Welcome Back everyone. So First of all life is hectic im doing my best and honestly writing is not the problem I love it and im making good time. The editing and spell cheack though, due to my dyslexia, this is harder for me so while I can easily wip out my phone and write a piece now and then I really need to sit down and concentrate for spell checks and that sort of thing behind my pc at home. Before we start I also feel the need to shed some light on the Cannon for this story.

The books: After the fall, before the dawn, and Roman holiday are cannon. though they are not needed to enjoy this story, there might just be some dialoge hinting to things like Neo's birthname and what team CFVE went through. I may also use the odd thing from fary tails of Remnant

The game Grim eclipse is still up for debate as I don't know how to place it in yet, so if it shows up its cannon if not, then it ain't.

Ice queendom and The crossover with DC are interesting cases. As for the events in Ice queendom that are about the nightmare grim are none cannon. The parts that could have been placed in the original series past, like Weiss talk with Nicolaus, are cannon as that could have easily happened without mucking up the events in the established timeline of the story. As for the world finest its events are none cannon, however as you might have guessed from the previous chapters, Lance has little interest in joining forces with Ozma. And our favorite Body hopping headmaster is a bit short on heroic teenagers to throw at his evil ex and ex-students. Sooo I might start plucking some characters from other media. And before you Judge me remember that RWBY characters are all based on other stories, Fucking JNPR are all historic/mythological cross dressers. Considering that the world finest already have some in universe background i might just use them.

Cats and queens

Yang didn't want to wake up. She would rather not face the reality of the crumbling kingdoms of Remnant, to hell with the immortals waging war using mortals as their pawns. She wanted to dream, about her dark lord whisking her away to a life of adventure until it was safe and be the mother Raven never was for her. To sit on a throne with her friends with a bottle of wine and think about the stupid things they used to do. "Please don't be gone, I don't want you to be gone."

She let out a deep sigh of relief as two strong arms wrapped around her. He ran a gentle hand through her blonde hair. "You are mine Yang, a golden treasure in my collection, I will not let go of you."

She opened her eyes looking at the man who had claimed her, she didn't think she would ever think of herself as being anyone's she had never wanted to be someone's. She had wanted to wake up in brand-new places every day and not know what the morning would bring. The difference a night makes. She was his, she knew that he wanted a queen, but she would be his any way he asked her. His wife, his concubine, his queen, and his whore. She would be it all and more, he needed only ask. His eyes burned into hers as he saw it the total and complete surrender to him but her amethyst eyes were not the dull empty orbs of a thrall or one of their dull offspring breadth to obey. No, these eyes were bright there was still fire in this tamed dragon, and he wanted to see it burn his enemies to dust he pulled her close and ran a hand over her brow along the dried blood.

"The horns look good on you, I think you make an excellent devil."

Yang raised an eyebrow as her hand traveled to her head and met a hard pair of pointy things.

She sat up bolt-right and jumped from the bed, looking at herself in the reflection of Lance's chest plate that rested against the wall. Protruding from her golden locks were a pair of red horns.

"What happened to me?" She was mesmerized by what she saw. The horns were only the start of it. Her hair was a shade darker looking like actual gold and her violet eyes now had a dim glow her once fair skin had a slight rouge tint to it was subtle nothing inhuman, but it was there.

Lance put his arms around her, and kissed her neck."Magic, and especially dark magic, leaves its marks."

Yang leaned into the hug, comforted by the touch. She was not sure what to think of her magic. On the one hand, turning into a living inferno was awesome. At the other, Raven was the one that had given this to her. She wondered what would happen when they would be face to face again.

"Did this happen to your mother as well?" She was curious she knew very little about her new lover, there were some flashes of her false memories that the labyrinth had given her but those mostly were about the times that version of her had been at his side, not a reliable source of information.

Lance's grip tightened around her."No, my Father's mistresses did not join him on the battlefield, they are not altered save by the fact that the magic preserves their youths. And elongate their life."

"Elongate their life? By how long?"

