Chapter 5

Escaping from the Dungeon

Back in the Goblin King's castle, Shaggy and Scooby were trying to break free from their chains before the goblins came back for them and gave them the axe. Shaggy and Scooby tried and tried but no matter how hard they tried to pull, they could not break free and to make matters worse they heard footsteps approaching the door.

"Looks like we're about to lose our heads Scoob." Shaggy said in a worried voice.

Scooby gulped just before the door bust opened. The same three goblins from before appeared only this time the axe had troll dark red blood on it, slowly dripping onto the cold floor. Shaggy's and Scooby's pupils shrunk in fear.

"Get them, boys." The executor said to his assistants.

The skinny and pot-bellied goblin chuckled as they came into the room to get the man and his dog.

"Ssssay your prayssss mutt." the pot-bellied goblin said.

"Yeah, because it's the end of the line for y'all." the hillbilly goblin said.

"Rpear rs, rlease." Scooby begged with tears in his eyes.

"It'ssss no usssse boyssss."

"Yay ug-ha, y'all gonna have your heads rounding."

"Like don't we get a trial first?" Shaggy begged.

"No." the executioner coldly replied with a dark chuckle.

Shaggy and Scooby gulped as the other two goblins came closer, but just as the guards uncuffed the prisoners, something massive broke through the ceiling. As the dust, the five looked to see a dragon gargoyle with sharp long stone teeth and claws, two huge upwards pointing horns on its head, a club-like tail and two enormous wings. It brought its large head down and roared, scaring the goblins who ran away as fast as their legs could carry them, screaming all the way. The gargoyle turned its attention to the man and his dog.

"Run Scoob!" Shaggy shouted.

The cowardly duo exited the room and run down the hallway with the massive stone creature hot on their trail. They run in and out of doorways, with serval guards running for their lives the moment they saw the beast, who was roaring ferociously. Shaggy and Scooby ran and ran until they came to a dead end. The gargoyle slowly came closer and closer until it reached the shaking duo and then the gargoyle... licked their faces and began panting like a dog.

"Huh? The two looked at each other in confusion as the gargoyle wagged it's tail.

"Thank goodness you two are safe." a voice called out.

The two looked up to see three fairies fly in from a high window.

"Good boy." Tiddlywink said as she patted the gargoyle on the head.

"Rou rnow rim?" Scooby asked.

"Sure do. We're the ones who brought him to life." Sparkplug said.

"Like what do you mean?" Shaggy questioned.

"Well we saw you two locked up and we wanted to help but the chains are magic-proof, so instead we found a gargoyle and brought him to life to save you." Tiddlywink stated.

"In hindsight, we should have told the plan beforehand." Sparkplug admitted.

"Rnderstant rf rhe right." Scooby stated in a deadpan voice.

"But anyway I think you'll like this surprise very much." Honeybee hinted pointing to the window.

Shaggy and Scooby looked up to the newly meaned broomstick flying in and landing next to them.

"Broomy!" they both joyfully said. "Thank you."

"Don't mention." Sparkplug said.

"You're welcome. Now hurry, who knows how long you have before too late." Tiddlywink said.

"Right." Shaggy and Scooby nodded. The duo jumped onto the broom and flew off into the night sky.

"Good Luck!" Honeybee called out.

"Come on Scoob, let's go save our friends!" Shaggy said to his best friend.

They flew over the supernatural world as fast as Broomy could go until they came back into their world. Now all they had to do was find their friends and stop Krudsky.
