I don't own Kingdom Hearts or Green Lantern. They belong to Disney, Square Enix, and DC comics. Alright the time has come to introduce the first world on this chapter, the Marvelous World. This chapter is based on heavily on the Wolverine and the X-Men universe but at the same time, this version of Spider-Man is based on the current PlayStation series that is currently working on a sequel sometime next year. What do you think of that combo?!
:D
Anyways before we begin let's reply to some reviews and then we can dive right in...
johnymike98: It's Peter Parker. Nothing against Miles. He will be showing up at some point but I'm sticking with the original Web-Head on this one.
twilightnite13: We'll in this fanfic, they do! Or at very least Gantlet does... anyways, it's my story and if I'm being honest I haven't really picked up on too many Green Lantern comics outside of TV shows and movies... Oh, and video games of course. So, do forgive me if Gantlet is a little off. I'll try to make him as true to the character as I can.
Monkey D. Conan: Just imagine how sweet his Green Lantern uniform will be! Interesting idea but you'll have to wait and see how and when he gets the ring. As for the Green Lantern ring that vanished... I think we both know it'll turn up again... on a finger you won't see coming. We do see our Wayfinder trio at some point. Just wait and see. Glad you're liking this so far.
edboy4926: Nope! No Nova in this story! He already has his helmet, he doesn't need a ring! Try think of someone who knows with Great Power...
Guest02957: Can't say anything. Spoilers. Hope you enjoy who I do plan for this world's Lantern.
Guest: I actually have something different planned for Kairi but it won't really show until near the end.
Guest: I actually never got into Power Rangers so I don't think he'll show up... at all. Sorry.
Guest: No Quasr. Don't know too much about the guy. You'll have to see which Marvel characters show up in the story and I hinted at them in the previous chapter but you'll see the ones who do show up in this.
And with that out of the way, here's the next chapter! Enjoy!
Chapter 4: Shades of Grey
Sora journeyed through space for coming close to an inhabited world. He smiled to himself, "Okay, this seems like a good place to start."
He then flew towards the planet ahead and entered its atmosphere. As he entered the city below, he couldn't help but admire the city he landed on top of. The Green Lantern saw all the people just wandering the streets below, "This is so unreal. I'm really on another world."
Now sure, he had been on worlds like Oa and the Land of Departure now, but neither of those worlds were really populated like this one was. He then shook his head, "No... gotta stay focused. Remember why I'm here."
"Let's see..." Sora then began listing the whole reason why he started his journey, "Find Riku and Kairi. If a Power Ring entered this world, find its Green Lantern or use one of the rings to find one. Find if Maleficent or the Heartless are involved here." He crossed his arms, "Okay, where to start?"
Suddenly, he heard explosions on the city streets just ahead. His eyes narrowed, "That seems like a good place to start."
He then started to fly over to where the action was...
Meanwhile, the terrorist organization known as Hydra was assaulting the city streets. It had not been long since their leader, Baron Strucker, had been taken in by the Avengers and S.H.E.I.L.D. Custody. The remaining free agents, decided to have a last stand by making New York City suffer for their fallen leader.
One of the Hydra soldiers declared, "Take as many of these weaklings as you can! Hail Hydra!"
"Hail Hydra!" The other soldiers exclaimed.
A heavy-powered Hydra-Bot fired a blast into a building debris started to fall on panicked civilians. Many would have died if not for the webbing that caught the debris before it could hit the ground.
The terrorists looked up to see the wall-crawler vigilante known as Spider-Man swinging their way. The Web-Head quipped, "Guys! Your boss is behind bars! He wouldn't notice if you guys took the day off! Honest!"
"It's one of those meddlesome heroes!" A Hydra glared, "Kill him!"
With that, they started shooting at Spider-Man but he was easily able to avoid the gunfire. The hero of New York thought to himself, "Well, at least they're not shooting at innocents anymore. Just me. Seriously. Where are the Avengers never around when you need them?"
Spider-Man fired a web at one of their guns before yanking it away and using it to smack the agent of Hydra in the head. He proceeded to kick down another terrorist before dodging more gunfire as he taunted, "Missed me~ missed me~ now you gotta- wait, never mind!"
As Hydra continued to shoot Spidey, a green beam removed one of the terrorist's weapons before several more did the same to the other agents. Spider-Man blinked under his mask before looking where the bad guy's weapons were, and he spotted a teenager dressed in green tossing the guns into the sun with his power, Spidey couldn't help but comment, "Huh? Never seen him before? Definitely a new guy."
Sora smiled to himself, "I always wanted to do this..." He then constructed a giant megaphone and spoke through it, "Attention, bad guys. I'm Sora Hakiri of the Green Lantern Corps."
"Did he just use his actual name?" Spider-Man face palmed himself, "Rookie mistake."
"You're all under arrest for attacking this city," The Green Lantern continued, "I suggest you surrender peacefully before someone gets..."
"Blast him out of the sky!" A Hydra agent ordered the Hydra-Bot. The machine aimed its cannon at the Green Lantern and fired.
Sora turned his megaphone into a shield to defend himself from the cannon fire. The islander muttered to himself, "Well, that was rude. They didn't let me finish. Alright then... if that's how they want to play!"
He then used his willpower to construct a giant cork and plugged it into the cannon causing the machine to backfire on itself and destroy itself from within. Peter Parker muttered under his mask, "Now there's something you only see in cartoons."
Sora flew down to the agents' level as the remaining Hydra agents as one of them ordered, "Get him!"
The Green Lantern then construct a giant hand and swat them aside, "Really? Get him? That was your plan? Did you not just see me take out your tank thingy?"
He shrugged before turning to Spider-Man, "Guess that's a wrap."
Just then, Spider-Man's spider-sense went off as he warned the Green Lantern, "Not quite."
From the destroyed, Hydra-Bot launched three robots into the air before landing in front of the two heroes as they unfolded themself to reveal themselves to be HYDRA Dreadnoughts and surrounded the two heroes. Sora blinked in shock, "Robots?"
"They're Dreadnoughts," Spider-Man warned the new hero, "Be careful! They're dangerous! They have Ironman's tech."
One of the terrorist machines activated the drill on its arm and tried to strike Sora with it. The Green Lantern constructed a shield to defend himself from the attack. He grunted as he held the drill back, "I can tell! They're not very friendly!"
From the shield, he constructed a fist to knock it back. The other two Dreadnoughts fired flames from their mouths causing the heroes to move of the way. Spider-Man waved his hand in front of his mask, "Whew! Someone needs a breath mint!"
He fried webs in the robots' faces, but that didn't stop the flames, not until he yanked the robots onto the ground causing them to burn themselves slightly. The Dreadnought Sora knocked down earlier, had recovered and turned its attention to the Lantern and fired missiles from its arm.
The missiles followed Sora until he created a shield that protected him from the two missiles as the others passed him and turned their way around to strike him from behind.
The Green Lantern smirked as he flew towards the Dreadnought that shot at him. He flew under its legs and before it could react, it was hit by its own missiles. Sora smirked at the destroyed machine that toppled over with a crash.
Spider-Man avoided the laser beams the Dreadnoughts shot from their eyes. While they were distracted with Spidey, Sora came in from behind and constructed a giant hammer, and crushed one of them with it. The remaining Dreadnought turned to Sora as he raised a hammer to smash the other one. The machine quickly raised its shield before it could impact.
In response, it used tried to use its flame thrower against the Green Lantern but it was unable to work as Spidey damaged its weapon. It fired its eye beams again as Sora dodged it with ease before constructing a sword. He charged at it with his new blade before slicing it in half.
Sora turned to Spider-Man as he landed beside him, "Is it over?"
"I think so," He admitted. Suddenly, the police sirens could be heard, "Cops are coming. We should go. Meet me by the rooftops."
Sora nodded as he followed the Web-Head to the rooftops...
Not long after, the NYPD came in S.H.E.I.L.D. came in and took the terrorists into custody. Spider-Man told the Lantern, "Not bad out there. Although, pro tip, I wouldn't tell the bad guys your actual name, not unless you want them coming after you for revenge at your own home."
"Uh... thanks for the tip," Sora blinked before smiling and offering his hand, "Hi, I'm Sora..."
"I know," Spider-Man shook his hand, "I kinda heard when you shouted out your name to the world."
After letting go, Sora wondered, "So, who are you?"
Spider-Man, thinking the Green Lantern was joking, chuckled, "Right. Like you don't know who I am?"
Sora blinked in confusion, and after a minute of silence, Spidey realized, "Oh my gosh... you're actually serious?! You don't know who I am?!"
"How could I?" The Islander pointed out, "We only just met."
