A/N: Things change a little here! The situation here is based on a deleted scene from the first Incredibles movie :)
The next morning, Bobbie had just finished dropping off the children at school.
She went on the highway, hoping that it would be a faster route home, but she was mistaken. The road was congested with lots of cars with no seeming end. She sat, frustrated, as she tapped her fingers against the wheel impatiently. She looked out the back window, seeing cars. She looked out her side windows, seeing cars. She turned back to the front, seeing cars. In the backseat, Jackie happily babbled, oblivious to the issue.
Just then, the traffic moved a little, some space opening up for Bobbie to move the car forward. She prepared to press on the gas, but another car from next to her suddenly cut in, Bobbie having to slam the brakes before she collided with it. The woman angrily rolled down the window.
"Hey! Excuse you! What's the big hurry?"
The driver of the vehicle glanced back at her with an unimpressed look, rolled down her window, and responded with a profane gesture.
Bobbie gasped. "Why you little - "
But the sound of wailing sirens caught her attention before she could continue her own profane retort. Bobbie turned around and saw farther back the long line of cars what seemed to be a police chase. The suspect was on a motorcycle, booking it between the cars, and the police were hot on their trail with motorcycles of their own.
Bobbie's eyes widened as they came closer and closer, the cyclist weaving her way carefully in and out of the vehicles. Bobbie straightened up in her car, waiting as the cyclist closed in.
Right when she was about to pass her car, Bobbie stuck out her arm as quick as a flash, knocking the biker right off her motorcycle and having her sprawl out onto the road, stunned. As soon as she went down, Bobbie got out of her car and walked right up to the cyclist, picking her up by the front of her jacket. "Well, well, well," she said. "What do we have here?"
Before the questioning could continue, Bobbie saw that the police officers had finally caught up. She perked up and smiled. "Good morning, officers!" She held up the cyclist for them to see. "I was able to find this piece of - "
"Police business, ma'am. Please return to your vehicle," one of the officers said, taking the cyclist and handcuffing her.
Bobbie was confused. Why weren't they grateful? "Hey, um… I was just here to help," she explained.
The other officer stepped in and spoke more firmly. "Return to your vehicle ma'am. NOW."
Bobbie scowled. "Hey, listen…"
The other officer returned. "Is there a problem here?" she asked.
"Yes," Bobbie didn't hesitate to answer. "With all due respect, I don't think that your coworker here understands that I have helped the situation. I stopped the bad guy! If I hadn't, she would have gotten away!"
The officer stared sternly at her. "Ma'am, I think you're the one who does not understand. As we stated before, this is strictly police business. Civilians are not to be involved with our matters."
Bobbie gritted her teeth. "Oh yeah? Well what about the Supers?"
"What about them?" the officer said. "They are civilians as well."
"How can you say that?" Bobbie said. "It's their job to help people, too!"
"Please, do not change the subject, ma'am," the second officer said. "Behave civilly for us, and get back into your vehicle."
Angry beeps from cars were heard, and Bobbie looked over, seeing several people in her row of cars sticking their heads out of their windows and shouting.
"The traffic's moving again, pal!"
"Come on!"
"Get back in your car and drive you idiot!"
Bobbie bit her lip, trying so hard to restrain herself. But ultimately finding she couldn't.
"Behave civilly," she muttered. "I'll show you how to 'behave civilly!'" Lunging, she grabbed the officers in one hand each and threw them at the first car in the line. The impact was so hard, it broke the dashboard window of the car, startling the driver inside as their car blew back and hit the other one behind it. Which hit the other behind it, and the other behind it, and the other behind it. It continued like a domino effect, only stopping when one of the cars in the line hit a sturdy semi-truck. People who had been driving in the other lanes stopped their cars to stare at the incredulous scene, and the one woman standing in the middle of the road who had caused it all.
Bobbie gulped as all eyes landed on her. "Uh-oh," she mumbled. If she thought things were bad before, it was certainly nothing compared to how it was now.
