A warrior's spirit lost stories
Me: ok I believe two more stories will do for now. Tabitha this one's for you.
Tabitha: Me?
Me: yes it'll be mostly about you and your sister but we will keep it in third person if you wish.
Tabitha: fine by me, so let's get on with.
Me: you don't wanna waste any time huh?
The young queens sister.
3rd POV:
Before the day of the invasion, Tabitha sat at her desk infront of three sibling mages cuffed and surrounded by guards. She was waiting for the final sibling of these three mages. Just then the door opened and her butler percerin came through.
"the fourth has be found and has just arrived madam Charlotte." Percerin announced.
"Bring him in!" Tabitha called. charlotte was her birth name and was now called that by her subjects and other noble, however her friends still called her Tabitha because she introduced herself that way.
"Yes madam." With that Percerin stepped aside and opened the door wide to reveal a young and smiling blond haired noble walking through, when he saw his sibling he immediately rushed in a worried state.
"Are you guys ok?" Damien asked.
"Don't worry about us little brother, stay strong." Jack told his little brother. Damian was about to ask why till Tabitha spoke.
"you three were convicted with serious crimes of treason by aiding my uncle, the sentence is up to me but your skills are highly valued in the kingdom." Tabitha began as she went over their charges.
"We know your highness, if we are going to take the death penalty, please spare Damien." Jeanette pleaded with her head down.
"What?" Damian said in shock as he looked at his siblings.
"Don't worry Damien, we'll be fine." Bleu said smiling. This only made Damien's tears swell from his eyes. Tabitha stood from her desk and walked towards the window.
"Normally I would put your heads on the chopping block or put on the hangman's noose, but your skills are far too valuable for me to toss out." Tabitha began, then she turned to the sibling and pulled out a huge envelope from her jacket.
"But I'm giving you guys a choices… work form me and I'll reduce your sentence to lowering in rank, a reduction of your assets and a few years jail time which will be shortened for good behavior along with probation, all you have to do is this one job." Tabitha said as she waved the envelope. The Siblings looked a bit skeptical at this, it all seems too good to be true. Jeanette was the first to ask since she's the most skeptical out of them all.
"And if we don't accept?" She asked.
"then I'll have to execute you all, seize all of your assets and exile Damien for life out of the kingdoms." Tabitha said coldly. The four siblings looked at each other and whispered to each other, weighing their options, on one hand if they were to take the job, they'll be let of easy with only a few things to loose and be of use to the kingdom again. if not then all three of them will be dead and Damian will have to fend for himself which can be equal to a death sentence, and he'll have nothing. The three looked at Damien who has a pleading look in his eyes and decided their fate.
"We accept your offer on one condition." Bleu proclaimed.
"Name it." Tabitha ordered.
"We Damien to be the leader of our group for this job, he's a capable young man and had a good mind on his head." Jack answered. Tabitha looked at Damien and the other three siblings with a good thought. She looked to the guards and nodded, with this one of the guards took out the keys and unhinged their cuffs and chains. The three siblings rubbed their wrists as the relief from the pain of the tight cuffs has been lifted. Tabitha walked up to the four siblings and handed them the envelope.
"as you may have heard, Tristian along with Germania, the rising sun, and the elves are going to war with Romalia, and we are supporting them from the rear. I'm going to fight in this war personally as Tabitha, and I want you four to go and find the nunnery my twin sister is held." Tabitha said in a serious tone. The sibling knew that their new queen is going to go to war, but the job she's giving them was a very serious one. they are fully aware of the kidnaping of the twin princess, but this is almost considered a suicide mission.
"What do you want us to do?" Damien asked. Tabitha looked at the young boy and gave him his orders.
"I want you to find which nunnery she's staying at, make up a story, and undo the brainwashing they may have done on her. And be sure to show her the evidence, Confessions and everything from the pope and everything after we've captured him." Tabitha explained.
"That would mean visiting every nunnery in the country." Jack exclaimed.
