Week 5

J.D. was jumping through the trees to test what his new tail could do.

He slipped off a branch, and his tail grabbed the branch.

"Whew!" J.D. exclaimed. "My tail is prehensile. Cool."

He flipped up and landed on the ground.

He dropped down on all fours and pointed his tail like a Scorpion at a tentacled alligator, who yelped as it was scorched.

"Wow!" exclaimed J.D. "That was like an electron laser. My lightning powers have been enhanced because of it. Let me see here."

He stabbed the ground with his tail, zapped the ground, and a bunch of mutant gophers sprang from the ground.

"Wow!" exclaimed J.D., "Chernobyl Earthworm Style!" He explained to the viewers, "That's how they get earthworms out of Chornobyl, Ukraine. I watched it on TV."

"All campers get ready for today's challenge," Chris announced.

"It's time to get to work," J.D. declared.

At the campsite, Chris was telling them their challenge.

"Today, campers, your challenge is something I call the Heroic Phobia Factor," Chris explained. "This was given to me as an idea. Four of you will be heroes. 2 for each team, and save the other campers from their own fears."

J.D. responded, "I told Chris about this."

"That's right, J.D., and since it was your idea, you and Naruto will be the Atomic Owls' heroes," Chris continued.

JD replied, "All right."

"This is going to be awesome, bro!" Naruto exclaimed.

Chris continued, "And Leonard, Lightning, you two will be the heroes for the Nuclear Bears."

"All right!" yelled Lightning. "Lightning is going to win! J.D., may the best man win."

"Lightning, you too," J.D. shook his hand, "I saw the Phobia Factor Challenge, and it was intense. I'm sorry you guys went through all that."

"J.D., it's okay," Gwen assured him. "But we saw your adventures in the headlines and they were awesome."

"Besides, we know you can save us all," Courtney added.

"Thanks, guys," J.D. replied.

Chris called out, "J.D., Naruto, Lightning, Leonard, please come into my quarters while everyone gets set up."

J.D. responded, "Okay.

They headed to Chris's luxurious mansion on the other side of the island.

"Wow!" cried J.D., "Nice mansion, Chris."

"Thank you," Chris responded, "here is where the campers that lost Season 1 stayed."

"It's beautiful," J.D. added, "it's like my mansion back home in Michigan."

"Your mansion is far nicer than mine," Chris pointed out, "but that's not important."

They were enjoying some juice in Chris's room.

"Now J.D. we went through with your challenge because it was a great idea," Chris explained. "Now the objective for you four is to rescue as many campers as possible. We've set up a dangerous obstacle course full of booby traps for all of you to clear in order to rescue each camper."

"I'm always up for a challenge, Chris," J.D. added.

Leonard responded, "We'll use magic to rescue our campers.

Lightning retorted, "Not now Leonard, but your magic is now working.

"I've been helping him," J.D. added, "and great job Leonard."

Leonard said, "Thanks J.D., I owe it all to you."

"Thank you," J.D. remarked.

"Anyway," Chris continued, "you all have till sundown to save as many campers as possible, whether it's your team or the other." We start the challenge when I get the signal." A buzzer was heard. "They're ready. Follow me."

They were led to a starting line, where they took their places, and Chris handed them a list of what each camper should do.

"Are you ready?" Chris asked.

"I'm ready and raring to go," J.D. replied.

"Believe it!" Naruto exclaimed.

"Lightning is always ready," Lightning said.

"Let's mystify them," Leonard added.

"All right," Chris said. "On your mark. Get set." He blew an air horn.

They ran and split off.

"Let's begin with our team," J.D. proposed. "We'll start by looking for Gwen. Her fear is being buried alive."

"All right," Naruto said, "let's go look at the beach.".

J.D. replied, "All right, let's go!"

Running through the sand, they came across a group of mounds arranged in a circle around something.

J.D. picked up a rock, hurled it, and when it struck one of the mounds, it exploded.

"Land mines!" shouted J.D.

"Chris sure knows how to make a challenge exciting," Naruto commented.

"He sure does," J.D. replied, "WIND STYLE: GREAT BREAKTHROUGH!"

He fired a blast of wind from his hand, clearing the sand, and in the center of the circle of exposed land mines, a portion of a glass box was exposed.