"No overlord has ever died in his sleep, and as we are the source of the magic it wains after our dead, I don't know how old we can get Yang. I do know that I want you at my side for however long my rule may last."

They returned to the bed Yang put her underwear back on, and they spend some time in each other's arms, at one point lance laid his hand on Yang's stomach and Yang's eyes widened as her cheeks became red.

"My lord, did we use protection?"

"Why would I make love to you while I was wearing armor?" Lance asked, genuinely confused, did he violate a Reminantian courtship ritual? Was it a custom between huntsman to wear a piece of armor at night? All color left Yang's face, which had Lance worried even more.

"A…are you telling me that anti-conception is not a thing in your world?!" Yang asked with a quivering voice.

"Don't you wish to be a mother?"

"Oh sweetie I do I love to but not now! We are at the end of our teens in hell and we are going to start a war. I don't want to raise a child like that, I..I don't want to leave them like I was left." she could hear a memory so far away that it might as well never have happened. Red eyes in a dark room and an opening window, followed by the sound of wings in the night. Then the fleeting warmth of Summer hugging her promising to teach her how to hold a sword when she came back and seeing her walk out the door for what unbeknownst to them would be the last time. It was the reason she never used a bladed weapon, No one but her mom was allowed to teach her.

"On that we agree, Luckily the bed is enchanted." He said with a relieved smile.

"Wait anti-conception magic!?"

"Only if it's unwanted, if it is desired it ensures it. It's an enchantment my stepmother Fay made sure all 3 of us learned when we came of age." He scowled Fay was rarely in a good mood, the lack of destruction and conquest had gotten to her over the years. Whilst getting children was something the three siblings knew would be a duty in the future none of them was actually eager for the prospect of having to suffer the empty company of the thralls especially for his sister as whilst most female thralls usually kept themselves in some state of beauty in case their dark master wished to use them the male thralls worked in bad conditions leaving them mangled and rough unlikely to be enjoyable to see or tender as a lover.

Satisfied by this answer, yang kissed his forehead and got up pulling on her pants and jacket on.

"Regretting tearing up that shirt?"

"As if Rubes said she was going to start working on a wardrobe and if I know my sister she has something ready, Girl is a wizard with a sowing kit used to make her dresses herself and all."

Going down to the forge, Lance's eyes went wide. The mechanical monstrosity that had been created rivaled dwarven forges of ancient times. The dark smelter that was capable of melting magical steel was connected with different machines that seemed to be capable of forging an armies worth of armament in mere seconds. At the anvil stood two figures that hefted a mighty blade out of a trogh of water and held it aloft. A blue gleam that symbolized an enchantment taking hold glowed in the steam as the last bit of water sizzled away. Ruby was clearly tired, but when they came closer, she grinned.

"Darling, welcome, do you like what I did to the place?" Ruby was gleaming with pride. She had put workshops up before in her room and a small workstation in her dorm room, so she could do maintenance to Crescent Rose when needed. But none compared to the forge of the tower, she could almost feel the tower growing more powerful around her.

"I doubt I will understand half of these machines Ruby, but if that shit eating grin on Giblit's face is an indication, it's great." Yang said she could forge well enough. She had made Ember Silica, after all, but she was nothing compared to Ruby.

Giblit was currently fawning over a table filled with blueprints, for what Lance could guess big shiny things that if it would not outright kill you would hurt like the spirit of hell personaly kicked you in your chest. Lance glanced towards a pair of mannequins, wearing a set of casual looking clothing on them. He took a closer look. The one he guessed was his, had a long sleeved leather jacket, he could feel the strong patting through the leather when he held it up. Over the pants was a pair of steel plated boots and leather hip protection. A mail shirt would protect his upper body, there was a modernized version of the iconic overlord helmet looked back at him.

"It's not perfect, but I designed it as well as I could with our current resources. Apparently, I will need some things from remnant to make better armor." Ruby said only half apologetic, she was disappointed that she could not make her first piece at this forge a masterpiece. But she was certain that it would serve her lover well.

