As Jason walked out of the arena he was met by Mei. "That was amazing! I thought you couldn't get a power source for the mech. Is that what that disk was some new kind of battery?" "No, I just made the mech bigger so I could fit a bigger battery in it. The disk is something else," Jason said. Going back to his class section he was bombarded with questions about his tech. He had built most of his tech in secret working on it at home or after hours. Only Mei knew about the mech which he built at home with his teacher's permission. He explained that he wanted them to be a surprise and Mei only knew about the mech because it is hard to hide a Twelve foot robot with a five inch barrel on its arm in your backyard.

After a short break and answering a ton of questions on how his mech worked the next match was set to begin. The match was between Midoriya and Todoroki. Jason expected the match to be short, figuring that whoever struck first would win. Like a western standoff. However the first few seconds showed him how wrong he was. Todoroki started with a massive glacier attack just like his first match, but instead of encasing and immobilizing Midoriya, the ice shattered. Midoriya had used his finger to create a wind pressure attack that blew away all the ice. "Looks like he broke his finger," Mei said. "So he can't keep it up," Jason says. Midoriya needed to end this quickly but he seems to be fighting a war of attrition. At least that was what Jason thought. Todoroki shot out four more glaciers which were all shattered by Midoriya; however, each one was visibly smaller. Todoroki also had visible frost starting to cover his right side. He fired another glacier that Midoriya shattered but he fired off another one that caught Midoriya off guard. Instead of using one finger he broke his entire arm. Overall despite having to break his bones Midoriya was doing quite well. Wait. Midoriya was breaking his bones. And Todoroki is giving himself frostbite. Neither of are normal measure some would take to win some dumb tournament. Sure Midoriya had broken his finger in the first match but had chalked that up to him not being in full control and being desperate. Todoroki might be able to claim that he couldn't feel it since frostbite isn't always obvious when it first starts but his movement indicates that it has progressed enough to be causing pain. Anybody with a normal pain tolerance in either of their positions would have given up and decided that it wasn't worth it. This worried Jason despite only knowing Midoriya for a few hours and not knowing Todoroki at all. He had trained himself to notice things like this and was convinced that both of them were too used to pain for it to be anything other than regular beatings and broken bones. This idea was further supported when Midoriya used his already broken finger to smash Todoroki's ice. The were both too used to pain at too young an age. He would expect this kind of perseverance in fully trained pro heros or military veterans, not students with less than two months of training. The fight continued and Midoriya powered through pain that most people would only be able to do if their life was on the line. Jason could tell that he was talking but he couldn't hear anything over the crowd. Then Todoroki's left side burst into flames and Midoriya broke into a smile. While Jason was happy Midoriya got what he wanted he was also concerned. Todoroki's fire had melted all the ice on his body. It got worse when Endeavor started talking. Despite what the announcers claimed, what Endeavor said were not words of encouragement or the words of a doting father. It sound more like something you tell a slave that tried to run away but got caught. Jason didn't watch the rest of the fight, he had a call to make.

Jason ran to Recovery Girl's office. He needed to see Midoriya and Todoroki. As he entered the nurses office he doesn't see Todoroki, just Midoriya. Standing over him was Recovery Girl and, "All Might '' Jason said surprised. All Might sputtered and said, "I think you are confused, young man. I'm All Might's secretary Toshinori Yagi." "You shouldn't use your real name when you're trying to hide your identity, All Might." All Might's face dropped. "How did you find out?" "Hero licenses have your full names and are public knowledge in the U.S. You got your license while you were in the U.S." Jason says. "I take that into account if this ever comes to pass again. Now why are you here young man?" "Smith." Jason supplied, "I wanted you to check Midoriya over for scars and old fractures." Recovery asked, "Why." "His pain tolerance is disturbingly high. To be able to keep fighting and throwing punches when all your fingers and your right arm is broken is concerning enough that it should be looked into." All Might looked stunned having obviously not considered that. "Okay sweetie we'll look into it." Recovery Girl said. Just as he was about to leave, the rest of Midoriya's friends came through the door. Recovery Girl pushes everyone out and tells them she needs to focus on Midoriya's surgery.

Midoriya was waking up from surgery and saw Recovery Girl and All Might standing at his bed. "Good, you're awake. You have some good friends but something one of them said was disturbing." Recovery Girl said. Before Midoriya could say anything All Might continued, "Young Smith was concerned for your well being and asked us to look for scars or fractures. While we couldn't find any scars and your arms and legs have too many fractures from using One for All, Recovery Girl found a concerning amount of fractures on your ribs and skull. Some of them were years old and the newest was less than two years old. I want you to be honest with me. Where did you get those injuries?" Midoriya, still coming off of the anesthetic and unable to come up with a lie, told them the truth. "It all started when I was four years old." And Midoriya told them everything.

