Lucy sat, legs crossed, and stared at Miroku, who was across from her, outside what she called an old-fashioned magic circle.
"Focus, Lucy. I want to see if my array can help contain your magic and the Shikon's power while you meditate," Miroku said. His tone is that of an impatient teacher.
Smiling, Lucy looked away until her eyes met intense amber. Lucy snapped her eyes shut. She was doing her best to focus as Miroku asked. It'd been a few days since she awoke back in her body and in the Demon Lords' arms. She was told his poison was inside her, neutralizing the Snake Spirit Kageromaru. Lucy's brain had made the instant connection he bit her! Now she was having difficulty even looking at him without feeling embarrassed.
Soft chuckling in the back of her head had Lucy snorting. But soon enough, Lucy found her center and accessed her magic and that strange little map. A faint beep let her know another Spirit Key was awakening. And that it was a fair distance away.
The chant's droning had Lucy pull her magic from its two containers. It still amazed her that the usual gold color had swirls of pink, silver, and (literal) acid green. When it swirled in her magic, it was like watching a kaleidoscope. Beautiful to watch, though it made her dizzy. However, Lucy couldn't access the Holy Power of the Shikon and Demon Youki from Sesshomaru.
Giving a hum, Lucy began forming the balls and slowly feeding them to enlarge them.

Sesshomaru watched silently. His level of frustration grew by the day. The damn woman was outright avoiding him, not just physically but with her gaze. And when she spoke, it was as if she was scared. No, that wasn't the right word. But since he was not well versed in the many complexities of human emotions, Sesshomaru did not care to analyze it deeply.
But her avoiding his gaze when she'd always looked him in the eyes, he felt insulted. Sesshomaru had saved her life, and she was being rude and discourteous. And Sesshomaru would get that woman, Lucy, to meet his eyes again one way or another.

Mai watched in awe as Lucy pulled her magic out and formed (very) large golden spheres. It was surprising to see, as was the fact the playboy monk's barrier was holding up decently. The beauty of it all had Mai fighting herself to keep from flying out and touching the manifested magic. A natural instinct for a fairy-like herself.
"Miss Lucy, stop!"
At the cry from the Monk, Mai pulled herself from her thoughts. She could feel her eyes grow wide on her face. It should be impossible! Even the greatest saints and wizards of Earthland couldn't produce this amount of pure magic.
"Please, Miss Lucy, stop. The barrier cannot take it."
The urgency in the Monk's voice sent Mai into action. With a strong flap of her wings, Mai shot forward. Her speed caused the Demon Lord's hair to fly up into his face as she passed by. She was not caring as she slammed into the Monk's barrier piercing through it. Mai knew she was risking her existence, but Lucy could become magicless if not awakened.
So, when she reached Lucy, Mai twisted her body using her speed to make her tail whip Lucy's nose painfully. The loud hiss as Mai saw Lucy's eyes open and her blood going cold from the sheer weight of the anger in those brown and gold orbs. Her little spinning body met the angry gaze of the Demon Lord; silvery-white hair was clinging messily to his face.
In an instant, Mai knew she was in serious trouble. Since between the two sets of golden-colored eyes that did not seem to see her?
"What kind of demon is that?"
At the innocently asked question, Mai felt indignant.
"Mai is not a demon. Mai is a fairy from Earthland!"
She said her piece loud and clear while beating on her puffed-up chest. She realized she had dug herself a deeper hole because she was still stuck between the two angry gazes now focused on her.
