Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Rouge Rebels. Enjoy the 3000-word chapter. I don't own Star Wars; Lucas Arts and a few others do.

There was a thump in the seat as she awoke, a weight that hadn't been there before. A sound that hadn't been there before now. It was far too quiet for any other noise to be listened around to and far too peaceful for the noise not to be heard and listened to as they all looked around before now as of now. It was an odd little thing for him and the crew. A very weird and yet interesting little tidbit of knowledge for the time being as of now.

Jyn Erzo snapped awake a few seconds later before a pain shot across her chest.

"Captain, I believe she's awake." She heard as she put a hand to her head. "My, so that's why it sucks so much to have a human body. I'll never understand why they chose to be so fragile." Jyn heard as she put a hand to her temples.

Kay was standing over her, his expression the same static one that it had been before. She blinked as the robot tilted its head at her.

"What? Surprised I was not entirely blown to bits. Honestly, I'm surprised they were too stupid to realize my trick." Kay said before crossing its metallic arms. "The other KX-Class security droid? I had taken the liberty of downloading my personality into it. A sort of backup in case the Imperials ever shot me. A small 70% of failure, but one I believe was justified." Kay responded before there was another set of footsteps.

She turned and saw Cassian at the console with Rook. He turned as he seemed to notice her and slowly marched over toward her a few seconds later. It had become a lot harder for her to focus as the man walked toward her.

"Jyn, easy. You're still dealing with waking up… Chirrut, is she all, right?" Cassian questioned before there was a clearing of throats.

"As all right as I was being shot, Captain." She heard someone joke. "That was a close escape…. The force was true with us." She also heard as she seemed to question what the hell was going to happen when it came down to it.

"Is she ok, Captain?" She heard as she looked around the ship as the shuttle started to move forward.

"What the hell happened?" Jyn asked as she slowly started to climb to her feet and look around before she seemed to question herself while the room seemed to spin.

Cassian approached his body language betraying the fact that he was concerned for her and didn't wish for her to die this way. It wasn't in the cards for him to just watch someone die, not after the last mission.

Jyn struggled to her feet, her footsteps unsteady and unwieldy. It had become interesting as of the second. There was going to be more intel when it came down to it.

"This is going to be interesting." She heard as she glanced around before rolling her eyes.

"Jyn, you had been knocked out for several hours. We're almost coming to Yalvin." Cassian stated while he crossed his arms.

"Yes, that concussion grenade on the way to the shuttle seemed to do more damage than half a dozen blaster bolts." Kay snarked which earned a glance from the soldier who looked at her with interest.

It was going to be interesting seeing as what was to come sooner or later.

"And where are we now?" Jyn questioned as Rook slowly sat up from his seat and looked at her. "Almost there I'm guessing. There will be more people waiting to arrest us when we get there." Jyn stated before Rook shook his head.

"They aren't, they want us to come there as soon as possible." Rook stated before she seemed to look around the room. "There was a lot more on the line when it came down to it. Their very interested in Rogue One and have a mission for us when we get back to base. We made quite the impression on them for the way we handled things." Rook added before brushing off his coat.

He had been curious when it came down to it. He had many questions about why this had happened and what the best option was considering their problems. The fact that they had been curious when the entire Rebellion seemed to have been against them.

Then again? It couldn't be understated that there was more on the line than simple problems like their reputation. They had been wanted criminals by the rebels. To the empire? Their deaths were probably at the top of the list of people who needed to die. This was going to be horrible for almost everyone involved in the mission.

"And the plans?" Jyn questioned before she frowned.

So many dead for plans that her father had tried to entrust to her… They had been a lot worse for now. it had been oh so terrible as of now. This had come down them it had seemed when she considered it… What she did notice was this was far beyond insanity… Far beyond what had been expected of them… It had been something terrible to her and yet? Here they stood, this had been something for them no matter what had been coming onto them…

Jyn looked for Cassian who had sat at the controls with Rook. This entire adventure and she had hated him beyond measure for what little had been done to save her father. He had been nothing more than an executioner as of the time when it came down to this.

"Jyn? You need to keep your energy up and sleep, we wake you up for Mon Mothma." Cassian stated before he looked down at the controls.