"Nice work, bro," Naruto complimented.

J.D. responded, "Thanks, but come on!"

They make their way to the center of the circle and begin digging. When Naruto finally managed to get the glass box open, Gwen emerged and sobbed while hugging Naruto.

"It's okay, Gwen," Naruto assured her.

"Thank you, Naruto," Gwen whispered.

Naruto replied, "You're welcome."

"We need to get moving," J.D. replied. "Let's find Izzy. From what I remember, she hates flying."

An airplane flies over them, guarded by Flying Mutated Mountain Goats.

"Let's go," J.D. urged.

"Right," Naruto nodded, "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!"

Naruto made a Clone and it held Gwen bridal style.

They flew into the air, and the goats noticed them and breathed streams of fire at them.

"Look out!" shouted J.D.

They dodged and flew away.

"Those goats can breathe fire?" questioned J.D., "That is insane."

"I know," Naruto agreed, "we need a diversion."

J.D. responded, "I got it. I'll distract them, and you save Izzy."

"Got it," Naruto answered.

J.D. flew to the goats, who chased him down, and Naruto opened the plane door and let Izzy out.

"Thank you, Naruto," Izzy responded, "you're awesome when you fly, dude."

"You're welcome, Izzy," Naruto said.

Naruto makes another clone and it carries Izzy.

J.D. flies back to him. "Good job, bro."

"Thanks, J.D," Naruto replied.

"I saw Courtney at the theater," Gwen explained.

"Then that's where we're going," J.D. responded. "From what we remember, she's afraid of Green Jelly. Let's go!"

J.D., Naruto, Gwen, and Izzy hurried to the theater and saw Courtney on a diving platform with no ladder hung 20 feet in the air over a big tank of green jelly, and the platform was slowly being dragged back, guarded by a giant beetle wearing boxing gloves.

Naruto responded, "You go for Courtney. I'll take care of him."

"Right," J.D. agreed.

J.D. spreads his wings and flies up to Courtney, while Naruto pulverizes the beetle and scares him away.

J.D. helped Courtney off the platform, but it was wired to explode.

"Uh oh!" gasped J.D.

It exploded, splattering Green Jelly everywhere as J.D. put up a force barrier to contain the explosion.

Naruto licked some of it off his face. "Mmm. Green apple flavor."'

"Thank you, guys," Courtney said.

J.D. answered, "No problem."

He landed and placed Courtney on the ground.

"All right," J.D. said. "Jasmine is up next. It says that she's afraid of being in small places."

"She's claustrophobic," Naruto explained.

"I saw her being taken that way," Courtney added, pointing to the southeast.

"That's where we're going," J.D. announced, "let's go!"

They headed southeast onto the lake's docks, where they spotted a small diving sphere guarded by Fang the amphibious shark.

"I got this one," J.D. announced. "Let's just say I owe Fang a favor." He whistles. "Hey, Fang. I have got a treat for you."

J.D. held up Scott, who was bound and gagged, and Fang was ecstatic.

"Enjoy your meat," J.D. said as he threw him into the lake, and Fang swam up to him and shook his hand.

J.D. responded, "You're welcome, Fang.

He dove back in and chased Scott, and everyone laughed.

Naruto commented, "That was funny, but where did you find Scott?"

"He tried to swim back to the island as I was testing out what my tail could do," J.D. explained.

He pulled the diving sphere up by its rope, but just as he did, the line snapped, and it sank to the bottom of the lake.

"Oh no," cried J.D.

He dove in and began swimming after it. He made another discovery.

"Hey! I can breathe underwater. Cool! It must be because of my tail."

He swam down, opened the hatch, and grabbed Jasmine. "Are you okay, Jasmine?"

She gave him a thumbs up.

"Wow," J.D. exclaimed, "I can breathe underwater now."

They make their way to the surface.

They emerged, and Jasmine was coughing. They got onto the docks.

"Thank goodness you're okay, Jasmine," Naruto remarked.

"Thanks to J.D. mate," Jasmine said with an Australian accent.

"OK, that's 4 out of 12," J.D. said. "Let's look for Bridgette. From what I remember, she is afraid of being alone. So she's out in the woods."

"Let's find her," Jasmine proposed.

"Right," J.D. agreed.

They entered the forest and found Bridgette sitting by herself there, terrified.

