Alice POV
Jasper and I just had the time of our lives in my closet. I had missed him so much and he did not disappoint. Our equal attraction brought our lips together, we didn't even have to say anything. We are mates after all. I didn't initially plan to have sex with Jasper today, but seeing him with Leah made my blood boil. I did not like how she made him put his hand on her waist.
They were too touchy of a couple. I had visions of Jasper on a nightly basis ever since we broke up. Even with Jake, I was thinking of Jazz. I deeply regretted the actions I took that decided our separation. I thought that I wouldn't get my Jazzy back.
Jake and I adopted a sweet girl named Journey. I didn't want to tell Jasper this, I knew his reaction would be negative and could possibly endanger our chances of getting back together. I saw Journey as just a little time occupier. Jake can spend time on somebody else for once. While, I go back to Jazz and get my life back.
I quickly cleaned the mess that Jazz and I caused. I strutted over to him, crossing his arms, deep in thought.
"Jazzy, we can go now."
"Alice, I-"
"I'm sorry too." I said quickly, claiming his lips and deepening our kiss. He put his hands lightly on my waist, pulling me towards his lap. We made out for a few minutes, our tongues pushing and pulling on one another.
His lips stopped moving against mine when we heard a sudden shout. It was Leah. She was calling Jasper's name. I snarled against his lips when he pulled away. Jasper was mine. I firmly gripped his wrist and stared at him with ambitious eyes.
"Alice- She's calling me. Stop." Jasper protested.
"I don't care. You are mine." I growled.
"I'm not. You are Jake's and I am Leah's."
"Bullshit. I am yours and you are mine. It's always been this way, Jazz."
"You chose this, not me." Jasper whispered. That stunned me. My grip loosened and he quickly stood up.
"Jazz…" I groaned, but he was already out the door. Now, I felt like crying. Great.
I closed the door behind me in a sad state. What Jazz said was absolutely true but it still burned to the core. I never meant to choose Jake over him. It was just bad timing with Leah coming around. Even Jake knew that Jasper meant the world to me. The last few months had been absolutely terrible since Jazz cut contact. I was only able to see him in flashes of vision and even then it was him and Leah. I hated her with all my being. The harshest vision was when Jazz confessed that he loved Leah. I don't know if it was an overreaction or he was just saying it, but it really hurt me. It took years before Jasper had the ability to say those words to me when we first met. And then, he kept saying it to me and only me.
I walked down the stairs halfway to see that a lot of the party had cleared. Jake had started kicking people out. I turned my head towards the kitchen where Jasper and Leah were talking. I hissed. Jazz must have noticed my jealousy as his head quickly flicked to me.
Our eyes met and I scowled at Leah's jealous reaction. She has no right. No fucking right.
"Did you two talk yet?" Jake asked, putting his hands on my waist. I turned up at him.
"A little. It's okay." I lied. I squinted my eyes and stared at Jasper and Leah again. She was putting her hands on his face. I was fucking LIVID.
I needed to get Jasper's number before he left. If I could take away anything from our little fling it would be regaining connection.
I had to rein myself in. I can't show Jake that I'm still not over Jazz. "They look good together." I said.
"They do. But, I must say we are a power couple. Did you see how many eyes were on us?" Jake chuckled. I smirked. Yes, it was true. The entire neighborhood saw Jake and I move in. A supremely rich and beautiful couple moved in and we were the talk of the town. I had much enjoyed this side of life, the life of a rich socialite, sex and parties. If only Jazz had any interest in that side. I would be with him instead of Jake.
"As always." I said, wrapping my arms around Jake. I wanted to see Jasper's jealousy. But, Leah had dragged him away. My visions flashed with the two making out. I growled without meaning to.
"Jasper and Leah are leaving, I need to talk to them quickly." I muttered quickly. I needed to interrupt them. I pushed past some remaining people to find Jasper sitting in the living room. Leah was on his lap, going for the kiss. I called, "Jazz, can I speak to you real quick?"
Leah paused.
"About? We're sort of in the middle of something." Leah snarked.
Jasper silently stared. He could surely feel the waves of jealousy pulsing off of me.
"Oh, I just wanted to get Jasper's number before you two left."
Leah's eyebrow rose. She turned to me aggressively. "I'm sorry, with all due respect. I'm not letting that happen."
My jaw twitched. This bitch. "Uh- why?"
"Look, I'm sure you haven't forgotten what happened. Jasper is still hurt by your little betrayal. If you think you can get his forgiveness so easily- Never mind, just walk away. You have nothing good to add to Jazz's life." Leah barked with venom.
I had plenty to add. Much more than her. She's just jealous that Jasper can never truly give his heart one hundred percent to her. Jasper much prefers a girl like me. Even I knew that.