"While you're still barely breathing?" Jyn questioned with a growing smirk as she slowly pushed herself to her feet. "Rogue One needs its fearless leader… And it isn't as if we've had a lot more to live for without you." Jyn added as the man rolled his eyes.

He turned to look at her. Her once pristine face, one who had worn the official uniform of the empire had been caked in dirt and blood, her uniform was rent in several places, and she seemed to be heading towards passing out from shock.

In all? The face of a damn rebel. One who had proven herself as a soldier, if it had been something odd… Still? Sefla would be proud to have made her a sergeant of the Rebel army… If the man had lived long enough to see it

It had been something glorious for her to see and do this without more bloodshed. She had been the team center for a long enough fight and now she had carried them home.

Their first mission and she hadn't died. Her first chance as a rebel and she had crawled on damaged legs to get them a victory over whatever had been in their path and whatever would stand between them and the enemy. It had been something terrible that they had won this for now and so far. She had proved she was as good as the rest of them as a rebel.

It brought a smile to his face to see that she had managed to come so far and yet travel she had done so to secure their mission. It hadn't been pretty, nor easy… But that was how a rebel had to be for the time being when all of this had been done and dusted on. It'd be a terrible thing to lose if she had died on them for now. Something to think about when all had been to dwell on. She had been oh so interested in what came next that she couldn't even help but question what had been done to handle this problem. If nothing else? It told him all he needed about it.

The captain was thrown off by a simple recording which made him turn towards the report, interested in what was to come next.

"Captain, report coming in from command." He heard as a hologram passed over the holoprojector.

"Captain Andor." He heard Jyn and he looked at the hologram of General Drevis. "And Sergeant Erso. It's nice to see you both alive… I was afraid the Empire killed you both on Scarif… How's your team, captain?" Drevis questioned to which there was a moment of silence.

"Good, general. Lost some good people." Andor heard behind him. "We're still ready. The plans were sent, right?" Andor questioned to which Drevis nodded.

"With the rebellion, captain. We're seeing them to base. I have a new mission I need Rouge One for." Drevis said as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"We're on station, general," Drevis said before the man held up his hand.

"Not on comms. The empire is listening in." Drevis stated to which the captain blinked. "Get back to base. I'll brief you there. Also? Captain? You and Sergeant Erso are being promoted and your squad is made official members of the rebel alliance." Drevis added before the communication cut off.

"Great, soldiers of the guys who didn't believe us and threw us away," Jyn stated before he frowned, looking around, interested in what to do before now.

He was tired, unsure of what to do, what to say, what was even the best answer for now? Tell Jyn to sleep, perhaps? Sure, he could believe before now that she might listen to him before now had been done and dusted. She tilted her head before questioning what to happen when she was all done and dusted. He had been focused on what came down to him and what to do next.

She had been preparing for now while she questioned what had been unsure of what came next

He'd be a lot more focused before now… Only curious as to how this was odd as of now weirdly.

Whatever came next would be more to handle for now. It was oddly a weird little thing before now. It was to be a weird little thing at the end of life. It'd probably make more sense if not for the fact that this. Yet it seemed as of now for this plan what to deal with now. This had been a lot more to question when this was all said. The idea before now had been oddly to question

Whatever came next before now would be as of now when this was oddly done before now. Whatever was to come down to this…

"I feel like I almost died," Jyn stated to which Andor frowned and rolled his eyes. "We both feel that way, don't you? How did we survive?" Jyn stated as Andor frowned.

He knew for a fact that this mission was to be one for the books. It had been that way for quite a while before she hummed. She seemed to handle what she had been perhaps while she questioned what to do next.

"Are you to be, ok?" Jyn heard as she raised an eyebrow, unsure of how to handle this.

"If by that? You mean healing up from a blaster bolt to the gut?" Cassian questioned before he hummed to himself. "Peachy, I'm ok, I've been better, Jyn," Cassian stated before sighing to himself.

He was prepared to face hell when they reached the base. If nothing? They'd be a focus for now while she came down to it while she prepared, for now, what to know what it had been prepared while it had been done and dusted.

Jyn didn't know what was going to have happened for now. This nightmare was something he didn't understand. He didn't know what the nightmare was, but she did know they were lucky to have gotten alive.

