Chapter Text

Fluttershy's World*

To distract himself while he waited, Discord crunched on peppermint canes with a deep anxious energy and still felt his body buzzing as if bees lay just beneath his skin. The magic confused him. Not his own or Chrysalis' or Sombra's, but the damn stupid statue. He just needed to find a way to get to Fluttershy before something bad happened. 'Just hold on, My Dear.' His head throbbed but a moment, but it was enough to have him grip it.

'Find-'

'Hunt…'

'Hunt…'

'Kill, kill, kill-'

'PoSsEsS Fluttershy!'

'Your's-'

The voices whispered over each other, the noise bouncing along his skull. The sound of static near his ear made him look though at the sudden noise, seeing the jade butterfly struggle slightly, the air hot and full of electricity in it's area and with little care, he snatched it, heat searing his palm. His eyes caught the opening the jade butterfly came through, his mismatch eyes widening and by impulse he grasped the edges, though he pulled back with a gasp as the tips of his fingers had changed instantly, the shock having him pull back until he'd realized his mistake. "Fuck!" He snarled, lifting his mask to lick then blow on the burn then the jade butterfly (no, he didn't lick that).

The sound of a car pulling up made him look over, relaxing when he saw who it was. "Why did you want us to meet here, Dissy?" An agitated Chrysalis adjusted her hat, pulling her ponytail through.

Things had been quite difficult after the hospital fiasco. It had taken Chrysalis, Sombra, AND Capper to subdue Discord enough where they could all find out what was happening and why they were at a weird hospital still in their clothes from winter. After doing so, Discord had sobbed into Chrysalis' chest with a heart breaking yowl, the anguish turning to grief.

Capper and Derpy were shocked at learning of the magic the trio possessed but ultimately decided then wasn't the time to bombard the trio with questions and after Discord was stable enough, emotionally and physically, they all felt the same heartbreak at the news of what happened to their Fluttershy, though all they had to go off of was The Madame's word.

With that, meant not only Discord's magic, but Sombra's and Chrysalis' as well, was going haywire so strong with their emotions and breaks in mentality, Dean Celestia's "prophecy" was quickly upon their world in a matter of a few weeks, not only their town being terrorized by the grieving magic holders.

Doing so, had it where now they had to disguise themselves to blend in, harder for the guys than Chrysalis of course.

Sombra walked out from the passenger side and slid the hood of his jacket up on his head while Capper got out as well, sliding a arm around Sombra's waist. "Yeah, Dissy-boy! Why bring us to a high school?" Capper rose a brow, no doubt curious until his eyes lit up at what Discord was holding. "What's that?" He released Sombra and folded his arms in front of him like a raptor while his back was hunched and he took big, exaggerated steps with a mouth curled grin and he stepped closer to his friend.

Discord rolled his eyes, handling the jade butterfly carefully in his fingertips. "Chrissy, catch." He tossed it lightly towards the impatient woman.

Chrysalis barely caught it in her palms, the once hard jade melting like slime as it molded into beetle-like cuffs against her forearms. "Eee!" She shivered, the cuffs attaching to her skin like it had been there her whole life, as the slime cooled and hardened just like a beetles shell. "What bullshit was that, Discord?" She rose her voice, the stress of current events evident in her face.

His smile grew, his large mouth filling his face. "That, was a gift from our Fluttershy…in a way…but that's not important as the fact she's alive! She was transported to another world that's on the other side of the statue. She said it just happened, she wasn't sure how. It must be the magic, that has to explain it!" His hands and arms flailed around in excitement. He was nervous and antsy, wanting nothing more than to reach his Fluttershy.

The others looked to him with sympathy, but the only one who seemed to take his ramble to heart was Sombra. Sombra was a skeptic through and through, but since "the accident" Fluttershy was in, he was willing to be a little more loose about what he'd consider a possibility. Though…he could believe Discord was far in his grief and truly thought that was the case. But…if that was or not the case, they could at least humor him. "How exactly, Discord, are we getting through?"

Discord paused at that, the maniac having not gotten that far.

"Discord…just stop." Chrysalis sighed, not in the mood, her nightmares becoming worse. She knew why they were, the memories of her miscarriage and then losing Fluttershy, having thought of Fluttershy as her little sister.

His smile disappeared quickly, his gaze going to the only woman currently there. "'Stop' what? What have I done this time?" He snipped, knowing she must be exhausted with the bags under her eyes.

None of them were getting much sleep since.

Static ran along Chrysalis' body. "Calling us here for no reason and wasting our time." She pointed a manicured mail at him. She knew she was being unfair. She was being cruel. "Instead of chasing after a ghost, try and heal. We all miss her, but we also know you're crazy, so we don't know if it's true or if you've just imagined it." She poked his chest, each touch sending painful shocked through his system.