"What? Gone rusty with it sis?" Yang joked

"Not at all, but making stuff that kills is a lot easier than stuff to keep you alive. Plus this is slightly more street appropriate, don't you think? Not that armor is at all strange back home, but it will get you noticed as a huntsman. Great for getting huntsman gigs and getting people calm in hard times, sneaking around and doing evil schemes however. welllllllll."

Lance nodded. Sneaking was not a common thing for an overlord, but he admitted that not walking around as an armored behemoth in spiky armor. That screamed I'm here to paint your homes red with blood and the lucky ones will die fighting. Would have some benefits in the grand schemes of things, he looked at Ruby, who quickly kneeled and offered him the weapon she had been holding.

"Your blade, my Lord"

It was clearly fashioned after his old sword. A medium-sized sword that most men would have needed two hands for. This was obviously a far more intricate construction, as he recognized plates and gears that would allow it to change shape, much like Ruby's weapon. His finger found a button shaped like a minion head and the blade changed into an air-cooled belt fed open bolt machine gun (The MG42.)

"Damn Rubes you went all out on this one. Looks more like a stationary gun for a defensive position than a personal weapon. What's the fire rate?"

"Between the 1200-1500 rounds a minute."

Lance looked at the two taking a guess what they meant. "Rounds? Is that how you refer to the projectiles?" He imagined the carnage there where villages back home not even close to that number of people and all that power rested in the trigger inches away from his finger. Ruby caught his eyes and placed a hand on his arm her eyes held a fond but firm gaze.

"I don't recommend using it yet though, considering you don't have any experience with firearms. Penny is busy with adding a shooting range to the arena, so we can get you started soon."

A loud whoosh went through the tower, Gnarl came running. "Master the labyrinth has opened up again."

Lance took his sword and placed it on his hip before he started to dawn, the armor made ready for him.

Weiss helped Blake to climb over the rocky ridge in the cavern before they both sat down against a cave wall.

"Any luck? Weiss asked her teammate, who looked at her scroll and shook her head."

"No, and I doubt that it's better outside Weiss, not without the towers."

"Damn it" Weiss cursed as she kicked a stone away into the dark and heard the sound of wood being hit

Blake and Weiss shared a surprised look before they came closer and saw a dark wooden door in the cave wall.

"This looks suspicious "

"It looks like something out of a Mistrilian animation show. You think we can get something to eat from there?"

"Wait, you watched Diner to another universe?" Blake asked her teammate in surprise that the serous girl would watch a show like that.

"Ruby and I watched it together. I needed a pick me up, and she needed to relax. A decent story, cute character interaction and oh my gods, the food inspiration." Weiss didn't know what she missed more, the fun she had with her best friend or the food Ruby liked to cook afterwards. She felt a pang of guilt. How many times had she chastised Ruby for wanting to do childish things? If she had a second chance, she would have said yes to them all. Grab all the chances she had to enjoy the last years before becoming an actual adult. Even now, when living another year to see the big two and zero grace her birthday cake seemed like an impossibility.

"Wait, was that you that left all those burn marks in the kitchen?" Blake said recalling a rather miffed looking Glynda goodwitch complaining out loud over the lack of common survival skills in some members of the student body.

"I am a Rich kid Blake only times I used to spent time in the kitchen back home was to steal sweets." Weiss crossly countered her cat eared companion's criticism of her culinary catastrophe.

Blake could almost imagine a tiny weiss using glyphs to reach a cookie jar, the wholesome picture was shattered when Blake remembered her friend's family unit and shook her head. "So are we going in?"

Weiss pulled out her blade Blake followed suit gamble shroud was in full gun mode Weiss held up her free hand too count down 5…4…3…2…1 the door creaked open, and they walked into a full blown battle. Strange memories flooded their minds. An enraged scream filled the air as a young woman threw herself at Blake, it was like she looked at a twisted mirror of herself. But instead of a fair complexion this girl was ghostly pale with black veins running under her skin dead red eyes glared at her and the raven hair was shaggy and dirty.

