sadie interrupted him again and her voice was stern and serious as she spoke to Algernon.

"Its not up to you to decide whether or not something is important! Tell me what you know about helping him NOW!" Arthur was gonna tell her to stop yelling but stopped when he noticed that she clinched her hands tightly and she was slightly trembling.

Arthur also couldn't see her face. She was facing away from him and was looking at Algernon. She was biting back tears by keeping her brows furrowed and lips tightly together. She had tears that were dangerous close to failing down her cheeks.

To say that Algernon was scared of her would be an understatement.

"I don't even know this woman but I don't know who she thinks she is, trying to order me around and..." Algernons train of thought was completely derailed when he looked in her eyes.

They were overwhelmingly emotional. They looked as if a storm was raging in her very soul and was pouring out her emotions for all to see. Her facial features were of someone who was angry but her eyes told a different story.

"Oh my... so much... hurt. Yes, so much deep hurt. Sadness and... I feel like I may cry by just seeing how much raw emotion she is pouring onto me" Algernon thought as he stared into her eyes.

Sadie was overwhelmed, Scared, and worried beyond all belief. She was so terrified of not being able to save Arthur that when Algernon started saying he couldn't help, something inside her snaped. The restraint she had on her feelings for Arthur was completely gone in this moment.

"P-Please" Sadie choked out. Her look of anger melted into a pain filled grimace.

Algernon felt like his heart was breaking by just seeing so much powerful raw emotion that was coming out of Sadie.

Arthur was dead silent, he was surprised at her reaction "Why is she so upset? She must've know as much as I did that this was hopeless" Suddenly Arthur remembered something

"Has it not occurred to you that she might be dealing with the same turmoil of emotions that you are at the present moment?"

Arthur hadn't believed the strange man, but now...

Arthur looked at her again, he couldn't see her face but the way she was slightly shaking and how her shoulders slumped, that said more then enough.

"She's worried about me. That goes without saying but... is the reason because she feels... like I do?" He suddenly remembered something else, something from a while ago.

It was at the gang's camp in the south by Rhodes.

"Okay old man! I say that there is at least five fours!" Sadie said this confidently as she looked underneath her cup that had her dice.

"Oh really?" Hosea said as he looked underneath his cup. "Well forgive me Miss Adler but I am calling you a liar!"

Hosea lifted his cup showing only three dice, one had three dots, one had four dots, and one had one dot.

Sadie smirked as she lifted her cup Revealing five dice. One had two dots, the other four dice had four dots.

"Ah hell!" Hosea said with a laugh.

Sadie just laughed at his frustration.

"Well my my Miss Adler. It appears you are a good liar, makes me proud"

"You being proud of me isn't gonna stop me from beating you" Sadie said with a grin on her face.

"Oh we'll see about that!"

They picked up their cups and shook the dice in them to mix them up and put them back down with the cup on top.

Arthur being intrigued by what they were doing, approached their table at the camp.

"What are you two doing?" Arthur asked with a quirk of his eyebrow

"Oh Arthur come quickly, this heartless thief before you is trying to rob this poor old man" Hosea said this with a fake tone of distress as he put a hand dramatically on his chest

Arthur chuckled as he spoke "Miss Adler! you should've told me! I would've help you do it"

Hosea and Sadie both laughed at this.

"So um. Just you two playing?" Arthur asked

"Oh not at first. We had Pearson and Abigail but Miss Adler over here busted them both out"

"Oh really? Got us one of them regular old con men here With Miss Adler then didn't we"

"It appears so Arthur it appears so"

"Oh hush, I didn't con nobody. They should learn how to play better" Sadie said with a soft smile.

"I heard that Sadie!" Abigail said from her spot at the campfire with a tone of frustration.

Sadie chuckled hard at that

"It was just dumb luck!" Abigail yelled out.

Sadie just stuck her tongue out at her like a five year old would do. Then Abigail did the same back, much to Jack's delight. He chuckled at his mothers goofy expression

Arthur chuckled at the two women sticking their tongues out at each other like kids.

"Care to join us Arthur? Sadie has me all but beat, so I think a reset for me would be a nice change of pace"

"Oh need a bodyguard old man? What's the matter? Afraid of getting beat by a girl?" Sadie said this with a cocky tone of voice

"A girl!" Hosea said with mock surprise.

"Well I'll be! This whole time i thought you were a flamboyant young man. On account of your strong jaw, Adam's apple and five'o'clock shadow"

Arthur just chuckled and sat down as the two exchanged childish insults

"Mind if I join too?" Mary Beth said as she pulled up a chair

"Oh no, Please" Hosea said as he gestured for her to sit down.

