Chapter 2 -Melody's Gift-
Danny Fenton/Phantom was floating through the vast emptiness of the Ghost Zone. Unbeknownst to most lying deep within the ectoplasma dimension was a deadzone. Large sections of almost completely emptiness. With only a few barriers and anomalies making getting into the dead zone difficult. Once inside the dead zone there was no land mass or life; it was a pure void of emptiness. And Danny was one of the few beings that knew how to get through it as he had fled there after Danielle fell. He knew his way through the empty void, but the silence was ear inducing. Which always sent shivers down his spine or whatever the ectoplasmic equivalent was.
Sometimes he came here to be alone and think. It was one of the safest places to hide from his endlessly continuing war. Each turn and bend was getting on his nerves. It wasn't so much his unnerve about what was going to happen, but the waiting. Why was she taking so long? After hearing enough silence Danny stopped and held out his hand focusing an immense energy. Unlike his usual ectoplasmic energy this one wasn't a green, but a deep black. It sparked around his body with violent intent shaking the local area around him.
In his hand a small ball of black energy began to form. Quickly growing larger and larger until it was the size of a dodgeball. With that he threw it into the air which it went for some distance before he sent an ectoplasmic blast towards it. Causing a massive explosion shaking the entire realm. This was one of the many powers that was restored by Box Lunch along with his full memories. Time was one of the hardest things in the Ghost Zone to keep track off as time worked differently here. For sometime he used some of his less known powers.
"Tic, Tok, Tic, Tok," Danny stopped fighting with one of his ecto clones. Quietly he was listening to the world around him. Even if the noise was that of a memory deep down something was wrong. His ghost instincts went off as Danny looked around the entire void. Something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out why. And so Danny waited for a while looking around carefully, but nothing appeared. Finally the teen made a decision to return back to normal. And went through one of the few routes through the deadzone. Back to the ghost portal located in the old abandoned mansion the old man had built secretly. Which had been Danny's operations place since the start of this never ending nightmare.
Once the Ghost Portal closed behind him his ghost instincts went off. Looking around the quiet laboratory. With its various machinery, training tools and more. With a soft quiet whispering feeling. Danny looked around the eerily lab, holding out his hand. Small green ectoplasmic energy started to dance around his fingers. Closing his eyes Danny focused on the world around him before taking his hand to summon a small ball of ectoplasma and shooting it. "Nice shot," a woman's voice appeared. From behind him a figure wearing a cloak appeared with a giant wooden staff. "Hello Danny you've become more powerful than ever."
"Who are you?" Danny asked.
"My name? My name? I have many names, but they call me Melody," the woman said. Her voice was one that sounded tired. With pink eyes that had a gloomy look to them. "They say that my soul plays the most melodic sound to ever be heard so I was given that name. But alas as sorrow blinds my heart that is not why I have come. For a task do I do have for you." Danny looked at the woman carefully trying to think over what to say.
"A wand-waver?"
"That would be most correct friend. For alas I am a wand-waver, once I did fly through the heaven and the earth. But that was long ago. Alas my sorrows no longer allow me to see, but that is why I require your assistance. For in my blinde aire I have allowed several follies to follow. For a danger has come, a very evil one at that. And a war is bound to follow. Timmy needs and requires your assistance for a war that neither of you have faced, but both are centered around is about to begin."
"War?" Danny asked, a bit confused.
"Everything you've faced to this point has been leading towards this very moment. And soon Timmy will face his destiny." With that Melody held out her hand and Danny took the object from her hand. From what he could feel was an immense amount of power. Which irritated power that went through every vein in his body, whatever it was made of the finest material Danny had ever felt. "You'll need this." With that the figure disappeared with a single poof of magic. Which caused Danny to start coughing from the excess magic.
Danny walked over to his girlfriend who only smiled at him. Valerie was reading a book just outside the entrance to Casper High School. She wore her usual clothing and Danny smiled at her. He had turned the mysterious item that Melody had given him into a necklace, but for some reason. Even if he could feel the magic it didn't even cause him a rash unlike when he was around his cousin. But the feeling was incredible; it felt almost like nothing could truly harm him. With that him and Valerie walked into the school.
Each word they said had to be carefully chosen for they never knew if the Old Man would record everything. Both of them moved to a more secure location or at least what they assumed. Danny and Valerie turned a corner and up and came one of Danny's old friends/rivals. Tucker Folley who was leaning over a desk in the classroom which Danny and Valerie would usually sit in. Mostly due to the quiet, next to Tucker who was wearing his usual clothes. Was someone Danny hadn't seen in quite a while. Paulina. Who due to the timeline echo's was born middle class and worked for the old man. Running errands, "Oh look who showed up."
"Oh it's you," Tucker said.
"Hi we're just gonna take our usual spots," with that Danny and Valerie moved down a distance. Much to the muttering of the couple. From his gray backpack Danny pulled out a notebook. He wrote, 'Looks like something happening again'. With that he passed it over towards her. And did his best to explain the situation which Valerie didn't say much.
"Freaks," Paulina said.
'That's not good,' Valerie responded. 'Have you told the old man?"
'No,' Danny finished the short conversation. Something could only be communicated through words, others actions. But the feeling of something wrong was slowly, but surely wrong.
