Chapter 9

It was around six in the morning when Clay started to wake up. His whole body felt amazing, but stiff. Him and Jason had sex all night last night and they didn't stop until roughly three hours ago. He should still be sleeping, but his body was programmed to wake up at six so he could go for a run before heading into work. He was pretty good at operating on just four hours of sleep, but he normally got a lot of sleep when he did something with a great deal of exercise. And last night certainly counted as exercise, a lot of exercise. Clay looked over and saw that Jason was still passed out beside him. He very slowly moved out of the bed and grabbed his clothes. He didn't want Jason to wake up. He was not prepared for the awkward morning after. He had epic sex with his boss. He needed time to process it all. After taking a quick shower, Clay got dressed and headed out.

He was instantly getting into his car and headed off for his favorite place to go running. He needed to clear his head and to work out his sore muscles. Running always did that for him. If there was one thing Clay needed now more than ever it was to clear his head. He still could smell Jason all over him, even though he had taken a shower and scrubbed at his skin. He had no idea why Jason's scent was lingering. He had never had this issue before and even smelling it on his skin was driving him crazy. His heat was on its last day and normally that just meant he was bitchy and tired, but today he wasn't either of those things. He was horny though. He felt like he could have sex for another few hours. Clay had to admit, the sex was earth shattering. He had absolutely nothing to compare it to, but even he knew it was amazing sex. Clay wasn't too sure what he was going to do now moving forward with his other heats. What they would be like. Maybe he wouldn't have to have sex again for a few years or maybe he would want it even more now that he knew how good it felt. It was something he wasn't going to be able to discover until next month when it hit him all over again. All Clay could do was take it one month at a time and see how it goes.

The trick was going to be, he wasn't certain he would want to have sex with anyone else. The thought of someone other than Jason touching him made his skin crawl, which was weird because it never bothered him before. Clay didn't understand why now it would bother him if someone else touched him. It didn't make any sense, but he figured maybe it was just a side effect from him and Jason having sex, that it would pass. Clay was hoping it would pass because then it would hopefully make things a lot less awkward at work. He had no idea if this was something Jason had done often, slept with people he worked with, but Clay was not looking to make that into a habit. Even if it was safe for people to know that he had Omega traits he still didn't want to be having sex with people he worked with. The second Clay arrived at his favorite place he was parking and getting out, he walked into the woods before he looked around to make sure he was alone. Once he was confident it was all clear, he removed his bracelets and his clothes before he shifted into wolf form and took off deeper into the woods.

It was just after eight when Jason started to wake up. The first thing he noticed was that he was not asleep in his own bed, but Clay's. He had fallen asleep over at Clay's after the last time they had finished having sex. Jason took a deep breath in and he couldn't help the soft moan as the scent of Clay flooded his nose. Jason still couldn't get over how incredibly delicious Clay smelled like. The smell was enough to make him hard and Jason doubted he would ever get over how amazing it felt to be with Clay. He had been with plenty of people, human and Omega, but none of them had ever made him feel like Clay had. It wasn't even that Clay was a guy, Jason had been with other male Omegas before and even with them at the peak of their heat, they never felt anywhere close to as good as Clay had.

Jason had no idea what any of this meant, and he was not about to start investigating it. Clay was his brother, his subordinate, he was not going to be making a habit of having sex with him. This was a one time thing. Clay was in heat and in desperate need of having sex. His heartbeat was struggling and he was not going to survive the pain for much longer. The sex was strictly done so he could save his life, that was all it was. Jason moved to look over his shoulder, but Clay was not there. He reached out and noticed that the spot was cold, so Clay had been awake for a while now. Jason let out a sigh before he pushed himself up and grabbed his clothes. He headed out of the bedroom once he slipped on his boxers, but to his surprise he was alone. Clay wasn't here. Jason had a feeling he knew where Clay would have gone, so he made quick work of getting showered and dressed before he headed out. After making a quick stop at his place so he could put on some clean clothes, he headed out to where he knew Clay enjoyed running.

Jason wasn't certain that Clay would be out in the woods, but he figured after last night he might want the peace that came with running in wolf form. Jason made good time getting to the woods and he saw that Clay's truck was here. He parked next to Clay's before he got out and started to head into the woods. Clay's spot was easy to find because he wasn't wearing his bracelets, so all Jason had to do was follow the scent of Clay's bracelets. He saw that Clay had his clothes piled up neatly with his boots and his bracelets tucked into his boots. Jason knew that Clay wouldn't be far. He started to whistle as loud as he could in morse code letting Clay know that he needed to speak with him. With Clay's hearing Jason knew that he would come running back. He wasn't confident how long Clay had been out here, but he figured it was at least an hour with his spot in the bed being cold. If Jason was being honest with himself he did have to admit he didn't like that he woke up without Clay beside him. The Alpha in him wanted Clay to be next to him. He wanted the opportunity to speak with him, to touch him should they both be in the mood. Jason knew he was going to have to get his inner wolf in check, because Clay was also an Alpha and he was not his to dominate.