"I'm sure Jasper can speak for himself." I lightly added, motioning towards him. He was silent and pensive.
"Leah's right. I'm sorry, Alice. But it's for the best. It's still too soon." Jasper said calmly.
Oh. I was filled with sudden sadness. I almost whimpered right there. Jasper didn't want to? I thought he wanted this. Upstairs, he was much more responsive to me. Did seeing Leah change his mind?
"Oh, okay. No worries." I pouted. I made eye contact with Jazz. Imploring him. I needed to see him in private. Leah's presence was affecting his decision making.
I walked off and immediately heard the sound of Leah kissing him, repeatedly. My fists clenched. I wanted to kill her.
I needed to catch Jasper in a moment where he was alone. I searched my visions. Nope. Leah was refusing to leave his side. This was bullshit. If only I could- Wait. Jasper's blood lust. It was the one thing we had in common that both Jake nor Leah could understand. If I slit just one of these humans. I mean- we both will likely succumb but it would give us both a moment to be with each other. It was cruel, sure. But, I needed this.
No, Alice. What are you thinking? I couldn't kill an innocent person just to see Jasper for a few minutes.
"Fuck." I whispered to myself.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Oh, Jake. Don't you want to talk to Leah more?"
"No, I mean we talked a lot and there really wasn't much to say." Jake muttered, grabbing a beer from the fridge.
"What did you two talk about?"
"Leah wants kids."
I turned to stone. Kids? What the fuck? With MY Jasper? No, I won't let her. I won't let her marry Jasper, and I certainly won't let her have his kids. He was MINE.
"She needs to stop smoking crack." I was livid. I couldn't hide it. Jake could tell now. I did not care. I was going to rip her apart if she even attempted to have children with Jasper.
"Alice, I thought- Look, Jasper and Leah are together now. You have to accept that!"
"Bullshit! Leah is a conniving bitch. She needs to learn a lesson." I snarled.
"Alice, babe. Come on, now. It's been like 7 months. Do you really want to go back to that moody boring relationship?" Jake asked. He didn't realize that even though I despised Jasper's tendencies of being too sensitive, there were parts that I loved about him. He was extremely thoughtful and always knew how to cheer me up. His ability was never controlling and he was selfless above all else. I clung to his anniversary present everyday since we separated.
"I don't want to go back, I just don't want her anywhere near Jasper. She's not a good person." I snarled. I absolutely wanted to go back, but I still wanted Jake at my fingertips. To be perfectly honest, it did not matter who it was, I would not let another woman get with Jasper unless that woman was me.
"What makes you say that?"
"She smokes, she probably does drugs. She won't be a good mother. She is lazy and doesn't work. She is violent, I wouldn't be surprised if she beats Jasper behind the scenes." I lamented.
"Alice, we both know that some of those things are exaggerations." Jake sighed. He was getting unnerved by my sudden jealousy of Leah. That mention of Leah having kids with Jasper threw me over the edge. Just the thought sent chills down my spine.
I suddenly had a vision of Jasper and Leah getting up to leave. This was my last chance. I brushed Jake aside and ran up to Jasper.
"Jazz, please." I said simply. He looked down at me, holding his arm. I used my patented puppy dog eyes and implored him.
Leah growled. Jasper turned to her quickly and asked her to wait outside. Yes!
Finally, Jasper and I were private more or less.
"Alice, we can't keep this up." Jasper said quietly. He was talking quiet enough where only us vampires could hear.
"Okay, but I just want your number. We don't have to meet. I just want to be able to call and text you." I pouted. It was true. I just wanted to hear Jasper's voice sometimes.
"Okay. But that's all." Jasper relented, retrieving his phone from his pocket. He changed phones the moment we separated.
"Jazz, what's this talk of you and Leah having kids?" I hissed.
"Who told you that?" Jasper didn't look up from his phone. He seemed distracted. I was pouring with envy and anger. He knew how much it upset me. Jasper was one of the only people who knew that some of my want to be human stemmed from wanting children. Only Rose and Edward knew as well.
"Jazz, don't tell me that's true." I sobbed, hugging his chest. He didn't pull away. He knew how upset that made me.
"It's not. Alice, I have no intention to do that right now. I can barely resist blood, I don't want to endanger our child."
"Right now? So you will when you've conquered your lust? Jasper! She is not your mate. I am!"
"Alice, I don't know. It hasn't been that long. Maybe Leah's the one, maybe she's not. It's too early to tell."
"She's not." I growled.
"We don't know that."
"She's not." I repeated.
"I have to go. Here." Jasper wrote down the number and shoved it into my hand.
"Love you, Jasper." I said quietly as he left the house. I stood there, at the door. I bit my nails and lingered where he once was. I was getting him back. No matter what.
I will kill Leah.