Soon the time passed further and further as the group of four played and joked with one another. Losing games, winning games, they didn't care about that. The merry time the group had was the most fun the group had had in a while.

Soon almost two hours had passed. Arthur had now just beat Sadie for a third time in a row, much to her frustration and making Hosea and Mary Beth snicker.

"Damn no good liar!" Sadie said with a huff as she threw her last die to the center.

Arthur shook his head left and right as he chuckled dryly "just not your night is it Sadie?" Arthur asked with a smirk on his face as he put his remaining four dice up

"Shut it Morgan" Sadie said this with a friendly small smile. She hated losing but was still enjoying playing with the group of outlaws.

"Well I appreciate you showing up to save my wallet from this cruel gunslinger here Morgan"

"Anytime Hosea, anytime"

Hosea stood up and stretched before he spoke. "Ladies, I am retiring for the evening. Thank you for the company"

Sadie and Mary Beth both told him good night as he left the table.

Arthur suddenly hissed in pain and grabbed his shoulder. Sadie noticed and was gonna say something but Mary Beth beat her to it

"You alright Mr Morgan?"

"Yeah. Just still nursing this gunshot wound in my shoulder. Its been feeling angry these last few days.

Heh heh I guess putting a hot file in a open wound will do that to you" Arthur said with a chuckle

"Yeah, you got lucky. Could've been a lot worse if it hit bone or you face instead of you shoulde-"

"Excuse me" Sadie stood up and began swiftly walking away

"Sadie? Everything okay?" Arthur asked concerned

Sadie stopped and turned back for a moment to answer before she kept walking

"Yeah, Fine. Just heading to bed, g'night" Sadie said this very curtly

"Okay... hmmm wonder what's going on with her?"

Mary Beth sighed and shook her head at this.

Arthur turned to her "what?" He asked confused

"You boys wouldn't see a anvil falling outta the sky till it hit you"

"What are you talking about?" He said perplexed

She simply raised her eyebrows and leaned in closer as she looked at Arthur

"What?!" He said even more confused

She scoffed and rolled her eyes. Mary Beth then nodded her head in the direction of Sadie.

He turned and saw her sitting at the edge of camp, looking at the large flat lake. The moonlight was softly dancing as the breeze gently pushed and pulled the water, making the mirror like surface of the lake distort and shift the beautiful light of the moon. Distorting it in a very beautiful almost poetic way, bending and curling the soft blue hued light. It appeared as if the bright orb in the sky was made of molten metal that poured into the water and cooled, leaving a trail of sparkling waves in the water. Sadie seemed to be in deep thought as she sat there and took in the view that the sky was putting on display

"Okay. Sadie sitting... and?" Arthur said as he turned back to Mary Beth

"She didn't want to hear about how injured you got!" She said exasperated

"Okaaay... why?" Arthur asked, still clueless

Mary Beth groaned In frustration "She was worried about you! You do know that right?"

Arthur cocked his head to the side confused

"While you were gone she was worried sick about you. She won't admit it but she practically sprinted to see you when you came back"

He turned back to Sadie and looked at her back as she took her hat off and fiddled with it

"She was really worried about you Arthur. You should've seen the fire in her eyes after she found out that you had been taken. She almost got into a fist fight with Dutch over it"

Arthur sat there as he thought about this and was even more confused

"Why? Why was she so worried about ME?"

Mary Beth shrugged "Why indeed" She got up and started to walk back to her tent

"What do you mean by that?!" He said still very confused

"Like I said. You won't see it till it hits you"

Arthur just sat there and thought about what Mary Beth had said. He noticed how Sadie had taken off her boots over by the water and was leaning back onto her hands on the ground. He felt a strong want inside himself that all but screamed at him to join her. He didn't. For fear of disturbing her peace. He instead sat there and decided to sketch a picture of her watching the moon over the lake. He must've spent at least twenty minutes doing a rough sketch of her. He saw her stir and get up to go to sleep.

He decided that he'd finish his drawing later, but something still nagged at him. He had an idea for a name of his sketch. He usually didn't give his drawings a title but he decided to give this one a title that he thought was very fitting.

Below the sketch of Sadie's silhouette and the beautifully drawn picture of the moon he simply put.

"The Anvil"

Arthur just silently shook his head

"Oh what a miserable fool i am. She does care about me. But I don't...she doesn't... aghh " he thought to himself, so frustrated that he couldn't even finish his own thought.

Sadie gathered herself and regained some of her composure. "Please Algernon, anything would be helpful at this point"

Algernon was touched at how strong her feelings were. Even only seeing her for a moment told him more then enough. "Whoever this lady is, she clearly cares for Arthur. Well any friend of Arthur is a friend of mine!" Algernon thought to himself.

