Tracy Island TAG verse, 4th day since disappearance of the terrible two 03:30
This was the fourth day since Alan and Gordons disappearance. They could not wait anymore! With the help of all their allies, they thought they had a way of finally getting them back! It was time to get down to business. Usually, people generally slept at three in the morning. This morning was different! The Tracy family was getting their youngest two back! Refusing to waste even a second more than they had to!
All the last four days of frantic preparations had finally come together.
had taken assistance from the GDF, calling in old debts, of which there were a multitude. Kayo had interrogated all the scientist and other parties involved together with Captain Wayne Rigby, a GDF operative. The GDF helped with the time and resource consuming task of finding and arresting the responsible parties. All scientific information were relayed to Tracy Island, primarily to Brains and EOS who worked relentlessly on making sense of it.
Lady Penelope and Mr Parker were searching for the parties responsible of funding the scientific project, that ended in disaster for their close friends. Any new clues were relayed to Tracy Island. Collecting all the clues in one secure and accessible place. Arrests were made by the GDF when needed, and it was needed a lot! No one was getting away with messing with their beloved friends. If Sherbet, was privately encouraged, to bite the responsible parties in retaliation, nobody would have to know.
Brains was astoundingly more focused then ever before. He was working like a mad man. Or rather, a man who was outraged at someone messing with his found family! Brains was working on building a machine, to bring them to the world they had lost their brothers too. Firstly, by digitally reconstructing the one that caused the accident, from the blueprints EOS had managed to hack into. Secondly, by analysing how it could have happened. Lastly, by using the gathered data, to build a new machine. That would help them to reach Alan and Gordon, as well as bring them home again.
While Brains primary focus was on the hardware of the world hopping machine, the software was extremely important for it to work properly. He delegated the majority of this task to John and EOS, who were master programmers. The most difficult part, for John and EOS, were to determine the exact universe Alan and Gordon had been sent too. As well as making and calibrating a beacon, to help them get back to their own universe.
John and EOS decided that they could bring her portable disk with them. Just like they had done in the seed lab, they saved in the arctic. If something would go wrong, EOS would hopefully, be able to use her homebase on Thunderbird five, as a honing signal in their own world to guide them home. EOS and John configured Thunderbird five to do just that. Also making a thorough back up of EOS, just in case something was to go wrong. World traveling was a new unexplored field of science after all.
Virgil and Scott helped Brains with the heavy lifting of building and welding of the machine together. Following his instructions to the letter. MAX was also a big help with this, as usual.
Virgil oversaw thinking about, what they would have to bring medical wise, while Scott focused on their equipment and gear. Considering everything they could possibly need; the caveat was that it had to be carried on their bodies. They couldn't bring everything, as it would slow them down while moving. But they did not want to miss anything that could help their brothers! Virgil and Scott used each other as a ball plank, to throw ideas against. In the end, they had three full backpacks and wore full international rescue gear. Striving to be ready for all possibilities.
Scott, Virgil and John were all going to get their brothers. No amount of arguing could talk them out of it. Kayo was barely managed to be talked into staying, by protecting the island and the machine that was their only ticket back home. The fact that someone had to be able to go after them, in case the first plan failed, finally made her relent.
Grandma forced everyone to take short breaks for naps, during the four nightmarish days without the two youngest Tracy brothers. She knew that it was a lost cause, to get any of them to sleep an entire night, with their brothers missing. But, without any sleep at all, they would make mistakes! They could not afford any mistakes with stakes this high. Following Grandma Tracy's sound logic, they grudgingly listened to her.
She also made sure everyone ate and drank. Not her own food, mind you! She was trying to help them, not hinder them with stomach aches. Making sure everyone had enough fuel and fluids in them, to function as best as possible during their most trying circumstances.
They all had worked nonstop for four days. Disregarding the few short breaks for obligatory naps, curtesy of Grandma Sally. Do not test her! She will sedate you, as Scott found out the hard way!