"There she is," Naruto pointed out.

"Wait," J.D. interjected, "it's too easy."

When a trap snapped, he threw a stick and saw that the area around her was covered in bear traps.

J.D. said, "Bear traps."

Jasmine added, "Chris sure knows how to endanger people's lives."

"That's why I love this show," J.D. remarked, "Naruto, you go fly over and save her."

"Got it," Naruto said.

Naruto stretched his wings and flew out to her, picking her up in bridal fashion and carried her over to them.

Bridgette said, "Thanks, Naruto.

"You're welcome, Bridge," Naruto responded.

"All right, now let's find Mike and Zoey," J.D. suggested.

"Help!" shouted Zoey. "Can anyone hear me? Help!"

"We found Zoey," J.D. announced, "WHERE ARE YOU!?"

"Over here!" yelled Zoey.

"It's coming from down there," Jasmine remarked, pointing to a clearing down the path.

"I'm sinking!" screamed Zoey, "Hurry!"

J.D. gasped and said, "COME ON!"

They all ran down the path and saw Zoey waist-deep in quicksand.

"Okay, Zoey stay calm and don't move," J.D. said.

"I got this," Gwen said.

Gwen unveiled a hidden secret. She spread wings that were as black as the night and we gasped.

J.D. asked, "Gwen? You're an angel?"

"I'll explain later," Gwen replied.

She flew out to Zoey, grabbed her hand, and pulled her out.

J.D. yelled, "Way to go, Gwen!"

Gwen carried Zoey over and set her down.

"Thank you, Gwen," Zoey responded, "that was awesome!"

"You're welcome, Zoey," Gwen said.

"Gwen, that was amazing," Naruto exclaimed.

"I agree, Gwen, those black wings are perfect for you," Courtney added.

Gwen replied, "Thanks, Courtney."

"So you're afraid of quicksand, Zoey?" J.D. asked.

"Yeah," Zoey nodded, "it's a complicated story."

"We'll have to hear it later," J.D. said, "let's find Mike now."

"I saw him being taken into the boat house," Zoey added.

"All right," J.D. responded, "let's go."

They ran to the boathouse, and J.D. kicked the door down, releasing a bucket filled with acid.

"Sulfuric acid," J.D. said, "That was close."

They see Mike in a padded cell, wearing a straitjacket, gagged, and surrounded by mutated gophers.

"Oh man," J.D. gasped.

Zoey ran and kicked the gophers away from Mike, and they fled.

"Zoey, that was incredible," J.D. exclaimed.

"Thank you," Zoey replied.

J.D. unties Mike's straitjacket, and he pulls the bandana off his mouth.

Mike answered, "Thanks, guys."

J.D. responded, "No problem Mike. You're afraid of insane asylums?"

"I'd rather not talk about it," Mike replied.

"That's okay, man," J.D. remarked. "Let's go find Alan right now." We're going to need Manitoba Smith's adventuring skills."

J.D. pulls out a Fedora hat and places it on Mike's head, which causes him to gasp.

"No problem mate," Manitoba Smith replied with an Australian accent. "Leave it to me." He sniffs the air. "He's this way."

They followed him and found Alan surrounded by bald squirrels.

"Squirrels?" J.D. asked.

The squirrels saw them and they shot lasers out of their eyes. J.D. shielded them in a force field.

"Squirrels with Laser Vision?" J.D. wondered. "Weird. But cool."

"I believe it," Naruto responded.

"I've got this one, mates," Manitoba Smith assured them.

He jumped out, dodging all the fire from the squirrels, then leaped in and grabbed Alan.

"Hold on tight, mate," Manitoba Smith advised.

"Okay," Alan nodded.

Manitoba Smith climbed a tree, and a squirrel fired lasers at a tree branch, causing them both to fall. Manitoba Smith landed on the ground, and J.D. caught Alan.

"You all right, bud?" J.D. asked.

"Yeah," Alan nodded, "that was awesome!"

Deep in Mike's subconscious, all of his personalities got together.

"Do you feel it?" Manitoba Smith asked. "The Malevolent One! He is coming!"

A picture of Mike catches fire, releasing an evil personality. Mal was his name, and he was PURE EVIL.

Outside, J.D. senses Mal's presence.

