[Midoriya Residence, Saturday of Week 2]
The first thing that Izuku noticed when he woke up was a note on his desk from C.C stating that she'd be arriving home later on in the day. He didn't question it because C.C was always mysterious, as he ate breakfast, he thought about Toga and their portrait project.
He then heard a knock on the front door, when he opened it, he saw Toga standing before him with a backpack over her shoulders. She was wearing a white t-shirt with black overalls covering it, a black necklace and orange cap with a tiny pink heart on the side as well as on her ear three circular piercings. She looked stunning as the morning sunlight hit her face, allowing for him to clearly see her bright smile.
"Hey Izu-kun, ready to draw me?" asked Toga as she walked into the boy's apartment. She took in the surroundings as she noticed the photos of the boy and his mother. By the tv was a picture of the boy, his mother and a bright green haired woman, causing the girl to do a double take as this was very intriguing to the blond teen.
"You have an older sister, Izu-kun?" asked the girl to which the boy nodded.
"Yeah, but she's doing something right now and she didn't tell me what it was. So, how are we going to do this?" asked the green haired boy, removing his jacket revealing his shirt with stars all over it and the kanji for star in the middle.
"You can draw me first! Draw me with as much passion as you would All Might, okay?" said the girl flirtatiously. Izuku blushed as he responded to the girl.
"W-Was already planning to! By the way, I like your outfit, it looks really good on you" said the boy as he began drawing the girl as she posed on his kitchen chair. She began to blush at his compliment as she stuttered out thanks. For the next 10 minutes, both teens sat in peaceful silence until he finished up her sketch, which turned out great if Toga's reaction was anything to go off of.
"IZU-KUN! Thank you soo much, how can your senpai make it up to you? Anything you want, perhaps a kiss or evenn…" the girl wiggled her eyebrows with a mischievous grin on her face as Izuku's face reddened to the point that you could mistake him for a tomato. He quickly turned away as he responded to her.
"J-Just put in the same effort as I did into your portrait, alright?" asked Izuku, as he took a seat on the kitchen chair, while Toga started drawing on the canvas. Izuku struggled to sit still for a while which led to the blond girl having to restart the whole portrait over three times.
"Andd done! So, d-do you like it?" asked the girl hesitantly, handing the boy his portrait.
He smiled as she put a lot of detail onto his eyes and hair, but his favorite part was the details of the background. She was a really good artist, even managing to capture the kitchen setting in the background, which Izuku couldn't do.
"It's perfect, thanks Toga! I really appreciate this" said the boy with a smile that could warm even the coldest of hearts. He decided to make some green matcha tea as the two students ate some apple pie.
"So, what's your plan for today. I was gonna head to this cafe, and I wanted to invite you, Shinso, and Mei. Of course if you have other plans-" the girl was cut off by Izuku waving his hands.
"No, if we go quickly then we can all hang out before my shift at work" said Izuku as he finished his plate of pie. Toga beamed as she messaged the other two in their group chat to meet the two at the cafe, immediately getting an 'okay' from Mei and three minutes later a 'fine' from a grumpy Shinso. Izuku guessed correctly that he wouldn't be a morning person.
[Ashford Cafe]
Izuku sat at a table with Toga as they waited for their friends. Izuku ordered some tea while Toga got an iced coffee, the two teens were discussing how the pre-quirk country of Britannia had an interesting reign as a tyrant named Lelouch.
The guy temporarily took over the world before getting assassinated by the masked Zero. Lelouch in Toga's opinion was 'hot' while Izuku was more intrigued by the guy's tactical prowess as he managed to take over the world at age 18.
Mei arrived shortly after their conversation ended, followed by a slightly annoyed Shinso. Mei took a seat beside Izuku and Shinso beside Toga as they ordered their drinks and food.
"Hey guys! I was working on something really cool but I could use the break. So, what have you two been doing today?" asked a rather excited Mei, despite it being pretty early into the morning. Shinso groaned as he sipped his cup of coffee.