"Well, yes," Spidey nodded, "But there's not a person on this world who doesn't know who Spider-Man is!"
"But I'm not from your world," Sora stated in confusion.
Spider-Man blinked under his mask as he commented to himself, "Okay... you're an alien... That would do it." He then asked, "Question, you don't have some kind of evil agenda, do you? Like eating people? Invasion? Anything like that?"
Sora winced in disgust, "Eat people? Ew! Why would anyone do that?!"
"Sorry," Peter apologized, "Just had to check."
Sora muttered to himself, "Riku never mentioned about eating anyone..."
"Okay, so you seem like a good, kid..." Spider-Man pointed out.
"I'm not a kid. I'm fifteen. Technically a teenager." The Green Lantern stated, "I'll turn 16 this May."
"Man, this guy was my age when I first became Spidey," Peter thought to himself before continuing, "Besides the point... then why did you come to my world?"
Sora sighed in as he rubbed the back of his head, "It's a bit of a long story..."
Spider-Man saw the look in his eyes, it was the same look that he had when he lost his Uncle Ben. Spider-Man nodded, "C'mon. You can tell me over pizza. I know a place..."
He then web swung away from the crime scene as Sora flew after him while Spidey asked, "You can eat Pizza where you're from right?"
Later in the afternoon, Sora and Spidey sat on the roof of a pizza restaurant called Eddie's Pizza. Only two slices remained as Sora finished his story, "...and that's when those armored guys started causing havoc."
As the Green Lantern took another slice of pizza, Spider-Man, whose mask was rolled back over his nose so he could eat, just stared at him as he proceed with his story, "Well... that's a crazy story... and this all happened when?"
"Let's see..." Sora thought for a moment, "What time is it?"
"12:30," Spidey answered.
"Three hours ago," The Green Lanterned added up before taking a bite out of his pizza.
"Seems about right," Spider-Man took the final slice for himself, "And sounds absolutely crazy enough to be true."
The islander turned to him, "You're surprisingly acknowledging this very well."
"Dude," The masked hero stated before taking a bite out of his pizza, "Something crazy always happens, and I somehow manage to get caught in the middle of it. This is like every Tuesday for me." After chewing and swallowing his piece, "Also, pro tip number 2, don't mention you're from another world because some people might get the wrong idea."
"Like thinking I'm going to eat someone?" Sora raised an eyebrow.
Spider-Man warned him, "There are some strange films and shows about aliens out there. On my world at least."
After taking another bite of his pizza, "Noted. Still... I have to find this world's new Lantern, my friends, and if Maleficent is already involved with your world."
"Sounds like you can use some backup," Spidey stated after taking another bite, "I'll do everything I can to help you."
Sora blinked in shock, "You mean, you'll help me?"
"Trust me, I know what you're going through," Spidey stated, "Okay, maybe not so much about losing your world and being chosen to be a space cop as cool as the latter sounds. But I know I freak out if my best friends went missing and if the Heartless are as a big of a threat as you say, it'll end up affecting my neighborhood as well..." After the two heroes finished their pizza, as Spidey pulled back down his mask and both got on their feet, "So, let's look around, and maybe we'll find a clue to where my world's Green Lantern is and maybe it'll lead you to find your friends or the bad guys."
Sora smiled in appreciation before his ring beeped, "Warning! Telepathically anomaly detected!"
"A what now?" Sora blinked in confusion.
Spider-Man's Spider-Sense also alerted him to the danger from a distance, he noticed several civilians get knocked out from absolutely nothing. He quickly warned the teenager, "Sheild us! Quickly!"
The Green Lantern tighter his fist creating a shield around the two heroes. While nothing seemed to hit it, it did seem to keep the two heroes conscious. Sora blinked to see all the people were out, "Woah! And Kairi calls me a lazy bum..." He turned to Spidey, "Is it safe?"
"Spider-Sense isn't detecting anything, so we should be good," Spidey answered getting a black stare from the Lantern as the experienced hero clarified, "I have a six-sense that warns me of danger."
"Cool..." Sora nodded as he eased his defenses as he looked down to the ground below, "What happened? Are they...?"
Spidey leaped down to the ground as Sora lowered himself down to ground leave, Spidey checked a pulse from one of the civilians before nodding, "Yeah, she's alright. Your ring mentioned a telepathic anomaly... someone with mental powers must have freaked out and put the city that never sleeps out cold."
"Mental powers?" Sora blinked in confusion.
Spider-Man stood back up as he explained, "The ability to read and even control anyone's mind. Your ring must have had some protection which is why we're still awake."
"Wow," Sora blinked in amazement, "So why would they put the entire city to sleep."
"Well, A... someone just learned about their powers and accidentally used it on everybody," Peter thought out loud, "Or B... it was meant to be a cry for help and it backfired."
The Green Lantern gasped, "So, someone could be in trouble. Like from Maleficent or the Heartless."
"Or an unknown third option," Spidey looked to the distance, "Either way, they need help."
"Alright," Sora smiled and nodded, "Let's go!"
"Kid, do you have any idea where to look?" Spidey wondered.
"Nope," Sora shook his head, "Not a clue."
"Okay, pro tip number 3, think of a plan before you act if you can," Peter told the new hero, before thinking, "Your ring warned us of the telepathic freak out before it hit. Could it trace it to its source?"
Sora shrugged before turning to his ring, "Hey, Ring? Could you find the source of the telepathic anomaly?"
"One moment," The ring blinked before like using to find Gantlet, it created a trail for them to follow.
Spider-Man then told Sora, "There! Follow the trail!"
The former then swung off to follow the path Sora's ring made as the latter flew by his side...
It didn't take long for the heroes to reach the source of the anomaly, a hospital in Upstate New York. Looking around, they saw quite a number of armored vehicles parked outside, along with a number of armored men lying unconscious near them. Spidey sighed as he realize what had happened, "The MRD. I should have guessed."
"Who are they?" The Green Lantern looked among the armored men, "Cops?"
"Not quite," Spider-Man knelt down turning to the new hero, "These guys were trained to capture mutants."
"Mutants?" Sora tilted his head.
"You and I. We got our powers from accidents or were chosen by advanced tech," Spider-Man explained, "Mutants were born with something called an X-gene. While their powers don't manifest until they're older, it wasn't really something they had a say in. However, not a lot of people understand that and hate and fear them because of their powers and some cases how they look."
"That's awful," Sora frowned.
"I know," Spider-Man fully heartily agreed, "Now while there are a hand full that do need to be locked up for misusing their gifts to commit crime..." Spider-Man gestured to the MRD, "... these guys, don't seem to care if they're innocent or guilty, they even arrest non-mutants for helping them."
Sora glared at them, before turning to him, "So why were they here?"
"My assumption..." Spidey stated, "Our telepath was injured and was brought here for help. One of the nurses or doctors panicked when they discovered they were a mutant. Called these guys. They came to take them in which lead to our telepath getting scared and lashing out."
Sora then put together what happened from there, "Knocking the city out cold."
"Yep," Spider-Man nodded, "Chances are, they're still in there. Probably needing real help."
Sora then took off from the ground with a smile, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's find our scared friend!"
The Green Lantern flew inside despite Spider-Man's protest, "Wait, wait, wait..."
Sora had already entered the hospital, where unconscious people of all kinds lay everywhere. The Green Lantern called out, "Hello! Is anyone with superpowers awake?!"
Sora flew up the stairs calling out, "Hello!"
Suddenly he heard a female voice speak to herself from a floor he nearly passed, "What am I going to do?"
The Green Lantern stopped before lowing himself to the source of the voice. He opened the door to that floor and looked around as saw a redhead woman curled up on the floor. From one again, Sora's eyes widened with hopefulness, "Kairi?"
He then went closer to her before finally getting a good look at her. She was much taller than Kairi, while she was beautiful, she wore a green, long sleeve top that seemed to drop down on her right shoulder, brown pants, and a gold chained necklace with a red pendant that had a golden X on it. But her most striking features were her shoulder-length scarlet hair that shimmered like fire, contrasting with her green eyes that were mesmerizing. She definitely wasn't Kairi.
Finally noticing the Green Lantern, she cried out in terror, "Get away from me!"
Sora raised his hands in a calming matter, "Hey, it's okay. I'm not with them. I'm here to help you."
The woman blinked in confusion, "You... are?"
Sora smiled and nodded, despite Spider-Man's pro tip number one of being hero, Sora stuck with how to be a friend instead. He introduced himself, "I'm Sora. What's your name?"
The woman then glanced down as she appeared to be concentrating. She then averted her eyes, as if she was embarrassed. "I… I don't know. I can't remember."
