Ruby lay in bed as the Reploid Doctor finally checked on her. Ruby never thought about teleporting like X or any of the other Maverick Hunters. It was unsure of what would happen if a human, like herself, were to teleport from place to place. Well, everyone had an idea now. Through, Ruby wasn't sure if it was her armor that kept her from the full side effects of the teleporting, but the experience was uncomfortable, to say the least.

"Alright, Miss Rose. It seems that everything checks out. If you feel any after experience, please inform the nearest Hunter. You are one of the first human to go under teleportation." He told her.

Ruby nodded getting up. She slips on the jumpsuit before putting her armor back on. She walked out of the doctor's office before seeing Zero, Weiss, and Blake waiting for her.

"Um, hey?" Ruby asked before Weiss walked up to her.

"You really are a dunce!" She said, placing her hands on her hips.

"Uh..." Ruby said, confused.

"Now, Now, Weiss," Zero said, stopping her.

"Ruby, we understand that you wish to help, but you can not rush into a fight because there's a Maverick Attack. We don't send Rookie Hunters out to the field for a reason. It's far too dangerous, and Dr. Cain wants to keep a tight lid on the fact we have humans on the forces." Zero told her.

"I know. But, when you guys mention that Storm Eagle took something that belongs to you, I just wanted to help get it back. Plus, I've been self-taught for three years, now." Ruby said.

"I was taught to fight the minute I joined the White Fang, but even I know not to go rushing into a battle," Blake said.

"I have some skill that was taught to me when Winter came to visit from time to time, but even I know I'm not skilled enough to go take on Mavericks," Weiss added.

"Look, Ruby, what we're saying is this. You're a Rookie Hunter, someone that's not ready to fight the mavericks. This way we trained them first, to make sure they are ready." Zero told her.

Ruby looks away. All she wanted to do was help.

"With that being said, X would let to see you in his quarters," Zero added.

"Um, sure? Where is it?" Ruby asked.

Meanwhile,

It took Yang sometime before she reached the city, surprised to see the damage to the city. She walks until she saw a bar that was still open. Yang was taken to a few of them thanks to her uncle, but she never drinks in one. However, she was feeling a bit hungry. She walks towards it, hoping to get some food.

"ID?"

She stops when a guard stops her.

"Not staying, just want some food," Yang told him.

"Then hit the store." He told her.

"Did you not see the damage out there?" Yang asked.

The Guard saw her point, but he had a job to do.

"Unless I see some ID, I'm not letting you in." He said.

Yang took a breath before patting the guard's shoulder.

"Sorry about this." She said, confusing him.

The people inside enjoy the music and food before the doors burst apart when the guard was thrown through. Yang steps in surprising everyone.

"Sorry, folks. Just here for a meal and I'll be on my way." She said, turning to the counter.

However, she was stopped by a few other men that were ready to throw her out. Yang sighs, dropping her bag.

"Look, boys, I'm not here for trouble, but if you going to fight, then you better hope that your doctor can cover the bill." She warned them.

One of them went to grab her, but Yang push aside his arm before throwing a punch, knocking the breath out of the guard. He fell to the ground as the other looked shocked.

"Let's dance boys," Yang smirks.

They all rush towards her, but Yang easily dodges and counters them. One tried to grab her by the hair, but she grabs his arm and toss him into another guard.

"Don't touch my HAIR!" She warned them.

"Looks like someone is touchy about her hair."

"She remembers me of mother."

Yang turns before seeing two young women wearing red and white dresses walking up to her. Yang sighs, knowing what they were here for.

"I only want some food. I can already pay for it." She said, not wanting to get in more trouble.

"How old are you?" The Girl in white asked.

"17," Yang answers.

"Just a year short. Where are your parents?" The girl in red asked.

"Haven't seen my father since my birth and just went out on my own from my mom," Yang said.

"And who's your mom?" The girl in white asked.

"Raven," Yang said, shocking them.

"Wait, Raven?! As in the Branwen thief, Raven!? That's your mother?!" The Girl in red asked, shocked.

"I'm nothing like her. I want to find my own path." Yang told them.

Yang was shocked when a first came close to her and dodged it.

"Looks like we have a troublemaker, Mel." The girl in red said.

"It looks like it, Mil." The girl in white said before running up to Yang.

Yang uses her arms to block her kick before jumping back.

"Like always, I mention my mother and everyone thinks I'm just like her." Yang sighs before taking off her cloak.