"Guys, I sense an evil force inside Mike," J.D. warned. "I'm going to pull it out of him."

He used his powers to summon Mal, who manifested on the physical plane.

As they all let out gasps, Mike awoke. He spotted Mal.

Mike gasped, "You!"

"At your disservice," Mal answered with an evil chuckle.

"But I got rid of you in Juvie!" Mike argued.

"You were in Juvenile Detention, Mike?" J.D. asked.

"Yeah," Mike answered. "This creep was making me do all kinds of terrible things, and he was running the place. His name is Mal, and he is my pure evil personality."

"That's horrible," J.D. replied.

"I can't believe this clod was the one making you call all the shots," Naruto exclaimed.

Courtney remarked, "This guy must be pure evil."

"Yeah," Izzy agreed, "he smells like rotten meat and bat guano."

J.D. agreed, saying, "That's a good analysis."

Dawn arrived. "When we got here, I saw Mike had a dark aura around him. This was purely evil."

"That's this guy Dawn," J.D. replied.

Dawn stared at him and noticed that he was fully surrounded by a pitch-black aura.

"His aura is pure evil," Dawn replied.

"It's as though we're up against the Devil himself," Naruto mused.

"No kidding," Mike replied.

"Enough chitter chatter," Mal growled.

"Let's dance," J.D. said before punching him in the face and sending him crashing into a tree.

Mike felt that punch.

"OW!" screamed Mike, "GEEZ THAT REALLY HURT!"

J.D. gasped. "We can't hurt him or it will hurt Mike. They are somehow connected. Wait. I've got it! Mike, you are the only one who can stop him. He may be a part of you, but you don't need this jerk anymore. You must let go of the past and destroy the monster that your own body created."

"You're right, J.D," Mike declared. "It's time to move on."

Mike concentrated hard, and in his mind, he and his personalities were in front of a strange button.

"What is this button?" Mike wondered.

"It's a reset button," explained Vito with an Italian accent.

"You have to press it," Manitoba Smith urged, "and we can all stop Mal together."

"Once you press it, we will all be one with you," Svetlana added with a Russian accent.

Mike was going to press it when he stopped. "I... I just can't. If pressing this thing is gonna get rid of you guys then I can't do it."

"Hey, don't worry about it," Vito encouraged.

"In a way," Manitoba Smith added, "we'll all still be a part of you."

"It's worth it to stop Mal," Svetlana said.

"No matter what," Vito assured him, "you'll always have us in your heart."

"All right guys, enough blubbering," Chester murmured. "Let's get this over with."

They all placed their hands on Mike's.

Mike added, "Thank you guys, thank you."

They pressed the button, and Mike was completely restored in a blinding flash of light.

"We are now one," Mike announced, "thank you J.D."

Mal was starting to dim outside.

Mal asked, "What's happening?"

"You're fading away, Mal," Mike noted.

"What?" Mal questioned. "No! Do not do this! No one will ever cross paths with me around. I am a part of you."

"Yep," Mike agreed. "A part of me that I don't need anymore. Goodbye, Mal."

J.D. added, "Have a good time in the Netherworld."

"No!" screamed Mal. "It's my time! MIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNEEEEEEEE!"

Mal faded away, never to be seen again.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish," J.D. remarked.

"Yeah," Naruto agreed.

J.D. asked, "How are you feeling, Mike?"

"Better than ever, J.D.," Mike replied. "We are all one. I have all of my personalities strengths and abilities in one person."

"Awesome!" exclaimed J.D., "Way to go buddy!"

"Oh, Mike!" squealed Zoey, "I'm so happy for you!"

"Thank you, Zoey," Mike said.

"I'm sorry I punched you, man," J.D. apologized.

"That's okay," Mike said.

"Let's find the others," J.D. said.

Naruto replied, "Okay.

They ran and found Sammy facing Amy in the swamp, which was covered in slime and algae.

"You always treated me like dirt, Amy, and I won't tolerate it anymore!" Sammy screamed.

"I've always been the superior twin, and I will always be better than you!" Amy argued.

Zoey swooped in and kicked Amy in the face, causing her to crash into a tree.

"Are you okay, Sammy?" asked Zoey.

"Yes, thanks to you, Zoey," Sammy replied.