"I'm not sure if it's helpful but. I may know or did know someone that might be of assistance. But he lives very far away, England to be precise. So that won't be much help for you considering... how long of a trip and.. I don't mean to sound cold but, Do you think that you're body can withstand traveling thousands of miles?" Algernon said this with a tone of sympathy in his voice.

Sadie almost cried out loud at that. She couldn't, no. Would not accept that.

"How on earth can he travel that fa-!"

"I can try" Arthur said gently.

Sadie turned to him shocked. She went to protest but Arthur beat her to it.

"If I don't try I for sure will die. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. You may not like it Sadie, but I AM dying. I might as well die trying to get better instead of dying here not trying like this"

Sadie shook her head. "And just how do you plan on getting there?! You gonna swim the whole way there!?"

Algernon interjected "Ahem! I have a proposal!"

Sadie and Arthur turned to him

"Well I still feel very grateful for all that Arthur did for my well to be perfectly blunt, foolish self. I am happening to be heading to England! This evening actually. I'm getting on a boat that will begin the long trip overseas. If you wish to go Arthur I can sneak you on board with some of my luggage?"

"You'd be willing to do that? Just helping us could get you in some serious trouble" Arthur said thoughtfully

Algernon just scoffed slightly "Of course Arthur. You've been a good friend to me. After all, I may be a bit of a sissy but my mother did not raise someone who rats out his friends" Algernon flashed a warm friendly smile at Arthur and Sadie.

Sadie just shook her head in frustration and was about to object once again but Arthur stopped her by gently grabbing her hand.

They locked eyes as Arthur spoke.

"I appreciate your concern and thoughtfulness Sadie but let's face it, my chances *COUGH* chances are between slim and none. If I'm gonna go out, I'm gonna go out fighting. *COUGH*COUGH*"

Arthur cleared his throat before he continued. His strong intense stare into Sadie's eyes almost scared her. She felt like she was melting under his gaze.

He spoke firmly and seriously

"I need you Sadie, for this and more. I wouldn't have made it this far without you"

Sadie was taken back by the seriousness of his words. He doubled down to show how much he meant it.

"I need you Sadie, I truly do. Spending time with you has made this whole manhunt an enjoyable time" he finished with a loving warm smirk

Sadie was overwhelmed by his words. She felt hot tears well up behind her eyes so much that it almost hurt for her to hold them back. She was desperately trying to keep her tears from spilling out, she did not want to sob in front of him anymore then she had already. His words had a almost soothing effect on her achey heart. After composing herself once again with a few deep breaths she answered

"O-okay Arthur. If you want to do this, I'll help you"

Her stern expression softened as a ever so faint gentle smile tugged at her lips as she squeezed his hand softly.

Arthur nodded once to her and turned towards Algernon "We'll go with you Algernon. And thank you for your help"

Algernon held his hands up by his sides and shook his head gently "No no, please. It's nothing compared to the wild goose chase I sent you on. In fact, is there anything else I can help you two with?"

"Actually Algernon there is" Arthur cleared his throat and wiped his mouth clear of any blood or spit.

"What do you need Mr Morgan?"

Arthur walked over to the desk and pointed at the mustache wearing man.

"This man, he's good people. I owe him, now he's in the city so *COUGH* so I'm not really sure I can go through there without being recognized. But I can't send you because he'll most likely not go with you, or shoot you. But since they're hunting him too it's only a matter of *COUGH* matter of time before they get him. What I need from you Algernon is something that you are quite experienced with" Arthur turned around and looked at the numerous amounts of boxes and creates that had outfits and dress clothes in them.

"And what is that Morgan?" Algernon asked, his curiosity peaked

"What I need from you is an outfit"

Algernon simply blinked once, twice, three times, and on the forth blink Arthur became slightly nervous as Algernon without warning burst out with glee

"OOOH! I thought you'd never ask! First the hat and then some new boots- NO not boots WINGTIP SHOES! AND THEN!"

Arthur intrupted him "Algernon! I don't need a makeover. I just need something you can quickly whip together so I can pass unnoticed through the city. Nothing too flashy, no wingtip shoes or fancy hats. Blend in, not stand out"

Algernon pouted slightly and grumbled about "no fun" and "ask for help and.."

He murmured to himself as he pulled out some black dress pants and a black vest that matched. He then went over to another box and began pulling out some other things like a blue dress shirt and a black flat worn out workers cap. "Here, you wanted boring normalcy. Hows this!?"

Arthur nodded once "Yeah, this should work"

Algernon just crossed his arms with a huff.

Arthur took the clothes and went into the changing room in the back of Algernons study and put them on. He looked at himself in the mirror He had a flat black cap, a blue work shirt that was unbuttoned and had the sleeves all the way to his wrists.