"O-Oh, well Toga & I were doing our portrait projects at my apartment. It was pretty fun and I learned that she is the better artist between the two of us" said Izuku, chuckling. Toga blushed at his compliment before refuting his statement.
"A-Anyways, Shinso why did you come if you're so tired? I honestly expected you to say no" asked Toga, as she sipped her boba tea and took a bite out of her strawberry cake. The purple haired teen shrugged before answering her.
"Well I was already awake because of my moron little brother's alarm clock. So, I needed a reason to leave the house or I'd break something…" said the boy angrily. The two girls were quiet after that as Izuku began laughing, surprising the three teens.
"I'm glad we helped. I can get pretty frustrated with C-my sister, so I completely understand the feeling" said Izuku. Mei beamed as she remembered her time at his apartment.
"Oh yeah, Izuku please tell your sister that I'd love to have a pizza party on my birthday! That was so good last time" said the inventive teen, slightly drooling.
Izuku wiped a tissue against her mouth to get rid of the drool as the two teens' eyes locked into one another. Izuku's face started reddening while Mei just tilted her head in confusion, when Shinso coughed loudly to get their attention.
"How long were you gonna stare into her eyes like that Izuku? Didn't know she had the brainwashing quirk" said the boy smirking. Izuku looked at his tea as he rubbed his neck in embarrassment, while Toga & Mei laughed at him.
"So, what are plans for after Aldera? I'm planning to get into the support course for UA!" exclaimed Mei happily. Shinso grinned before responding.
"I'm aiming for UA's hero course, hopefully I make it in" said Shinso. The two noticed their two other friends quietly sitting as they seemingly hadn't planned that far ahead.
"I think…I could make it into UA's general education course. I've never really thought about the hero course because of my quirk, I wouldn't be a good person for that type of thing, what about you, Izuku?" asked Toga, hesitantly.
Izuku personally told himself he couldn't go to UA because of his geass and how dangerous he might become if he overused it in the hero course. So, he planned to go to some school to get a regular education and live a normal life.
"I-I think I'll just go to a regular high school. Not much a quirkless person like me can do, sadly. Don't worry about me though, I'm glad that you're all going to achieve your dreams" said Izuku wistfully. His friends stared at him blankly before Mei spoke up.
"Oh c'mon Izuku! Join us at UA, you could try for the hero course or support course, hell even general. No offense, Toga" said Mei, passive aggressively. Izuku's eyes slowly widened as he watched Shinso & Toga nod in agreement with Mei's statement. He wasn't used to having so much support and to be honest he had liked their little group, the more he got to know them, the more he knew it'd hurt to split up.
"Y-You guys…I-I appreciate this. I'll think about it, just give me three years" said Izuku, chuckling as he wiped away his tears. Mei pulled him in for a gentle hug as the boy looked out the window with tears in his eyes.
[An Hour Later]
Izuku headed home to get dressed for work. His friends were chasing after their dreams while he put his own on hold due to fear, it wasn't fair to himself. They opened his eyes and motivated him to rethink his decision, as he arrived home he noticed familiar bright green hair entering the apartment.
"Hey C.C, what were you doing?" asked Izuku as he walked into the apartment. He noticed sunglasses on the kitchen table as his fake sister rummaged through a duffel bag.
"Oh Izuku, thought you'd be at work. Busy stalking out the Shie Hassaikai, heard something about them being interested in a certain green haired teenager. You should really be careful today on your way to work or if you're out with any friends because you'll be putting them in danger. Welp, I've gotta get back to that. Have fun at work, Izuku!" said the immortal witch as she walked out the apartment. Leaving the shocked boy to process all her information as he started to get more paranoid.
'This is such a fucking mess. Why did I have to attract the attention of all the people…' thought Izuku as he headed to work.
[Go-Go's General Store]
Izuku was happy that his coworkers were on shift as well. In case something happened at the store, they could call the police as Izuku decided he would use his geass on the Yakuza if they started trouble.
