"I swear, your mom's croissants are the most delicious thing I've ever eaten", Adrien grumbled with his mouth full as he and Marinette sat on a park bench. She couldn't help but giggle, amused by his enjoyment of the pastries.

"You really aren't allowed to snack, are you?"

The model shook his head. "Mm-mm, my dad makes me watch my weight. Luckily I don't have an eating disorder, I'm just not allowed to have anything extra." He wiped the crumbs from his face and sighed. "He was strict before, but... since my mom disappeared, it's like he's gotten worse."

He hung his head and Marinette frowned, resting a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you think about her..."

"It's okay", the blonde replied, rubbing his eyes before tears could sneak out, "I'm coping in my own way. And having a friend like you is a big help." Marinette blushed, taken aback by his words. "I... I didn't know our friendship meant so much to you." Adrien smiled and set a hand on her knee. "It does mean a lot, Marinette. You, Alya, Nino, everybody... it means the world. So... thank you."

He turned to her and gave her that stunning smile. Marinette's heart melted and her world turned pink.

"Marry me", she blurted out.

Adrien quirked up an eyebrow. "Wait, what?"

The baker's daughter gasped and quickly spat out a correction. "Very!! I said very!!! As in you're very welcome!! That's what I said... very..." She sighed and turned away from him, but he grabbed her shoulder and turned her back around. "Hey, it's okay, Marinette. Everybody's awkward sometimes. Even me."

She giggled and locked eyes with him. "Well... I don't believe you... but I'll accept it just because you're trying to be nice."

They both shared a nice warm laugh and Adrien took the time to admire the way the sun reflected off of Marinette's soft skin. It reminded him of.. Ladybug. In fact, now that he thought about it, a lot of things about Marinette reminded him of the spotted heroine. Her skin, her freckles, her hair, her ribbons... a lot of mysterious coincidences indeed.

"So... how about that movie?", Adrien asked as they caught their breath.

Marinette smiled and nodded, taking his hand and walking out of the park.

Little did they know, they were being watched intently from the bushes.

"Everything going well, Nino?", Alya asked her boyfriend as she scrunched up beside him in the bush. Nino was listening in through a homemade apparatus made up of two tiny satelite dishes attached to a megaphone handle, attached to a headset with another satelite dish on it.

"Jeez, Als, gimme some breathing room. They just left. It sounds like everything is going great, but don't you think we should just let Marinette do her thing?"

The amateur reporter rolled her eyes. "Hello, we are letting her do her thing, we're just getting front row seats!! Did you think I would miss this?!"

Once Adrien and Marinette got settled into their seats at the theater, Tikki quickly zipped out of Marinette's purse and flew under the seats, finding Plagg chowing down on floor popcorn. She gagged and smacked him on the back of the head. "Stop it, Plagg", she whisper-yelled, "That's disgusting."

"Can't help it, Sugarcube", the Kwami of Destruction replied as his stomach growled, "Adrien always forgets to feed me when he's being lovey-dovey. Your kid is really messin with my eating schedule."

Tikki rolled her eyes. "Would it kill you to eat less?"

Plagg scoffed. "Oh do not start with me, Little Miss 'I created a Saturn-sizes pastry that almost destroyed the planet', need I remind you of the time you ate an entire bread market out of business in 1430? You're the reason Joan of Arc was captured by the English." The Kwami of Creation's antennae wilted and she sank away from Plagg.

"Th-that was mean", she sobbed, "You know that's my biggest regret." Plagg sighed and sat down beside her. "I'm sorry, Sugarcube, I didn't mean it."

He rested his head on hers and she did the same, the pair enjoying each other's company while their holders did the same above them.

"So... think they'll finally do it?", Plagg asked, breaking the relative silence as the previews continued.

"I hope so", Tikki answered, knowing exactly what he meant, "It's the perfect opportunity for them to get together. And who knows? Maybe revealing their identities will come naturally after that."

"Yeah, I don't think that rule really applies now that Marinette's the Guardian, anyway. She can essentially make her own rules. And hey, if they let the cat out of the bag, pun intended, then we'll get to see each other more often", he said optimistically, "Then we can test your 'Kwamis don't fall in love' theory."

Tikki giggled. "You don't love me, Plagg. You're just my best friend."

"Okay, ouch. Ya know, I put a lot of thought into that spee-"

"Shhh the movie's starting!!"

The opening credits started and Marinette and Adrien began chowing down on their popcorn. Like in any good cliché romantic comedy, their hands brushed against each other, causing the two teenagers to blush and laugh awkwardly. Marinette moved a stray lock of hair out of her face and occasionally snuck a sideways glance at Adrien. His piercing green eyes and delicate blonde hair reminded her of... Cat Noir.

Merely thinking about the two of them in the same thought almost made Marinette laugh. They were so different, but... so alike as well. They were both kindhearted and selfless.

I wonder what Kitty's up to right now...

The movie went well, but right as the main characters were about to have their climactic love confession moment, the akuma alert siren rang out. Both of them stood up and faced each other.

"Find somewhere to hide, Marinette. I'm gonna make sure other people get out safely", he said sternly.

She nodded. "You be safe."

He smiled at her before they ran off in separate directions.