"I don't care if it takes years to find her, if you don't succeed, then who knows what will happen to Gallia and it relations." Tabitha retorted. The siblings realized that they have no other choice but to do it. Damien looked at his new queen and nodded.
"when do we leave?" Damien asked.
"tonight, you're supplies have already been prepared for you." Tabitha explained. And Damien nodded and he and his siblings left. As the four siblings left the offices Percerin walked up to his mistress and decided to asked her.
"Do you think it's wise to hire them Milady? After all they did worked for your uncle didn't they?" Tabitha looked at her butler for a second before answering.
"you have a fair point, which is why I have a contingency plan made in case they decided to turn against me. However their skills are far too valuable so I need them for now." Tabitha answered.
"I see." Percering said skeptically.
"Besides, I'm not ready to forgive my uncle just yet. And if what he said was true, and my sister is being held by the pope as a puppet, then she's the only threat to my rule, even more so than my cousin. Let's hope that we can undo the damage done to her." Tabitha added.
"My… that's very thoughtful of you." Percering said worriedly. That night the four siblings were dressed in commoners cloths and helped each other on the cart as they began to leave the capitol and head for the Romalian border. Jeanette wasn't all too happy about this job but she knew that this will at least save her family from losing everything.
"I don't like this." Jeanette commented.
"what, the mission?" Jack asked
"I just don't like the fact that we are being send to find a kidnaped brainwashed girl who is probably going to kill us the moment she sees us." Jeanette explained.
"yeah but out honor is on the line here, and besides, losing a few assets and a lowering in rank is just a price we have to pay, it's better than nothing." Bleu said trying to deescalate the matter.
"He's right dear sister… my exile is actually a death sentence in its own right?" Damien asked rhetorically. Every noble who have been exiled knew that being exiled means death in its own right, mainly because of starvation and disease along with murder and bad water. Noble's these days have taken their lavish lifestyles for granted and have been corrupted by it through and through, making them lazy and think of nothing but themselves. Now with the Rising sun who's people actually run the government and the Aristocracy has been all but abolished, the nobles are starting to fear the time the commoners will rise up and take their place in governmental issues. A fate that many of the nobles fear will come to them if they didn't do something. Some nobles began to look after their lands allot more these days while others started to oppress the poor commoners only to be arrested for corruption.
Once the four siblings crossed the border they looked back at Galia, they've noticed that their home is now going to go under strict changes, for better or worse, they hopped that they will be fine under Tabitha's rule. As the light of dawn began to appear the sibling looked at each other and for the first time in years, they all hugged each other realizing they all they have is each other. Any allies they had are definitely gone and their enemies have increased dramatically.
"Boy I know that I've always called you idiots but you that I love you three right?" Jeanetta asked.
"Of course we do." Bleu said with his charming smile.
"Heck even if you found a man to marry, we will be there in case he decides to hurt you" Jack said smiling.
"You big muscle head." Jeanette said.
"thank you guy for always being there for me." Damien said softly. And the sibling hugged for a solid three minutes before they broke the hug and continued their journey.
Weeks went by and they haven't even found any nun or novice that looked like a copy of Tabitha. They visited the nearest nunnery first and stayed there for their first night to get some rest, and in the morning they looked at every nun as young as they are to see if there was any resemblance. Some of the nuns became nosey but they made up a great story saying that they were looking for a relative who may have been sent to a nunnery since infancy due to family complications. As they searched for tabitha's twins sister, they looked everywhere, from cheese foundries to gardens, even the chapel itself, but no luck came to them as they hadn't found her. After that they left and said their good byes, the nuns wished them luck and hoped that they will find that relative, though it was easier said than done. Day after day, town after town, village after village, they found nothing.
That day a week before the final battle in the siege, the four siblings were having breakfast outside the restaurant they were at. Every single civilian are feeling tense because nearby the allied armies are attacking the capitol city in rapid succession, the tense atmosphere was present in almost every direction. Damien was eating his toast as he looked around him.
"Everyone is tense huh?" Damien asked softly.
"That's because the war getting to them." Jack answered.
"Not only that, I bet they are afraid of the allied armies attacking this town." Jeanette added.
