Bobbie sat back in a sleek luxurious jet as it sliced through the sky. She was on her way to a remote secret location. Clad in her old Super suit, now a little bit tight around the middle, Bobbie faced the handsome Specter. He began briefing her on her upcoming mission as they flew.

"The Omnidroid 9000 is a top-secret prototype battle robot," he told Bobbie. "Its artificial intelligence enables it to solve any problem. And unfortunately – "

"Let me guess," Bobbie said, putting a hand up. "It got smart enough to wonder why it had to take orders."

Specter nodded. "We lost control and now it's loose in the jungle."

"How am I going in?" Bobbie asked in a cool tone.

"An airdrop from five thousand feet," Specter said. It had been a long time since Bobbie had been air-dropped into anything. She played it cool, but secretly she couldn't wait.

"We're pretty sure it's on the southern half of the island," Specter told Bobbie. "One more thing," he said. "Obviously it represents a significant investment."

Bobbie understood. "You want me to shut it down without completely destroying it."

Specter smiled. "You are Mrs. Incredible."

Bobbie confidently entered the drop-pod bay. Getting into the pod proved to be a Super feat in itself. After a few unsuccessful attempts at squeezing herself in, she was finally crammed inside the pod. Admittedly, she wasn't in top Super form, the days of motherhood having gotten to her. Specter entered the drop-pod bay and pressed the speaker switch.

"Remember," he said, "it's a learning robot. Every moment you spend fighting it only increases its knowledge of how to beat you."

Bobbie nodded and repeated his instructions. "Shut it down. Do it quickly. Don't destroy it," she said.

"And don't die," Specter added. Bobbie flashed him a smile, and the pod blasted from the jet into the clouds above the island of Nomanisan.

The pod dropped and disappeared into the thick jungle. Bobbie found that she had to tear the pod apart to get out. Once freed, she quickly began to track the robot. Mrs. Incredible was ready for action.

Unfortunately, she was also out of shape. By the time she found the first sign of the Omnidroid, she was breathing heavily. Then, crashing out of the jungle, the robot suddenly attacked her. Mrs. Incredible, slightly overweight and a little rusty, struggled with the large spider-like robot. She hadn't fought like this in a long time. She managed to throw the robot into a nearby lava pool, but hurt her back in the process.

"Ow! My back!" she cried.

The robot emerged, red-hot from the lava, and grabbed him with two claws, trying to break him in half! Mrs. Incredible's back cracked. She smiled. The Omnidroid was much better than a chiropractor! With newfound strength she slipped under the robot and tore her way inside the machine. The Omnidroid began attacking itself to get at Mrs. Incredible, eventually pulling itself apart in the process. When it had had enough, the machine rumbled and fell over, defeated. Mrs. Incredible climbed out, dusting her hands off triumphantly.

In a secret room in the island's headquarters, Specter and his mysterious employer watched a video display of the battle.

"Impressive," the mystery woman commented to Specter as they watched Mrs. Incredible. "We must bring him back." She smiled. "Invite her to dinner."

Later that evening, Bobbie was elegantly dressed in a fine silver sequined dress with a mask over her eyes. Her hair was done up in a bun and her heels clicked as she walked up to the door that led into an enormous dining room. No one was there yet. She took a look at her pocket watch. She was early. The dining room had a terrace that overlooked a lush tropical jungle. The lavishly set table was placed in front of an impressive waterfall of molten lava.

Suddenly, there was a rumble. The hot lava parted like a curtain, revealing a passageway. Bobbie slipped out of the room and peeked through a crack in the door. She could see two figures behind the falls. She recognized one of them as Specter. The other was obscured by the lava's glow. Bobbie closed the door. Specter opened the door moments later to see Bobbie – seemingly just arriving at the room.

"Am I overdressed?" she asked as she stepped into the dining room.

Specter smiled approvingly. "Actually, you look quite beautiful."

They sat at the dining room table, the red lava falling behind them. "So, I take it our host is – " Bobbie began.

"I'm sorry. She's not able to dine with us tonight," Specter said with a wave of his hand. "She hopes you understand."

"Of course," Bobbie said casually though she was still curious. "I do usually make it a point to know who I'm working for."

Specter explained that their host preferred anonymity. "Surely you of all people understand that," he said, his smile knowing.

Bobbie looked at the surroundings. "I was just wondering… of all places to settle down," she said, "why live – "

"With a volcano?" Specter laughed. "She's attracted to power. And So am I." He leaned toward Bobbie. "It's a weakness that we both share."

Bobbie sipped at her wine. "Just seems a bit unstable," she said.

"I prefer to think of it as misunderstood," Specter said, looking at Bobbie over his own raised glass.
