True to her word, Anemone immediately put herself to work, contacting other people she knew if they still had a sip or anything they could use to traverse the sea, and get to the broken remains of what was the Bunker.

It took a few days of preparation, but indeed there was still a freighter of the Resistance still working, to which Robin found out it was the same one she found on the shore after the attack, where she'd scavenged those supplies that just a few hours later would have saved her life.

Good thing she wanted to be prepared for anything.

In the meantime the rest just sat quietly, juggling between fixing rooms at the camps, Robin and A2's own one, and aiding 21O in finding her own little place where she could stay, but to her wish, to not disturb anyone, much less the resident couples, she asked for a room for herself only.

And also sharing information too. During these days they had made 21O aware of anything they had found about humans, about themselves and their creation, and Robin's creation.

Needless to say she was less than happy to hear about it. Her, one of the people at YoRHa that believed in their mission the most, alongside 2B probably.

Completely baffled at the lack of respect that their creators had for them, as had been everyone else.

But eventually she had to accept the reality of facts, just like they had, because they couldn't change the past, and how things were. They could only move forward, and make their own future now.

And in their near future there was their group, Anemone, Jackass, the twins, and a ship, headed towards said remains of that past.

Ship that Robin was currently steering with practiced ease.

Years had passed, but the action felt as natural as ever, as it was hearing the waves rocking against the hull, the smell of the sea in the air as the wind blew in her face.

A wave of nostalgia washed over her as soon as she took hold of the helm, only now she truly felt how much she'd missed the call of the sea, and sailing through it.

"You're pretty good at this." the voice of Jackass made itself be heard, as she took her place at her side.

A2 immediately sat up in alert from her other side, where she was comfortably sitting against the railing. She did not like the first impression the scientist left on her, and she hoped she wouldn't get strange ideas, or start touching somewhere.

"Memories of a past not mine." Robin just replied.

She and the others already made up a plan to explain why she was an expert in such things, if someone should ask and they believed they would.

It was simply to tell them it was her false memories, as far as the Resistance was concerned, they didn't know if it could have been true or not, since they did possess those memories too.

The Resistance couldn't know if they were lying or not about all YoRHas having those memories too, since the first units did have them.

Robin's own memories were ones of an explorer. That also helped in making up an excuse as to why she was so curious, and being honest, it wasn't all that far from the truth. She obviously omitted the whole part of being a pirate and any mention of her tragic past.

A half lie that was less truthful than the one she'd told A2 the first time, but she had to be careful here.

Didn't want anyone doubting her, while before A2 was free to make up her own mind about it, because they weren't even allies yet, and not knowing her, she could have said anything she wanted and leave A2 to wonder if it was true or not, which she did.

But now that Robin had been more close to these people, the situation could become rather complicated easily, should they find something out before she decided to tell the actual truth.

Something she still hesitated on doing.

The truth was, she had no idea how to even start approaching the subject with the Resistance, other than being totally terrified at the prospect of possibly messing up, or even breaking the relationships she built, but also that her YoRHa companions built with those people too.

And there was no way to not get them involved either, because they knew, they were aware, so they could be taken for liars too.

Also they already said they would stick at her side, should anything of that kind happen.

Only because they knew the truth and the cruelty of it all.

But for now probably better to focus on the task at hand. Should she find more data, then maybe it could help her prove her innocence.

What 9S found was useful, yet, she felt it wasn't enough. That there had to be more.

She couldn't quite explain it, but those documents hadn't answered all of her questions. If anything she had even more of them now.

"What are you hoping to find?" 21O had asked her, as one of these previous days they had gathered in hers and A2's room to speak about the whole memory issue.

"Answers." she replied.

"I have no reason to doubt the documents about the creation of my body, and the way I have been abducted, and that memory manipulated. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to see that one as clearly as every other." so it must have been true how it had been changed accordingly, so she'd think that White had saved her, like they wanted her to believe.

"It's the reasons, the motives that seem too weak to me. Why go so far as to send a squad to another planet, only to gather a single human, make up a plan to kill her, and make her become an android, just to get rid of one person?"

Her eyes had traveled to A2 as she spoke. "No matter how much of a nuisance someone can be, why go that far for just this? There has to be more to it."

"If they wanted humans, why not just abduct a bunch of us, instead of just me. Then, why go so far to change my body? And even the whole making up of my death, what if it wouldn't have worked? Why not just abduct me without all of that? Even with my devil fruit, there was no way I could have ever outmatched the strength of the weakest android, even by using hundreds of my hands."

Besides the fact that said androids could have easily just broken them with only a well placed hit, and not even needing to use their full strength for it.

Having had both bodies, Robin knew well the difference of raw power the two possessed. Even just a piece of metal heavy enough could kill a person.

She could most likely do that if she tried with the body she had now. That, as far as she knew, was both the tallest and heaviest in the whole YoRHa.

Something about her height as a human being was at fault, as far as she read.

Not that she was too concerned about it, it was what it was. She didn't choose to change, and much like many things, she and the others just had to accept.

