Rin stared leerily at the Demon Lord before him. He was unsure how to take what he'd just been asked to do. It sounded too good to be true. Yet, Rin knew there'd be definite drawbacks.

"There is little time to ponder, child," Sesshomaru snapped. "The last of your siblings will be making his move soon. And we all know damn well that Kagome would not be able to hold her own against Lucifer."

Closing his eyes, Rin felt the pressure from all sides. When Rin had been called to the Principle, Mephisto's, office, he had not expected to see the Demon Lord, Mephisto, his brother, and a slew of others there. They'd all come up with the same idea they'd just asked him to execute.

Yet, Rin felt one person was missing. The most important person in all this is Kagome. And he knew it'd come down to his decision in the end since he had come to understand her personality in the past few months.

Sighing, Rin ran his hand through his hair as he finally answered(albeit unwillingly), "Okay, fine. But are all of you sure this will work? I mean, Kagome has random, dumb luck."

The sight of everyone gathered sighing and nodding their heads in agreement simultaneously was comical. Or would it be under different circumstances?

"Child, I've watched her many reincarnations. This is the one area she had never had any skill in. And like you, she's very klutzy," Sesshomaru said, smirking openly to mock him.

Rin went stiff and glared at the Demon Lord before hissing, "I am not a klutz. It just seems to happen whenever I am in close proximity to your ward that I tend to bite the dust."

The mocking smirk on Sesshomaru's face grew deeper while everyone else seemed to be fighting the urge to laugh at his words. Not wanting to stay another moment, Rin turned and walked to the office door. As he reached for the doorknob, the door swung inwards and smacked him hard, sending him stumbling to the ground.

"Oh, no! I'm sorry, Rin!"

He glanced up, a hand covering his nose. Rin stared into Kagome's wide, shocked blue eyes. Giving a loud groan, Rin let his body fall prone to the floor. Everyone else finally gave in to the urge to laugh, leaving Kagome very confused as she fussed over him.