He didn't know what else was to happen. There was oh so much to ponder, did their new friends care? Was anyone going to care?

"Captain Cassian?" The radio stated as the man turned and marched up to the radio, making him curious as to how this was going for now. This had been something else for now.

"General?" Cassian questioned to which there was silence.

"Half the council wants you all court marshaled for what you did," Drevis stated, clearing his throat as he did so. "However? Considering half the damn council is cowards who were ready to let us all die to save themselves? I've decided I don't care. The Alliance is alive because of the operation and there's nothing else we can do besides hope and thank the people who got us this far." Drevis stated while he hummed, unsure of what to say.

There was a moment of silence as the man was a lot more to question the team of Rebels who had slowly started to have focused upon. They had more to handle, more to question. There was a lot more to have done anyway.

"Well, not all of us made it home, General," Cassian stated to which Drevis nodded.

"I know, Captain. There's a lot more we could have done, but nobody felt like anything. There's a lot of things we could have done, but I don't know what's going on…." Drevis said before he cleared his throat. "There's more to this than we expected, but for now. We need more people, more soldiers who can get the job done. I need Rouge One, they are a blaster bolt the alliance has been waiting for, we've all been waiting for something like this, it's all been coming together… Now? We have something that scares the empire." Drevis added before Cassian looked around the room.

He was too unsure of what the team might have done. They were true rebels, ragtag, mismatched, flying on fumes, and everything else. They weren't in shape for much. In fact? They were just running on empty for longer than before… Nothing they did next was going to be easy, but this had to be handled, one way or another. They had to carry on. This was going to have been something in a position where there was no right and wrong answer. This could have been handled for now. They had more time to focus on the future and time to handle it all.

Yes, he believed this could go swimmily if they were able to relax. All they needed was some time and effort to into this.

(Drevis)

Drevis waited with a hushed tone and bated breath as the rebel instruments waited for the shuttle that had carried the men and woman whom he had respected at the moment.

There was a lot more to have done, for now, so much more could have been done. He regretted not allowing them to have known for the time being what the plan was.

What would have happened if he had told Jyn her father was the enemy? Might he have been saved from such a thing? Perhaps it'd have been something they'd find practical, perhaps a solution to the Death Star could have been found where they didn't at all require killing the man who had made the object exist.

It was still something Drevis detested… What ifs? They were at war, there was no damn reason to consider the have and have nots of such a proper conclusion for the time being.

"Tell them to come to my office when they get back, nobody else," Drevis ordered one of the rebel soldiers around him as he took a seat back in the chair reminded of his flaws.

He hoped they'd find some forgiveness for him. the fact they had pulled off one of the most daring and straight-up treasonous things in Alliance history was… Something else. He needed a team like that capable of such tactics.

(Rouge One Shuttle)

Jyn tried to go to sleep, tried to let sleep wash over her. Her body didn't allow it. She hadn't yet allowed herself a moment of rest when it came down to it and it was entirely within her rights to have this come upon her. She had too much on her mind to have been giving her pause. It was something that she needed to have been given, a reason to pause and find some sort of rest.

Cassian looked at her, perhaps worried just as much as she that something had gone wrong. They were both soldiers, people who had been on different wavelengths of war and yet still both finding the answers. Jyn had known the captain for only a few days, and it had served only to disturb her to the very manner in which she had done so.

Cassian took his place at one of the seats. It was clear none of them were comfortable, not just because this ship was designed for cargo, no. None of them could have allowed them to rest, not until they were on Yalvin, not until there were miles and miles of open space between them and the empire.

Jyn felt she'd never be safe for the time being while she lived, not purely just because she was a rebel, but because of WHOM and WHAT she had done in her lifetime to have brought herself some measure of victory.

She was the daughter of a traitor who had compromised the greatest superweapon in the empire's lifetime, and she was also the one who had stolen the plans that could have compromised it. There was only a small little lapse in judgment that could be said sometime soon. Yet? it seemed more and more focused upon for now.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be delayed and will be 900-6500 words and will be in 2-10 months and will show Rouge One reaching Yalvin and more about their next mission. Until then, Lighting Wolf is out!
