'Dig, pull, scrape, push. Dig, pull, scrape, push.' A slow rhythm. So very slow. But for the gem following it, it put him at ease. A large gem he was. A Morion Quartz. This, of course, meant that he had to be large. In order to do things like… This. He continued his slow, slow rhythm of Digging, Pulling, Scraping, and Pushing, and Digging, and Pulling, and Scraping, and Pushing. It wasn't tiring, not for a gem, who was made for this exact job. But it was boring. Very. Not that he cared for random silly fun. He was a wise, organized gem. But the digging was getting frustratingly repetitive. Don't get him wrong, he loved the underground, but this repetitive digging was making him… uneasy. He had to get somewhere. Somewhere where someone knew who he was. He didn't know for sure, but he knew that someone knew who he was down there. All he knew, was his name. Onua.
He continued to dig until, he hit a strange wall. Once he tore it down with the claws that rested on the gauntlets adorning his hands, it revealed nothing but air. Onua walked through the large hole, and found himself in a large, dank cavern. In the center of it, A lightsone glowed atop a simple, yet equally complex tower of rock and clay. 'Proof! Proof of others underground!!' Onua thought to himself. 'I must find them!! They will have the answers… Hopefully.' He continued to walk down the cavern, only stopping to backtrack a little. Something had caught his eye. He looked to see a mural. He marveled at it, it depicted multiple blank humanoid figures in different shapes and colors, the smallest was blue and had hooked hands, the second smallest, green and seemed to be holding an axe, the third, brown, had much bigger feet than the others, the third tallest, red, held a sword anove his head, the second tallest was a pale white, and held a sword and shield, and the tallest… A black shape with clawed hands. 'Is this… me?' Onua inquired mentally. Onua touched the humanoid shape that supposedly represented him on the mural, and felt a steady vibration. He put his ear to it, and started to hear a strange thunking noise. Slow, steady, rhythmic thunking. 'But what does it mean?' Onua continued dow the cavern, with his ear against the wall to listen to the rhythm of the thunks. It grew stronger, and stronger, and stronger! and with the next turn in the path, Onua was shocked. A cavern. A very, very large one! He saw more towers and platforms, lightstones upon each of them.
Beside those were roads made of cobblestone, Stone benches lay beside them, and finally, he saw a small stream of water trickling throughout. 'What is this? A park? Down here? But why? How?!' He saw that the stream would enter a pool, He walked over to the pool and saw many colorful stones that created strange, circular symbols. But somehow, he knew what they spelled out. ONU-KORO. 'But what does that mean?' Onua thought to himself. 'It has some sort of connection with my name. But what?' Onua suddenly saw a small figure rush across the "park". "Hey!! Excuse me! I need your help!" The figure stopped moving, and turned. But suddenly, his eyes widened, surprised at the gem in front of him. "Oh, Oh OH!!!" Onua tilted his head, confused. Did this gem not speak the same language as him? "Hel-lo. I am O-nu-a. Who-are-you? Do-you-know-what-I-am-say-ing?" Onua said slowly, hoping the small creature would understand. "Yes! Yes! I understand you perfectly!!" The gem rushed into a bow. "Toa Onua! We have been waiting for your arrival for such a long time!!" 'Toa? What is a Toa?' Onua asked himself. He decided to brush that thought aside for now. "Um, I recall asking who you were?" "Oh! My apologies Toa! I am Onepu! I am an Onyx gem, and I live in this village of Onu-Koro. Follow me great Toa. The Turaga wishes to see you!" Onua followed Onepu through many tunnels until they reached an even larger cavern than the first. On each wall was a different carved out dwelling which seemed to house many different gems, each of a black, purple, or grey color. "Please wait here great Toa. I must fetch someone." Onua nodded, and with that, Onepu rushed off. Onua took this opportunity to look around the large cavern. His green eyes stopped on a large statue in the middle of a fountain. It was a bald headed morion quartz, with a black sleevless shirt with multiple gold accents, Baggy black pants with golden pads on the knees, purple bandages on the arms and legs, and black sandals on the feet. Onua looks down to himself. That confirmed it. That statue, was a statue of him. He suddenly heard footsteps. He turned to see Onepu bring a short Black Topaz gem over to his area. The gem wore a White and gold sash around his waist, black baggy pants, Grey and purple bandages around his legs and arms, ans black sandals. He also held a strange staff with a drill head at the end. On his upoer body where many strange, purple markings in the same writing as the writing of ONU-KORO that Onua saw earlier. "I cannot believe my eyes." The Topaz said. "Welcome Toa Onua." He said bowing before standing up again to adress the now gathered crowd. "Matoran of Onu-Koro! We wait for salvation no longer!!"
"You mean to tell me that there are other Toa? Others like me?" Onua said to the Topaz, Turaga Whenua. Whenua chuckled. "You saw the mural on the way to Onu-Koro correct?" Onua nodded. "Those beside you were the Toa of Ice, Stone, Water, Air, and Fire. By now, the other 5 Turaga of Mata Nui have at least greeted their respective Toa." Suddenly, the 2 hear a knock at the door of the great Suva room. Whenua opens the door and his eyes widen. "Ah. You're finally awake." Onua hears a feminine voice reply. "Yeah. Although the beds are pretty uncomfortable. Are you this Turaga Whenua guy? Some dude named Nuparu told me to talk to you." "I am indeed! Now, if you'll wait outside for a few minutes, I'll get to you soon." "How about I juat slip in here and-" "Wait a second!" A short purple skinned gem with wild pale lavender hair in a pontytail crashes into Whenua, sending them both rolling into the Suva room. Onua lets out a slight chuckle before walking over to Whenua. "Are ok Turaga?" "Yes, Yes, I am fine Toa Onua." Whenua said, standing up. He dusts himself off before walking to the now standing stranger gem. "Now, what is so important that you had to interrupt this meeting?" Onua raises an eyebrow. "Turaga, who us this?" Whenua sighs. "An Amethyst gem taht the villagers found without a physical form in the tunnels. They took her back here and nursed her back to health. Now back to the question." He answered before turning back to the Amethyst. "Oh, I was sorta hoping you could help me with something." "If Nuparu sent you here to get me to fund his project, then so help me Mata Nui-" "What? No. I was going to ask if you could help me find my friends." The Amethyst continued. "Oh. Then I don't think I can help." "Why not?" She asked. "Well, we're kinda in the middle of things. If you haven't noticed, a great shadow looms across the Island. Toa Onua here is one of the only ones who can stop it." Whenua stated pointing to Onua before turning to adress him. "Which is why I am here. To tell you of your duty, and destiny." Onua nodded his head in understanding. "What must I do?"
"So Boring!!!!!" "The Mountain is only a few minutes ahead. Stop complaining." Onua said to Amethyst. She had been complaining for nearly the entire walk to Mount Ihu since the 2 got above ground. "But it's so cold!" "Can you even feel the cold?" Onua asked skeptically. Anethyst let out a defeated sigh. "No." Onua shook his head. "Look, if you stop complaining… I guess I can… carry you." Onua suggested equally defeated. Amethyst's eyes lit up. She immediately scrambled up Onua's back at a speed that definitely surprised him.
"Wow, you really don't wanna walk do you?"
"Nope!" Onua sighed. "Fine."
