In the Examination Room…
Itachi watched his bride and his brother as they began the test.
Of course, Sasuke knew right away that this was not a normal test but rather one of skill and stealth. For in life, you must tip the scales in your favor, cheat the system, and bend the rules that way, you find life and victory. It was the way of the ninja. You either control your fate or someone else will control it. A ninja which does control their own lives will often die, broken, and defeated. This test proves who was the most qualified with said skill. It was not one for the faint of heart or uncertain of the mind that Itachi knew for certain.
Naru was struggling but he knew she would make it through. Though it didn't help that many of the test takers left, and right were failing and being dragged out of the classroom in such large numbers. He wanted to help her relax, to motivate her to keep going, and press on. This was something with which he could not interfere in, there would be times when he can't help his beloved or his brother and it was something he was still adjusting to.
Itachi's eyes then settled on Gaara.
Gaara…
Though it would look like that will have to wait as it seems to be commotion between his brother, Fiancé, their friend, the Hokage's grandson, and the young shinobi of the sand? Such behavior would not be tolerated.
"I will learn of your name soon enough." The one with the sand gourd on his back told Naru then turned his attention to Sasuke, "I would like to know who you are now."
"Uchiha Sasuke."
Time to intervene.
"Excuse me, but is there a problem?" Itachi questioned.
"Forgive my brother, he does not realize the rules of the village and caused minor problems." The redhead informed him.
Strange, there was something about the boy so familiar… Had he met before?
"We will not cause problems again." He informed the elder Uchiha.
"I surely hope so, please keep the honor and integrity of your village in mind next time you wish to pick a fight. But please enjoy your time in the leaf."
Then Itachi's eyes widened in horror as he felt the power from the boy, passing by him. The pressure… it couldn't be! But there was no mistake. He knew that energy anywhere.
"Itachi, are you okay?" Naru wondered as she snapped him out of his trance.
"Um, Naru, could you and Sasuke bring these back to the estate? I need to rush to the Hokage's for a moment."
"Sure, tell the old man I said hi!"
"What's wrong, Brother?"
"I'll be fine. I just need to inform him of… some things."
…
It was a peaceful night as the moon was shining high above the clouds, illuminating the walkway home in its mysterious beauty. Yet not even this charming walk could lift the tension on his mind. He knew the danger that walked into the Leaf and what that one soul could do. Does this boy have control over himself like Naru or is the beast already have a hold on his mind?
"Butting your nose into someone else's affairs can prove quite dangerous, Eldest Uchiha…" A voice from behind threatened as the sand appeared.
Itachi remained still and calm as the sands swirled around his feet.
"You must be Gaara then? The one my brother and my fiancé have met. I am quite surprised to find you out this late a night. A growing boy needs his sleep." Itachi tried a bit of humor.
"Don't try to act bravely in the face of death, Eldest Uchiha…"
"Oh, I do not plan on dying tonight or you to kill anyone at this time. It's rude to hold someone up." Itachi warned as threw the glowing kunai to the ground, puncturing the sand, causing Gaara to howl in pain!
"How-?!"
"A Kunai Blessed and empowered can have many properties. You have come to threaten me, but here is a warning for you. You are a guest of the Leaf, you will behave and follow the rules, or I will be the one to punish you."
"I will return, Eldest Uchiha. Once the time is right, I will feed you to my mother and she will use your bones to make her stronger. Then you brother will die next and I shall claim my mate, the strong female from before, and make her mine..."
Then Gaara was gone, probably to lick his wounds.
He still couldn't understand why he was here; it was obvious this child was rather unstable and lost his mind to his tail beast.
What was the Fourth Kazekage thinking?
Why would he allow this ninja to take a test when his mentality is slipping?
Naru may have the same… burdens but she was always surrounded by love with him, Iruka, the Hokage, and now her team. It was obvious that this child has no one. They were all too scared of him like the village is of Naru.
The thought that his beloved could have become like this one was an uneasy thought.
His thoughts were soon broken as it was the end of the test and Naru proclaimed that even if she remained a Genin forever, she would still become Hokage. She passed as the instructor revealed the point of the test.
Itachi smiled as he knew she would be able to do it.
After the test, he met with the instructor, Ibiki Morino who was looking at his bride's test.
"That twerp, the first one to ever pass without a single answer." He muttered under his breath.
"Yes, Naru is truly something. I can imagine her Hokage with a Genin level. She is the type of woman who could make the impossible possible." He admired the girl as he dreamt of the day, he would marry her.
"Yes, your spite fire truly is something else."