Chrysalis was angry. She was tired.

Discord gripped her hand, his own face turning irate. "I believed her to be dead as well, Chrysalis. I got a sign that she wasn't, though, and I plan to follow it even if it does lead to a dead end. Why are you so set that she has passed? Is it to ease your pain or so that you can feel it's okay to try and forget?" His voice broke by the end, hating to even say the words again.

"Why do you think?! If she was alive, she would've came back to us one way or another with how stubborn she is." Chrysalis tried defending herself, not wanting to be caught that she actually didn't know for certain where Fluttershy was as no body was found.

"That's a lie, Chrysalis, and you know it. If she was able, yes, I agree she'd be here. But, if it's as Discord said, then she's trapped with no way home and probably thinks the same as us, that we're gone. How do you think that'd make her feel after everything? She's my friend, though I know I don't act it much, but I'd rather waste energy following a glimmer of hope than not even try. It's worse than having to give up on a project I'd studied weeks or more for." Sombra cut in, separating the unstable adults. 'Really…'

Chrysalis turned her head, biting her lip hard with her pride hurt, knowing her anger wasn't as justified as she'd like. "You've been hanging around that flea bag for too long." She struggled out with a chuckle, giving in and wanting to lighten the mood a little.

"I think it's a nice change of pace. Knowledge thrives on the new, so I'm just closer to being unbeatable." Sombra tried hiding the creeping blush as he saw Capper look at him confused.

"My Majesty, who have you been hanging around with behind my back?" His green eyes filled with tears.

'Why do I love this fucking moron?' Sombra thought before he got Capper's full attention by grasping his hand. "She was talking about you, you imbecile." He rubbed his temples, seeing it click in Capper's mind as he smiled large, kissing Sombra's hand and practically purring.

Capper looked adoringly to Chrysalis after, though more playful than anything. "That's the nicest thing you've called me!" He battled his eyes at her in good fun.

Discord smiled at his friends as he observed them. They could make it. Fluttershy would try anything she could, so they had to as well. He went and put his long arms around Chrysalis and Sombra's shoulders. "Now things are settled, should we try and open this bitch up?" Discord asked, the voices getting louder in his ears and a giddiness making his heart beat.

"I hope this doesn't take too long." Chrysalis worried, looking up at the ever darkening sky and a feeling of urgency making her decide they needed to find out how to…fast.

Equestria*

Their hooves clacked against the flooring as the Princesses, or at least Celestia as Luna had to rest despite the situation, led them farther into the palace and the crew kept glancing back to Fluttershy, obviously wanting to ask questions but unsure if they should, as the matter seemed dire.

Pony Fluttershy slowed her steps to walk along Fluttershy. "I am sorry about Discord. He's a little…protective, so I hope you won't hold it against him." She smiled sweetly as she apologized for the Draconequus who was floating in the air and messing with the walls.

Fluttershy looked to her pony counterpart in a daze, before she shook her head. "There's nothing to hold against, so don't worry. I-uh-heard a lot about you from your friends."

Pony Fluttershy blushed, turning her head a bit. "Oh, I hope it was good things. Hehe, I suppose even if it were about times I messed up, that's fine too. My friends are very understanding, aren't they? Now that I'm better, if you'd like, we could all go to Sugar Cube corner for some sweets after this-this…what Princess Celestia needs." She smiled widely, her wings fluttering out in excitement of a potential new friend.

Fluttershy gulped, still tasting the tang of blood on the roof of her mouth. "I'm not sure your friends would like that. Especially Mr. Discord, with what they've found out. If you don't mind me asking, why were you in a coma? They said you were injured."

Pony Fluttershy shrugged. "Just an accident when we were trying to subdue a creature that wouldn't listen to me when I asked it to leave." She giggled a bit, almost guiltily. "I didn't know I'd been asleep that long though. I must have worried them a lot." Pony Fluttershy looked to "Breeze", looking her up and down. "I feel like I've seen you before."

Fluttershy barely flinched, her mind thinking up anything to say, when she remembered what Mr. Discord and the others had thought when she woke up for the first time in their world. "I'm a Changeling, or must be since I'm from another world. But don't tell the others." She was going to drop it, but then she laid a wing against Pony Fluttershy's back. "Also…of course you worried them, but that's a good thing. It means they love you." She swallowed the large lump that formed in her throat and smiled, not realizing she revealed her fangs.

Pony Fluttershy frowned. "Oh…I-uh-I'm not sure about keeping secrets from my friends. I'm sure they wouldn't mind you are one, though." She smiled nervously.

Fluttershy felt jealousy squirm in her belly and decided to change topics when the opportunity came up. Mr. Discord was snickering to himself and changing the other ponies coat colors. 'What a childish idiot.' She poked Pony Fluttershy with her wing. "Mr. Discord is currently playing with the stained glass murals and is randomly changing the coat colors of your friends without their knowledge."