"You failure!" the woman screamed. "You failed as a huntress in stopping Salem You failed as a Faunus by befriending that Shnee filth, and you failed as a woman…. I died at birth, mother, and you let Salem turn me into this."

"Ebony, please Let me help you!" Blake begged the girl she remembered holding as Cinder burst through the hospital's windows with a dark syringe.

"You can't help yourself or father, much less me. how could you let him go and let that Shnee bitch give me a brother?!"

"Whatever Salem promised you, it's a lie!"

"She promised me revenge and then death. Here you are so far, she has done more for me than you!"

The girl's blade was hauntingly familiar, a blood-red dai katana that had once belonged to Adam Taurus came down towards her like the strike of a guillotine. But a white blur pushed her out of the way, and the next thing she saw was a breaking aura. Next she heard was Weiss screaming a name. "Tundra!" she felt sticky warm blood cover her face as her daughter cut her half brother to deep into his shoulder. Tundra to his credit stood tall through pain through doubt he took hold of Ebony whose eyes suddenly widened in shock.

"It's time to go to sleep, Ebony, I won't give you Revenge, but I can give you rest." Tundra pushed himself over the edge of the cliff they were fighting on, Ebony screamed as the half siblings disappeared, and then it suddenly stopped with a sickening crack. Blake and Weiss sped forward just in time to see their children in a cold embrace at the feet of a laughing Salem. Who held all four relics and held them aloft as the heavens and ground shook, and a loud voice called their doom.

"I…It can't end like this." Weiss stuttered as she saw the gods come down in there dragon forms blasting away Salem taking half the continent with it.

"It won't have to."

The voice was all the two needed, it promised everything would be okay. It reminded them of nights of passion and nights of quiet comfort. Of spring mornings and fall evenings. And it was all behind that door. That door that seemed to come from nowhere, they ran as a shining light and salems laughter heralded the end of Remnant and jumped through the gate. landing side by side on a bed in the arms of a stranger that felt oh so familiar.

"You two okay?" The stranger they somehow knew to be named Lance asked.

"I…I think so." Weiss blinked as she started to remember, she remembered the blood and tears. But also her happienes. "Is this what it takes for us to have a happy ending?" Weiss asked.

"All my life I fought to ensure the Faunus could be equal to humans. And the only way to make sure they even survive is to deliver them to you." Blake said as she balled her fist.

They separated and Blake walked to the balcony, her eyes grew wide, and she motioned Weiss to come over. There they were a group of kids. Sitting under a tree in the courtyard of their magnificent castle. They were too high up to understand their words, but they could hear their laughter. They could see a blazing sunrise over a far green country and a shining city.

Weiss sighed, "My whole life I lived in chains and every time I tried to break them I found myself under the thumb of yet another tyrant"

She held up her hand and a golden chain materialized, she looked at him.

"Will I be a slave?"

"Only if you want it to be so."

"Will my voice be more than that of a songbird chained in your room?"

"It will be like thunder, only a fool will ignore its roar."

"Then I give my chains to you in the hoop that I can finally be free within bondage." Weiss gave him her chain and looked at blake praying to whoever would hear her that her friend would join them.

Blake kept looking to the horizon, seeing her daughter. Alive and happy, a twisted knife, but damn if it wasn't effective. "Will you make me run away from everything I know and love?"

"I will give you something to run towards and somewhere you can always return to."

"There is no way of stopping you. The alternative is the literal end of the world in my eyes, the only way I can hope on making things better is joining you and hope you are capable of actually improving this world."

The room faded away once more replaced with the room with the tower hearth, lance raised a hand crackling with electricity. "This will hurt for a few seconds"

The blast threw Weiss into the water and in a flash she was back home in Atlas, seeing her grandfather standing by the fountain. Motioning her to come closer.

"I am so sorry, my little friend. This house this family I told you it would be your fortress, It was nothing but a prison. My poor Willow, how could I let that man hurt all of you so."

"Grandfather? I must ask are you the real Nicolaus or are you just a dream, a final spark of light before the ice claims my hearth?"

"I believe I am a bit of both my child why."