Izuku watched carefully as customers came and went through the door. After four hours, he was starting to relax as it seemed he was being paranoid for no reason as he pulled out his phone and watched a video sent to him by Shinso.
It was about a cat managing to make a fool out of Kamui Woods as it hopped from tree to tree. It was pretty funny to see but it also prevented Izuku from noticing a rather suspicious man entering the store with a child.
"Hello, welcome to…Go-Go's G-General Store" stammered a shocked Izuku. Before him was a man in a green jacket, wearing a black bird mask on his face and short brown hair and beside him was a little girl with white hair & a grey jacket.
She was shaking and looked at Izuku with fear in her eyes, which he found alarming. Clearly this girl was in trouble but the guy she was with, was the head of the Shie Hassaikai.
"I'll be purchasing these…" said the man coldly. This man sent shivers down his spine just from his voice.
He placed down a pack of bandages, a unicorn plushie and a popular children's cereal on the counter. Izuku found this odd until he remembered the robber from before as he processed that the man was buying the stuff for this child.
Izuku rummaged from behind the counter as he looked for something, confusing the man & child. After a minute he reappeared from the bottom of the counter, holding a strawberry lollipop as he handed it to the little girl as he ruffled her hair. The man watches with curiosity as he watches the two's interaction.
"Why?" Was all the girl could say as she stared at Izuku with puzzled eyes. He smiled as warmly as he could as he answered her.
"You looked sad, so I wanted to put a smile on your face. Keep this a secret, just between us because I wasn't supposed to give you that. Sir, your total is 1,785.33 yen" said Izuku, immediately going back to being cautious when he spoke to the man. The girl giggled as she looked at Izuku in awe then began to unwrap the lollipop happily.
"Alright. By the way Midoriya, if you're interested, I'd like to pay you to babysit my daughter here. She isn't very easy to make happy and yet you managed to do so easily, I'm pretty busy and don't get much time to look after her. I'll give you a month to think about it, call this number when you've made up your mind. Let's go, Eri" said the man as he finished paying for his items and headed out the door, brushing up against Shinso & Mei. He began scratching his jacket sleeve as squeezed Eri's hand tightly as they walked out of sight.
Shinso's face paled when he looked back at the guy then to Izuku. Mei on the other hand, was more focused on the rubik's cube in her hand as she didn't notice the man at all. His two friends approached him as they greeted him.
"W-What are you two doing here?" asked a startled Izuku, who was so focused on the yakuza leader's request, that he didn't notice them walk in. Mei grinned as she tossed her rubik's cube to the boy, who clumsily caught it.
"Well Mei came up with the great idea to keep you company while you're working your shift. How much time do you have left on your shift anyway?" asked Shinso. Izuku checked his phone as he noticed that he had just a few hours left.
"Three hours left. I don't blame you if you want to leave before then…" said Izuku as he began attempting Mei's rubiks cube. Just then his coworker came over to swap shifts with him as he began working on stocking the shelves, with Shinso & Mei following behind him.
"So…Izuku, did you realize that your last customer was the freaking leader of the Shie Hassaikai? I don't know how you can stay so calm after an encounter like that" said the boy with a raised eyebrow.
"The shie who? Is that something I should know?" asked Mei with a confused expression.
{No!} said both boys in unison as she shrugged and went back to her phone. Izuku mentally debated for a minute whether he should tell her about the proposition that he was given by the man before deciding to tell them.
"Look, he…he offered me a babysitting job? I have a month to get back to him on it, I think that I might take it" said Izuku calmly. Shinso put both hands on the green haired boy's shoulder as he looked him in the eyes.
"Do you have a death wish?! How could you even think of accepting that, Midoriya? If it was any other person fine, but the freaking yakuza…" exclaimed Shinso, catching the attention of Mei. She now looked more interested in the boys' conversation, as she looked up from her phone.