She held up her first, both of them wearing yellow gauntlets. She punches them together, showing she was serious. The two girls rush up to Yang with the white one throwing another kick and the red one trying to punch her. However, they were both shocked to see that she caught them both.

"By the way, my father is Tai Xiao Long." She added, spinning around and throwing them.

The Girls crash on the floor, surprised.

"TAI XIAO LONG?!" They shouted.

"He's one of the strongest humans on the planet!" The girl in red shouted.

"How in the world did he fall for the Branwen thief?!" The girl in white asked.

"Don't know. As I said, I haven't seen my dad since the day I was born." Yang said.

"Look, just give me some food, and you won't have to see me again," Yang said.

The two girls stood up before they heard a voice.

"Give her the food."

They turned and saw their boss Junior Long walking up to them.

"Sir?" The Girl in White asked.

"If she says who she said she is, then we don't need to bring more trouble. Give her some food." He said, knowing this was not the time to be fighting.

Yang sighs, nodding in thanks. She soon was given some food and she ate it. Once she was done, she pull out lots of cash, surprising them.

"Before you ask, this wasn't stolen. Well, maybe I stole some of it from my mother." Yang said, setting it down.

Junior was shocked to see it as Yang grabs her bag.

"I also left some extra to help pay off the damage. Don't think I have enough to cover all of through." She added before leaving.

Yang walks down the street, pulling out her map.

"Let's see, the Maverick Hunter Base should be a few more miles this way." She said, hoping that they could help her find the path she was looking for.

With Ruby,

After Zero told her where X's quarter was, she stood in front of his door and knocked.

"Enter."

Ruby steps in, a little surprised to see how empty the room was. Well, not completely empty. There was a recharge capsule near the corner.

"Zero said, you wanted to see me?" Ruby asked, thinking that X was upset.

"Yes," X said, sighing.

"Ruby, I understand that you want to prove yourself as a Maverick Hunter. I know you have trained yourself to fight against them, but I also don't like how you try to use yourself like a weapon." He said.

"As a weapon?" Ruby asked, confused.

"I watch your training. I could tell that you were not trying to overdo yourself, something most rookie hunters do, but you're treating yourself like you were a weapon that can stop anyone in your path. I know humans are different from us, but I still don't like it." X said.

"X, I don't see myself as a weapon. Just because I try to make myself one with my weapon doesn't mean I don't see myself as one. Before my mom died, she told me that I shouldn't overdo myself. No one is going to care about me being flashy or whatnot. I never wanted to be treated like a weapon, but sometimes it's a good idea to feel like a weapon to understand the weapon you use. And from what I have seen, your creator doesn't see you as a weapon either." Ruby said.

X closes his eyes. He still remembers what Dr. Light told him. Plus, the one his tone sounded when he gave them the upgrades. It was like a parent was wishing their child the best of luck while having some worry in their voice. Strange that he barely remembers anything about the Doctor, but the tone did sound familiar.

"Doctor, I promise to use this power for the good."

X blinks as a long-forgotten message appears in his memory banks. He looks at Ruby before sighing.

"Long alone, I recall someone telling me that he wishes to have robots and humans live together in peace. And now, Simga is threatening that." He said, thinking.

"Then let's show him that he's wrong about humans," Ruby said, surprising X.

"I wanted to join the Maverick Hunters to show that I can show that humans are not helpless beings. We can be just as good as the Reploids. That's what Sigma forgot." Ruby added.

X blinks. He recalls the fights Ruby had with Chill Penguin and Storm Eagle. Ruby didn't try to overdo herself and mostly let him take control of the fight, giving him back up when he needed it.

X then rise his hand smiling.

"Welcome to Maverick Hunters, Ruby Rose." He said, surprising her.

Ruby smiles before shaking his hand.

And that's the breather chapter. Sorry if things look a little confusing. And you might have noticed how different Yang is compared to the show. To put it simply, this Yang was taken with Raven when she left Tai. So she had a bit of a different life than the one we know. I tried to make it show that Ruby had a reason for wanting to join the Maverick Hunters, but even I have to admit I wish I had a better reason. But if you guys are ok with this, then I'll leave it as it is. And that line the X remember was supposed to be from Maverick Hunter X. Where Dr. Light was talking to X during his building before the X series started. The problem was, I couldn't find the script that would help me. So, I had to put up a random line.