Weiss didn't know how or why but, orbs of light came to her call. the sound of laughter with the voices of her friends sounded from them. Before a white light came over her and a Younger looking version of herself stepped towards the elderly huntsman taking hold his hand.

"A final attempt of me doing the right thing, Wherever you go take them there, The castle I will build from here on out…. I will not be a jailer, not to them, never."

Her grandfather looked at her a sad smile on his face as he faded away with the lights. "Oh Daughter of the Shnee family, You would have made a good princess."

Weiss' sight, sadly. "That time is over, There is only the Ice queen now."

The sound of waves called her away as Weiss saw Blake standing on a cliff looking down as her home was claimed by the seas, screams of rage from the white fang. Screaming innocence and crying children, all silent by the crashing wave. There was a crouching teen at her feet, wearing a white version of the white fang uniform. She kicked her off the cliff, Blake had no use for what that part of herself had clung to up till now.

"He are you okay?" Weiss asked, knowing she wasn't.

"No, But I guess I will be as the spell takes effect, should be any second now."

"Anything interesting with yours?"

"I Literally drowned my past, You?"

"Pretty sure I gave my grandfathers ghost the good we are getting rid of."

"You think that actually does something?"

"I hope so. Maybe one version of us can be happy and good at the same time,.

Somewhere."

"Yhea I hope so aswell."

And it all fell away, all doubt of their decision, all resentment to the man who was to be their lover and all guild for what they were about to do. Replaced by accepting of everything their morals and duty as huntresses didn't allow them to feel. A lust for revenge on the world and people that left them scared and miserable and while it would take time and effort to come to bloom, sparks of affection for the Overlord. They rose out of the water. Panting and shivering, The sound of feet sounded from above as Ruby led Yang and penny downstairs. Ruby walked up to her partner and put an arm over her, they whispered and ruby nodded to yang who walked past Lance, "The four of us need some time tonight." She told him before leading Blake out of the room up the staircase. The overlord looked at penny, a concerned look on his face, penny shared it.

"What is wrong?"

Penny sighed, "We figured this had a chance to happen, Ruby and Yang have resentment about the past, But there was some happiness, Weiss and Blake on the other hand. A life of Racism and manipulation."

"And only their morals to keep them from lashing out, morals I just made null and void." Lance felt the rage of a sun spring up in his veins, he would burn everything that had hurt his mistresses down and dance with them in the ashes. "Do you feel vengeful Penny?"

"I was a sentient weapon with the mind of an over-enthusiastic child. I was built to protect a place my commander abandoned, forced to take a roll meant for another, and murdered twice by friends whose hands were forced. I wish to show these people just how much it hurts to be the gun that kills your loved ones."

Her green eyes were hard as steel, while she had a twisted smile on her face. for a moment lance felt a sting in his chest he had only felt that sting once before he ran his fingers past the golden token hanging from his gauntlet, guilt that awful feeling he would not let it come to pass. He would guide them, no fire of vengeance shall harm his mistresses. He made a silent vow and pulled penny close, the green-eyed mistress looked into his crimson eyes and saw a storm of emotions roaring behind them. They stood there for hours, lost in themselves ,until finally lance picked her up and carried her to the master bedroom. They laid down the question of each other's body hung between them, and the answer came in a touching of their hands, not tonight. There was something peaceful in it as they pulled up the covers and stared at the other, a silent certainty that there would be tomorrow. They would have hours days months perhaps years to explore each other, tonight it would be the light of their eyes the safety of each other's arms and the sound of each other's breath.

Weiss tried to stop giggling, but it was all so strange. The laughter would not stop, but there wasn't anything that should be funny. Then again, she had spent the last three years shedding her racist tendencies and the other horrible things her father had pushed onto her and her siblings and here she was mistress to an overlord. It had an undeniable Irony. Her greatest desire was to be a huntress, a profession that centers around saving others, yet here she was about to burn down villages and indoctrinate the subjected masses in worshiping the dark lord as a godlike being. To top it all off, one of her best friends Blake who she gave all kinds of grief for being a terrorist would now be her partner in crime in among other things destroying her father's company. A pair of warm arms wrapped around her and a round object was placed in her hands. The sweet scent of Ruby's chocolate chip cookies reminded her of times that were….less complicated. It really was a sign of a troubled mind if you start feeling nostalgia for times when you had ridden a murder bird, been launched off a cliff and been fighting the kingdom's most wanted at the age of 17.