"Did you say yakuza? I'd like to meet them, because they have a lot of money! I could use that money to fund my babies, you're so lucky, Izuku" said Mei with stars in her eyes.
"I-I wouldn't call myself lucky to be in the eyes of someone so dangerous. Look Shinso, you didn't see the look in his daughter's eyes…she needs saving and I might be the only person who can help her. I can't just leave her alone after seeing how much fear she had in her eyes…" said Izuku with a pained expression.
The boy was feeling guilty for not using his geass on the man, if he did then she'd be fine. However now, she is gone with her father suffering a cruel fate that he didn't even know when she should be having the happiest years of her life.
"I understand. When we walked past that weird bird guy, I looked at the kid who was wrapped in bandages, she stared at me with complete fear as if I was the boogeyman. Definitely something wrong there" said Mei nonchalantly chiming in.
"Fine, but tell me you're bringing your sister with you at least?" asked Shinso, reluctantly accepting his friend's reasoning as he couldn't deny he'd feel the same in his situation. However, Izuku would be going into danger, completely powerless to defend himself and that was something he wouldn't allow.
"Yeah of course! I'm not that dumb, Shinso. If you're worried about my safety then don't worry, I took care of Bakugo didn't I?" said Izuku smirking. Shinso raised an eyebrow as Mei looked at the two completely out of the loop as they all began to laugh.
[End of Izuku's Shift]
As the trio walked out of the store, they discussed a popular social media influencer, who was revealed to be a vigilante. This led to an interesting conversation on vigilantism between the three teens; Izuku's opinion vigilantes being that they are just people who want to help those who heroes might not be able to reach, while Shinso thinks that since they don't follow the rules, they're too dangerous to trust. Mei on the other hand, decided that if she could she'd make gear for vigilantes because to quote her "any hero is a good hero". Both boy's struggled to refute her logic as they continued down a secluded street until Izuku noticed a guy running towards them from behind, he pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the trio.
"Hey kid, you're coming with me! If you come quietly then I won't kill your friends" shouted the guy with a similar bird mask as the yakuza leader from earlier. Izuku found this odd as the leader had no reason to threaten him if he gave him a month, but he didn't have time to think of an explanation because his friends were in danger and he was the only one who could keep his friends safe.
"L-Look, I'll come j-just calm down…" said Izuku nervously, as he slowly approached the man while digging into his backpack for a textbook that he could throw at him.
The man shot a bullet towards Shinso & Mei, luckily Shinso tackled Mei out of the way of the bullet. Izuku's face went from nervous to blank, he processed the fact that he had just seen his friends nearly die because of him. The street went quiet as Izuku's killing intent could be felt by the man & his friends. Shinso & Mei stared with shock as they watched Izuku's eyes go from emerald to crimson as he stared the yakuza member dead in the eyes then spoke up.
"I command you to toss that gun over to the purple haired boy right there, NOW!" ordered the green haired boy, in an uncharacteristically authoritative voice. Shinso clumsily caught the pistol as it was thrown to him abruptly as soon as the words came from Izuku's mouth, Mei just stood mouth agape as she couldn't process how he was doing this.
"Stand still as I read your memories…" commanded Izuku as eyes switched back to green for a second before returning back to crimson. His two friends just watched in awe as Izuku's personality did a complete 180. After two minutes, Izuku let out a sigh as he spoke up again.
"Forget everything about me, your little plan and head back to wherever you're supposed to be" said Izuku as the guy walked away from the trio. Izuku turned around to his friends eyes still glowing as they slowly backed away from the boy, afraid of what he was about to do to them.
"Guess I'll have to erase your memories again…" said Izuku somberly. Mei frantically waved her arms in front of his face.
"WAIT IZUKU! I promise that I won't tell anyone, PLEASEE!" pleaded Mei, humorously as she got on her knees in a praying motion. Izuku chuckled as Shinso angrily punched Mei's shoulder.