He also had a worn out looking black vest and black dress pants that looked as if someone had used them as work pants. Paint and oil stains were all over the vest and pants.

He also had a old worn out looking gun belt that held a slightly rusty cattleman revolver. To finish it off Algernon had also given him a red handkerchief to tie around his neck.

Arthur came out fully dressed in his worker disguise and gave Algernon his old clothes and gun belt as he asked

"Well?"

Sadie just stifled a snicker badly as she saw him, much to his displeasure.

"Arthur you can put the handkerchief on your face too, like a mask" Algernon said as he observed his outfit.

"You don't think that a *COUGH* that a man wearing a mask in the middle of *COUGH* of a city will arise suspicions"

"True but a sick man coughing that's wearing a mask won't draw much attention. If anything it'll keep them away" Algernon said this as he sat down on a crate and packed away Arthur's old clothes and guns.

Arthur actually thought that was a good point. "I guess yeah. Sadie, any input?"

Sadie shook her head left and right before she spoke. "Nope, just please don't give me such a foolish looking outfit too" Sadie said as she smirked at Arthur.

Arthur looked down and rubbed the back of his head as she said this

Sadie noticed him stiffening up and acting nervously all the sudden "What? What'd I say?"

"Uhh about that Sadie. I uhh... I think it'll be best if you... if you don't go with me to get Trelawny" Arthur said tentatively as he looked up and made eye contact with Sadie

Sadie widened her eyes in shock at his statement "Yeah, you wanna try running that by me again?!" Sadie said with a hint of anger in her voice

"There's dozens if not hundreds of agents in the city, it'll be easier to slip by unnoticed for one person"

"Arthur, that's exactly why I AM going with you. If you think for even a moment that I'd let you go into a city crawling with agents, you got another thing coming"

"I just want you to be safe Sadi-"

"I am not some defenseless little girl! I will be fine!" Sadie stood proudly and firmly as she said this. Her will was ironclad, she wouldn't let him leave without her.

Arthur recognizing her determination, conceded to her "Okay Sadie, You win. Algernon, get her an outfit"

Sadie nodded once, happy that she had won their little argument. Or so she thought. "Umm Sadie? Will these fit?" Algernon asked from behind Sadie. As She turned around to Algernon to look at what he had Arthur came up behind Sadie and gave her a solid smack with the handle of his rusty revolver to the back of her head. He was careful to not injure her but to use enough strength to knock her unconscious. As she fell to the ground Arthur caught her in his arms.

"Why on earth did you do that!?" Algernon asked concerned

Arthur pulled her over to a chair and sat her down.

"Because. This is most likely a suicide mission. If someone is gonna die... it's gonna be me. Not her"

Arthur sat her hat that fell off her head onto her lap. Arthur bent over and gently moved a stray piece of her hair off of her face. He then softly rubbed her forehead and temple with the palm of his hand. He whispered caringly as he did this

"Sorry Sadie. Forgive me" Arthur stood up and walked over to Algernon.

"It's not much but here" He handed Algernon a small amount of paper dollars

"It's about a hundred bucks or so. Not nearly enough to repay you but it's all I have. Please take her *COUGH* take her with you on the boat"

"What about you Morgan!?" Algernon asked concerned

Arthur gently smiled at him as he spoke "I gotta help an old friend. We'll try to meet up with you at the boat later. When does it depart?"

"It's leaving at 10:30AM. It's called "The Tin Sparrow" it's on the east side of the docks. Bright white and blue. Can't miss it"

Arthur nodded and looked at his pocket watch. It was 8:23AM

"Okay. Got it" Arthur turned and went to the back door to leave.

As he touched the door handle Algernon called out "Wait!" Arthur stopped and turned to him

"What if your not there before we leave?"

Arthur had a ghost of a smirk

"Well, I guess you'll have less people to sneak onboard"

"What about... her?" Algernon asked as he gestured to Sadie on the chair.

Arthur's facial features turned stern and seriously as he said this.

"Tell her I'm sorry. And to please not be mad. Tell her I'm grateful and thankful for everything she did for me. But that I had to do this *COUGH* I had to do this for my friend. It would be selfish to ask her to do more for me after she's already *COUGH* already done so much... tell her... and tell her..."

Arthur gripped the door handle tightly to calm himself

"And tell her that It was a foolish thing to try to save me. That it was reckless and stupid... but that I loved her more because of it... please tell her to NOT come for me again"

Algernon was shocked at his confession

"Arthur if I tell her all that she will most definitely try to go and save you..."

Arthur smiled in a odd sad kind of way

"I know... tell her that after the boat has left"

And with that he opened the door and went to save Trelawny, or at least try to.