Their current existence was a constant between working and worrying. Their hard efforts had finally paid off! The world traveling machine was ready! The main machine would stay in their own world. Needing a lot of energy to power. Brains had hooked it up to the islands main power source. Brains had made five devises, one for every brother, that worked as remote controls, to open the portal between the worlds. They strictly only needed one. But Brains would not settle for any less redundancies. They were all going to come back home! No matter what! Brains did everything he could to make sure of it! Brain had made the device's compatible with EOS, just in case something unforeseen would occur.
The three oldest Tracy boys had a backpack each, containing different essentials and medical supplies. Ready for anything they could encounter. They had chosen to hook up and activate the world hopping machine on the beach. If something went wrong, they would not destroy their home, just a part of their island.
It was three thirty AM when they started the machine.
To the rest of the family's apprehension Scott, Virgil and John all insisted on going. If their friends and family did not have as much trust in them as they did, they would be terrified of losing all the Tracy brothers in one fell swoop. Now they just stood sombrely waiting on the beach, watching them enter the unknown. Hope growing in their hearts that the next time they met, their family would be whole again.
After twenty minutes of anxiously waiting after the machine's activation something finally happened. The red light indicating that it wasn't ready yet started blinking. The portal started as a ball of concentrated lightning. Slowly growing. It took about twenty-five minutes from start to finish, for the portal to be fully opened and ready. Red indication light finally turning green.
Brains ultimately gave the signal that it was safe to go.
The three brothers took each other's hands and stepped through the portal. Holding on to each other tight. Sharing the fear of letting go. Refusing to lose anymore brothers.
Suddenly they had come out on the other end of the portal. The three brothers were clutching onto each other's hands, with such a death tight grip, that their knuckles turned white. Opening their eyes, they quickly found out that they were still on a beach. The beach was similar to their own, but still very different. Not that they could see so much in the dark.
Turning around, looking behind them, they saw that the portal they had just stepped through closing completely. John let out a small incredulous laugh that quickly spread to his brothers. They had done the impossible. They travelled to another world. Now they just had to find their lost siblings. It was suddenly looking a lot more possible to achieve.
Before the oldest Tracy brothers had time to get their bearings, they were interrupted by a harsh shout.
Tracy Island, movie verse 03:58, Tracy family POV movie verse
"Hey! Who are you? What are you doing here?" Jeff shouted at the intruders. Furious at the blatant nerve to invade their home. Taking a closer look, he saw that they were three young men, standing side by side on the beach, clad in uniforms. The lack of light making it hard to make out more details.
Jeff now realised, that they should have taken the extra time to bring the strong flashlights. Hindsight is always twenty-twenty. Jeff and his boys' eyes were blinded by the flash of light, the intruders had appeared with. The little night vision they gotten used to before during their search, were gone because of it. Hopefully, their eyes would soon get used to the darkness again, able to make out a bit more details.
"Well, I guess we now know that the intruder alarm works! Even if it went off a bit early!" Gordon let his thoughts slip out.
Only to be rewarded with a slap to his arm by John "Shush! This is so, not the time Gordon!".
The intruders looked around. They were wearing big backpacks on their shoulders. "Why? Had they come expecting to stay?" Gordon thought, still confused.
"Stay where you are! Answer the questions!" Scott shouted. Ignoring his brothers little spat. He could lecture them later about proper conduct around hostiles.
A voice, sounding scarily similar to Scott's own, finally responded "Please stay calm! We mean you no harm!".
The other two intruders, had huddled together behind him, talking with each other. Seemingly distracted by something else. Completely ignoring the tense standoff occurring in front of them. John could only make out some of the words, the intruders whispered to each other. The words were "Find them! Scanning now! Hurry up! It doesn't work! Why not! Make it work! I am trying! Wait, she has an idea!".
Jeff disregarded the hushed whispers, as he angrily continued focusing on the man speaking. Aiming single-mindedly, on getting answers from the threat to his family "Then answer our questions! Who are you? Why are you invading our home?".
Jeff presumed that the person in the front who spoke first, was the leader of the group. Jeff was somewhat surprised, when one of the men behind him stepped forward, answering instead. "Was that black hair?" Jeff thought while squinting, his eyes getting a bit better at seeing in the dark, after being blinded by the flash of light.
The black-haired intruder answered for the first time, looking a bit confused "Invading? We are not invading anyone!".