"more than that, I heard that Shinobi are doing a few raids here and there to help secure the supply line." Bleu added with more sincerity. Just then a few loud pops was heard across the street, and as soon the sibling turned to the direction of the commotion, a well-dressed man went fly out the town hall across the square. Just then a small group of armed masked men dressed in dark clothes came out through the window and held the man at blades length. The man held his hands in surrender and shouted something, one of the masked assailants turned towards one of his accomplices and nodded. The accomplice went back inside to get whatever they were searching for. The siblings were contemplating if they should help or not. Just then the town guard came rushing towards them, just then the masked men saw the guards and one of them threw something on the ground and a burst of smoke filled the area, after a few short seconds the masked men were gone, as if they had disappeared or something. The siblings looked confused by this and soon realized what may have happened.
"those must be the shinobi you were talking about." Jack said softly.
"you know of them?" Damien asked.
"We've fought their leader, and he was a samurai." Jeanette explained.
"Well whoever they are, I'm really afraid of them now." Damien said timidly.
"I agree on that." Bleu asked. Just then a voice came up.
"Did I just hear that you youngsters have dealt with these Shinobi before?" The siblings turned to see an elderly man in his fifties walk up to them.
"Uh yeah! But it was a few months ago so we rather not talk about it though." Bleu answered, the old man didn't look convinced but he bought their story.
"You lot aren't from around here are ya?" the man asked.
"Ah yeah, we are looking for a relative of ours, we've heard that she's staying at a nunnery." Jeanette explained.
"A nun eh? There's a nunnery just over the hill, my cousin is the abbess there, maybe I can help you find her." the old man said smiling.
"Well we don't know much about our relative only that she had blue hair and all. We didn't know about her till we found a letter from a recently deceased family member that we've learned about her." Jack explained.
"you didn't knew about her till recently?" the man asked suspiciously.
"we're all that's left of our family that we know off. It was said that she was taken there at a young age so we have no memory of her. Also due to complications we had some trouble in the family." Bleu said in a sad tone. The man look between the siblings and couldn't tell from their expressions if they were lying or not, but as soon as he saw the sincerity of the siblings he believed their story and decided to help them.
"well there is a blue haired novice at my cousins nunnery, she could be that relative you were mentioned earlier. Want me to go and talk to my cousin about it?" the man explained. The sibling looked at each other and a hopefull gleam went through their eyes.
"That would be nice sir but we would like to see for ourselves if you don't mind." Damien explained.
"Ah no worries, I shouldn't pry any further into your business." With that the man stood up and left. The four siblings looked at each other and nodded. Several minutes later they visited the nunnery nearby and began their search. They've greeted the abbess and just alongside her was a young girl with short blue hair and an emotionless expression, with one look they knew who she was and the resemblance is uncanny. The next couple of hours the conversed with the blue haired girl, as it turns out her name was Josette. She talked about how her family had abandoned her and had given her away to the church by the priest. As they continued to talk bleu explained that they heard different and that she was kidnapped at birth and told her the entire story. She didn't believed them at first but when they told her that they were telling the truth, but she doesn't have to believe them, it made her question what had really happened.
Two days later at the camp of the siege Tabitha watch as the cannons bombard the walls and the gates. The bombardment in these past few months she had come to realize how terrible war can be and how many knights and military men would often glorify their actions. She felt sorry for the people living in the city, however the man she has no sympathy for was the pope and the church as a whole. They had taken her sister, and had many corrupt cardinals, and she has seen the damage they had done. Now here she is looking at the damage the siege has done. Just then a messenger came running towards her with a scroll in his hand.
"Milady! A message has arrived for you." the Messenger said. Tabitha took the scroll and motioned the messenger to get some water. As she unrolled the scroll she read the contents and it was a treasure trove of information. The four siblings have found her twin and she was conflicted and in denial. Tabitha was happy to learn that her sister is alright but she must be dealt with and extracted. Tabitha went to her tent to retire for the day and began writing a letter to the four siblings and to give them their orders. The time to storm the city was drawing near and she must keep focus on the siege right now. As she was writing her letter, Kirche came in and saw her writing.