Blake spoke up, a humorless smile on her face, holding a cookie of her own. "Remember when Ruby told us to imagine what we would do after graduation?"

"Yang snorted. Yhea who had become an evil queen on their bingo card?"

Ruby shook her head. "Nope, who had joining a Harem."

Weiss stopped fighting now genuine smile, "that would be my blank spot. Speaking of our new standing, we may need to have a talk."

Ruby nodded. "I mean, master's will is my command, but so far, I have a feeling that he wants us to be genuine, in our relationship at least. I think he would want us to speak up about our preference."

Blake raised her hand, "I'm fine with everything, I think the whole becoming evil may have scrubbed away some, reservations."

Ruby looked at her accusingly. "You want him to do the things from your smut books to you, don't you?"

The blush on Blake's cheeks screamed guilty. "I..I really do."

"You dirty little cat." Their leader said."pain is not my thing…I think, and well I'm fine with girls if it comes to it but not with yang."

Yang nodded, "I team up with you, but one on one? No. Just no."

Weiss pulled her legs up. "I honestly don't know what to think."

"Cold feet ice queen?"

"Hardly. But well, I wasn't raised with same sex as an option."

"Wait, your family was anti-gay? I mean, I can imagine your old man being it, but it's so normal nowadays I can't imagine him being phobic openly." Yang said She had heard of some big companies loosing a lot of pr by being against same-sex couples Jaucq was a lot of things, but she doubted that he would damage the SDC in that way.

"It's less him being phobic." Weiss said in a tone that emphasized that this was not a defense on her father's behalf. "He could not give a rats ass what people do on that point. But he did care about the family line. We were all supposed to marry high standing people and have children."

"Ah and if you turned out gay that would be a dead end." Ruby said, catching on that it was Jauq butting business before his children's happiness.

"And bi would endanger the chance." Weiss confirmed her friend's conclusion. "I'm not against it. It's just I have never really looked for that kind of relationship with another woman. Because I was afraid what father would do to me for a long time. And when I woke up and turned my back on my father, let's just say that I have not been thinking about romance the past few years."

Blake placed a hand on her friends shoulder. "Take your time." Weiss smiled at Blake gratefully.

"How about Penny? I feel we should probably ask her as well."

Yang shook her head. "I think she is in. I may have kissed her, I believe she liked it enough to try other things. We do need to let her do it on her own time. She is still new to this semi-biological body thing and the hormones that come with that body. I think that pushing her into the whole sex thing now might hurt her."

Weiss looked up. "Uhmmm how exactly is penny here. Last time I saw her….well, I mean, Juan has become good enough with his sword that what he did would kill her."

Ruby rubbed the back of her head. "Oh, I may have broken the rules of life and death. We can bring everyone back as long as we kill some other people in exchange."

"How?! How in the world did you manage that?!" Blake dead panned at her leader.

"Oh, one of the minions can bring back the fallen. Dark brother respects the hussle and gave us a upgrade. Minion for minion, humans for humans."

"…. Right, that is officially too much for one day, I am going to bed." Blake stood up and kissed yang on the cheek. "And yes, yang, I'm up for that chapter as well."

Yang started to stumble over her words, to the amusement of Weiss and Ruby. "Rooms without symbol are free, take your pick."

.

Weiss waved goodbye and left as well. Yang turned to Ruby.

"That bringing back the dead did you…you know?"

"Yes, yang, I tried to get mom back. I tried while you were away. Her soul is still on remnant."

"Do you have a plan?"

"We haven't told you? Well, a lot happened. We have a plan, I tell you tomorrow together with the others. After all the pieces are nearly all here, it's time to set the board."