"Ah... I see..." Sora looked at her with compassion. He met Kairi under similar circumstances. He smiled, "But that's okay. 'Sometimes memories just need a little help getting out.'"
The amnesic woman stared at him for a half a minute, before stating, "I have no memories, but I'm pretty sure no one says that."
"Really?" Sora blinked in confusion, "I'm pretty sure I heard it somewhere before." He then shook it off, "Either way, it doesn't make it any less true."
He knelt to her, "I am really am here to help. Let's get you out of here, maybe we can find someone who knows you and you can put back your memories."
"You do that?" The woman stared at the young man. Sora smiled and nodded. She seemed to ease up, "Okay..."
Just then, they heard something crash through the window, they both turned to see a tall man with blue skin, with a red diamond gem-looking thing in the middle of his forehead, and no visible pupils in his white eyes. He wore a dark blue body suit with dark pink accents on the chest, arms and legs. But his most notable feature were a pair of large, silver, metallic wings on his back.
The woman wondered, "Is... is he with you?"
"Nope," Sora shook his head, he then stood in front of her in case this other guy was hostile. He then spoke to him, "Hey, I don't know who you are but could you tell me and state your business?"
The Dark Angel did not respond and approached them. Sora's eyes narrowed as he raised his ring arm, "Okay, stop where you are. I don't want to have to hurt you."
In response, the Dark Angel raised one of his wings and flick it in his direction. As a result, dozens of metallic feathers launched from the feathers like knives toward him.
Reacting quickly, Sora quickly created a shield to protect himself and the woman from the attack. The Lantern's eyes narrowed, "Man, bad guys are just so rude today."
He then constructed a Keyblade, while the woman was shocked that all of this was happening, as Sora told the assailant, "Okay... you asked for this."
He charged at the Angel of Death flying while his enemy did the same and their two clashed with one another. Sora's constructed Keyblade clashed with the metal wings. The enemy pushed him back and tried slashing his wings at him while Sora blocked every attack before spotting and opening. With his other hand created a green construct of a fist and threw it at the foe.
The hit pushed the Dark Angel back as Sora's Keyblade construct made several more hits before he charged it into a giant hammer and slammed it into him knocking him through the ceiling into making him land on the floor above.
Both Sora and the mutant woman awaited to see if he was down for the count. Not long after, more feather-like knives came down. Sora once again raised a shield to defend himself and the red-headed woman. The Dark Angel continued his assault on Sora's shield as he flew back to the floor he was on.
All of a sudden, Spider-Man burst throw the star doors and kicked the villain away from the two. Spidey quipped, "I can't leave you alone for five minutes without running into trouble."
Sora childishly pointed at the villain, "He started it!"
"It's true," The woman nodded as Spidey turned to her in shock for a moment.
"Is that...?" However, those thoughts were pushed aside as the villain began to recover until Sora used his ring to construct a giant and slammed him into the wall, stunning the unknown assailant. Spidey quipped, "That's one way of saying, 'talk to the hand.'"
With his opponent temporarily down, Green Lantern turned to Spider-Man, "Who was that?"
"Not sure," Spidey admitted before proceeding to web the villain up, "But if she's who I think she is, we should probably get her to safety, before the MRD and the creepy angel stalker recover."
Sora nodded in agreement before turning to the woman, "Ready to get out of here?"
After a moment of silence, she nodded, "Yes."
The Green Lantern nodded as he used his ring to lift her and himself off the ground and back to the ground floor as Spider-Man followed. At the same time, the gem on the villain's forehead began to glow stirring him back to consciousness. With that, he proceeded to cut the webs that held him...
Once on the ground floor, Sora took the lead since his ring could protect anything that was thrown their way. Just as he exited the hospital, a red beam was fired at him as he created a shield to defend himself. Before Sora could retaliate, Spider-Man stopped him, "Wait! I know that beam!"
Sora blinked in shock as Spider-Man called out, "Hey, we're all friends here!"
The man who attacked Lantern was dressed in a long dark trench coat, wearing a balaclava that covered the top of his head, sides of his face and neck, but leaving his face exposed and wearing a silver metal mask, with a thin red lens.
The one with him was a Stunning woman with platinum blonde hair, a woman with fair skin, pale blonde hair, and blue eyes complete with purple eyeshadow on the lids. She also possesses a curvaceous figure and long shapely legs. She wore a tank top that left little to the imagination, with long gloves that cover her entire arms. She also wore a cape and white jeans held by a belt and wears white heels.
The former paused at that, "That voice... Spider-Man?!"
Spider-Man peeked his head from behind Green Lantern, "Hey, Cyclops. It's been a while!"
"It has. All things considered, it's good to see you," He quickly stood down, "Sorry, I didn't realize the kid was with you."
"I'm not a kid," Sora groaned in annoyance as the two heroes walked towards them, "I'm a Green Lantern for goodness shake."
The woman wondered, "How were you two spared from the mental blast?"
Spider-Man gestured to Sora, "Green Lantern's ring apparently has countermeasures against physic attacks so he was put a shield up to protect us just before the blast could hit us."
Sora smiled as he placed his hands behind his back, as the woman turned to the boy's power ring, "Impressive..."
Sora waved to them, "I'm Sora by the way."
"Scott Summers," Cyclops nodded, "Spider-Man. Sora. This is Emma Frost."
Emma nodded to them, "Charmed." She couldn't help but wonder, "What brings the two of you here?"
"Same as you two I presume," Spider-Man stated, "Sora, who doesn't get the whole concept of a secret identity, by the way, managed to track the source of the mental blast over here. I can't believe who was responsible for it though."
The amnesic woman peeked out of the hospital as all the respected heroes turned to her. His eyes widened behind his visor as his body froze from a brief moment as he saw her, "Jean?"
He slowly approached her as he passed the two non-mutant heroes, to run up to her, "What do you know? We found a friend who knows her..."
Both Spidey and Emma both turned to the Green Lantern in confusion as the latter, "What do you mean by that?"
Before Sora could explain, Scott rushed forward to her forward, arms open, prepared to embrace her after all this time, "It's really you!"
She then hid herself back in the hospital, much to Scott's confusion, "Jean... It's okay, I'm here. You don't have to be afraid."
In response, Jean poked her head out a little more, still hesitant towards him but hearing his voice seemed to calm to her and familiar.
"You know who I am?" She asked him, her voice still shaky.
"What?" The One-Eyed Mutant seemed visibly shaken by her question.
"You don't remember Scott?" Spider-Man blinked in shock under his mask, "What about me? Spider-Man?"
That's when Sora spoke up on her behalf, "Listen... when I found her, she didn't remember who she is."
Emma nodded in understanding as she turned to Cyclops, "That certainly solved this puzzle. She never contacted you because she doesn't remember you."
Finally understanding, Cyclops calmed down and slowly approached Jean. He slowly approached her but this time she didn't try to hide. Reaching out, Cyclops took Jean's hand in his and gently cupped the hand in both of his, as if he were holding a baby bird, "Jean, it's me, Scott. Look, I know you're confused, but I need you to come with me."
The more he talked, the more Jean seemed to relax around him. While she couldn't remember him, she seemed to feel safe and comforted in his presence, "Where?"
"Home. I'm taking you home, okay?" He told her, with a warm smile.
In response, her expression softened, and a small smile started to appear on her lips. The promise of home certainly resonated with her in a very strong way.
"Okay." She whispered softly.
Just then, Spider-Man's Spider-Sense went off, "Uh-oh! I think the guy who's also after our friend is back!"
Hearing Spider-Man's warning, Both Green Lantern and Cyclops stood in front of Jean as the Dark Angel man, walk around the corner. His blank eyes glared at them as he raised his metallic wings and threw the feather-like knives at them. Sora quickly created a shield to protect his new friends. Cyclops reached his visors, as he asked, "Can you give me an opening?"
Sora nodded making a small opening, without hesitation, Cyclops took the shot and unleashed a powerful red beam of energy from his eyes. The beam struck the Angel of Death, square in the chest, sending him rocketing down the hall, blasting through the wall to the other side of the building.
Sora put down the shield as he turned to Cyclops, "Let's get her out of here."
He nodded as he escorted Jean to the van, he and Emma arrived on. Sora followed closely, as Cyclops glanced over to Emma Frost.
"You can help her, right?" He asked the blonde woman.
"I'll do my best." She assured him.
Spider-Man raised a hand, "Uh, listen I worked with the X-Men before, so I'm not quite sure how she can..."
Cyclops quickly explained, "She's a telepath."
"That will do it," Spidey nodded before his eyes narrowed, "Now, where's Vulture's distant cousin."
Jean's eyes widened in horror as Spider-Man's Spider-Sense went off, "There!"