"HEY DOOFUS, why'd you say 'I' instead of 'we' as if I want my memory wiped?" asked an angry Shinso. Izuku's eyes went back to normal as he pulled out his phone. Mei got up from the ground as the two looked cautiously at him.
"I trust you. We couldn't be friends if I didn't, please don't ask about what my power is though" said Izuku as he continued walking. The other two ran up after him as they walked with the sun setting behind them.
"Aw that sucks I guess…thanks Izuku. I-I was scared…" said Mei as she abruptly hugged the green haired teen. He moved her dreadlocks to see that she was crying as he wiped away her tears with the sleeve of his jacket. Shinso and him shared a glance as the purple haired boy was as confused as he was at what to say.
"H-Hatsume, I'd never let him hurt either of you even if I had to reveal my powers to you both. Heck I'd do it in a heart beat again" said Izuku, faking a grin as she hugged him tightly as she silently wept in his arms.
The trio split up to go home shortly after Mei managed to calm down, reassuring the two that she could get home on her own and that she had her own taser just in case. They didn't believe her so she pulled it out from in-between her chest. Least to say, the group fell into an awkward silence. After a few minutes both boys quickly went home after the awkward moment, leaving Mei confusedly alone on the street as she didn't know what their issue was.
[Midoriya Residence]
Izuku laid on his couch, enjoying the calmness of the empty apartment when the door slammed open as C.C walked into the apartment with her long coat covered in blood. Izuku abruptly stood up and ran towards her as she took a seat at the kitchen chair. She waved off his concerns as she sipped a can of canned coffee, putting her sunglasses on the table.
"Seems like the Shie Hassaikai are planning something. Their boss, Kai Chisaki, walked out of their compound with some scared little brat, then appeared an hour later with a bag from the brand of your store and the little girl was now smiling as she enjoyed a lollipop in her mouth. Then when I finally plan to go home, some big brute from the yakuza tried to flirt with me and when I didn't want to talk to him, he tried to use his quirk to fucking kill me! The nerve of some people, I'm too old for such a ruffian…" muttered C.C. Izuku smiled at hearing how his gift made Eri so happy, but frowned when he heard about the guy who messed with C.C.
"So…what did you do?" asked Izuku, confused as to why her coat was covered in blood.
"Oh, I shot him with my pistol. Oh don't look at me like that, this world's kill or be killed. The sooner you learn that, the better" said C.C sternly. Izuku ignored the fact that she just admitted to murder as he remembered that she'd lived for multiple centuries, so this wouldn't be the first time she's done this. He rubbed his neck as he responded to her.
"A-Actually, I learned that already…" said Izuku nervously as he proceeded to spend the next hour filling her in on everything that occurred from Kai Chisaki's visit to the store, to the attack on him & his friends. She frowned as she pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance.
"So let me get this straight, you want to knowingly walk into yakuza territory to play hero for the little brat…you're the stupidest person that I've given this power to. Fine actually…you'll go by yourself but tell them that if you don't return home by a certain time then I'll contact the police. You better not die and don't even think about rescuing the kid if you find out some terrible stuff, you're no professional. I need to clean myself and relax, if you need me, you know where to find me" said the greenette as she headed upstairs. Izuku sighed as he got what he needed from his sister. Just then his mother arrived home as she set down some bags onto the kitchen counter.
"Hey mom, can we have katsudon tonight?" asked Izuku, tiredly. Inko smiled as she ruffled his hair.
"Of course, Izuku! Just give me 30 minutes and it'll be ready. So, how was your day?" asked his mother, humming as she put away the groceries that she'd put on the counter. Izuku stared at her as he sighed heavily.
"Pretty uneventful to be honest. Just a normal day although my friends stopped by to hang out with me till my shift was done" said Izuku, tiredly. Although it was a half truth, his day had been anything but uneventful. He decided that he'd take the entire month before responding with the man as he was already drained from one encounter with the guy, dealing with him again so soon would be the death of him.
