Earlier. Much Earlier. Pohatu found himself awakened on the shores of a great desert that, besides the shoreline, expanded into sand for miles and miles. When he awoke, he felt… powerless… weak. He stood up and decided to look around his area. A canister. The one he awoke from. It contained something. Something… strange. A strange, brown, tribal looking mask. It looked… scary. He didn't know what it was for. So, he did the only reasonable thing. He donned it. And when he put it on, an Incredible surge of power started to course through his form! It felt almost too much! Before it could get even more intense, Pohatu took the mask off. Unsurprisingly, his power now started to drop. But then, it stopped. 'The mask activated it.' He thought. 'But the power is in me.' Suddenly, the mask dissapeared! Pohatu had many thoughts in his head. What was that power? Who was he? What was he? Where was he? But he had no answer to theae questions. He looked around, hoping to see more than just an expanse of sand, sand, and more sand in his horizon. But soon, his eyes landed on a mass of rocks. Strange. He decided to walk over and investigate. It took him quite a while, but he didn't have to walk to far to get to what seemed to be an entrance. The entrance was big. And of course, made of a mass of rocks. Pohatu knew nothing but his name, and yet, the place gaurded by the gate seemed… familiar. Pohatu didn't know why, he was sure he had never been there, but, something about it seemed… familiar to him. He walked over to the stone gate, and tried to push it open. Locked. Of course. He felt a slight frustration creep into his head, but calmed down. He tried again, and failed again. Then again. Then a third time. The gate remained locked. Pohatu frowned. This wouldn't do. There had to be some way inside. How else would he be able to assess this familiarity? Pohatu then decided that it was time to do something unorthodox. He started to kick the gate. Nope. At this point, Pohatu had let his frustration get to him. He stamped his foot down in frustration. But then watched in awe as a strange yellow energy was sent from it into the ground, and then through the ground into the gate. The rock gate split in half, and fell with a THUD*. Pohatu walked into the large rock village. Lots of domed huts made of sand. Pohatu looked around, and started to hear whispers. He turned around just in time to see small, humanoid beings duck behind the walls of their home. He tilted his head in confusion, and started to speak. "Hello? is anyone here?" Silence. Still silence. Pohatu started to worry. Maybe these people were scared, most likely terrified of him. He heard more whispering. "Another visitor?" "Could he be a Toa?" "He looks like one. Unlike the last Visitor." Pohatu sighed. Great. More strangers scared of him. Well, whatever the reason they were hiding be in their huts, at least he had found them. "I am no threat to you. I am sorry if my presence scares you." The whispering stopped, and he heard footsteps approach. "Maybe it's Toa Pohatu?" That caught his attention. Someone knows his name? Maybe they must know more about him. The small villagers came out of hiding to inspect him. "He really looks like a Toa." A villager said, awestruck at Pohatu's appearance. "Someone get the Turaga!" Another shouted. Then, more footsteps where heard. Pohatu turned around to see a humanoid being, taller than the rest, but still quite short. He looked up to Pohatu. 'This must be the Turaga.' Pohatu thought. The Turaga had orange skin, short, white, wild hair, and various red "scars" around his body. He had an orange rhombus shaped gem on his shoulder, A white and gold sash on his torso, baggy brown pants, an orange and gold cummerbund around his wast, and brown sandals. He held a brown hammer with a very tall handle. "We've been awaiting your arrival Toa Pohatu."
Turaga Onewa, a small Jasper Gem, calmly searches around his hut while Pohatu watches in confusion. Soon, the Turaga smiles. He grabs a mound of strange, colorful rocks. Some red, Others blue, the others brown, black, green, and white. He rushes outside, beckoning the Toa to follow. He sets the rocks down in the ground in the middle of the village. He smiles at Pohatu. "Toa of Stone, get ready to learn the origin of our homeland."
"And then, he told me that the world was made by the Great Spirit, Mata Nui. A being of great power, power greater than that of any Gem." "…Sounds fake." His "companion" remarked, her expression remaining a stoic scowl. Pohatu's eyes widened. "What?!?!" "I said it sounds fake." "No, No, I got that. But, why? That's not nice at all!!" The Companion looked at him, confused. "It wasn't meant to be nice." Pohatu sighed. She's the one who asked him to teah her about being nice. She just doesn't listen! "Jasper. Listen to me. When the Matoran Gems found you, you were not particularly nice to them from what I heard." "I was too!" "You threw most of them into their own houses! And you laughed while doing so!" Jasper chuckled. "They went flying like ragdolls." She murmured. "You're doing ut again!" Pohatu let out a frustrated sigh. "I don't even know why you asked me to help you if you aren't even willing to put in the work!!!" He yelled, throwing his hands up and letting out another loud sigh. "Well," Jasper spoke, placing her arms on her hips. "You shouldn't have offered if you were gonna get this angry." Pohatu calmed down. "Fine. You're right. I'm Sorry." Jasper chuckled. "What?" "Of course you are. Your compliance is your weakness. If you really wanna save this Island, then you need to let that go." Pohatu stopped walking. "It's not compliance. It's owning up to my mistakes. Something you need to learn to do." Jasper's eyes widened slightly. Pohatu continued to walk. He didn't even look back to see if she was following.