The Dark Angel had returned and was divebombing the group, his metallic wings beating as he sliced through the air toward them. With a flick of his wings, metal feathers rained down on them.
Cyclops immediately moved to shield Jean, while Emma and Sora stood in front of them. Emma turned to skin into diamond to defend her fellow X-Men while Sora constructed a shield to protect himself and Spider-Man. The metal feathers bounced off the diamond skin and the green will-powered shield.
As Angel flew over them, Cyclops got to his feet and fired a beam from his visor at the Winged Assassin. His beam, sliced through the side of a nearby building as he tried to hit the flying villain.
Just then, Spider-Man grabbed the Mutants hand and stopped his attack, "Hold your fire! They're people still in these buildings and in this state, they can't move out of the way."
Sora's eyes narrowed at the villain, "Guess we're going to need to get close and personal then."
He then constructed a round shield in one hand and a sword in the other before flying toward the Dark Angel. The assailant's eyes narrowed as he launched more metal feathers at the Lantern.
Sora raised his shield to defend himself and once he was in close range, his green blade clashed against the Archangel's wings. As Jean and the other heroes watched the man with the metal wings and the new Green Lantern fought each other, Emma turned back to her normal form and held her hands to her head, placing the index and middle fingers on either side of her temples and closed her eyes as if trying to focus.
After a brief moment, the blonde telepath grunted in frustration while lowering her hands.
"His mind is shielded. I can't pierce it." She stated, after trying to shut down his mind with telepathy.
"Okay, looks like we're sticking with plan B," Spider-Man realized, "Stopping him the old fashion way."
"Let's get Jean to the mansion first," Cyclops spoke up, "Then we can deal with Angel."
"Angel?" Spidey blinked in shock, "That's Angel?" Scott frowned but confirmed with a nod, as Spider-Man exclaimed, "What the heck happened to him and why is he attacking us?!"
"We'll explain on the way," Scott promised, "But we need to go now!"
Spider-Man nodded as he called out to Sora, "Lantern! We're moving!"
As Sora paired Archangel's wings and transformed his sword into a hammer and smacked him into the air. He turned back to the heroes of this world, "Go! I'll catch up!"
Spider-Man nodded and helped Scott get Jean to the back of the X-Men as Emma stepped over an MRD soldier. As she get into the driver's seat and fastened her seatbelt, the Wall-Crawler asked, "Anything we can do for them?"
"They'll be fine," Emma answered coldly, "I suggest we not be here before they regain consciousness."
Knowing she was referring to the MRD, he nodded, "Fair enough!"
With that, she floored it. Seeing his target was trying to get away, Angel flew past Sora to go after them. The Lantern's eyes narrowed, "Hey! We're not done yet!"
With that, he flew after the villain. As Angel pursued the X-Van, Sora pursued him. The Green Lantern formed a giant hand and attempted the grab him.
Angel just glanced at Sora's attempt and easily avoided it before throwing several metal feathers at him. In defense, the spiky-haired Lantern quickly constructed a target board to it blocked the incoming projectiles.
After the assault ended, he looked ahead to see Angel continue flying after his target. The islander's eyes narrowed as he chased after the villain.
As he gained on the villain, an idea formed in his head. He knew exactly what to do with flying pests. He then constructed a giant fly swatter, before flying up to Angel. Once he was close enough to a building, he swatted the villain into the building.
As the construct vanished, Angel fell to the ground with a thud. Sora pumped a victory fist, "Yes!"
He then flew back to the X-Van and knocked on the passenger window. Emma turned to see it was Sora and she rolled down the window letting the Green Lantern inside. Entering threw the window, he took a seat next to the driver's seat and fastened his seat belt as the blonde asked him, "Is he down?"
"Yeah," Sora confirmed, "He's down for the count."
Cyclops turned to Spider-Man, "Where did you find this kid?"
"It's been a crazy afternoon," Spider-Man rubbed the back of his mask, "The kid's a space cop from another world."
Scott stared at him in disbelief, "You're joking?"
"Could not make it up even if I wanted to," The Web-Head sighed.
That's when Jean spoke up, "Who is he?"
Sora leaned back in his seat, also curious about the answer.
"Someone you used to know," Cyclops admitted, his tone grim as if reliving a bad memory. "He was a good friend to both of us and Spider-Man."
"Yeah," Spider-Man thought of the fond memories, "I remember when the X-Men were just you guys, Beast, and Iceman. Crazy how time flies."
"Wait," Sora spoke up slightly confused, "He was your friend?"
Jean was also confused by this fact, "What happened to him?"
Sinister." Cyclops answered with venom in his voice.
Sora blinked in confusion, "What?"
"That's the name of the man who changed him. Now he's after you." Cyclops stated looking at Jean.
The Red Head gasped in fear while the Green Lantern just raised an eyebrow confused as that explanation revealed nothing about who this guy is. However, Spider-Man knew exactly who he was talking about, "I thought that gem on Angel's forehead looked familiar. He's been after Jean's genetics for years."
He then turned to Sora, "Sinister's a mutant scientist who collects genetic samples of other mutants, usually by force."
Sora tilted his head, "Why?"
"Supposedly to create the ultimate mutant," Emma answered.
"And years ago he was intent on using Jean in his experiments," Scott added before reassuring the redhead, "But we stopped him. I won't let him get you."
This seemed to calm her down a little, Sora thought back to the islands. The way Scott treated Jean, it almost reminded him of his time with Kairi. Unaware to Sora, Emma took advantage of this state. She wanted to make sure this boy was truly from another world...
Inside the boy's mind, Emma stood the beaches of an island with star-shaped fruit. Digging into this boy's thoughts, she learned it was called a paopu fruit.
"If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They become a part of each other's lives no matter what." The youthful sound of another teenage boy echoed. Riku was the name she found out where it originated.
Still, the legend of the paopu seemed like something Pryde would eat up and enjoy. Metaphorically, of course. She then saw a much younger Sora sitting on the docks with a red-headed girl around his age. Kairi.
"What are the odds?" She thought to herself.
"You know, Riku's changed." The memory of Kairi spoke up.
Sora turned to her in confusion, "What do you mean?"
"Well..." Kairi hesitated to answer.
Sora became concerned for her, "You okay?"
Kairi smirked, "Sora! Let's take the raft and go! Just the two of us!"
Sora's eyes widened as he started blushing hard, "WHAT?!"
Kairi giggled, "Just kidding!"
Sora calmed down little a little though the blush was still there. He chuckled, "What's got into you? You're the one who's changed, Kairi."
"Maybe..." The girl responded softly. "You know, I was a little afraid at first, but now I'm ready. No matter where I go or what I see, I know I could always come back here."
Finally, Kairi took her eyes off the sunset and turned to Sora. "Right?"
"Yeah, of course!" Sora said without hesitation. Wherever they would go, this would still be their home. Kairi turned back to the sunset.
"That's good." Kairi paused before adding, "Sora, don't ever change."
"Huh?" Sora tilted his head in confusion as Kairi began to stand up.
"I just can't wait. Once we set sail." Kairi smiled as she gazed into the sun, "It'll be great."
The memory changed as Riku receive something called the Keyblade which was later founded by the three wise Keyblade Masters. The memory changed again as Sora worried he had little to offer Kairi, that was when she saw the memory of Sora receiving the ring, "Sora Hikari of the Destiny Islands. You Have the Ability to Overcome Great Fear. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps."
Emma watched as the ring slid on his finger and his life forever changed. She saw the memory of the ring's previous owner, Hal Jordan, who seemed to have the charm of one Tony Stark, and the mission he gave to Sora.
Her eyes widened as she witnessed the end of his world. Felt the hope his friends were still out there. Meeting Gantlet the last Guardian of Oa. Reviving the Central Battery Core. Recharging the rings, which leads memory back to the present. In order to stop this Maleficent, to save his friends and this universe, he must find the other Green Lanterns. Revive the Green Lantern Corps. Perhaps this boy could be the one that can..."
"Miss Frost? Emma?" Sora called out her back to reality, unaware that she was in his mind, "Are you alright? You seem distracted?"
Emma glanced at the boy, before noticing something in the sky in the rear-view mirror. of the van. Easily recognizing the figure, the telepath in white stated, "Here he comes."
Sora's eyes widened and looked behind them, and saw Angel flying after them from behind. He complained, "Oh, come on! What does it take to stop this guy?!"
Emma swerved the Van off the nearest exit, the road then climbed up to an overpass bridge for the freeway. Sora kept his eye out for the Dark Angel as he watched the flying mutant dive down under the overpass and out of sight.
Sora unbuckled himself and joined the others in the back. He turned to Scott and Jean, "I'll stop him but if he's your friend I won't try to take him down too hard."
