Chapter Fifty-Fifty: The fight and Learning the truth

With a wave of his have Voldemort released Harry from the statue and was given his wand back.

"You have been taught how to duel, Harry Potter?" Voldemort said "We bow to each other, Harry. Come, the niceties must be observed…Dumbledore would like you to show manners…Bow to death, Harry…"

Seeing that Harry wasn't going to do what he said, he used his wand to make him bow.

"Very good." Voldemort smiled "And now you face me, like a man…straight-backed and proud, the way your father died… And now – we duel."

Once again Harry was hit by the Cruciatus Curse. The pain was so intense for him that he was screaming louder than he'd ever screamed in his life. Vanessa couldn't stand the scream and used every ounce of her powers to break the last of her binds. She summoned her wand and was gonna fight off Voldemort but Baga Yaga stepped in and blocked her spell.

"Sorry princess, but the boy needs to face his death alone." She smirked, "The Dark Lord has plans for you."

Vanessa glared and the two started dueling but away from Voldemort and Harrys' duel. Hunter was able to get off of his binds and summoned his wand. Before he could help either of them the daughters ended up circling him.

"Okay I know that I'm good looking but you're all a bit old for me." Hunter said

That insult made the Burnett woman angry and started swinging her scythe at him. Thanks to his training and fighting with pirates and villains his whole life he easily dodged her attacks. The other two joined in the fight and used their weapons. When he would use his wand they would always transform into flies to dodge the spells.

While he was dealing with them Voldemort was still dueling with Harry. He had stop torturing the boy and tried taunting him if Harry want him to stop. Harry wouldn't answer him. Voldemort sighed in annoyance and decided to place the Imperius curse on him. But thanks to Professor Moody Harry was able to break the curse off him within minutes. Voldemort tried again but Harry was ready for him this time. With quick skills he learned from Hunter he was able to dodge it and hid behind one of the headstones. In one moment the blonde one got in his blind spot and stabbed him in the shoulder. She stabbed him again in the thigh, making him fall to the ground.

"Hunter!" Vanessa screamed

This made Voldemort stop and looked at the young woman in anger. He had warned Baba Yaga's daughters not to touch his sons. He knew how deranged and psychotic they can be when they get bloodlusted on their kills. So to teach them a lesson Voldemort cast the killing curse onto the blonde woman. Harry peaked behind the headstone and saw the familiar green light hit the woman with brown hair. Baba Yaga screamed in agony when she saw one of her daughters fall to the ground, not getting up and not breathing.

"I told you and your daughters…not to harm my son!" Voldemort yelled before turning back to Harry.

Vanessa ended up hitting Baba Yaga with a body binding hex before doing the same with the other two daughters. She hurried towards Hunter. By the smell of him he was losing a lot of blood. She guessed that the woman hit a vital area.

"And I thought Hook was psychotic." Hunter grunted and coughed out blood.

"Don't talk right now…let me…let me seal the wounds first." She said

Vanessa was doing her best to be calm and not cry or let her anger take over. A few Death Eaters had come over to help as he was Voldemort's son but Vanessa wouldn't let them near them. She laid Hunter down and tried to remember the spell for healing from her spell book. But all she could think of was the healing song she remembered from Rapunzel. Vanessa had never tried it before or was sure it would work but she had to try. She placed a hand on his wounds and started to incantated the song.

'Flower, gleam and glow,

Let your power shine,

Make the clock reverse,

Bring back what once was mine'

Within seconds her hands started to glow and his wounds were healing.

'Heal what has been hurt,

Change the fate's design,

Save what has been lost,

Bring back what once was mine,

What once was mine.'

By the time the spell was finished Hunters' wounds were gone. Hunter was able to breathe steadily again and got up a little.

"Thank you." He said

When they were gonna get up they were thrown back down when the ground shook by the power Harry and Voldemort shot out.

"Expelliarmus!" Harry shouted at the same time when Voldemort cried "Avada Kedavra!"

Getting back up the two saw Harrys' and Voldemorts' spells hit each other in mid air.

