72 Hours Part Two: The First Day And First Evening
70 Hours Until Estimated Time Of Death
Chase and Ryder walked back through the streets, with Ryder carrying Chase in his arms. "Where are we going?" Chase asked his new owner.
Ryder smiled as he scratched Chase underneath the chin, causing the puppy to yip enthusiastically. "Home. I live in that big tower over there, can you see it?" Ryder told him, pointing to the Lookout that served as the headquarters of Space Patrol Delta.
"Wow… that building is sooooo big!" Chase giggled.
Ryder couldn't help but let out a chuckle, and he patted Chase on the head affectionately. "You're funny, Chase. I'm glad I got to meet you, and you're gonna stay with me. Okay? I'm going to spend as much time with you as I can! I want to do the best I can to make you happy." Ryder exclaimed.
Chase let out a happy bark. "Really?! Thank you so much, Ryder!" Chase excitedly said, his tail wagging as he was taken inside the Lookout with Ryder, and taken to their living quarters. Chase's belly growled as Ryder got some pup food out that his uncle had bought. Right now, his uncle was working on the vehicles and tech that they would eventually use for the Paw Patrol. Chase started to devour the pup food ravenously, still getting used to having a steady supply of food. "This tastes great!" Chase squealed.
"Thanks!" Ryder replied.
The pup happily ate his meal, before leaping on Ryder and pawing at him. Those beautiful brown eyes of his made Ryder's heart melt. "When's our next meal? I wanna eat with you!" Chase asked.
Ryder chuckled at Chase's enthusiasm. "In a few hours, buddy. I don't want you to get a tummy ache. Let's play some while we let that food sit in your belly, huh?" Ryder suggested.
Chase let out a happy yip and panted. "PLAYYYYYY!" Chase howled.
The human and his companion would play several pup games over the course of the next few hours: fetch, frisbee, tag, tug of war, and more. Laughing, they collapsed on the floor, with Chase licking Ryder's face several times over and over again.
"You're such a good pup, Chase." Ryder giggled as the pup slurped him and nuzzled him with his wet nose.
The pup's stomach then growled again, and he ate some pup kibble before looking at Ryder. "Ryder, can we try something new next time? I wanna eat human food!" Chase exclaimed.
Ryder hesitated before nodding. "Sure, let me do some research." Ryder answered.
He was about to pull out his phone and look up the info, but he remembered that Chase was with him now. He could research about foods that Chase could eat later. Right now, it was important to spend time with his new pup. Looking through the room, Ryder noticed the television monitor and smiled as he figured out their next activity. "Chase, have you ever heard of TV?" Ryder asked his new friend.
Chase shook his head no in response. "What's that?" Chase wondered.
"A TV is something you can watch stuff on! Just know that not everything you see on TV is real, okay?" Ryder told him.
"Sure! How does it work, Ryder?" The dog asked. Ryder explained further about how the TV worked, and that it let you watch different types of programs. "Wow, so you can watch different things on this?" Chase mused.
"Yup! If you want to change what you're watching, just press this red button right here that has two lines crossing, or the blue button that only has one line.." Ryder answered, pointing to the change channel buttons, the red one with a plus sign and the blue one with a minus sign.
Chase nodded his head as the sun began to set. Ryder decided to put it on some reruns of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, and the two watched it for a few hours before Chase fell asleep. He had had a long day, so it made sense he would doze off early. Ryder yawned as well, turning off the TV before snuggling Chase and drifting off to sleep.