Scott stepped in "Then why are you showing up on our private island in the middle of the night. Bringing a blinding lightshow, no less?".
The third and last intruder answered "Oh! Must be an unfortunate side effect! We mean you no harm, we are just looking for some people. The technology we used to get here is experimental at best!".
Gordon angrily shouted "You still haven't told us who you are! Or why you are here! Your excuse of looking for people with experimental technology is not good enough!". He was annoyed at the lack of answers. These people were not acting like the run of the mil bad guys. His intuition, telling him that something was off.
The first intruder answered, sounding defensive and angry "We would never have had to use experimental equipment if there was any other choice!".
Jeff thought that it was disconcerting how much the intruders voice sounded like his own son Scott, before answering "Still doesn't answer our questions! Focus and answer them! Now!".
The black-haired intruder mumbled grumpily "Try staying on topic, on your forth day without real sleep, and we'll see how well you do.".
Scott suspected that they weren't supposed to hear that and filed away the information for later. Sass never worked well with his father. Scott decided to ask one question at a time "Why are you here?". Hoping for a better response.
The man that sounded eerily like him answered this time "We are looking for two of our people. We have reason to believe that they ended up here during an accident.".
The black-haired intruder seemed to remember the previous question "We mean you no harm. We only want to find our people. I believe at least one of them is seriously injured. He is still a child! The other one, who tried to save him, is also still a teenager! Please, we just need to bring them back home!" he pleaded.
Jeff replied, "Why should we believe you? Who are you?".
The last intruder, with the lightest hair, had fiddled with some kind of device on his arm suddenly exclaimed "I have found their suits signals! They are located here, somewhere on this island! EOS is trying to contact them now!". He sounded overjoyed. His companions looked extremely relieved.
"Oh, thank god!" The one sounding spookily like Scott exclaimed. Collapsing to his knees in the sand. He was soon joined by his companions who dashed forward, practically tackling the first one into a hug.
Jeff, Scott and Gordon were terribly confused.
John, on the other hand, had a suspicious glint in his eyes. His brilliant mind slowly connecting the pieces of the puzzle. Too many things were adding up. The information gathered spending an entire day with Gords and Al, connected perfectly with the clues the men were currently giving him. Painting a picture with every word coming out of their mouth.
Clues like EOS, looking for two teenagers, using experimental technology without any other choice and not sleeping for four days. John also suspected that the intruders could be wearing the same kind of suits that Al and Gords wore. With the darkness of the night, it was hard to be sure of that last clue. All in all, John was ninety-nine percent certain, that he had put the pieces together correctly.
John asked the intruders, while slowly walking towards them, kneeling in the sand before them to get to their eye level "You are their brothers, aren't you?".
Surprised faces, from both opposing parties turned to him, as John continued "Alan and Gordon Tracy's brothers. Am I correct?".
"Yes! Are they here?" The red-haired man asked, voice shaking with emotion.
"Yes! Are they okay?" The black-haired man questioned, seemingly terrified of the answer.
"Please, tell us that they are safe!" The brown-haired man requested, pure desperation shining in his eyes.
Johns' family had walked up to them, looking stunned at the revelation.
"They are here, and they are both alive!" John answered their questions.
"I thought we had lost them forever!" The ginger-haired man, who was most likely John's counterpart, confessed in a silent whisper.
"I was afraid that we would never see them again!" The black haired one confessed, just as quiet as his brother.
"Please take us to them!" The brown-haired one pleaded, tears threatening to spill over the corners of his waterfilled eyes.
John turned around and looked at his family, while smiling, saying "What do you say? Shall we reunite the Tracy family?" immensely enjoying the shocked look on their faces.
After a few more shell-shocked seconds, Jeff at last, had the current crazy situation sink in. Jeff considered the situation slowly, trying to see it from all angles. They men standing on his island were not intruders. They did not want to hurt his friends and family. They were a version of his sons, here to rescue their brothers. While taking a deep breath, Jeff realised, that he already had come to a decision.
"Yeah sons, let us reunite the Tracy's!". Jeff said, with a tired smile on his face. He secretly thought that he was getting too old for this.