Jason looked over when he heard someone running. He couldn't help the warmth that spread all throughout his chest when he saw Clay in his wolf form. He was breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking. Clay walked over to his clothes and Jason bent down as he spoke.

"Can I?"

Clay looked over at him and tilted his head slightly, clearly confused by what Jason was trying to say.

"Can I touch you?" Jason clarified.

Jason couldn't help it, he just needed to touch him, to feel his fur. When Clay was standing he was three feet tall and he was long, close to six feet from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. He was also pure white with long hair. He looked fluffy and he was big. All of his weight put him at a big size for a wolf. He was bigger than Cerb that was for sure. Clay gave a soft and short growl before he sat down and Jason was taking that to mean yes. Jason reached out slowly and placed his hand on the side of Clay's neck. The second he touched him he couldn't help the smile. He felt so soft, it was almost like he was touching a cloud.

"Jesus, you're so soft. Does it feel weird when I touch you in this form?"

Clay gave a small shake of his head and Jason went and started to pet him like he would with Cerb. Clay instinctively turned his head into Jason's touch. He had never been petted before, but he was enjoying the touch that Jason was giving him.

"You know, for a big bad wolf, you're pretty sweet." Jason said with a teasing smirk.

Clay in return snarled and bared his teeth to Jason, causing him to chuckle. "Yes, I know. You're also ferocious Sunshine. It's just after eight-thirty, we gotta get going into work and I was hoping we could talk real quick first."

Clay gave a nod and he stood up. Jason moved back and turned around so he wouldn't see Clay naked, even though he desperately wanted to. After a moment he turned back around when he heard that Clay was getting his boots on.

"What do you want to talk about?" Clay asked, as he finished getting dressed.

"I wanted to talk to you about last night. I didn't want to go into work not knowing how you felt. I know yesterday was intense and a big deal for you and not just because it was your first time. You conquered a huge fear yesterday and I wanted to check in with you."

"Um, ya, ya it was intense. I didn't expect for the pain to be that bad. I'm good though." Clay answered, as he moved back further away from Jason.

"Ok, then why are you moving away from me?" Jason asked, gently.

The very last thing Jason wanted was for Clay to feel awkward or scared of him. He didn't want him to be afraid or uncomfortable around him.

"It's just um…" Clay cleared his throat as he continued. "Your scent is still really tempting."

"Mine's not the only one that smells good." Jason agreed and Clay looked down at his wrists and realised that he hadn't put his bracelets back on.

"Sorry, I forgot." Clay said, as he went and picked up his bracelets. He couldn't believe he had forgotten to put them back on. He never did, but being around Jason it felt so natural to not be wearing them.

"It's ok, you don't have to wear them around me. And you don't have to worry about me not being able to keep my hands to myself. Last night, your heartbeat was erratic and it was getting weaker. You needed the pain to stop and the only way to make that happen was through sex. It doesn't have to change anything between us. And I won't bring it up, I promise."

Clay let out a soft breath before he spoke. "I appreciate it staying between us. It's not that I'm ashamed or anything, I just don't like people knowing my business. And I don't want the team to think differently of me. I'm not the team's bitch."

That was what Clay was worried about, terrified of. That the guys would think that he was theirs to use whenever they felt the need to. He didn't want this one time with Jason to change their dynamic and have them believing that he was the team's whore now. He was not going to tolerate it nor was he going to listen to any snide comments.

"Whoa, hold up. Those are your piece of shit father's words, not mine and certainly not the guys. No one sees you as the team's bitch. No one looks at you like that. I can't even begin to imagine what happened to you growing up, what horrors you saw and I would love to have the chance to talk to you about it, but I know I have to wait until you are ready. I can tell you though with complete confidence that you are the future of Bravo. You are the one that will take over as Bravo One when my time comes to step down. No one sees you as some weak little Omega. We all know you are an Alpha and we all know how rare and special you are. None of the guys' opinion of you would change, I give you my word on that Little Alpha."

The strength and sincerity to his voice instantly had Clay feeling calmer. He wasn't sure why he believed him so strongly, but he did. He could feel how deeply Jason's words meant to him and that was helping to calm him down as well. Clay had never really felt any sort of a connection to anyone before, but apparently he had developed one from sleeping with Jason. Clay knew he should be bothered by it, but he actually wasn't. There was a weird sort of comfort to being more connected to Jason, a comfort Clay had never had before. Clay thought that maybe this was what Jason meant when he said the team was his pack. That maybe this was what it felt like to have a pack, someone there for you to watch your back no matter what.

"We um… we should get going. We have to be at work soon." Clay said, as he tried to get his emotions back under lock and key.

"Ya, come on. I don't know about you but I could use some serious breakfast." Jason said with a warm smile.

"Oh you have no idea." Clay said with a smile. He was starving and he was already thinking about what he was going to pick up for breakfast on his way into work. He was hoping that today would go well and him and Jason would be able to work together without anything that happened between them getting in the way. Clay just wanted everything to go back to normal. He wanted to be on Bravo, just one of the guys and hopefully that would still be possible.