Scott nodded in apperception as did Jean despite having no memory of Angel. The Green Lantern was about to open the back of the Van, when Spider-Man stopped him, "I'm going too. Angel's not the only winged opponent I've faced and he's my friend too. If we can reach him, we have to try."
Sora smiled and agreed full-heartedly, "Right!"
All of a sudden, they heard Emma gasp in horror. All the heroes turned to see the road was gone. As in broken away due to the overpass collapsing from Archangel destroying one of the support columns.
Emma slammed on the breaks causing everyone to jerk forward. But, the vehicle couldn't slow down fast enough as it skidded over the edge and plummeted to the street below.
Spider-Man turned to Sora as they fell, "Kid! Do something!"
Sora aimed his ring and created a construct of a giant mattress on the road beneath them to ease the fall. Even then though, the landing was a little rough for those who weren't wearing their seat belts. Everyone groaned as they recovered from the crash, but they were grateful to the Lantern as it probably would have been worse if he hadn't been there.
Outside Archangel flew down to the van, ready to collect his prey. Only for the car door to get blasted off its hinges and sail past him.
The Dark Angel glared down at the vehicle and saw Cyclops, Spider-Man, and Green Lantern all emerge from the van. Archangel prepared to attack, but Cyclops was quick to the draw and blasted him in the chest with his optic beams, sending him flying.
Cyclops then turned to Sora, acting like he was the leader of the X-Men once again, "Get that Van back up!"
Sora nodded as he called out inside, "Everyone! Hold on in there!"
He then created a construct of a giant hand. He used it to grab the van and placed it back on its wheels. Cyclops turned to Spider-Man, "You're cell phone number still the same?"
"Yeah," Spider-Man nodded.
"We'll remain in contact that way," The X-Man stated before gesturing to the Green Lantern, "Take Sora and hold him off while Emma and I get Jean home, met us there."
"Got it," Spidey nodded as the heroes prepared to face off against the former X-Man.
Cyclops quickly ran to the van and jumped inside.
"Go! Go!" He cried as Emma floored the accelerator.
As the Van drove off, Archangel recovered from Cyclops's attack and tried flying past Sora and Spidey only for the latter to launch a web that caught onto his leg. The former hero briefly turned to Spider-Man as he called out, "Warren! I know it's been a while, but I know you know me! Spider-Man! I'm just as much as hated by the public as mutants?! We've had several team-ups?! Ring any bells?!"
Warren simply raised a wing and sliced off the webbing. He tried to continue the chase when a giant green wall blocked his path. He looked up to see the Green Lantern had flown ahead of him and created a wall between him and his prey, "Listen. You used to be called Warren, right? Sinister did something to you to mess with your head. You're a little confused, but that's okay. I know somewhere in your heart there's somewhere Sinister can't hold you. Use it to fight back! C'mon! He's making fight your friends for Pete's shake!"
For a brief moment, Archangel repeated, "My... friends..."
However, the jewel on his forehead began to glow again and his eyes narrowed as he flew over the wall and threw metal knives at Sora. Sora quickly went on the defensive and created a bubble to defect the attack. All the while, Spider-Man ran up the wall Sora had created, once he was close enough he leaped up and grabbed onto Archangel and started hitting, "Snap out of it, Angel! Fight Sinister! Not us!"
Warren struggled as Spider-Man tried to hold back, but the sky was his element. Even as the Web-Head wrapped up Archangel in his webs, the latter broke free and threw Spider-Man off of him.
Acting quickly, the web-slinger webbed himself a parachute which slowed his descent until Archangel flew at it and sliced it. Spider-Man began falling once again only to be caught by a giant green baseball glove construct created by the Destiny Islands' Green Lantern. As they saw the fallen X-Man chase after his friends once again, Sora carried Spider-Man as he flew after him. Sora's eyes narrowed with determination, "There's gotta be a way where we can reach him."
"I'm open to any suggestions, new guy," Spider-Man admitted, "But I'm afraid the only way to help him might be to knock some sense into him."
"Either way, we're gaining on him," Green Lantern stated, "There's no way he can deal with us and chase after them at the same time."
As Angel continued his pursuit, he glanced to see Spider-Man and Green Lantern getting closer, knowing it would make it all the more difficult to achieve his prime objective. Suddenly, he heard a voice inside his head, "Not to worry, my Archangel. Backup is on the way to deal with these meddlesome heroes."
Just at that moment, six-winged creatures with yellow eyes and heart-shaped symbols on their chest appeared beside Archangel. Sora's eyes narrowed at the creatures, while they looked different from the ones that attacked the island, he was certain of what they were, "Heartless!"
"The creatures that attacked your world?!" Spider-Man recalled Sora's tale, "They're working with Sinister?!"
Without even calling out orders the Heartless spread out and went in several different directions while Angel remained in pursuit. Sora wondered, "Where are they going?!"
Spider-Man's eyes widened his mask, "Uh-no! I think he ordered them to attack the unconscious civilians!"
Sora's eyes widened in horror, "Why would he do that?"
"To keep us distracted," Spider-Man answered, "But we have no choice! If we don't act they'll end up like the people from your islands."
The Green Lantern paused for a second, "You're right. What's the plan?"
"Split up," Spider-Man told the Lantern, "You take the three on the left, I'll take the ones on the right. Then we get back to the others as soon as we're able!"
Spider-Man launched a web going after the three Heartless while Sora went after the remaining three, "Good luck!"
As Spider-Man chased after the Heartless, he speed-dialed Cyclops, who quickly picked up, "What's the situation, Spidey?!"
"Angel called in backup and they're targeting innocents," Spider-Man answered as he web-zip to catch up to one, "Lantern and I had to back off to stop them, but Angel's coming right for you!"
"No worries," Cyclops understood the situation, "I can keep Jean safe for a while. You two take care of them and get back to us as soon as you can."
"See you soon!" Spider-Man nodded as he hung up, "Right, stopping monsters that consume worlds... this is a little above my pay grade but since Lantern and I are the only ones active at the moment, guess we have to do."
Spider-Man soon got close enough to one as it was about to attack a downed civilian. He kicked it away causing it to vanish, "Sorry! Hearts are off the menu! Can I interest you with a salad instead? It has a nice kick in it!"
He then proceeded to go after the other two...
Meanwhile, with Green Lantern, he had just blasted one with his ring as he chased after the remaining two. He flew at quick speeds to try to reach the remaining Heartless. He failed his home, he won't fail this world and the new friends he just met.
He fired more blasts from his ring but he missed. He whispered to himself, "Gotta be careful. People can't move if I miss."
He then constructed a green Keyblade, before gaining on one and cutting it in two as it vanished before casing after the last one...
Back with Spider-Man, he managed to web one to a building as it struggled to get free. He managed to avoid a swipe from another one, before firing a web at a trash can and throwing it at the Heartless. When it impacted, it sent it flying, crashing to a wall and causing it to be destroyed.
All of a sudden, the Heartless he subdued broke free and went after him. However, his Spider-Sense warned him of the danger, so he turned to face it and threw a punch in its face before it could strike.
As the last Heartless had been defeated, Spider-Man smirked to himself, "Next time, stick with pizza."
Spider-Man then swung off hoping to catch up to the X-Men, "I just hope I can get there in time!"
Meanwhile, Sora was chasing after the final Heartless. He flew above and below many bridges trying to reach it. It was about to go after a poor unsuspecting child, when Sora created a construct of a tennis racket before smacking it away from the child. It caught itself might flight only be cut down by a construct of a Keyblade.
Sora smirked as he rested the duplicate of his friend's weapon on his shoulders. After making the construct vanish, he turned back to where he last saw the X-Men and Sinister's agent, "And now for Angel..."
He then flew back to the chase, hoping Spider-Man wrapped up his own chase. By the time, he had caught up to the X-Van, his eyes widened as he realized it was too late. The X-Van was damaged beyond repair, Angel was gone along with Jean and Scott.
Spider-Man then swung to his side as he groaned, "We're too late!"
"Where did he take them?" The Green Lantern wondered.
"Sinister's hideout," Spider-Man answered, "Which likely could be anywhere at this point. If only I snuck a spider-tracer on Angel when I had the chance."
Sora's eyes narrowed with determination, "We can still find them. We can still save them."
"How?" Spider-Man turned to the Lantern, "There long gone."
"There must be another way," Sora thought to himself. All of a sudden, the heard a moan coming from the destroyed Van. Sora and Spidey's eyes widened as they realized they had forgotten someone, "Emma!"
Spider-Man leap over to the side door and tore it off. He then helped the blonde telepath out. As she regained consciousness, as moaned a, "Thanks..." Her eyes widened in horror, "Scott!"
