-Billy's POV-
"Billy, could you take me to the arcade?!" Max tries to ask through the closed door of my room. Deciding to ignore the little shit, I sat up from my bed and reached over to my radio to press play. The loud music suddenly fills the bedroom, blocking out any other annoying sounds(Max).
Smirking to myself, I stepped over to my dumbbells and start doing curls to pass the time a bit. This was my favorite time of day. No one home to have to worry about. Other then Max that is. No 'yes sir, 'no sir' bullshit. No having to walk on eggshells in fear of even breathing wrong in Neil's direction or proximity. Definitely no Susan with her stupid fucking pity eyes and make peace attitude. Just me, my cigs, and the loud music to drown out the rest of the world. Even if it's just for a little bit.
Constant banging could finally be heard as one song ends and the next one begins. Fucking shithead.
I was on my 6th rep before I fucking lost it and dropped the dumbbells at my feet to go and rip the door to my room open.
"Stop banging on my fucking door, bitch!" I snapped, one hand on the door frame and the other on the door. I leaned in to tower over max. But like always she just glares up at me without a single ounce of fear in her eyes. Not even a flinch from my outburst. Which just sends me into an even bigger rage.
"I'll stop banging on your door when you give me a ride to the arcade!" She bites back, crossing her arms over her chest. Chin high, not breaking eye contact once with me. "And before you tell me to piss off, I should remind you that Neil would not be very happy to know you made me walk." She warns, sending me a glare.
Max doesn't know the full extent to Neil's ways of punishment with me. Just the screaming matches and the occasional things thrown. Neil always made sure to keep the physical fights in check around blabbermouths at least until he could get me alone. Either way her statement had me seething.
"What the fuck you just say to me?" I step up towering over her short tiny frame. "Wanna run that by me one more fucking time, Maxine? Because I know I did not just hear you threaten me. You know what happens when such things happen, don't you Maxine?" I say through clenched teeth.
I hunched over to meet her eyes, hers narrowed and her mouth parted slightly in what I could only guess would be hesitation and uncertainty. "I can break every fucking thing you own, starting with that shitty fucking skateboard." My voice low and even.
Her eyes widened and her mouth snapped shut. I shot back up, straightening out to my normal height. "Meet me at my car shitbird before I change my damn mind!" I snapped.
Max snatched her skateboard up and bolted out through the front door, slamming it on her way out.
Rolling my eyes, I turned back into my room to get ready. After dressing in my normal style, I lit a cigarette as I fixed my hair in the mirror.
Little shit is getting bold. Must of been going easy on her without realizing it. To be fair we've been fine the last 2 weeks. Only the minimal of bickering and just mostly avoidance. Not that I minded that but now here she is fucking it up once again.
With a sigh, I dapped some cologne on and grabbed my brown leather jacket from my closet. Snatching up my keys from my nightstand, I sauntered out the front door. When I didn't see Max instantly by my car, I just about lost it thinking she left when I saw her to the right of the lawn on the sidewalk.
I started to yell until I saw who she was talking to. Holy fucking shit. Goddess neighbor girl! Covered in oil. My eyes widened, Shit that's hot. How the hell did Max get to her first? My eyes traveled the length of her body. She was wearing tight ass blue jeans that hugged her in only the best way possible. A black tank top that stopped just before her navel and a matching blue jean vest that was tied in a knot in the front. Black boots that were the girl version of my own.
What really got me were her blue eyes that pierced through me like she could see into my very soul. It made my palms sweat and my body shutter. I didn't realized I froze up until her smirk snapped me back to reality. My legs started moving towards her at there own accord. Trying to cover up how nervous I was, I cemented the usual smirk I wear.
"This must be the dickhead?" Her eyes flickering to Max for a moment. What she just call me? Why is her voice the most sexiest thing I've ever heard before? Can she tell how much she is affecting me? Jesus…Her smirk widened into a charming smile. Oh she definitely fucking knows.
"And you must be the speed demon that passed me going 95 yesterday. Most people just call me Billy, Billy Hargrove." I smirked, holding my hand out. She crossed her arms, while she stared down my outreached hand. She had an amused look on her face as her eyes met back up to mine.
"Yeah I don't think I asked, Casanova and for the record I was pretty disappointed you didn't try and pass me. I love a good competition." She said with a wink and the most dazing smile I've ever seen.
I dropped my hand back to my side. And just stared like an idiot. I could see Max in my peripheral smirking at me. Little shit. "Well princess, I'll remember that for next time I see you coming." I retort, giving her a wink right back.
I was expecting for her to blush and look away, instead her eyes twinkled with excitement. "Princess? Do I look like a princess, sweets?" She lets out a breathy laugh. Oh it was music to my ears.
I cocked an eyebrow, hoping she couldn't see the rise in heat that traveled to my face from her choice of nickname for me. "Well, you haven't exactly given me your name, princess." I smirk.
She stared at me for a moment, my eyes couldn't help but flicker to her lips a few times. I having the strong urge to grab her and kiss that beautiful smirk off her face.
She faces Max who if I'm being honest completely forgot was there. "Well little red, it was nice meeting you. Ya know where to find me if dick head here gets on your nerves." Her eyes flicker back up to me, clearly amused.
"Yeah, nice meeting you too." Max smirked, walking to the passenger side of my car. My mystery neighbor turned on her heel and headed back to her car, slamming the hood of it.
"Really? No name?" I holler, watching her set her tools in her garage and clean her hands with the rag from her back pocket.
She tossed it behind her shoulder as she smirked, looking back at me. "No name, sweets." She hollers back. I watch her wink at me then close her garage, leaving me alone on the sidewalk. I shook my head, grinning like an idiot.
I sauntered back over to my car and unlocked it. Sliding in and sticking the key in the ignition, I look over and notice Max staring at me. Her eyes narrowed and her brow quirked. She clearly wanted to say something.
My temper obviously getting the best of me "What the hell you staring at, Maxine?!" I snap. She quickly looked away, opting to look out her window instead."Nothing.." she muttered.
I sigh, starting the engine of my baby and quickly shifting it into gear. I felt the tiniest bit of guilt but pushed that shit far down. No way I'd ever let her see that. This is how life needed to be and if she wasn't such a pain in the damn ass she'd see that. I turned the music up to fill the silence in the car.
15 minutes later I came to a screeching halt in the arcade parking lot. "Be out here in 2 hours or you will be skating home with that skateboard for the last time, Maxine." I watch her get out and slam my door. "I know!" She flipped me off while she walked off.
Shifting the car into drive and hauling ass out of there, my mind started to wonder back to the neighbor again. A smile instantly spread across my face. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of her pretty blue eyes staring at me, my face warming at the way she called me sweets. My mind wondered back to the curve of her hips in those oil covered blue jeans. The jeans I was wearing started to become tighter. Shit I need to calm down or this girl is gonna be the death of me. But yet, I still couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face.