"Have you seen anything like this before?" Hunter asked

"No." Vanessa said

Within minutes a golden light appeared from the middle of the beams. The golden light had formed a dome that surrounded Harry and Voldemort. This stunned everyone. The thing that stunned everyone the most was when spirits started coming out of Voldemort's wand. The first spirit was of an old man, then a woman in her late forties and up next Vanessa couldn't believe her eyes. It was Harry's mom, Lilly. Vanessa walked closer a little as she knew who the next spirit would be and it was. Her mother appeared next. She looked over at Vanessa and floated closer to her while Harrys' father came out of the wand.

"Once the connection is broken, take Harry and run towards the Portkey." She whispered in a soft voice.

Vanessa heard her and nodded, a tear fell down her cheek.

James' spirit walked over towards Harry and told him to head for the Portkey as well. That he and the other spirits will linger for a moment to give them time to run. The moment his dad told Harry to break the connection he pulled his wand upward. The golden thread broke and the spirits closed in on Voldemort, shielding him from his gaze.

The three teens quickly ran from the area before the Death Eaters or Voldemort noticed. After the two older teens grabbed hold of Harry, Vanessa had quickly summoned the Cup towards them. One of the sisters was able to get out of their bindings and saw them escaping. She growled and ran after them with her scythe. The Cup soared toward them and just when Vanessa was about to catch it by the handle the daughter threw the scythe at them. The moment she caught it they all disappeared along with the scythe. Voldemort screamed in fury when he saw that they were gone.

The three ended up falling into the ground once they appeared back at the stadium. Everyone cheered and the band started to play. But it all stopped when Fleur screamed at the sight Vanessa was in. The scythe had pierced her back and through her chest. Dumbledore and a few other people crowded around them. Vanessa even heard her father and parents voices yelling and screaming in the crowd to let them through. Harry and Hunter were able to get out of their daze from the Portkeys side effects and saw the state Vanessa was in. They quickly crawled over toward her, worried for her life.

"Harry! Harry, what happened!"

Harry looked up and saw that it was Dumbeldore.

"He's back. He's back." Harry whispered "Voldemorts' back."

"When a medic, now!" Fudge yelled at the stand before talking to the boys. "Harry. Hunter. I need you two to let go of her. These people are going to take her over to Madam Pomfrey."

Dumbledore was able to get Harry and Hunter off as two people came by with a stretcher. He had to let them go as Fudge wanted him to talk to Vlad as was the only one that could calm him down. Once she was on the stretcher and headed to the hospital wing Hunter quickly got to her side and followed. He was so worried for her that he didn't notice that Harry wasn't following him. Or that someone was with him and took him somewhere else.

Vanessa started to wake up and saw that it was night time. When looking around she saw that she was in the Hospital Wing. She was lying in one of the beds with Hunter sitting next, sleeping in a chair. Then she saw Harry in the bed next to her and in another bed she could see Professor Moody. At one point she didn't know why she was here until she remembered the stabbing pain from her back. Sitting up quietly, she looked at chest and saw the bandage covering the now healed wound. Her movement somehow woke up Hunter.

"Hey. How long have I been out?" She whispered

"A couple of hours since we've been back. One of the psycho sisters hit you back with her scythe. It scared everyone." Hunter said "Scared the hell out of me. It nearly hit your heart. Madame Pomfrey was able to take the blade out. Luckily the blood she injected in you helped you heal quickly."

"Where are my parents and Dad?" She asked

"It was getting late and Madame Pomfrey had them leave, along with everyone else. Even though I wasn't hurt I was to stay the night as well. I didn't mind as I wasn't going to leave you alone." He said, taking her hand into his.

"What happened when I was out?" She asked

"A lot. Turns out the Professor Moody we knew was an imposter. He was Barty Crouchs' son and he was the Death Eater Voldemort was talking about." He said "He put yours and Harrys' name in the Goblet of Fire, killed Crouch, and made the Cup a Portkey. He tried to kill Harry when we were in the hospital wing but Dumbledore was to stop him." He explained.

"Then is that the real Moody?" She asked, looking where the grown man was sleeping.