But it didn't mean that they couldn't find out more about these secrets.

That was why her reasons to head to the fallen Bunker were more than simply looking for survivors, or people they could rebuild. She was on a mission to find as much as possible about anything she could get her hands on.

She had been thinking as to how to ask to get there for a while, and when 2B spoke about 6O, that had been the perfect occasion to throw the bait to the others.

9S had sworn to aid her with it, being the proud and proficient Scanner model he was.

At this point what else could they find that could hurt them? Wasn't this bad enough?

"We'll have to get there using lifeboats, I can't risk steering the ship too close to the debris, it could get stuck, or worse, damaged." and they sort of needed it to go back like air.

Better not to damage anything.

"We should split in three groups, our Pods can fish out of the water should we fall in, and also to communicate, we should keep one each." she glanced at her little companion.

Even though she was in no danger of drowning anymore, it was nice to know that there was something always ready to come and get her should that happen. She wished she had a companion like 007 when she was younger.

Would have made things so much easier.

"Well 21O and I decided to focus on information gathering." 9S announced. He was the best unit suited for that, and 21O being an ex-Operator was also good at it.

"And I will accompany them." 2B said, and judging from 042 already making its way towards the twins, she assumed that 153 would be the Pod they'd be using.

"I'll join you and Number 2, if you don't mind, as a survivor search party." Anemone nodded, of course she would want to stay close to A2, being the good friend she was.

That left the twins and the scientist on their own devices, with 042 tagging along.

"If we're settled then I suppose we should be on our way."

Three groups, three people, three Pods each and also three boats. The irony of it matching numbers, but it was a good thing, for as ironic as it sounded.

But there was nothing fun in what they were about to do.

The Bunker looked even bigger than what it already was, all broken down and so close to their faces. If it hadn't already been destroyed, someone could think it could crush them like a wrecking ball, for how menacing it seemed.

There was no longer smoke from the fire, probably it had been extinguished from all the water surrounding it, however the broken structure was surrounded by a thin veil of mist.

It was almost pretty, hadn't it been the place of a tragedy.

It reminded Robin of Ohara a bit, though she had no idea what the island looked like after its destruction. She never went back to it, she couldn't, to not risk being found out and caught, and also because she knew she wouldn't have had the courage to lay her eyes on it if she tried.

The Bunker was where she'd been born a second time, somewhat of a home where she could retire and stay, among the people that were now her similars. For as cold as it was, it was better than nothing at all.

Of course she'd always prefer the hideout at the facility, or the room in the camp she and A2 had now, to refer to as home.

The warmth of the people close to her made everything a home.

She, A2 and Anemone were the last to approach the fallen structure. Since she was the most adept about boats, she thought it would be best to leave the exploration of the side further away from their ship to her group.

At least her strength of android made it easy to steer the little boat against the current, much easier than all the times she used these things to run away from pirate ships.

The outer ring of the Bunker, now sunken in the sea, allowed them to have a path to enter inside, serving as stepping stone to lay their boat, and for them to walk on to get in the inner sphere.

She secured the boat first, then followed her two companions.

"What are we even starting from?" Anemone asked, not knowing what to do all too well.

It was true that she had spent weeks, months, moving the debris of the Tower, in search of Number 2, but right here and right now, she didn't even know what to look for.

"Move things around, I suppose." A2 shrugged as she made her way in the opening left from the piece of the outer ring they were walking on. The thing had made a hole in the sphere, as if it hit it like a stick and it broke.

Inside, there wasn't much, but both Robin and A2 could recognize somewhat of a glimpse of what once was the main corridor, that stretched all around the structure, and that allowed them to reach their own rooms.

"Not a place I ever thought I'd come back to." A2 commented, taking sight of the destroyed hallway. "If not to try and claim White's head."

"For yourself or for a promise made to Number 16?" so Anemone remembered that too.

"Both, I suppose." she shrugged. "That woman needed to pay for what she did to us, and to everyone else that came after. She got the easy way out."

"I wanted her head skewered on my sword."

Robin didn't say anything, preferring to head in the opposite direction instead. She had little to add to the conversation anyways.

In the days before coming to this place, she read and re-read the documents A2 had found about her creation, and about the whole lie about humanity being dead. In these, there was often this Council mentioned, the Council of Humanity, she had heard the name even before, through those messages her Pod sometimes broadcasted, that she was always told not to worry about, and now she knew they were all fake and programmed beforehand.

Programmed, like the breach in the server that the machines would infect with a logic virus, that would easily exterminate the entire YoRHa, cause the fall of the Bunker itself, to make space for newer and better androids.

Newer androids, like back then in A2's first mission, everything had been set up from the start, to purposefully kill all of them and create new units, much like it probably would have happened if the conflict with machines wasn't resolved.

In all of these events there was always a setup in advance. In every single one.

Just like back then in her home the attack of the Buster Call had been set up too, the Marine acted under the orders of the World Government. The Government and its sages were the driving force who gave orders, and the Marine the puppets that executed them.

Much like White and her soldiers, but… who was giving orders to her?