"Gone along with Jean," Spidey frowned under his mask, "Angel took them back to Sinister."
Sora asked the telepath, "Is there any way we can find them?"
Emma thought for a moment before stating, "I might be able to. Through Cerebro."
The Green Lantern blinked in confusion, while Spider-Man smacked his forehead, "Cerebro! Of course! That's how you found Jean the first time!"
She turned to Spider-Man, "You know about Cerebro?"
"Yeah, the X-Men and I go way back," Spider-Man answered.
Sora raised his hand, "Quick question, what's Cerebro?"
The Web-Head placed a hand on Sora's back, "A mutant tracking machine."
"Oooooooh!" The Green Lantern finally understood, "We can use it to find Scott and Jean."
"We'll need to get to the mansion fast," Emma stated, "Every moment counts." She then turned to Lantern's ring, "Can that thing carry all three of us in a timely manner?"
Sora simply smirked in response...
From there, Emma relayed telepathic instructions to Sora about where he needed to take them. Carrying all of three them in a Green Bubble to the Xavier School for the Gifted. He lowered them by the front door, before dismissing the bubble, "So, is this the place?"
As Emma went to open the front door, Spider-Man nodded, "Yeah, you did good, kid."
Sora sighed in annoyance, "Please stop calling me that. I'm not that young."
As the three entered the mansion, they spotted a blue devil-looking mutant known as Nightcrawler passed out on the steps, upside down.
"Okay, I know you said everyone will get better eventually," Spider-Man turned to Emma, "But is there any way we can pick up the pace for your team?"
Emma nodded as she knelt down and placed her hand on his forehead. A few beats passed and Nightcrawler groaned as he awoke from his slumber, "Mien Gott... what happened?"
He then blinked in shock as he saw who was beside his fellow X-Man, "Spider-Man? What are you doing here?" He also noticed the Green Lantern, "And who's your young friend?"
"No time to explain," Emma spoke up, "Scott and I found Jean but so did Angel. Even with Spider-Man's and Green Lantern's help, he still took them. We need your help finding anyone here."
Nightcrawler blinked in shock at this new information before nodding in determination, "Alright then. Let's move."
The moment he heard that they found Jean, the teleporter leaped into action, vanishing in a puff of smoke as he searched the mansion for any of the X-Men within the walls for Emma to awaken.
He soon teleported back, and grabbed the wrists of Emma and Sora while Spider-Man placed a hand on his shoulder and teleported them all over the school. Sora was quickly introduced to the ones they managed to find. Logan or better known as Wolverine and Forge.
They soon reached Cerebro, and Kurt left the three of them there and went to look around for anyone else who was home. Sora eyes widened in awe as he saw Cerebro, "Woah!"
Spider-Man lightly chuckled, "Yeah, that was my reaction seeing Cerebro for the first time."
Soon enough, they were joined by Logan and Forge. The latter was still in disbelief, "I can't believe it. All this time, Jean was just a two-hour drive away."
"Frost, you think you can find her if she's not using her powers?" The Savage Mutant asked in a deadly serious tone.
"It's Scott I'm looking for. I'll know him immediately." Emma stated as she put on the helmet in order to amplify her psychic powers with Cerebro. She then whispered softly, "Come on, Scott. Where are you?"
Wolverine turned to Spider-Man, "I hate to ask ya, kid..." That made Sora chuckle, for once he wasn't called a kid, "But we're a little low on manpower..."
"You don't even need to ask, Logan," Spider-Man nodded, "You guys are my friends too. I'll help you rescue Scott and Jean and stop Sinister. Besides, I vowed never to look the other way again."
Wolverine nodded before turning to the Lantern, "And what about the actual kid in the room..."
"Hey!" Sora complained.
"...can he hold up in a fight?" The current leader of the X-Men finished asking.
"He's new," Spider-Man admitted, "But he can hold his own out there. I've seen in go toe to toe with Hydra, Angel, and monsters who have a taste for peoples' hearts. We would be foolish not to bring him along."
"Good enough for me," Wolverine nodded.
Forge then turned to the Lantern, "So is it true you and that ring are from another world?" Sora nodded making Forge ask, "I can't by any chance take a look at your ring and see how it works?"
Sora stared at him blankly, "...what?"
Emma then removed Cerebro, "I found Scott, but we don't have much time! We need to move! Now!"
Meanwhile, Scott stirred from unconsciousness as he found himself strapped to a lab table. He turned to see Jean was in on the lab table next to him still unconscious. He gasped in horror as he struggled to get free, "Jean? Jean!"
Just then, Sinister walked up beside him with Archangel by his side. He had a wicked grin on his face as he gloated, " I have to admit, like everyone else, I did believe Jean had perished. And then you came to me, so convinced she was still alive that I just had to resume my search."
With a snap of his fingers, mechanical tentacles with needles on the ends of them, and went into the side of each of the captive X-Men's next as the machine extracted their DNA. Even as Cyclops demanded, "Sinister, let us go now! Don't touch her!"
"Not to worry. Acquiring genetic material is usually painless," The villain continued smirking as he picked up the two vials containing their blood. He laughed maniacally, "As donors, you're really quite remarkable. Even Charles Xavier didn't know what he had with the two of you."
"Oh, yes," He continued as he held the samples triumphantly, "He was aware of your abilities, but not your genetics. Combined, they will create a force more powerful than anything this world has ever seen. The secret of mutant evolution. The very future of our kind."
"You're insane," Cyclops glared at the mad scientist, "We'll stop you!"
"I don't doubt you'll try," Mr. Sinister admitted before glancing at the unconscious woman, "The problem is, she might succeed. Therefore, I'm left with no choice."
As he turned to leave, he glanced at his enforcers, the Marauders, who consisted of Vertigo, Arclight, Blockbuster, Multiple Man, and finally Archangel himself, he ordered, "Dispose of them both."
The former X-Men slowly approached the two mutants with his wings raised ready to finish them off even as Scott called out to whatever humanity was left in their executioner, "Warren! Warren, don't!"
However, before he could carry out Sinister's orders, the ceiling above them shook. Even Sinister froze in shock as he turned to the ceiling, "What the devil?!"
Suddenly, the roof above them crack and a giant green drill broke through. The construct vanished as Sora flew down and aimed his ring at Sinister and his minions, "Let our friends go and surrender!"
A sudden puff of smoke and Nightcrawler teleported in with Spider-Man and the other X-Men. Wolverine snarled in anger, as he unsheathed his adamantium claws, "You heard the kid, Bub!"
"Let's make this easy on everyone," Nightcrawler said in a warning tone.
"Because we are not leaving without them." Emma Frost added, threateningly.
Spider-Man also added, "And if you think you can get away from your crimes, you've got another thing coming."
"Ah, Xavier's prized pupils," Sinister calmed himself, "I should have known you would have come for your friends, although Spider-Man and the Power Ring are some unexpected backup."
"It's Green Lantern," Sora corrected the villain.
"Whatever," Sinister rolled his eyes, before smirking once again, "Fortunately, I have backup of my own."
He snapped his fingers and along with the Marauders, the Heartless surrounded them. Sora glared at him, "So, you are using Heartless?!"
Sinister smirked remained as he ordered his minions, "Kill them."
Both Heartless and Marauders charged at the heroes. Before the heroes could even take one step forward before they suddenly felt a wave of nausea wash over them. Their legs turned to jelly as they all dropped to their knees. Sora even dropped to the ground, "What's happening..."
Vertigo had been using her powers against the team of heroes, however, Spider-Man wasn't giving up so easily, "No... worries guys. Between my Spider-Sense... and fighting Mysterio every other Thursday... This is another day in the office for me."
He then fired a web at Vertigo, and despite her power, his aim was still true. The webs blinded her allowing the heroes to recover. Arclight quickly moved in hopes to finish them off before they could recover but his strike was stopped by a shield constructed by Sora. Their powers clashed as the Marauder and Lantern struggled to get the upper hand. However, of the two, Sora's willpower was stronger. A green fist came from the shield punching the villain back.
The Heartless went in to assist Arclight but Sora moved out of the way before blasting one with his ring. He called out, "Listen! These monsters lack a heart! They're not truly alive. Don't bother capturing them."
Wolverine grinned as he raised his claws, "You heard the kid! Take them out hard!"
The savage mutant sliced through many Heartless with his claws, instantly destroying them. Forge aimed his weapon at the monsters but it was still charging up. He muttered in annoyance, "Come on! Come on!"
Before the Heartless could jump him, Nightcrawler grabbed him before vanishing him away to safety just as they struck. They then reappeared behind the Heartless as Forge fired his weapon destroying the Heartless. Blockbuster approached Spider-Man with a grin on his face, "Spider-Man, huh? I always wanted to have a crack at ya!"