"Ya, he was locked in a trunk for the whole school year. Who knows how high his paranoia of being attacked is now." He muttered

Vanessa sighed and lay against the metal headboard.

"So…everybody knows now, right. That Voldemort is back." She said

She saw him making a face and knew that something more happened.

"What happened?" She asked

"The idiot Minister didn't believe Dumbledore, Harry or I. Thanks to Skeeter's articles Fudge thinks Harry is just making it all up for attention." Hunter said

Vanessa looked like she was about the yell but was able to keep it in so she didn't wake anyone up.

"But what about Barty Crouchs' son?" She asked

"He's no longer alive. Fudge brought in a Dementor for protection and it gave him the kiss without letting him talk." He said

"What an idiot." She muttered, "So he's not going to listen to reason or even look into it."

"It doesn't seem so." Hunter said "When Fudge left Dumbledore had placed assignments for Sirius, Vlad, and Snape. He had one for Mr. Weasley too but since he wasn't here Bill Weasley went to tell him."

Vanessa let out another sigh.

"I knew Fudge was a bit bluster and a little pompous but…even I didn't expect that from him." She said

"Dumbledore believes he is blinded by the power he holds in the Ministry. It showed when he wouldn't get rid of the Dementors from Azkaban. Almost went insane when Dumbledore told him to envoys to the giants." He said

"Yes, I would have expected that from him. I did hear his racist side before. He doesn't really care for them." She muttered "And I bet…with many others as well."

A few weeks have passed and now it is the end of the school year. After everyone had packed up they had headed to the Great Hall for the Leaving Feast. For decorations, since Harry, Hunter and Vanessa had won the tournament together, the color drapes represent both green and red. The real Mad-Eye Moody was at the staff table, extremely twitchy, and jumpy every time someone spoke to him. Like Hunter said, his fear of attack had gone up a notch. Vanessa saw that Professor Karkaroff's chair was empty. Harry had told her that Karkaroff ran off the moment he felt his dark mark burn, so he's on the run.

When everyone was done eating Dumbledore had made a speech, like he always does but in the middle of it he mentioned how Voldemort had returned. Vanessa looked at her cousin and friends and wondered if that was a good idea. From what Harry and Hunter told her Dumbledore was already on bad terms with the Ministry. She doubted Fudge and the students' parents would want him to tell them this.

The next day everybody waited at the entrance hall for the carriage that would take them back to Hogsmeade station. Before they left Vanessa and Hunter said their good-byes to both Fleur and Krum. Fleur informed her that she was planning on getting a job in Britain to improve her English. For Krum, they saw him heading towards Hermione. Vanessa smiled as she knew that those two have been dating ever since the Yule Ball. From what the fourteen year old witch told her that they were gonna try to have a long distance relationship.

In the carriage ride Vanessa had ridden with Hunter, Rain, Fred, George and Artism. During the ride Vanessa finally asked Fred and George who they were riding to this whole year. She is one of their best friends and knew they were hiding something. She had been waiting patiently for them to tell her but now she had enough. What they told her really surprised her.

"Ludo Bagman? Why?" She asked

"You remember that bet we made at the World Cup the git ended up paying us in leprechaun gold." Fred said

"And you know what with leprechaun gold." George glared

"No." Rain gasped

"Yup, we thought there was some kind of a mix up and tried writing to him but nothing. He ignored them all. We kept trying to talk to him about it at Hogwarts but he would always make some excuse to get away from us." George said

"In the end, he turned pretty nasty." Fred said "Told us we were too young to gamble, and he wasn't giving us anything."

"So we asked for our money back." George said

"Let me guess, he wouldn't." Hunter said

"Right in one." Fred said

"But that was all your savings!" Vanessa gasped

"Tell me about it. Course, we found out what was going on in the end. Lee Jordan's dad had had a bit of trouble getting money off Bagman as well. Turns out he's in big trouble with the goblins. Borrow loads of gold off them." George said "A gang of them cornered him in the woods after the World Cup and took all his debts. They followed him all the way to Hogwarts to keep an eye on him. He's lost everything gambling. Hasn't got two Galleons to rub together. And you know how the idiot tried to pay the goblins back?"