After pondering about the Council and its role in her acquisition like she read in her documents, she came to the conclusion that much like the Marine, White probably was just someone's puppet that did the will of whoever was above her, and subsequently, all of YoRHa.

This didn't forgive her for acting in certain ways of course, but explained many things.

If that was the truth…

While walking ahead on the debris lost in thought, she failed to notice she was heading towards a submerged part, as she mercilessly slipped and fell in the cold water.

Her Pod reacted immediately, grabbing her hand with his appendages and lifting her up, and as it did, she swore her eyes caught sight of something…

A2 and Anemone, who had immediately ran over when they noticed the splashing sound helped 007 in lifting her up quickly, yet something told her she had to go back in there.

"What the hell distracted you so hard now?" A2 half growled, by now she knew of Robin's thinking habits, and how much she could get stuck in her mind that she'd fail to notice anything else.

She shook her head, wiping the water from her eyes, again, looking in the water, she could catch a glimpse of whatever that was down there… or whoever…

"I think there's someone down there."

Without waiting for a reply, she threw herself in the water again, she had to know.

With a well placed hit with her shoulder, 2B threw the piece of metal that was blocking them from accessing the main hall down. 9S immediately rushed in, followed by the two women.

"If the main terminal still works, it's here." 21O was talking about the terminal the Commander used, that only she could access.

Well, that was a half made lie, though it was only White that used it, any Scanner could hack it, she knew because 9S did so, more than once. And promptly dealt with as he was found out.

That thing was the archive of pretty much any file contained in the Bunker's server. Anything, from the specs of every single unit, to every single order given and received, mission registers, military data, machine data, weapon data, human data, and of course, classified information.

She had guided him where it was, in hopes that if it was somehow still active, even a little, 9S would be able to salvage anything. Most importantly information regarding YoRHa units, if truly they wanted to go through in trying to rebuild at least a few of the people.

To try and rebuild 6O…

21O could feel her chest tighten at the memory of the bright Operator, feeling she knew she shared with the Battler in the room, but for two entirely different reasons.

It took her these few days of clarity to realize how important 6O had been to her, and how much she longed for her presence, her voice, her smile…

She hadn't known until she lost her, and she couldn't even understand it, or begin to, as the virus corroded her brain, until she'd been taken and remade, and brought back to life.

But now she knew.

She supposed she understood now why 9S, despite all the pain she'd caused him, always longed for 2B, and the other way around, she knew, she saw it.

She now knew what longing for a person you loved felt, and how soul crushing it felt not having them at your side.

So 21O watched in silence as 9S successfully did manage to hack in the terminal, despite what happened it still had some life in it. He stood still, with his hands in front of him, yellow circles of light emanating from them.

He was deep into the server, yet, he had a smile on his face that only became bigger and bigger as time passed…

Did that mean…

"2B, her data is here!"

At the revelation, 21O released a breath she didn't know she was holding.

The Battler rushed at her side, as she looked at the screen he was showing. "The terminal is damaged, but this is definitely 6O's data. We can rebuild her entirely even if we don't find a body, the twins said it would be possible."

"There is stuff on other units too, should we want to give them an opportunity."

"And the Commander?" this time he shook his head. "Her data is in there, but too damaged to make up anything."

A nuisance really.

Hopefully the others will be satisfied, they certainly were, they got what they needed, and perhaps more, it was enough.

"Robin, are you crazy!?"

She ignored the muffled shout A2 gave her when she threw herself in the sea again. Not like she could reply unless she wanted water to enter her mouth, and internal systems too.

A splash nearby told her that a certain Attacker did follow her, despite the actions she took, and then a second one, smaller, Anemone has submerged herself halfway through, holding herself to a piece of debris with one arm she was able to poke her head in and out in the water, so she could see too.

Taking A2 by the arm she directed her towards where she'd seen that thing.

And when they got closer, she knew exactly what that was.

A piece of hair, blonde, was sticking out from a rather large and heavy boulder. So there was someone in there, but the hair color alone didn't give away anything on who it could have been.

With a nod to A2, and their combined strength, they pushed the thing up, enough so Pod 007 could come closer, and with its NFCS systems, was able to lift the person away and out of the water.

They'd check who that was once they were back out.

With the help of Anemone, they both managed to emerge, enough so they could hold themselves up grabbing the debris, until 007 would be free to aid them.

Robin coughed some water out, as she could hear A2 do the same near her.

"Never been a good swimmer?" the white haired rogue joked.

"I've always been more of an anchor." she chuckled, a little humor to lighten the mood.

"So, who did we find?"

Robin gazed ahead, crawling to lift her heavy body out of the sea. Her eyes widened at the realization, as did the ones of her companions.

"I can't believe it… of all people…" A2's words were almost an angry growl.

And she understood why.

Long blonde hair, and white clothing, for whatever remained of it. She must not have been in a position where the boulder that crashed on her body could crush her entirely, but damaged, missing a leg and part of an arm and head, along with the pole that stuck out from her chest and black box confirming certain death…

… There was White…