Pony Fluttershy looked ahead with wide eyes at that. "DISCORD! Please return their coats to normal. As well as the murals! Those are important." She huffed.

Mr. Discord pouted, sliding a glare towards Fluttershy then teleporting next to Pony Fluttershy and running his claws through her mane in apology, her looking up at him with a smile, trying to look annoyed but obviously wasn't.

It was only interrupted by the others having heard all this and having only then realized their coats were messed with as sparkles surrounded their eyes, most likely Mr. Discord making it where they couldn't see the changes until he was caught.

Fluttershy's heart ached.

"Neon green?! It hurts! Discord it hurts!" Pinkie cried out first, covering her eyes in her usual dramatic fashion.

"Oh gross, this is SO not my color." Rarity snubbed her nose at the gaudy gold coat against her deep purple mane.

AJ just sighed at her chartreuse coat and shook her head. "Of course." She drawled.

"IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU, DISCORD?!" Rainbow yelled, almost getting into his face as her coat was a bright hot pink.

Mr. Discord snorted. "Of course it is, Dashy."

Twilight sighed with exhaustion. "Can we please focus here? You know, you don't even have to be here, Discord." She facepalmed, not wanting to pay attention to her teal coat.

Mr. Discord shrugged. "Yes, but I WANT to be here. Things are getting interesting and I'm curious." He slid a quick glance towards Fluttershy, a dangerous warning there, one Fluttershy wasn't the least bit fazed by.

Mr. Discord was just acting like a brat in her opinion.

Fluttershy scrunched her nose at him in turn. She hated he found out. She hated he outed her too. 'Stupid bastard.' She thought bitterly.

The Princess in front of them stopped, looking back at the antics. "Miss Breeze." Celestia called out after observing their guest for a moment, a few things occurring to her.

Fluttershy looked over, walking up to the tall pony. "Yes, Ma'am?" Fluttershy tried being polite for the first time there, as Pony Fluttershy reminded her of who she used to be. The person she'd missed being, even if she wouldn't admit it.

Princess Celestia smiled gently, Fluttershy believing it as a genuine one. "Would you happen to know more about what these Elements of Harmony from your world looked like?"

Fluttershy knew, the memory of it all making her frown, but did she truly want them knowing she was so close to the gems? What if they connected that she was part of it? "J-just like their cutie marks. That's all, I'm sorry."

'I really am. I just can't let any of you figure out who I am.'

Princess Celestia kept her smile. "That's alright. Now-"

As timing would have it, a guard came rushing in through the set of doors they'd entered awhile ago. "Princesses…and friends, I have urgent news from The Crystal Empire." He huffed, having obviously ran as fast as he could.

Princess Celestia and Princess Twilight looked to each other before Princess Celestia urged him to continue once he caught his breath. "It's…it's King Sombra. He somehow survived when the crystal heart was restored. Princess Cadence and Shining Armor have been holding him off, but he seems to be going with a new strategy, as Shining Armor warned me to forward to you in warning." He bowed his head, done with the warning.

"Oh no. Twilight-" Princess Celestia began, but the others looked to her confidently.

"No worries, Princess Celestia. We defeated him once, we can do it again." Princess Twilight assured her.

The others nodded as well, beginning to walk back in a hurry to get ready for the trip.

"I'm coming too." Fluttershy went up beside Princess Twilight.

"Look, Breeze, I'm not sure about that. We've faced this danger before. You haven't. I wouldn't want you getting hurt." She spoke kindly, taking Fluttershy aback.

Fluttershy huffed though, thinking it almost funny that they didn't know what she was capable. "I'll be fine. Either way, I'm going. I don't have anything here, so I'm ready to go. Besides, this King Sombra guy, he wouldn't know me. It's an advantage for you guys, isn't it? Especially if what the guard said was true about him trying new things to tire them out, right?" She tried going the strategic route.

Twilight seemed to think as they all went separately for the time being, deciding to meet up at the train in about an hour. With a sigh, she nodded. "Just try and be discreet. We want to make sure he doesn't know anything so we can all think of a plan of attack. Banishing him doesn't seem to be working. We'll all talk in the train and find out what our course of action should be. You'll find the train station. I gotta hurry." Twilight nodded, going to her castle to gather her own things as well.

Fluttershy let out a deep breath. What was she getting herself into? These ponies weren't like her friends back home, which meant Sombra would be different as well. A thought occurred to her. If Discord was able to take the magic from this world's Chrysalis and hopefully give it to her Chrysalis, then maybe it'll work the same. She didn't want to pass out though. Or be in that pain. Huffing, she adjusted her cap that Rarity had made her for the sun, and began flying in the direction of the train station.