"How?" Artism asked

"He put a bet on Harry, mate." Fred said "Put a big bet on him to win the tournament. Bet against the goblins."

"That's why he's been trying to help him." Vanessa glared

"But he tied with Vanessa and I, that's not technically winning." Hunter said

"That's what the Goblins said. Said Harry drew with you two, and Bagman was betting Harry would win outright. So Bagman had to run for it. He did run for it right after the third task." George said with a sigh.

When their carriage stopped at the platform they gathered their stuff on the train before stepping in. Vanessa and Hunter got a compartment with their friends and talked for a bit. When the trolley came to their compartment they had bought some desserts while Hunter bought the Daily Prophet. He wanted to see if they mentioned anything that happened. But there was nothing. Not even an article from Rita Skeeter. He was sure she would have written something with a story he and Harry had told.

"Looks like Fudge is forcing the Daily Prophet to keep hush about the last task." He said

"I doubt he could keep Skeeter quiet for long." Malcome said

"That's what I thought but she hasn't written anything. At least not in today's prophet." Hunter muttered

While he continued reading the Prophet Malcome nudged his arm and pointed out Lucas. The twin stopped at their compartment and looked at them with a blank look before walking away. He and Lucas almost had another fight in the Slytherin Common Room again. Well, mostly with all the Slytherins. It was thanks to Draco, who couldn't keep his mouth shut. The boy and a few other Slytherins were glad of Voldemorts' return and told Hunter and his friends that it was time for them to pick a side. Hunter, Mal and their friends said they would never join Voldemort's side. Lucas saw this as Hunter is denouncing their father.

.

.

.

"You will go against your own flesh and blood." He hissed in parseltongue.

"Like I told him in the graveyard, I only have one father. And his name is Hades." Hunter said in Parseltongue. "If you want to join him blindly, then go ahead but you'll be another tool in his eyes."

"You're just doing this for her." Lucas glared "For that filthy…"

Lucas stopped when Hunter's wand was under his chin.

"Call her that word…I dare you. You suddenly don't feel anything for her after finding out that she has vampire blood in her. You're just as pathetic as that man and those who raised you." Hunter growled

"So…this is your choice. You'll go against your family for her." Lucas glared

"Yes. But not only that. I believe in Voldemort's beliefs. We are no different than those he hates." Hunter said

Lucas pushed him away and took out his wand. Before either of them could cast any spells Professor Snape came in and put a stop to it. Since then the two have gone back to ignore each other.

.

.

.

Hunter didn't really care as he can handle himself and no still hasn't dared to challenge him after what he did to that one Slytherin. He placed the Daily Prophet down and wrapped an arm around Vanessa, making her lean her head on his shoulder.

In the forest that surrounded Hogsmeade there is a waterfall that some knew about. A woman in her mid 70's sat down on one of the rocks near it while looking at a photo in hands. It was a picture of five teenagers near the same falls. In the middle was fifteen year old Tom Riddle with one arm around Victoria Tepes and another arm around another girl the same age as him with black hair and the same blue eyes as Tom. He was whispering something into Victoria's ear and the other girl had to jab him in the stomach to get him to look at the camera. He gave a friendly glare at her and she just smiled. She knew that he wouldn't harm her as she was one of the few held dear to him.

"It has been a long time, Mariana Riddle."

Looking down at the ground she saw that it was Professor Dumbledore.

"Or should I now call you Mrs. Frey." He smiled

"Hello Professor Dumbledore." She said

Surprisingly with her age she was able to jump off the rock and gracefully landed on the ground.

"So what brings you back to Britain after all this time?" He asked

"I've heard what happened after the Triwizards Tournament." She said "Is it true?"

"Yes, I'm afraid so. Even though the Ministry refuses to believe it, Voldemort is back." He said, "That is why I am a bit surprised that you came back."

"I'm tired of running away from this. It's time that I finally step into the battle. I owe it to Victoria." She said and looked at the photo again. "I need to stop my brother."