The next couple matches were quick, with Iida and Uraraka throwing their opponents out of bounds in seconds. Jason's match was next and he was up against Kirishima, who had won the arm wrestle. Jason came out in the mech prepared for a quick win. "You may have won the last round with this thing but you'll find that I'm a lot tougher than Bakugo," Kirishima boasted. "Maybe, but you weigh just as much and can't stop yourself once you're in the air." Jason said. This confused Kirishima, at least until the Mech calmly picked him up and held him in the air. Jason held Kirishima for a few seconds as Kirishima fruitlessly tried to escape. Then Jason threw him like a football. With no way to maneuver in the air Kirishima crashed into the grass outside of the ring. As Kirishima was getting up he heard the clunking of the mech ffollowed by depressurization. Looking up he saw Jason, having gotten out of his mech, offering his hand to Kirishima. "Need a hand?" Jason said. Smiling Kirishima took his hand. "Man, that thing is tough." Kirishima said, referring to the mech, "what's it made of?" " A tungsten titanium alloy. It's a lot stronger than steel at a little over half the weight." Jason said. "Hey, you want to sit with us for the next match." Kirishima asked. "Sure, I have to talk to Todoroki anyway." Getting back in his mech Jason continued, "Just let me drop this off."

After bringing the Mech back to the support room Jason joined class 1-A. Todoroki unfortunately was already in his waiting room, however Uraraka was there so he decided to talk to his next opponent. "Hey Uraraka, I'm not going to use the mech against you." Uraraka looked shocked and offended. "What. Why?" She exclaimed. "The mech doesn't have enough long range capabilities and if you got close you could just pick it up and throw it. However I would like to put you through the molecular dissector." Jason looks at Uraraka and sees her horrified. He says, "Don't worry despite its name it doesn't actually dissect you. It takes a scan of your body down to the molecule and uses a physics simulator to determine how a quirk works. Nothing dangerous." "Okay but why would you want me to go through that." Uraraka asked, no longer scared but still very confused. "You have control over gravity. If I can figure out how it works I could make a graviton matrix and revolutionize travel. Imagine a rocket that weighs nothing. It could be put in orbit in seconds with half the fuel." Uraraka's eyes lit up. "I'll help you." Iida and Todoroki's match began. It was a relatively short match, only a couple seconds but it was still very entertaining. Todoroki starts the match by cornering Iida. Iida surprised everyone when he jumped from a standstill over Todoroki's next attack. Using his Recipro Burst technique Iida lands a devastating blow on Todoroki before he picks him up and starts dragging him towards the edge. As he ran however his engines stalled. Todoroki had blocked his mufflers with ice. Todoroki then freezes Iida immobilizing him.

The next fight was about to begin and Uraraka was wondering what Jason would be using. While she knew it wouldn't be the mech Jason hadn't told her what he would be using. Jason on the other hand was checking his tools. He knew this fight would be about who could last the longest. If he could keep Uraraka away and wear her down with his gadgets he could win. On the other hand if she got to close that could be game over. As both opponents walked out to the field Uraraka could finally see what Jason had armed himself with. He had his jet pack, what looked like a modified handgun, an escrima stick, a pouch full of what was assumed to be the explosive marbles, and a barrel that went down his arm. "You'll still want my help when I win right." Uraraka called. "If you win," Jason retorted. The match began and Uraraka quickly found out what the cannon on his hand did as a blast of compressed air shot out. The blast hurt and knocked her back a little but it didn't do much. Jason continued to fire shots using his pack to keep away from Uraraka. That is until he ran out of fuel. Uraraka charged forward, ignoring the air basts until they stopped coming. However instead of being tagged and thrown out like Uraraka's other opponents, Jason sidestepped the telegraphed move and delivered a hard left hook that sent Uraraka to the floor. Dropping his jet pack, Jason settled into a boxer stance, staying just outside of Uraraka's range and capitalizing whenever she over extended. Getting frustrated, Uraraka made a dive at Jason. Jason rolls out of the way leaving behind a few marbles and drawing his firearm. He unloaded a few rubber rounds into Uraraka, but even though they hurt they didn't do much. Jason changed the setting to a three round burst and kept firing. Finally he heard a small ding. His air cannon was recharged. He only had one shot though. Throwing caution to the wind he charged Uraraka, duck under her outstretched palm, sweeping her legs, and throwing a punch while firing an air blast. It wasn't enough to send her out of bounds like he hoped but luck was in his favor. While she was getting up she accidentally placed her hand on the floor outside of the ring. Jason breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to help Uraraka up. "You did really well out there. I almost had to use my secret weapon." Jason says. "I still lost." Uraraka said. "Maybe but I'm decked out with tons of weapons that I can use at range and you need to touch me. And even then it was super close. Don't feel too bad about it." Jason said. And that was that. Jason would be the one facing Todoroki.