"a letter to someone?" Kirche asked
"Yes." Tabitha answered, Kirche realized that she answered so quickly she didn't even blink.
"who are you writing to?" Kirche asked. Tabitha kept her eyes to the letter as she wrote with the quill in her hands.
"Remember the three knights I've fought when confronting my uncle?" Tabitha asked. Kirche raised her eyebrows not liking where this was going.
"Yeah and they nearly killed you and Louise that day… don't tell me!" Kirche began fearing the decision.
"I've hired them to find my twin sister." Tabitha said still writing her letter.
"Tabitha I know that you are quite logical in your decisions but are you sure that was the right decision?" Kirche asked in a worried tone. Tabitha looked up to her friend and smiled.
"I could have done worse… but I've put a contingency plan in case they tried to do anything to me." Tabitha answered her friend. Kirche sighed at Tabitha's words but she smiled at this.
"Girl you seriously are something else." Kirche said smiling as she sat onto the desk.
"We royals are a different breed of noble." Tabitha joked. Kirche laughed at that.
"Sometime you can be really daring at times." Kirche laughed. Then she turn back to a serious look as she knew that Tabitha's twin could be a threat to her rule.
"Tabitha… are you sure it's wise to look for your sister? I mean what if she decides to usurper you?" Kriche asked. Tabitha knew that Kirche was right, and she needed to make sure that her twin doesn't do anything to usurp the throne.
"You have a point right there. But right now I don't have the time to think about it." Tabitha sighed. Kirche looked worried at her friend.
"Tabitha." Kirche said in a worried tone.
"But whatever the reason, I'll make sure that it won't happen, especially with you." Tabitha said smiling at her friend. Kirche smiled at that comment and began to help Tabitha with her letter. As time passed Tabitha rolled up the scroll and place it on a pigeon and it flew away towards the town a few spies have taken it from. Tabitha looked at the pigeon hopping that one day, she will have peace will all the members of her family.
'I hope that My twin will be willing to talk over a cup of tea.' Tabitha thought, just then Kirche hugged her friend from behind and Tabitha smiled at this. Hopefully she will see her sister again.
"So… are you planning to take on a husband?" Kirche asked.
"Honestly I was thinking of stealing saito from Louise, but I was also thinking of doing the same thing Siesta is planning." Tabitha explained. Kirche laughed at her friends boldness and gave her serious look with a gentle smile.
"Louise will kill you if you do that." Kirche said.
"I know, atleast it's a risk worth taking." Tabitha said.
"I can't believe you're thinking that way." Kirche scoffed.
"I've learned from the best." Tabitha teased. Kirche looked dumbfound by that comment, and realized who she was talking about.
"I think you've heard about my exploits far too much, and have been a bad influence on you." with that the two girls laughed at their conversation and went back to their tent to retire… Several days later, the Knights of the undine along with the cavalry brigades came with what was left of Chesare's army. And the day after that, the gates to the capitol were breached and the capture of the pope was imminent, the war with Romalia was about to come to a close.
It'll take atleast 3 weeks for her to meet Josette, and another few months for twins to connect and become the twin sisters they were meant to be. Tabitha hopes that one days, her family will become a normal family.
Tabitha: Not bad. Though I prefer it to be longer.
Me: eh… I've tried to do my best but I hope I have satisfied enough.
Tabitha: Don't worry about that Demigod san. But what I do appreciate is how you've portrayed my friendship with kirche here.
Me: well in the anime and manga you two are always close. And she had rubbed off on you.
Kirche: I agree on that part.
Me: ok the last part is going to have you and Professor Colbert in it Kirche.
Kirche: Oh! Are you gonna give us some sexy time?
Me: if I do that then Colbert sensei will be labeled and I will in trouble with a certain type of crowd so no. however I will allow you to tease him however you wish.
Tabitha: good for you kirche.
Kirche: when will we start?
Me: hold your horses. I need to make the script.