"Blockbuster?" Spider-Man smirked behind his mask with his arms crossed, "I'm going take a wild guess you like Rhino... Strong but dumb."
The huge villain growled at that as he threw the first punch. Spider-Man easily jumped over him and kicked him from behind. Sora sliced down a bunch of Heartless with a construct of the Keyblade, he then turned to face Multiple Man. The villain smirked as he raised his fist and smacked it in his palm creating twenty duplicates. This didn't intimidate him though, he simply smirked as he faked panic, "Oh gee... a guy who can copy himself! I am so outnumbered! Whatever will I do!" He pretended to think before snapping his fingers, "Oh wait!"
He raised his rings a giant bowling ball causing the Multiple Men's eyes to widen in horror as one stated, "Oh crap!"
The construction of the giant bowling ball hit the all sending them flying everywhere and when they crashed landed, they fell unconscious. The Green Lantern pumped a fist, "Strike! Let's see Riku top that!"
As Archangel prepared to rejoin the fight, Scott demanded, "Someone cut me loose!"
Seeing Scott, he turned his ring on him, "Hold on, Cyclops! I got you!"
Worried he might blast him, Scott tried to stop Sora from firing, "No, Sora! Wait!"
Sora fired a green beam from his ring, striking the restraint on Cyclops's left arm perfectly and destroying it.
Breathing a sigh of relief that Green Lantern didn't accidentally blow his arm off. Cyclops raised his hand to his visor and targeted Archangel.
The Winged Mutant was locked in combat with Wolverine. Both having received cuts from each other, with Wolverines having already healed, save for the ones that still had Archangel's feather blades stuck in them.
With a well-placed spin-kick from Wolverine, finally separating them, Cyclops fired a crimson beam from his eyes, striking Archangel in the chest and sending him flying.
Three armored Heartless then turned their attention back to the founding member of the X-Men, before leaping at him, arms raised. Cyclops fired again destroying the three attacking him.
Cyclops then turned to his other restraint holding his arm and used his optic beam to free himself. He was about to rejoin the battle when another wave of nausea from Vertigo.
Emma Frost had just recovered from the villainess's last attack, before using a psychic blast to weaken her. Vertigo grunted in pain, before turning back to the blonde telepath and used her power against her. Despite how Emma was feeling, she continued on firing another mental blast at Vertigo. This time it took out the Marauder.
Sinister witnessing the losing battle decided to cut his losses. Besides he had what he needed. He then turned to leave his minions to their fate as he exited the lab. Sora had just destroyed another Heartless, as he witnessed the mutant scientist's leave. His eyes narrowed with determination, "I'm going after him!"
Spider-Man performed an uppercut on Blockbuster knocking him back, "Sora! No! Don't go after him alone!"
Only the Lantern had already drilled a hole through the door that Sinister left from and went after the villain. Spider-Man sighed as he couldn't help but wonder, "Great first with Miles and now this... I wonder if I was anything like that when I was their age."
Blockbuster angrily tried to hit Spider-Man from behind only for the latter's Spider-Sense went off and struck the villain first. The recovered Cyclops proceeded to blast off his leg retrains before joining the battle. He proceeded to blast Arclight and the remaining Heartless. Archangel then turned to his former friend and launch his metal knives-like-feathers at him. In a panic, Cyclops crossed his arms to his face in a frantic attempt to shield himself.
A moment passed before he realized that the blades should have struck him by now. Lowering his arms, he saw the blades were floating just inches from his face and body. Suspended in the air as if frozen.
A warm glow illuminated from behind the group as they turned to see Jean Grey, on fire. Yellow and red flames enveloped the red-haired telepath in a warm embrace. Yet she showed no discomfort as she sat up on her table, her restraints flying off her as if pulled by an invisible force. She then floated into the air and glared at Archangel.
The fiery aura that surrounded her, intensified as she raised her hand and aimed it at the Winged Assassin. Suddenly, Archangel flew off his feet, as if struck by an invisible Hulk and was sent flying into a console behind him. Sparks of electricity danced over the Flying Mutant's body, before exploding and knocking him to the ground.
Everyone turned to face Jean, whose flaming aura only seemed to glow brighter. They all looked in shock and awe at the presence of her power.
"Jean! Jean!" Cyclops called out to her, grabbing her attention as she turned to him.
"Jean, it's okay. It's over." He said in a calming tone as he reached out and grabbed her hand in his. The fire appearing to not burn him as he did.
Jean closed her eyes and the fire dissipated as she dropped into Cyclops's arms bridal style.
Emma immediately rushed over to them and placed her hand to Jean's forehead.
"She's weak, but she's all right." She informed him and the group.
The entire group let out a collective sigh that apparently, they'd all been holding in. Spider-Man turned to Cyclops, "Okay... never saw Jean doing that before in any of our team-ups."
Before the original leader of the X-Man could respond, Archangel suddenly sprung to his feet again and leaped over Wolverine into the sky, flying through the hole that Green Lantern created, to the sky.
Forge quickly tried to use his cannon to stop him from escaping. Unfortunately, his weapon's slow deployment time, meant the Winged Assassin would be kissing the stratosphere by the time he was ready to fire.
"Easy, Quick-draw." Wolverine snidely told the Mutant Techy. Placing a hand on his shoulder to pacify him.
"We got what we came for." He told him as he turned to look at Jean, who was unconscious in Cyclops's arms. "Let's get her home."
He then looked around before turning to Spider-Man, "Where's the kid?"
"He went after Sinister on his own," Spider-Man answered slightly annoyed.
"Perfect," Logan growled sarcastically, before ordering, "Change of plans, the rest of you get Jean home, the Web-Head and I are making sure the new guy doesn't get himself killed."
Everyone nodded as Emma helped Scott get Jean to the Blackbird, while Wolverine and Spider-Man went after Sora and Sinister...
Earlier, Sora had just left the others to go after this Sinister guy. This guy had ties to the Heartless and that meant he had ties to Maleficent. He was hoping if he could catch him, he could get some answers. Maybe he'd even know if knew where Riku and Kairi were.
He then spotted Sinister getting into some escape pod, smirking at the Lantern as the doors automatically closed shut. With that, the pod launched, Sora's eyes narrowed as he flew after him, "You're not getting away from me!"
As the pod flew outside his base away from the city, Sora continued his pursuit. As he gained on him, cannons popped out from the pod before firing upon the Lantern.
The new hero took evasive action as he aimed his ring a the cannons. He fired several beams of light to destroy each of the cannons. Once he was close enough, he created a construct of a giant tennis racket and used it to smack the pod into the forest below them. Before it could hit the ground, Sora caught the pod with his ring before lowering roughly but not destructively on the ground.
As the spiky hair Lantern, tore off the door with his ring, he spotted Sinister weakly reaching for the vials of blood he stole from Scott and Jean. Sora aimed his ring at it before firing a blast at it destroying the vails and what they contained. Sinister's eyes widened in horror, "NO!"
He then turned to the rookie hero with a glare, "You little brat! Do you know how far you set me back!"
Sora aimed his ring at Sinister, "No, and I don't care! In the power invested in me by the Guardians of Oa, you're under arrest for kidnapping, theft, brainwashing, illegal experimenting, and allying yourself with the Heatless! You want a lighter sentence, you're going to tell me everything Maleficent is planning and where Riku and Kairi are?!"
Suddenly, Sinister's smirk returned, "So, your a survivor of those islands? The attack was meant to take out the Keyblade Wielder that was there but we never saw you and your power coming."
Sora's eyes narrowed, "So you are involved."
"Yes," Sinister admitted, "And you may have delayed my plans for this world but you cannot stop what's coming."
"Alright," The Green Lantern's eyes narrowed, "Care to share? Or do I need to take you to Oa and Gantlet can get the answers from you?"
"Dear boy," Sinister smirked, "I do believe your hands will be full at the moment."
Before he could ask why Archangel swarmed in and tackled Sora away from Sinister crashing into several trees. As both Lantern and Mutant recovered, the former turned to the latter, "Warren! I'm not your enemy! Fight Sinister! Not me!"
Warren wasn't listening and continued his attack, launching more feather-like knives at him. Sora created a green brick wall to defend himself, as he thought to himself, "I don't want to fight him. He's not himself! There's gotta be a way to save him..." He then turned to his ring he was using to defend himself, "Wait..."
"Ring!" Sora exclaimed as he made his construct vanish after the former X-Men's assault ended, "How much do you know about breaking mind control?!"
As Archangel flew at him, Sora leaped over him as the ring replied, "As much as the Guardians know, and it has had a 99.8887% success rate of reversing the effects."
