A little time jump. Thanksgiving.

Chapter 17 Four months later-November

Thanksgiving is approaching. Logan and Rory have been enjoying spending time with each other. Logan normally stayed in Hartford Friday – Monday. Returning to New York Tuesday morning. Facetiming Rory and the boys every night he is away. He and Rory try to have a date night at least once a weekend but when school started Rory picked up more editing assignments from her publisher, Sandlot Publishing Company, making it harder for them to get away from the Manor.

Karson had also started back to college which complicated things. Luke and Lorelai enjoyed spending time with the boys, so they are a big help. But mostly Logon, Rory and the boys spend time together. Gradually Logan had unofficially moved in with Rory and the boys. He spent every night he was in Hartford at the Gilmore Manor. The boys enjoyed having Logan around or Unc Ogan, which they picked up from Andy, Joshua and Samuel. They loved their Dad, but really don't remember him and their mother living together. Anyone looking in from the outside would believe he lived with Rory and the boys and that they are a happy family.

Rory and Logan were having coffee one Saturday morning in November. They both had their date books out. They are working on planning the Holidays. Rory reminded Logan "Billy and Melissa would be coming to Hartford for Thanksgiving." This is Billy's Thanksgiving with the boys, both agreed for Billy to come to Hartford. "I guess Melissa is coming. I will get Ms. Lewis to check the bedroom in the pool house." Rory continued.

Rory had everything caught up at work and the boys are out of School starting next week. Logan was moving the majority of the corporate office to Hartford. He hoped to have this completed by the first of the year. He plans to ask Rory to marry him. He just has not decided on the right time.

"Okay," Rory said, getting back to the subject at hand, "as of now, we have Thanksgiving Day scheduled for 4:00 PM here, with everyone. Did you check with your Mom? Is she coming or will she be spending Thanksgiving at the Spa?"

"Still waiting to hear. Honor, Josh and boys will be here. Dad is coming. Not sure if he is bringing someone with him. I think that is the reason for the hesitation from Mom." Logan said.

"Okay," Rory said with a sigh, "that is 16 including us, without your parents bringing a plus one. Other than the 4 of us, none of that gang will be staying the night."

"Okay. How many do we have staying here?" Logan asked.

"Just Ronnie, her two boys, Billy and Melissa. Karson is still not sure. She wants to go home but her brother is bringing his girlfriend and they do not get along. I told her it was up to her." Rory told him while looking through her planner, making notes.

"If she stays, you will feel better about leaving the boys here with Billy and crew while we spend the weekend in New York with our friends." Logan stated.

Rory let out a deep breath and said "Yes, I will. Okay, we have 24 at the most coming for Thanksgiving Dinner. Billy and his crew will be here Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Are you sure you are okay with Billy staying here? They could stay at the Dragonfly."

"Ace, first of all, this is your house." Rory tried to interrupt. "No, let me say my peace. It belongs to you and the boys. I don't have a say. But if you are asking me if I am okay with it? I am. Tell me you are not secretly in love with Billy. Tell me Billy will not think he is the man of the house. I am fine with it. Are we going to pretend that I don't live here? You know it's not official, but if you ask the boys, they will say I live here." Logan said the last part with a smile on his face. How could one person be so happy, he thought.

"Is that a hint?" She said and winked at him. "Do you want me to officially ask you to move in?" She got up, went around the table, pulled Logan's chair out and sat in his lap, kissing his lips. "Logan, I am officially asking you to move in."

"Wow, I don't know what to say. Just Wow." Rory pulled back so that she could see his face and started laughing. "Yes, Ace, I will live with you and the boys" Rory laid her head on Logan's chest and snuggled up.

Rory and Logan sat like that for a while. Rory is glad that Billy will be able to come for Thanksgiving. She wants him to spend as much time with the boys as he can. At first, Billy was not happy that Logan would whisk Rory and the twins off to New York at the last minute. Billy and Logan had problems being in the same house on one of Billy's visits to see the boys. On the next visit, Logan and Billy sat down together and had a pow wow. Logan explained that he was not trying to replace him as the twin's dad. They also discussed Billy's relationship with Rory. Logan explains as nicely as he could that Billy under no circumstance was to try to gain sympathy from Rory by trying to make her feel guilty for their failed marriage.

The Monday before Thanksgiving, Logan moved his personal belongings from the apartment in Hartford to the Gilmore Manor. They will use his apartment as the corporate apartment for HPG. This will ease the transition.

Tuesday Rory, Logan and the twins loaded up and headed to Star Hollow. Logan is going to take the boys to the Dragonfly to spend time with Lorelai while Rory and Luke finalize the menu and the guest count.

Luke and Rory cleared a table after the breakfast rush. Rory told Luke that after they got a guest count, she had some ideas for the menu.

Rory and Luke split up the menu, Rory taking the majority because the catering service she uses was waiting on the menu. They will deliver the food. Luke said he would cook Turkey. Turkey strips, Biscuits and most of the desserts. After emailing the menu that the caterers would prepare, Rory left the diner to go visit Lane. She was not working this week.

When she got to Lane's they were running around packing. They are flying to Washington D.C. to visit Dave's parents for Thanksgiving. Zack was going to try to catch up with them to visit with Steve and Kwan. Rory didn't stay long. She didn't want to hinder Lane from packing. She headed over to the bookstore to look around and chat with Andrew, then she headed to the Dragonfly to visit her mom before they had to get back. Rory still needed to do the shopping for her part of Thanksgiving. Logan also had to pick up an order of liquor.

While the twins are playing at the inn, Logan talks to Lorelai about proposing to Rory. Lorelai tells Logan that she knows this is a long time coming, but to please be sure. She did not want to see Rory and the boys hurt. Logan assured Lorelai that he was ALL IN. Lorelai told him as long as he makes Rory and the twins happy, that was all that mattered. She asked Logan about his parents and if that was going to be a problem at Thanksgiving. She did not want Thanksgiving ruined because of them. He agreed with Lorelai, but Rory insisted on inviting them. He, Honor and Mitchum are going to talk with Shira before Thanksgiving.

After Rory had spent time with Lorelai, Logan and the family, that is what he liked to refer to Rory and the twins, are headed back to Hartford.

On the way to Hartford, Rory suggested that they invite Shira, Honor and her family over. She told him; we can have take- out. I'll call Karson and make sure she can be there to watch the twins, Joshua, and Samuel. Logan looked at her like she had two heads. "Why would you want to do that? Seeing Shira once a month is too much, now you want to see her two times this week.?" Logan proclaimed.

"Logan," Rory said, putting her hand on top of his on the gear shift. "Your dad has already met the twins and that went great. I want Shira to meet them before Thanksgiving because I want a drama free day. I just feel that if Honor comes tonight that we can make her understand that snide remarks and eye rolling will not be allowed. I just don't want your mother and my mother in a knock down drag out."

"Yeah I guess, but you know it is already 2:00. I bet Honor and Josh already have plans. I'm sure Mother is at a spa or something. Her credit card bill shows she visits quite often." Logan said.

Rory smiles at Logan. "You have already talked to Honor, haven't you?" Logan asked.

Rory grinned at Logan "It was her idea."

Logan just picked up the phone and called his mother.