J.D. picked up Amy and opened a portal leading to the Yukon. "I think you need a nice cooldown."

He threw Amy in, and the portal closed.

Shawn had arrived. "Guys! Are you all okay?"

J.D. responded, "We were about to look for you, Shawn."

"Chris sent robot zombies after me, and I beat them all," Shawn explained.

"Good work, buddy," J.D. replied.

Shawn said, "Thank you, man."

"Let's find Ella," J.D. proposed. "If I'm not mistaken, she's in that castle tower up there on the high cliff." He pointed to the high cliff.

"Looks like it," Naruto remarked.

"Let's go!" shouted J.D.

They all ran up the cliff hill to the tower, which was rather tall.

"I think I know what Ella is afraid of," J.D. added, "being trapped in a tower like all those princesses from fairy tales I like."

Alan responded, "I think you're right."

"Let me handle this one," Gwen says as she spreads her black wings and flies up to the castle window.

"Ella, are you okay?" Gwen asked.

"I'm fine, Gwen," Ella responded, "I have my animal friends to keep me company."

Gwen replied, "That's great, I came to get you down."

"Thank you, Gwen," Ella said.

Gwen takes Ella's hand in hers, and they descend and land.

"Great job, Gwen," J.D. acknowledged.

An air horn blew.

"The Atomic Owls win the challenge!" Chris announced.

They all cheered.

At the campfire ceremony, Chris was ready to hand out the marshmallows.

"Before we begin, I have an announcement," Chris began. The Atomic Owls were incredibly awesome in today's challenge! The producer called and said that they loved it so much that they will put it in the Legacy of Total Drama. Great job, guys."

"Thank you, Chris," J.D. replied, "I'm glad my idea was such a huge success."

"You're welcome, J.D.," Chris continued, "and now on to the marshmallows."

Everyone but Leonard received a Marshmallow, and Leonard was hurled.

They settled in at their cabin, and J.D. stamped Leonard's face.

"You were all fantastic today," J.D. commented.

Alan praised J.D., saying, "You were fantastic yourself."

"Thanks, bud," J.D. said.

He took out his laptop and called Lincoln.

"Hey J.D," Lincoln answered.

"Hey Lincoln," J.D. replied, "today was fantastic."

"We saw the whole thing, and you guys were incredible!" Lincoln added.

"Yeah!" Lana agreed, "It was awesome!"

"Thanks, guys," J.D. replied.

"We saw your black wings, Gwen, and they are beautiful," Lincoln added.

"Thanks, Lincoln," Gwen replied.

"How did you get those wings, Gwen?" J.D. asked.

"My father is from Earth, and my mom is from the planet Havania," Gwen explained. "The Havanian people are an incredible race of peaceful angels who are extremely beautiful. I was born half human, half Havanian."

"That's awesome," J.D. replied. "Havania is a beautiful planet. I looked it up, and it's a paradise."

"That's incredible, Gwen," Lincoln said. "You're a hybrid."

"That's the right way to put it, Lincoln," Gwen responded.

"That is incredible," Laney exclaimed.

"It sure is," J.D. remarked.

"Those rescues you all did were awesome guys," Lincoln added.

"Thanks, Lincoln," Courtney said.

"Also, Mike, I had no idea you had an evil personality that was controlling you the whole time," Lincoln added.

"Yeah," Mike agreed. "Mal was the source of all my suffering and misfortune. He was also the reason I ended up in Juvie."

"That's terrible," Laney replied, "but I'm glad you're cured."

"Thanks, Laney," Mike said.

"You're welcome, Mike," Laney replied.

"I'm sorry Leonard was eliminated," Lucy expressed regret, "but I love all the magic you taught him."

"It's okay, Lucy," J.D. reassured her, "but you know what they say: Life goes on."

"Sigh," Lucy agreed, "that's true."

"This turned out to be an awesome challenge for all of us, and it was a huge success for the Total Drama Legacy," J.D. concluded.

"That's what we saw and heard," Lincoln replied. "Way to go, guys."

"Thank you, Lincoln," Dawn smiled.

"It was an awesome challenge, though," Shawn added.

"I agree," J.D. admitted, "it's been a long day."

"I can tell," Lincoln answered. "See you guys next week."

J.D. replied, "Bye guys."

The call clicks off and they hit the hay.