As Angel turned around swinging his sharpened wings at him as Sora created a green sword and shield to defend himself, "So, you can break Sinister's hold over Angel?"
"There's only a 49.88887% chance of success as the universe was remade so new methods of mind control could be..."
"I'll take it!" Sora exclaimed after parring one of Angel's attacks. He made his other constructs vanish before aiming his ring at Angel, "Do it!"
"One moment," His ring replied before a construct of restraints held Angel in place. The brainwashed hero struggled to get free as a device scanned his head before identifying the source of Sinister's control. A small green beam fired into the gem, overwriting its program. A minute later, Archangel stopped struggling, the beam stopped at the gem fell off his head, "Brainwashing... overwritten."
Sora then realized him, letting him fall to the ground. Warren groaned as Sora slowly approached him, "Warren?"
Angel removed the hood revealing his blonde hair before taking a good look at himself at a puddle. His eyes widened in horror, "What...? What have I become?!"
The memories of what he done as Archangel came back to him and guilt fell upon his face. He then turned to the Green Lantern, "Thank you..."
He then flew off, as Sora raised a hand, "Wait..."
He was about to fly after him when someone put a hand on his shoulder, "Let him go, Bub." Sora turned to see that Spider-Man and Wolverine had caught up to him as the leader of the X-Men told him, "He just needs some time to himself. He'll come back when he's ready."
Sora blinked before easing up, "Scott and Jean?"
"They're safe," Wolverine told him, "The Heartless have been dealt with and the MRD are on their way to pick up Sinister's goons."
"And Sinister?" Sora continued to ask, already feeling He wasn't going to like the answer.
Wolverine snarled at that, "Gone."
Spider-Man added, "He must have slipped away while you were helping Angel."
Sora groaned before informing them, "Great... Well, I did learn he was working with Maleficent, and they arranged the destruction of my world to get to Riku. But that's all I was able to get out of him."
Wolverine removed his mask as he told him, "Web-Head told me the story on the way. I'm sorry for what you've gone through. We'll help find your friends on this world. It's the least we can do for helping us find ours. You did good today kid."
Sora smiled at that before Spider-Man smiled, "C'mon. Let's join the others."
The Green Lantern nodded as he created a bubble around the three of them and the started flying back to the school...
Later that day, Spider-Man and Green Lantern left the mansion miles back. The latter asked, "You sure they'll be okay?"
"Yeah," Spider-Man nodded, "The team's mostly back together, Emma will help Jean get her memories back, Angel had his free will back, and they'll help you find your friends and our world's Green Lantern."
"So what do we do in the meantime," Sora wondered.
"You and I will find them the old fashion way," Spidey told him, "And if we find Sinister, we'll find out what we can from him then drop him off to the cops."
Sora smiled at that before Spider-Man's phone began ringing his theme song, "Oh, gotta talk this." He then went for the communication on his right ear under his mask, "Spider-Man here..."
After a moment, he spoke up again, "Whoa! Whoa! Scott! Say that again, I barely understood you..." His eyes widened under his mask, "Uh-oh!"
"What?" Sora tilted his head, "What happened?"
"It's Jean," Spider-Man turned to the Green Lantern, "She was kidnapped!"
Sora felt like his jaw hit the ground, as he stuttered, "But... but... but... We were only gone for 10 minutes!"
Just then, they spotted a helicopter flying away from the Xavier Institute, Sora turned to Spidey, "Is that...?"
"Not ours," Spider-Man quickly told him, "Probably the kidnappers! Go!"
Sora shot off to the skies in pursuit of the helicopter, just then the side doors opened, and a well-dressed blonde man launched an energy blast from his arm at the Lantern.
The teenage hero created a shield to defend himself from the attack with ease. The blonde man snarled with annoyance and prepared to fire again when a well-dressed bearded man stopped him before raising his hand at Sora.
Suddenly he felt like this world's gravity had just increased, making him descend a few feet. Sora grunted as he tightened his fist as the ring began to glow. He may not have been a mutant or Keyblade Wielder but his ring was powered by will. And that was something he had plenty off.
Despite the increased gravity, Sora powered on through, much to the two villains' shock. The islander smirked, "That's right! I have you now, you bad..."
Before he could finish, some flew at him and threw a punch across his face. He fell into the side of a cliff. He groaned in pain as he rubbed his bruise, "Man... what hit me..."
"Alright, you might look human kid..." A female voice with authority spoke to him. Sora looked up to see a woman with long, free-flowing blonde hair, Caucasian skin, and a figure that was befitting of a professional supermodel. The woman in question was dressed in black boots that reached her thighs, a red and black suit that covered a majority of her torso and had a gold star in the center of her chest while her arms were covered by long, black gloves, and a black mask that covered her eyes while a red scarf was tied around her neck as it waved in the wind along with her hair, "...but SWORD saw you coming from a mile away. My name is Ms. Marvel, and I'm here to welcome you to Earth. Now go home, alien."
Sora just blinked at confusion as he tilted his head, "...what?"
Meanwhile, in the world known as Hollow Bastion, a man with long red spiky kept a lookout for Heartless as he tried to remain hidden. The Heartless searched the area, causing the young man to lower his head to avoid getting spotted. Soon enough, the dark shadowy monsters continued to search elsewhere. The man sighed in relief before looking back, "They're gone."
"Thank you, Lea," A mid-aged man looked up at him and by his side was a strange blue creature trying to pass himself off as a dog. Although the others knew better.
Lea smirked, "Sure thing, boss. Man, that was a close call."
"They were all close calls," Lea's boss frowned, "Ever since the cursed witch showed up 10 years ago, she stole my research, conquered my world, and took everything precious to me. And we have no way to fight back."
"Eh," The creature frowned with his ears lowering, "Stole our Ohana."
The older man gave the 'dog' a soft rub on his head, "Yes, Stitch. Yes, she did. Braig, Dilan, Even, Aeleus, Ienzo..."
"...Isa," Lea finished as he clutched his fist, "All turned into Nobodies and became pawns in her schemes." He sighed, "Master Ansem. Isn't there anything we can do to fight back?"
"Believe me," The former ruler of this world stated, "If there was a way we could get our revenge and take back our world, I would have stopped at nothing to claim it." Ansem sighed, "But without the Keyblade, we lack the power to fight back."
"Right," Lea nodded, "And the ones we know of can't help us."
"We would need an army to take on Maleficent and both her willing and unwilling allies," Ansem the Wise stated.
Stitch then started to speak in an alien language, Lea waved his hands, "English please."
"Okay, okay," Stitch nodded before repeating in English, "Where are we gonna find an army?"
Just then two rings floated down to both Lea and Stitch, the former gasped in shock, "Huh? A ring?"
The dog-like alien stared in awe, "Ooooooh!"
"Lea Firebrand of Radiant Garden..."
"Experiment 626 of Deep Space..."
"Mega Stitch." Stitch corrected the ring that was floating by him.
"You Have the Ability to Overcome Great Fear," The two power rings told the two individuals. Much to everyone's shock, the rings slide on the fingers of Lea and Stitch. Ansem could only watch as their clothes, more so Lea than Stitch as he wasn't really wearing anything, transform before his very eyes. Lea know wore a green vest and a black shirt with the Green Lantern symbol displayed proudly on his chest, with green and black boots and pants to match. While Stitch was fully clothed with the exception of his hands and head in a traditional Lantern uniform. The rings concluded, "Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps."
Lea and Stitch stared in awe at their new outfits, as Ansem the Wise approached the newly dubbed Green Lanterns. The former turned to his boss, "Master Ansem? What is this?"
After observing the two for a moment, a smile slowly crept up on his face. Especially when he heard the word. Corps. Meaning there was an army. He answered, "I believe... you and Stitch have unintentionally found the solution to our problem."
And that will conclude today's chapter. Man, a lot has happened in this chapter. Sora helped Spidey take down Hydra, helped the X-Men find Jean, and stop Sinister, now while he's trying to save her from the Inner Circle, Sora got attacked by the newly dubbed Ms. Marvel. Oh, and she's based on Earth's Mightiest Heroes by the way. And Lea and Stitch received their power rings. Three Green Lanterns so far. A whole lot more to go.
Next time, Sora faces off against Ms. Marvel when the Avengers show up. Spider-Man has to calm them down and let them know who the real bad guys are and things take a turn when one of the X-Men is a traitor. Not to mention, our heroes have to stop a dark future from ever happening. Will it be enough to save this world? Will the Green Lantern of the Marvelous world ever show? What will happen when Magento gets involved? Along with our two new Lanterns and Ansem the Wise? Stay tuned!
